View Full Version : Does the trigger shot sway?

This blog is touted around on all the RPL forums I've become sadly too familiar with. https://recurrentearlymiscarriage.wordpress.com/my-success-after-recurrent-chemical-pregnancies/

I'm scheduled to take Femara after my 5th consecutive loss, but noticed she took that and also did an HCG. She conceived sons both times (though her first was also a boy, so it could easily be other things). But considering her success and how many people across the internet have found success following this protocol, I might push for the shot as well. However, I'm hoping if the trigger doesn't sway blue, it at least just doesn't sway.

Hi TP,

I took femara and trigger shot this cycle. I ovulated on 13th night as confirmed by ultrasound. I am in 2ww right now and doctor gave me progesterone supplement without any test. I am scared to take that, because if i dont conceive this konth , it will delay my period which i do not want.

We are planning to go for IUI next month with trigger shot and femara. My husband feels pressurised when doctor says its time to bd.

Do you know how successful is IUI with low sperm count?

TIA

Shall i take progesterone supplements given by doctor without any test?

Hi Ammue, I don't really know too much to answer. I know progesterone supplements after ovulation are safe, as I was never tested either before being told to take it.

I know nothing about IUI -- I'm talking about HCG trigger with otherwise natural conception. DH has no sperm issues.

I imagine IUI might still help even with sperm issues? I know it helps with motility issues.

Hi throwaway, maybe the trigger favours boys but I know femara like clomid favours girls - so maybe the two cancel each other out and you're back to neither swaying. So maybe focus on keeping up the diet instead to sway it back one way??

Hi TP,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually i dont want to wait for my next cycle as i am not very hopeful for this month. That was the reason i wanted to avoid progrsterone.

Yes my husband has low sperm count as well as motility.

Does IUI sway?

I believe it theoretically sways slightly blue.

:agree: I like the Clomid or Femara + estrace protocol, it's like pulling teeth to get docs to do it. I believe it to sway blue due the the Estrace.

I believe the HCG shot to be neutral and have seen plenty of both genders conceived on it.

Hi Atomic,

My doctor only prescribed me femara for day 3-7. Can i take estrace without prescription and when to take that?

TIA

Hi Atomic,

Yes in my country we can get over the counter. Please tell me when to take that?

but that having been said I think it's important to use it only AFTER you have stopped the Femara don't take them at the same time (since Femara is meant to block estrogen and then stimulate your body to make more)

So i would do something like what the woman in the blog did and take the Femara CDand then the next day start the Estrace and take thru CD 12

Hi Atomic,

Estrace is fine with trigger shot? So my next cucle would be femara from cd 3-7, estrace from cd 8-12 , trigger shot.

TIA

Hi Atomic,

Estrace is fine with trigger shot, right? So i would be taking femara from cd3-7, estrace from cd8-12 and then trigger shot.

TIA

Hi Atomic,

Thanks for your reply. You are very helpful.

So next cycle from cd 3-7 i would take femara, from cd8-12 estrace and then trigger shot with IUI.

TIA

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your reply. Does it increase your luteal phase?

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your reply. Does it increase your luteal phase? No. It doeant do anything except releass eggs at ovulation. Progesterone does though yes. Trigger shot is usually out of my system by day 10 at most. Blood Hcg levels under 0.1. Af arrives everytime 14-15dpo.

Hi Atomic,

Congrats on the BFP. I just want to add that you should start the Progesterone as prescribed right away now that pregnancy has been established (that is if you have not started it already).
