Hi Everyone,

My fiance has finally agreed to start trying for a baby after my hormones have been screaming at me for the last 2 years! I am soooo excited but scared at the same time that we can't fall pregnant for whatever reason.
I came across this forum when I googled if it was safe to use ACI-JEL during pregnancy. My GP had prescribed this as I was experiencing unexplainable vaginal discomfort. I thought it was candida (yeast) infection but all tests (vag swab, stool sample and blood) came back clear. The ACI-JEL has worked. I currently use it every other day or so at night time.

I'm 27 years old, live in Perth Western Australia and have been engaged to my 30yo fiance for 1 year now (3.5 years together).
I would be extremely happy with either gender (just want a baby!) but lean slightly more to a girl. I've always said that I don't mind the sex of my first baby, but if that's a boy I do hope for a girl second time round. Would love either a girl+boy or two girls.

I've been taking prenatal vitamins (Eagle Tresos Natal) for roughly a year now and take a good quality pro-biotic. I also take 'Chaste Tree/Vitex Agnus' every morning to stabilise my hormones and mood swings. I've told fiance to take zinc and vit c supplements as I read that could improve sperm.

Would love to find out about all the tips and tricks to hopefully fall pregnant straight away!
I've been off birthcontrol for 2.5 years and use a LadyComp to track my cycle.

We have found that prenatals and probiotics both seem to sway blue so I'd wean off those or else just reduce to 3x a week if you don't want to give them up entirely.

I cannot sign off on Vitex daily because we have found it to really lower odds of conception. I know Australian naturopaths love love love to give everyone Vitex daily for years on end but dozens if not a hundred or more Australian women have come to me rendered infertile by doing this and then we dropped it and they finally got pregnant. If you want to take it, please take it from CD 1-12 or positive OPK whichever comes first and then give your body a break the rest of the time.

I would prefer your fiance simply take a men's multivitamin ~if~ anything (if you want to sway pink, I'd not give him anything) because the amount of zinc in most zinc-only pills is too high and actually causes more harm to sperm than good. A 30 year old probably does not need to worry about sperm health anyway.

If you want to fall pregnant right away, I would use SMEP method here: Sperm Meets Egg Plan (http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm)

If you want to sway pink, I would have one attempt in your fertile window. most of us do this at our positive OPK but you can do it 1,2, or 3 days before ovulation if you prefer not to use OPK strips. This will obviously not be as high of odds of conception but will be more pink friendly (for reasons we do not understand.)

Thank you so very much for all your advise. I've stopped the Aci-Jel. Don't want to reduce conception chances!
I read the SMEP plan and think I can easily follow this with the use of my Lady Comp.
10 days before we can start trying!! I think this first month we'll just try every day as I'm happy with either gender for our first born and then we can actively try to sway pink or blue for second baby.

Did two tests today (cheap and digital clear blue) and they both confirmed! Still very early on but I'm over the moon!
