I've been using full fat milk but it can make me feel a bit sick. I'm ok with some in my tea, but with porridge, is it ok to use semi skimmed? If not it's Ok, I can stick with the full fat. Also, is 1 or 2 cappuccinos a week bad? I've cut them out completely, but sometimes I have to give in to Starbucks :C:

My understanding is the full fat part is important. If the milk puts you off a little maybe try more through full fat yoghurt or cheese?

I'm sure I've read that 1-2 coffees a week won't signicantly undermine a blue sway. I'm going to have trouble cutting back/out my 3-4 coffees a day habit.

I know full fat milk is usually what's recommended for blue sways but I can tell you I got three boys without it. Like Miamelb suggested, you could incorporate other full fat dairy products like cheese or cream.

Thanks. I have a full fat yogurt every night, and ice cream at the weekend. I do have some some cheese but it would be once or twice a week as part of dinner (e.g. lasagne)

I'm not sure if it's available by you, but Fairlife is a newer brwnd of milk that is ultralfiltered that has higher protein, lower lactase, etc. It's not at all expensive and has done really well for my own digestive issues. Might be worth a try for you if you can get it?

I got 2 of my 4 with 2% milk. It's fine if that is all you can stomach (but do use it when you can)

The occasional coffee a couple times a week is fine. it's the 3 a day habit we need to break. :)

Yep! I cooked mostly in avocado and olive oils with my first 2 boys!

The way the oils work is bizarre but it appears that when you are getting equal or greater % of your total fat intake from animal fats, then the veg. oils are all good. But if you are getting more of your total fat intake from JUST veg oils then that may end up swaying pink even if you're eating a lot of them. So if you're careful to be getting more animal fats then yes the olive/avocado oil would only help, but if the avocado and other veg. oils are adding up to be more than the animal fats, you may not want to go that route.

(sorry, I know it's terribly confusing and I wish it didn't work that way but enough studies have indicated that it makes a difference that I feel like we have to take it into consideration)

Yeah, echoing this with an ancedote, I had a very olive oil rich diet before DD -- my fat totals were often pretty high even during says where I really underate. But I had virtually zero sources of animal fat.

My animal fats are from chicken 5 times per week, salmon once a week and eggs 5- 6 days a week. Not sure how that balances out :/

Chicken is not super fatty - can you use butter or ghee to cook with?

I can use it to cook my eggs but Dh wouldn't use it when he cooks (only once a week tho lol)

Chicken thighs, legs and wings are fattier than breasts! I try eating more of that than breasts. They also taste better ;P

Once a week won't hurt anything.

LOL I'm so used to talking to pink swayers I guess I kinda forgot there are two halves to a chicken. Yes nonbreast meat chicken does have a lot of nice fat in it. Thanks Panther.
