Hello, I am going to try to sway pink after two beautiful boys and I'm planning on starting at the beginning of 2018. For now, before I receive my sway plan I need to learn a little more about my body and my cycle. I just recently started temping and charting and also using opks. I got a flashing smiley on 9/20 in the morning and a solid smiley at around 7:30pm. I don't really understand how to read my chart though. Can someone help me out on this? Can you tell if ovulation has occurred yet or is there not enough info. I got another positive (or what I believe to be positive) opk on a cheapie this morning. Please help! Thanks!!37751

Ovulation usually happens 24-48 hours after your first pos opk. Fertility Friend won't detect ovulation until you have a sustained rise in temp of at least 0.2 degrees for three days. You'll get crosshairs on your chart once it believes ovulation has occurred based on temps. Today or tomorrow will likely be when you ovulate. Also make sure you're temping same time each morning before getting out of bed and moving around.

Thank you for your response. From everything I've read it says that 3 consecutive increases and then the dip down indicates that ovulation has occurred so I just want to pin down when it has occurred. My cycle may not be regulated yet as I just came off birth control in august. I want to maximize my chance of conceiving a girl badly. As I said, I'm not trying til next year anyways but want to understand the charting better.

Nope, sorry, doesn't work like that. I have seen charts where people have had that pattern 5 times in a row but haven't Oed yet. You need 3 sustained temps above coverline to demonstrate that O HAS occured. There is NO WAY to tell in advance of O or on O day when O will happen, sorry to say.

I have not found any benefit in maximizing effects of a sway to chart. Really. If anything quite the opposite - the more people stress and obsess over things like charts and every fluctuation of their temp, it causes these "control freak" feelings that seem to sway blue somehow. So it's fine if you want to chart, but I just don't want you to put an undue importance upon it as it probably helps little if not at all in how your sway goes.
