View Full Version : Olive oil or butter?

I was using olive oil for a while on my baked potato (eating baked potatoes occasionally, not a lot), but then read it could sway blue so stopped eating them a month or so ago.
I really want one now, is it better to eat with butter, or is that the same as using olive oil?

Usually Atomic recommends more of the other oils like canola or vegetable. Margarine would be a good sub for butter if you'd rather use that. I know Atomic has found that it's better to eat more of the fats higher in omega-6 than omega 3 when swaying pink. I remember her posting about it recently, how more girls tend to be conceived to those that eat more vegetable based fats than animal. Between the two olive oil is probably better than butter but don't feel like you can't ever eat butter. Personally I would switch from olive oil to canola or vegetable (soy) oil just so overall you're getting a higher percentage of the omega 6 fats. Olive oil occasionally is fine though.

Thanks so much ks for such a great and detailed reply! Totally agree.

I will say I did eat regular old butter when I got my DD (and I ate tons of potatoes). But I had more of my fat from vegetable oils like in American cheese, mayonnaise, baked foods, and cooking oils than I did from the butter.
