Just tried it and my CM is almost a 9.
It was a 5 before doing it.

Don't really like the feel of the BS, it dried my up a little bit.
Will try BS douche next time I think.

Going to start having BS baths.

It really is only a quick fix hey. Go get some wheatgrass tablets they work great for pH!

I think your body's natural EWCM is much better for swaying than baking soda. So to me, trading EWCM (even if it's lower in pH) for BSF, is not a good trade. It does not make sense to me that very high pH is any better for sperm than very low pH and doctors agree with me.

Not a big fan of BS douche because not only is the BS drying and not good for sperm, the douche will wash away whatever CM is in there.

The theoretical idea with BSF is that the high pH diffuses throughout your vjj and even goes up into your uterus and fallopian tubes all the way to the ovary. So it shouldn't matter if you don't get it up there SUPER high, it should still infiltrate throughout the vjj at least. If you are really wanting to get it near the cervix so it can diffuse up inside all the way to your ovaries, you will def. need to get it as close to the cervix as possible.

Problem is, I don't really believe this to be true/physically possible. If you put a fingerful of baking soda on your tongue, whether you put it on the front or the back, it is just not going to alter the pH of your entire throat and stomach contents, because just like your vaginal tract, it is constantly producing secretions that wash away irritants and digest food. It will change the area right around where it touched for a little while and everyone who sticks a pH stick up there will look like they have high pH but that does not mean or prove that the pH at the bottom of the stomach (or ovaries) is any different from what it always is.

You also may not even WANT sperm to swim through the BS anyway. That is going to kill off some sperm becasue it is highly unlikely that sperm like or prefer pH that is different from what nature has designed to be in there, which is pH in the 7's for both fertile CM and semen (and you can ask any doctor or sperm researcher about this and they will agree.) In fact a very high semen pH can indicate an infection that is very bad for sperm count. Most of the baby boys ever born on the face of the planet were to people who did not do a BSF.

That is the downside - it doesn't last. :( And the sperm are already gone anyway.

A lot of people are finding that their pH goes up from diet, lemon water, and wheatgrass supps much more reliably than the BS.

I agree with you so much Atomic! I think the reason why I wasn;t getting pregnant earlier this year was because of the baking soda, I honestly think it killed the sperm off!

It confirms what i was thinking. Our bodies have a PH for a reason. Mine has been at 5 so I am thinking of trying to naturally get it to at least a 7 through lemon water and diet and BS baths.

I was too, but unless you use too much or touch your cervix, it is okay. I used too much the first time, and it did hurt, but after that I was more careful and it was fine.

i was chicken too bumblebee. i am SO not a sticker of things up there. no tampons here. but i got "used" to it

same here with bsf, im usually ew around O but after bsf, it downgrades to watery (probably a sign i shouldnt do it but i prob will again anyway!). also think it killed off sperm at 1st attempt, esply bc it was only in for about 30-45 min before we dtd. maybe wait longer 1-2 hrs.

bsv: dh gets SOO jealous if i even mention anything like that. like im cheating on him or wont need him anymore! ;-)

Or would the tampon soak up all the BS, would big O draw out some BS from the tampon ?

Im not a fan of the BS, just never had a good feeling about it, even the egg white, personally I'd go for preseed, its at the normal PH a vagina should be, I just think when you start messing around with your PH too much its going to have the opposite effect, just my opinion.

Yeah i agree CapAqu, I'm not going to put anything up there when i BD, i will be drinking URAL for 1 week before O, and have just started on wheatgrass supps to raise ph. And i hear you ILOVE, it is getting expensive... if you really have your mind set on using BS then i think BSF 30-60mins before DTD will be the best thing you can do.

NO!!!! Tampon with baking soda is highly risky for causing toxic shock syndrome. NEVER use a tampon dry ever ever ever.

The only reason why pink swayers get away with it is because the lime juice moistens the tampon and the very low pH kills off a lot of microorganisms. A dry tampon plus a high pH of baking soda is a recipe for causing yourself a serious infection that can KILL you.

No, it is still too risky because the high pH of the baking soda would encourage the growth of microorganisms.

They use plastic applicator tampons and then insert them, so the tampon does swell up and get soft but the plastic keeps it contained. But again, please don't do this with baking soda water. Personally I would love it if no swayer ever used a tampon for swaying purposes because it is just too risky for my liking.

Im not sure if wheat grass helps my ph or not we are taking it for months . But it goes up before O so im happy for that.

I hope mine changes at O this month, it didn't last cycle but my cycle was all weird cause of the L-arg and I only got a few hours of EWCM instead of 2days like usual.

Im also scared for ttc I think every day Im making a mistake and I should stop having another baby and just loose all this fat on me.

Flava, the big O is supposed to raise your pH and I think your T as well? I had one with both DDs and when I conceived DS, so who knows.

It is okay to be nervous and have second thoughts. I had them too, and now that I am nearing the end of the 2WW, I am nervous about how I will feel if I get a BFP. It is all so nerve wracking!!

If you really don't feel right about TTC, then maybe you don't want another baby... but I think you do, because you were sad the last two cycles when things didn't work out.

I think if that's what your gut is telling you to do, then that's the right thing. O, no O, I would bet $$$ that there are tons of boys conceived without O's and tons of girls, with.
