I was wondering if there were any trends with AF and getting girls/boys.
I have light periods that last 2 days or sometimes 3 days but long cycles (32 days when not taking vitex [28-30 days with vitex]) i was wondering if our cycles sway due to any hormonal reason.
just curious and cant find the answer so im guessing that means that it doesnt sway!
*edit* i do not display any symptoms of PCOS so wouldnt think that was the reason for my light AF

32 days is not a long cycle. It is well within normal range.
Short light cycles do seem to be associated with more girls conceived BUT I, like you, have always had short light periods and got all 4 boys that way. But when I was swaying for my daughter they got even shorter and lighter, more like 1 day with some spotting. So my point is - it may not be what your period does naturally that means anything, it is if there is a change from what is normal to you (and what you got boys with) and then going shorter and lighter from that point.

Hi Atomic,
Is little brownish spotting 3-4 days before periods is a cause of concern?

No, it's pretty normal but do you have 14 days between O and AF??? So you have 10 days without spotting and 4 days with?? or less than that?

Hi Atomic,
I am not sure of my luteal phase length. This month I am going for follicular study, will get to know exact position. She gave me femara for day 3-7 and told to leave metformin.
I am loosing hope day by day, I hope i get my bfp soon

The LP length matters so once you have the bloodwork done (although on Femara it will give a different result to what normally may be happening, of course) we will know more. Please don't hesitate, keep me posted on what you find out!

Hi Atomic,
You are a great help to me and I cant thank you enough for that :)
I used to have very light periods since beginnung for 2-3 days, but from last two months i wss on metformin and this time i had periods for 4 days; is it a good sign for fertility?
Also, my doctor has now given me femara but she said to leave metformin without any tests. Shall i leave metformin or continue? I am taking good amount of protein and trying to avoid wheat and rice.
Does femara does not need metformin? I know femara can hinder my boy sway but at this point i just want a healthy baby.
TIA

NO, you don't need to use Metformin and Femara together. I would drop Metformin and keep the Femara because they both sway pink and the two together may really sway pink. :)
Keep limiting the carbs after coming off the Metformin and try to avoid the sugary stuff too.
I can't say if the longer period is good or bad, I haven't seen such a strong trend with that as I have with the very short light periods = more girls. I'm sorry.

Oh man....my periods have always been about 5-6 days, with a few heavy days....does this mean much less chance for girl for me? :/ My periods have been pretty consistent my whole life and I'm nearing 40

Hi Atomic,
Thankyou for your support.
I have already stopped metformin and taking femara. I will keep you updated on my follicular study.
My husband has low sperm count. He is taking l-carnitine and zinc since last two months. How much time it takes to increase sperm count?
Regarding periods i am happy because earlier it used to be just 1-2 days with 3rd day of spotting.

No, no, it doesn't. That's not what I want anyone to take away from this. Some of my blue swayers (who have 2-3-4 girls) are PLAGUED with super heavy and long periods and like I said I've always had pretty short light ones and have all boys. It's ok if you don't fit this scenario. But, you may notice that this changes while swaying, or then again you may not. It's not something that has changed for everyone or even most people, but I have had what I call "an important minority" of pink swayers see this happen and so when I see something happen repeatedly, I do take note of that of course.

Yes do keep me posted!!
Re sperm count - some guys notice improvements immediately!!! It all depends on why the count is low (and that we can't know from here). If it's because of some kind of deficiency then the nutrients make all the difference in the world. If it's some other reason that the nutrients can't help with, then he may not see the same level of improvement but it will still be better taking them than not taking htem.
