bluebooties i had bad acid with my last baby and she was born with lots of hair :D it was also pointed out on my scan with her at 37 weeks, the tech said look at all that white shadow around the skull..thats hair!! i will be really interested to see if this baby is a hairy one too because the acid this time has been even worse, i love fuzzy baby hair

your maternity and sick leave are awful :( its like you are punished for having a baby or being too ill to work which is madness and really really unfair, i am even more shocked because you work in the medical field, surely your *big bosses* must understand the need for time off work for a new baby or an illness.
oh no i coudnt imagine having to attempt chest compression's while heavily pregnant!! :-/ fingers crossed that situation doesnt arise!!

Ash that pain sounds horrid :( that makes sense about wanting her to stay put till xmas is out the way if she will more than likely need the lights, fingers crossed she cooperates!! how soon after your last shot did you have your others?

4blue2pink my turning in bed hasn't been too bad (was awful with ds2) but I've had a couple occasions of 'clunks' when rolling, like it feels (and sounds) like a dislocation popping into place [emoji50] I've spent a few nights in the recliner due to reflux or bad legs/feet (last night was a combo of both plus the feeling of not being able to breathe [emoji23]) should've gone out earlier as I only got maybe 5 hours sleep [emoji30] all of which was once I was comfortable in the recliner.

Bluebooties I sure hope that scenario doesn't play out with you being the only one around go do chest compressions!!! I agree too that your maternity leave conditions are absolute poo [emoji90]

Ash I hope you get through xmas before Esme makes her arrival! My mum thinks my bub may very well come early but my brain refuses to entertain the idea [emoji52] I have my most ideal delivery date and I cant even think of it changing [emoji23] I'm telling myself to get my hospital bag ready for just in case but just don't do it because maybe that would be inviting it too happen [emoji23][emoji23] None of my boys were early so I think I'm pretty safe....

pbn the clunk noise is grim isnt it, your right it does sound and feel like a dislocation popping back in!! i get that every time i try to turn over along with crunching and cracking sounds :-/ recliner sounds good!! wish we had one, im sleeping propped up on pillows every night thanks to the acid but even then sleep isnt great, suppose its getting me ready for when im up in the night with baby :)

I would have never got through my first pregnancy without my recliner!! I had this weird upper back pain that kicked in about 14 weeks. I could not sleep laying down in any position. I would wake in awful pain like a burning, tightening vice type feeling all across my upper to middle back. I tried propping up with pillows, cushions etc and no go. I started sleeping upright on the lounge with my legs down the chaise. I was working full time and can remember being in tears so many nights because I couldn't sleep [emoji22] the idea of a recliner popped in my head and then was the mission of finding one with a high enough back that was being sold separately. Finally found one at the back of a store in a odds/ends type section and oh my it was bliss [emoji38] so I spent the next 6 months sleeping in a recliner [emoji23] hated it by the end and was soooooo happy with ds2 I had no issues sleeping in bed at all!!

4b2p - I’m having the same pain in bed when I turn. What is it? It’s like it’s between my lady parts and my tailbone.
Pbn - I hope you have whichever gender you want, but I will say that I don’t have the line yet either and did with my first 2 girls. What day are you trying to schedule as your ideal day?! I’m hoping for 2/8, but I’ll be 39+5 so I’m a tad nervous I won’t make it. But, the only time I’ve gone in labor I was 40 weeks with my first. Hoping this works out!

Happy Monday!

Ash – definitely try to prolong your “vacation” until you’ve past the 37-w mark, the longer you can cook this lovely bun, the better ;) and if you must resume things with hubs, do use a condom, eh? The contact with the cervix could be enough to trigger labour but less than if you also have contact with semen :P
For my 1st I had those same pains in my upper right quadrant, along with swelling on one leg/foot – and they worried at first it was pre-eclampsia but my protein and BP were ok – so they put it down to baby pushing into that corner and acid!

Bluebooties – like PBN will just say, what a sh*t system :( the whole “you can have mat leave OR normal leave once only in a 12-m period” is just BS, I wish it was different – don’t you have savings so you could take some days of leave without pay possibly or is that not an option from your employer’s perspective? (I mean how do you do when you have sick kids, can’t you take days off, even without pay?) :( I hope that when you are on your days off you do get to put your feet up even just a little and rest up. Hope your shifts go as smoothly and easily as they possibly can for you! :hugs:
Oh a hairy baby – so cute! He/she will be adorbs :D My eldest had some dark hair at birth but then it thinned out and they only started looking girly at around 1 – and hated bows and co booohoohoo – so hope this one retains some locks (I should have a scan at 34 weeks so we should see if she is bald or is graced with a bit of hair haha).

4b2p - acid reflux/nausea can be felt concurrently – the reflux can cause that nausea so it’s likely that!! (when I was about 15-16 weeks, I thought my MS had returned after a week “off” but in retrospect it was the reflux making me feel nauseated). It is so unpleasant and even painful at times..
Haha, my 2 year old hates bows and co as well – only now is she sometimes allowing me to put in a hairtie as her locks on the forehead are bothering he rto see and I refuse to cut her goldilocks just yet :P however my 4 year old now is such a girly girl that we must do a hair do every morning (Elsa braid, anyone?? Lol)

PBN – I’ve only had girls so can’t tell you if the linea nigra makes any difference – I think it is just hormonal buuuut the fact that it is different could mean that maybe there is a girl in there ;)
Sigh, and yes, SPD is horrid too ..the things we have to go through, eh? Have you tried a belt to support your pelvis? Like Ash, I struggle the most at night and turning in bed or to get up to pee is agonising – wow, recliner for 6 months? You poor thing! I never even thought about it, would have saved my nights :P
They say the third is the wild card haha – what happens if you go into labour before the planned C-section date – just rush to hospital for an emergency section?

Kat you typed as I was finishing ;) your pain sounds like SPD?? The groin area just painful as….
How are you? Ready for your newest addition? Hope she arrives at the perfect time for you both ^^

Any news from anyone else? ;)

25 weeks today – 15 weeks to go tops! I remember when you were at your 15-week mark countdown PBN and look how quick that has gone, it felt it was just like a fortnight ago..eeeeekk!
This am I dropped off my eldest at vacation care – and as it was her 1st day there, the lady asked one of the kids to show her around – a little Sophia :D M gave me a knowing at me when the girl introduced herself haha and yesterday we introduced ourselves to our new neighbours, and M pointed at my belly saying ‘and this is Sofia !’ The kid is dead set on that name, so tried not to smile too much as hubs is not 100% yet but like that she likes it so much that for her, her baby sister could not be called anything else :P

Pbn3
December 10th, 2017, 11:03 PM
Lmsm that's just adorable your dd is calling her baby sister Sofia [emoji7][emoji173] I am certainly hoping I don't go into labour early, refuse to entertain the idea, I will happily stick my head in the sand at this point and pop it out the day before. But yes if I went into labour earlir than booked I'd undergo an emergency csection :)

Kat I'm genuinely excited about either gender. I honestly don't mean that to rub in the face on anyone still coming to terms and coping with GD but I can truly picture either gender fitting perfectly into our family. I cannot wait to stare at that tiny newborn face. My boys are both hoping for a girl, probably thinking a girl wouldn't annoy them like they annoy each other [emoji23] little do they know its more a sibling than gender thing [emoji6] My csection is scheduled for the 10th January which is my perfect date!!! I think even if I went into labour earlier I'd be like 'nope, this isn't happening, you need to cut this out now, we have 'x' amount of time left to get to the 10th' [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

When i am on my work weeks he is off and vice versa. Its a tough life but at least it eliminates dependence on after school care, nanny and the worry about sick leaves.

I guess if god forbid i do need extended leave for health reasons i can get then at half pay and that too only 6 weeks. But based on the time of year baby is coming i risk losing my vacation/aka paod leave and i am dying to take my vacation this year to visit my mom abroad

Well i got my results on the most recent Doppler sonogram and looks like there is starting to be some element of placental insufficiency. I am having a feeling my ob will recommend induction at 37 weeks rather than waiting till 39 weeks if this keeps up.

Makes sense Blue – every way of life has pros and cons, for sure…
I know it definitely is stressful having to juggle work/kids/no family/hubby that has a very demanding job (not that he gets paid well for it alas – that’s not for profit for ya!)- you can’t ever win regardless of the situation :( I just hope for your sake that things go as smoothly as they possibly can – you deserve a break!
Oh just saw that the placenta is playing up – is it calcifying? I know that it means bub struggles growing as the exchanges between mum and bub aren’t as good – so guess they will need to monitor you closely to see that growth isn’t stopping altogether - hope you see your OB soon, so you know where to go from here!! You’re only 32 weeks now right?

PBN – I do think mind over body does work to a certain extent so if you have your mind set on the 10th, as that is your section planned date – am sure this munchkin will wait - or let’s hope so :P
It’s stupid but I like the idea of the 8th of March – which is too early as would be barely 37 weeks – so I do hope she arrives after also so my mum can join us (hope she can), as with my history of fast labours am freaking out at the idea of having to leave the house in a hurry in the middle of the night with no one to care for the girls – having to leave hubby with them and me alone in an ambulance lol so have decided to think positive thoughts – she will be born on a Friday or Saturday night (so hubby can be there, and not have to be at work the next day) once my mum arrives only… let’s hope she listens! lol

Sent from my SM-G900I using TapatalkI was just hoping for a set induction date so i can arrange time off didn't matter when but now based on if this insufficiency keeps going the earliest safest for baby to be out is 37 weeks.

I go twice weekly for follow ups. Not much to do other than deliver baby when they feel baby is better off out then in.

LMSM - I love Caroline and Charlotte but DH doesn't. He is pretty set on Zoe so that is the top contender right now. I even did letters for the wall but I still feel unsure. Still no middle name yet though. I'd like something longer since Zoe is so short. I love Serena and Sierra! (but not to go with Zoe). Names are so hard. I'm glad you're feeling better! I could never grasp why men get so unmanly during sicknesses. And it's pretty cold here so I'd trade you if I could. We just had about 4 inches of snow on Saturday.

Dancing - do you feel ready? I'm not yet and I keep saying I have time but I know a day will come when that's a lie.:D

Bluebooties - I'm glad baby cooperated for you but sorry to hear about your round of antibiotics. Your work schedule sounds intense but I would enjoy those days off since I only have Sat and Sun off and it goes too quick. Our maternity leave isn't much here. I get 6 weeks off at 50-60% of my pay and then nothing and this is a privilege I pay for. And we only get 3 paid sick days and 5 vacation days a year and my year is up in March so I used 2 days before I got pregnant. I wasn't going to come back to work but my ex husband lost his job 4 months ago so my child support for my older 2 stopped completely about 3 months ago and he's not interested in finding work. I planned on going part time after baby came but now that won't happen unless he goes back to work before I go on leave.

4blue2pink - I've been nauseous for about 3 weeks now. It comes and goes. I threw up about a week ago but not since.

PBN - I started to reorganize last week and lost steam and now everything sits half done haha. And I never really had a dark line with either of my kids (all girls so I have nothing to compare it to).

I had my test done Friday but no results yet. I'm just going to wait until my next doctor's appointment which is next Monday unless they call sooner.

kat the pain is spd its not fun :(

bluebooties thats worrying about your placenta but if it means you get a scheduled induction then i can see how that works out better for you with time off etc, fingers crossed baby can stay put until at least 37 weeks

mommaxo3 Sierra is on my list for this baby if its a girl :) i went to school with a girl called Serena its a very pretty name!! fingers crossed your results come back negative for GD

38 weeks this week.. where are the weeks going?! its going by so fast :-/

Hi ladies,

That's no good blue about your.placenta. They'll obviously monitor it closely.
Funny you guys mentioned the linea nigra because my mum and I were talking about it the other day. I had a.super dark long one with dark areolas with DD and super sore and large boobs at the end. This time the tiniest hint of a line and my.nipples are only just a brown tinge and I still haven't gone up a cup size since like 14 weeks. Mum was like how bizarre you don't have it this time. Also with reflux and heartburn I had it terribly with my DD (gallbladder attacks and everything) and she came out with soooooo much hair. This time maybe a tiny bit of heartburn here and there but not really.

I really wouldn’t read too much into those symptoms, ladies. This pregnancy was completely different than my other girl pregnancies and much more like my boy. Almost no boob growth throughout the pregnancy, low baby heart rate, no sickness, etc. It was still a girl.

Yes very true each pregnancy is different and these symptoms mean nothing at all. My DD3 and my only sway was 360 degree opposite to my DD1 and DD2's pregnancies which were both alike and that gave me this hope that maybe my sway had worked but nope it was still a girl.

Had my weekly NST and thankfully baby cooperated.

Hi everyone. Sorry for being Mia. Nesting kicked in and I️ have been busy cleaning and organizing.
I️ have been trying to get things done but sometimes my body doesn’t cooperate because of low carb intake and no sugar. I have been trying
to read here and there to keep
Myself updated . I️ miss being active here.
Pbn - So close. I️ am so excited to see all your babies and know the gender for our team green ladies.
Bluebooties- That was quiet a scare you had and you have such a tiring work schedule. I️ am a huge grey’s anatomy fan so I️ totally freaked out when I️ read about running in to cpr when pregnant and with no one around. I️ pray that never ever happens. I️ hope you won’t have to
Deliver before 37 weeks. I️ am so scared about early delivery myself due to gd. I️ will start my nst from 15th. I️ am hoping this baby stays in until close to due date because I️
Keep Worrying about baby’s weight gain and health. Are they going to monitor placenta through nst or any other procedure?
Ash - Can’t believe you will
be 36 weeks next Monday. So excited for you. Sorry about throwing up again in the morning. That must be hard. When are you and the doctor expecting the baby to be here?
4b2p - I️ am super duper excited. Pls share everyone’s reactions. How many weeks are you now?
Dancingdiva- Not long to go. [emoji4][emoji4] Are you feeling ready for the birth?

LMSM - How are you hon? I️ love all your name choices on fb. It’s so hard to
Pick one. [emoji52] Curious to
Know the winner name. [emoji847]
I️ have also been experiencing the pain in my pelvic bone. The baby has been sitting very low and I️ felt it the entire pregnancy. The pain started last week. It’s like sore muscle ache. Now it just has become
a part of my pregnancy. [emoji854]
I️ still have a lot to do and feel like I️ don’t have enough time. I️ still
haven’t gained any weight and I️
Am in my almost 32nd week. Ok so I️ m so sleepy now. I️ am catching up on dd’s play dates these days so feeling tired now. We were busy the whole
Day. Will come back tomorrow. Love to
You all.

4blue2pink - My youngest daughter was almost Sierra Jade but we changed it a the week before she came. Her name is Dakota but we call her Kota often. 38 weeks is so exciting! Have the doctors checked you for dilation or do they not do that? Were your other kids early?

Bluebooties - I hope baby stays baking as long as it needs to be healthy and thrive.

Anyone else feel ready and not ready all at the same time? I have so much to do and no energy to do it, I'm so tired all the time.
Does anyone have any pump recommendations?

mommaxo3 Sierra Jade is gorgeous  love Dakota too!! Kota is such a cute nickname :) they dont check for dilation here so ive no idea if i am or not, all my others have been born in either the 39th or 40th week, im thinking very end of december or possibly early jan for this one :) are you guys going with the name Zoe?

Baby is breech and I am now scheduled to have her turned next Tuesday at 7:30a [emoji22] not gonna lie I’m kind of scared! All the talk about needing to make sure or is open in case of emergency c section.... giving meds to prevent labor... baby in distress.... cord around neck... this is what I heard. So baby gal may be here before Christmas after all! She’s weighing in about 5lb 4ozz now they said which seems right I had one at 35 who was 5lb2oz... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171212/18aa5de9f74c42b8cc9be0dcdb738677.jpg

I seen one of the other doctors this week and she felt around and said she thought she was breech and it was confirmed on the u/s... it’s like fate I guess because no if t weren’t for this demo they had today I would have not had another u/s before delivery and I had up until a few days ago always felt her hiccups down low. hopefully she flips herself back head down for you Ash!! my friend had the ECV done with her 2nd baby it was successful and she had a normal birth :) im surprised they are waiting so long to do it with you though given your history of early babies, did they say what they would do if you go into labour before next tuesday?

JUST QUickly, Ash..go the Spinning babies website to see the techniques to help baby without the ECV. Subsequent babies can change positions until late so seriously do everything you can to avoid the ecv .
I managed to flip DD1 who was transverse at 36 + weeks, into head down ...positions and acuponcture (with moxa) did the trick!! ;)

ASH. I had an ecv at 37 weeks with my baby girl. She was head down at 26 weeks but at my 29 week app she was breech and stated breech. They have to explain the risks with the ecv but it's all very rare. I was beside myself with stress and honestly the ecv was painless and quick it took about 20 seconds to turn her. It was nothing like I thought , I understand that until you have experienced it you can't relax but seriously it was absolutely fine.

4blue2pink I think they’re just banking on me not going into labor but she said to come in ASAP if I thought I was that they could do it while in labor but it could put baby into more distress.
LMSM I’ll check it out. I may call my chiro if the ecv doesn’t work

Ash that seems abit half-arsed of them when they know you go early!! :-/ though having said that over here breech isnt seen as a huge thing and vag birth is still the main way of delivery but i get the impression its not the same in the US?
i second spinning babies!! its well worth trying the positions especially since she is little and has lots of room to flip round :)

LMSM
December 12th, 2017, 06:43 PM
It’s definitely worth trying positioning to flip her – and if that still fails and you are not keen for a vaginal breech birth – then you could try the ECV ;)
It involves getting into what seems a tad silly positions, but it totally worked for me – my bubs like to lie in weird positions until late lol – but after a couple of days of exercises , they moved like nutcases for an hour or so and tada, next check they were (and stayed) head down :D
She is a cutie – hope she does her thing soon on her own so you don’t have to worry about an early(ier) arrival ;)

Mommyxo3 – Sierra Jade is a nice flowing name – and Dakota is super cute - :D

Like SRG – I have all girls, yet signs have been different – we can easily say after the fact “ oh that was different because this one was a boy/girl” but really, our bodies just react to pregnancy differently each time and each variation of “symptoms” bring no indication – I was dead sure this would be a boy based on early symptoms…and yet lol

Dancing – how are you? No signs of early arrival for bub?
How is your daughter?

Sky – lovely to see you here! (and soosh - don’t mention the no weight gain to women who are gaining tons lol).
When do school holidays start for your DD?
All settled in the house now?
Hope you can put your feet up a bit soon ;)
I’m knackered but surviving (just) lol it’s abit of a rush to drop off my eldest at vacation care, run off to catch the train/bus to get to work not too late, then rush out of the office to do the reverse but picking up DD2 from daycare before we stop on the way home to pick up DD1 before even starting the evening routine (and no DH in sight lol)… I will have a few days off as of Friday next week (this will be our summer break – not much but better than nothing!) so am looking forward to not having that running around as I can feel my body hates it (contractions, SPD, sciatica, you name it lol).

Can I just say - yayyyy we have a tradie in today – to look at putting up the walls to make that new bedroom for M – so we can then move E into M’s current room and I can reclaim the nursery for miss #3 :D a tad excited! I hope he can get started asap – as I want plenty of time to nest, clean, and get ready woohoo! :D
Also, anyone have major memory issues?? I cannot find my blue book (which is a small folder form hospital with my history – also had my script for my GTT in there_) – I need it for my middie appointment tomorrow and cannot for the life of me remember where it is - so it stresses me majorly lol

Ok better run, hope you’re all well – I now have to try to focus on work with someone hiccupping into my cervix lol

4blue2pink their thoughts are Breech delivery poses more risk than c section... I’ve never had one before so I’ll def. push hard for vag still if it’s even a possibility.
LMSM I checked out the site I’ll be trying a couple of the moves:.. dh will think I’m a nut case when I’m laying on an ironing board... hiccups in the cervix [emoji23] love it!

Good luck kat with ur appointment tomorrow.
A vaginal breech delivery is a possibility if certain criteria are met and for u ash as far i can recall u meet mostly all. I am thinking they scheduled ECV next Tuesday based on their next OR opening otherwise they could have done it sooner. But that's just my guess

Blue yes they wanted to wait until I was 36 weeks to do it. Which was Monday but it was booked. I’m going to try to do some of the inversion exercises and make sure I have my sewing finished up by Friday. Hopefully the worst part of this is having to leave the house by 4:30am to be at the hospital by 5:30 they want to have baby monitored for a bit before the dr comes so I’m staying positive baby can easily turn in 7 days and maybe I’ll just have to wake up early to go get an ultrasound to says she’s turned [emoji4]

That’s the spirit Ash – staying positive she will do it on her own :D
(yep, I get the strongest nudges right into my cervix when she hiccups, so assume she might be head down – but at 25 weeks I can tell from the ever changing shape of my belly that she doens;t stay that way – I swear sometimes it looks like I swallowed either an ostrich egg or a giant banana lol)

Kat – good luck with the appointment – come and tell us about it when it’s done! ;)

4blue2pink - Most likely Zoe but stuck on a middle name still but we haven't really discussed it too much, we have time yet.

Ash - Sorry about the breech status. Mine is also breech but doctor said they won't be concerned until 37 weeks so I have some time yet (I'm 32 weeks). I hope she turns for you on her own though! And she's adorable!

Also I passed my 3 hour glucose test. I'm relieved but annoyed that I had to take a day off of work for the test that I failed by just a few points the first time.

mommaxo3 yay for passing the GD test :) Zoe is such a cute name  but is a tough one to find a middle for, i had the same issue with my DD1 her name is Wren and its really hard to get it to flow with any middle name!!

Ash id 100% push for vag delivery too unless they tell you something on the scan that indicates it'd be insanely dangerous to do so, there are loads of positive normal vag breech birth stories out there (though obviously we want her to flip :D) but it may be worth just looking at some positive stories anyway

Well ladies I have had quite a day.

First off ran from work to get my biophysical and baby failed it by not taking the required no of practice breaths. Then MFM comes in to say that today the flow in the cord was consistently restrictive as compared to last week when it was intermittent but that since baby hadnt lost any further weight she will not worry now but wants me induced at 37 weeks.

Then since i had failed my Biophysical they had to do an NST b4 they could let me go and this new totally clumpsy nurse came in put me in a recliner as opposed to the exam table as they normally do and put my feet up head down kind of akward position. Soon after i started having severe strong contractions and they could see it on NST so got my pelvic exam and i am 1 finger dilated and 75% effaced.

Also i think this new nurse gave away baby's gender as she didnt know i was team green. She came in saying "just checking to see if she is still hooked up meaning to the NST heart probe, then realized her mistake and said "u dont know what ur having right?" I said no and she gave a frustrated look and left the room.

Dh thinks if she was a new nurse she couldn't have known the sex even if was written in my files. But i think she did.

Anyway i went off work early, still have off on contractions, irregular now but pain wise stronger than braxton's so lets see how it goes.

Ahhh i need a break !!

bluebooties im sorry youve had such a stressful day, what is with these nurses/midwives giving gender clues!! first it happened to shann and now to you, can i ask why baby's gender would be in your notes? is that a standard thing for them to record gender even if parents dont find out? do you think she just said "she" out of habit? though having said that they shouldnt say either he/she they should just say "baby!!" fingers crossed these contractions go away and baby does ok on your scans and stays put till 37 weeks for you  the outfits you posted on facebook are gorgeous :)

Saw a terrible dream where my collegues and class mates are all there and we have an exam to take but i cant access the web page to take the exam and no one will help me. Bluebooties - I don't think the nurse really gave any info away by that comment. You're still safely team green in my opinion. I feel like some people refer to baby as he or she when they don't know what it is. I hated calling my babys "it" until I knew the gender. And I hope your contractions didn't stay too long. That all sounds so stressful! I'm thinking of you and your baby and hoping baby stays in to bake a bit longer!

Ash - I keep making comments that the baby is going to dip her toe out and pull it back and say "nope too cold out there." lol We just had our 2nd snow storm of the season and December just started! Today is the kid's first snow day of the school year.

Yes contractions stopped coming around 7 to 8 pm last night. Had then start at 2 pm then they became more and more spaced out. Did get my bag all set just in case. Now i am planning for arranging time off so we can get the induction at 37 weeks as recommended. That would mean somewhere around the 2nd week of January instead of the previously scheduled at 22nd January.

4b2p - yep, this will be my third csection, only positive is I get to plan it. 1st one was horrible as my water broke and I labored for 14 hours and never dilated past a 3 and ended up in csection and I didn’t wanna try for a Vbac with my 2nd for various reasons. But, my csection with my 2nd was a super great recovery so hoping this one will be too. I am jealous of your home births though!
Nurse called today and said she can only schedule with hospital a month out so she will call January 3rd and let me know! Then I just gotta hold this baby in for 40 weeks which has never been a problem before but I guess you never know!

Just a brief (for me lol) message

Well done for passing the test Mommaxo3! ;)
Like you, agree that it seems so impersonal to name baby “it” when gender is unknown – I often have seen people say he/she randomly to avoid just that ;)
…so Blue, hope that it is just that, and agree, unless there was an illness that is gender specific, no need for gender to be on file, really ;) hope the rest helps with keeping bub in for longer! Sounds like the contractions were stress induced with all the stuff that happened yesterday. Hopefully they don’t come back for a while!

Kat yeah for your date being agreed upon – you’re sur eyou don’t wanna do the 7th instead? That would be my Bday lol

Sky – so glad you are all settled in! Look at it this way, you may feel big, but if you’re not putting on weight – then as soon as that baby boy is out, you will look like you never were pregnant as no extra weight to lose ;) Plus you look gorgeous whether you want to see it or not ;)

Yesterday had my first MGP appointment – so you basically meet at the clinic, with the midwives and other mums due around the same time – they ALL were second time mums with one boy and expecting a girl (bar one 1st timer who was team green) – even the other middie did the “wow three girls” thing (not in a good way) when I told my story when we were introducing ourselves – you can tell they just feel sorry for you – why is that? Do people have that reaction when people announce a third (or more) boy?? I really feel like boys are the trophy gender, still… so the veteran I was felt a bit of an outsider with all these pigeon-pair mums :P
My cheeky munchkin was kicking the middie when she tried the Doppler so she has to literally hold her in place with her hand so she could check her heart lol weight – well, let’s just say I hope I don’t gain too much over Xmas as am already well beyond what I’d expected :P
Will do my GTT in the New year (followed by my anti-D injection), so a bit on the late side but lots of pathologies close over the holidays – and need to wait for my midwife to send me new scripts for the tests, as I still can’t find that darn booklet with all my medical file (sigh).

Thinking of you all – hope you ladies in the cold weather don’t have any issues with the snow, then ;)

Kat im glad you enjoyed your c-section with DD2 fingers crossed you get another really good one this time :D im terrified of anything medical/surgical i dont know how c-section mums do it!!

LMSM why do they make you meet with all the other mums? and believe me having a 3rd/4th+ boy here is met with nothing but negativity and pity from everyone, even strangers!! ive had people cross the street just to make a pitying comment to me about 4 boys and no girl.. girls are the trophy gender in the UK big time!! though i think most people view one of each as *the perfect family* as they only want 2 kids and big families aren't common or really liked!! 2 girls is pretty equal to one of each for *perfection* with many people hoping for 2 girls and then 2 boys is seen as the worst combo, nobody openly hopes for it and people feel sorry for all boy mums. i find it crazy to imagine it being the other way around, do you not think that midwife would have said anything in a bad way if you had said you were having your 3rd boy?

So my waters broke 2.30am Wednesday morning at 38 weeks 4 days (only had 4 days off work!!!) Car seat not even in the car!
Had a fairly quick labour with no pain meds or epidural which i had with my DD. No tearing or anything and.... Had my BOY!!! 6 pound 6 ounces (2.9kg) and 48cm. Exact same weight and length as my DD. He came 10 days early and we are completely in love with him! Hubby helped deliver him and we absolutely bawled when he told me it was a boy...I even asked "are you sure?!" My DD met her brother yesterday and she just held hisbhand and stacked toys on him to "share" hahaha. We named him Alec to honour my DH's grandfather and great grandfather, middle name is Scott which is my husband's first name.
My sway worked and I whole heartedly believe it was because of swaying that we got our boy.
Can't wait to hear when more babies arrive ladies!!!

Bluebooties - If your baby is a girl it's not really something you "failed" at since it's just the luck of the draw. And a fun fact...men determine the sex so when his mom makes comments you can always throw that in there.

Skyblue - I never used the diaper genie. I have always used those metal trash cans with the lid and the foot petal. We just changed it every two days or so to avoid the smell. But good job on getting things organized! I wish I had any energy at all.

LMSM - I think people do it for both genders if you only have 1 gender. I remember when the family next door moved in with 4 boys all close in age and I thought "wow they must be busy." I later found out the 4 boys had 3 different dads and were all unplanned so it wasn't like they were trying for a girl. They did have a girl a few months later but was another father. The mother even made a comment to me when she found out we're on girl #3 and I really wanted to call her some choice words because their kids are terribly mannered and unsupervised and never properly dressed no matter the gender so I don't feel like she needs to be worrying about my house. But there's a sweet old lady that lives across the street who had 4 girls and 1 boy and said she would much rather have had 5 girls so it is a matter of preference and opinion.

Dancing - How exciting! Congrats on your little guy!

OMG ladies ahhhh !
So i told u bit ago that our job made some new changes and rearranged our benefits etc and now we wont get paid sick day that we used to get b4.
Anyway this new policy starts Jan 1st. And my husband suggested why not i call HR deptt and see if FMLA underwent any changes and so i did and they r telling me that based on the new changes as long as baby comes after jan 1st i CAN get a separate FMLA with 60%pay AND get to take vacation in june
I cant believe it !!!
She is sending me papers now.

I am not sure of how much paid maternity leave i am getting. I have to call a third party who is now regulating these for my employer to get further info and forms.
I know bcoz with dd3 (2016) (same employer) i was told i will have to use up all my remaining paid time off i.e vacation and sick leave b4 employer will give me FMLA.
I have had 2 kids in the US and this happened each time.
I cant believe i will actually get to enjoy a maternity leave ... i am still pinching myself to check this isnt a dream ... o i so desperately need some rest thank you God !!!

this sounds like its going to fit perfectly with your planned induction :D and yes you really do need some rest  where were you living when you had your first baby? did you find the maternity leave etc to be better there? im really shocked at how bad and unfair the US system is!!

I was post med school preparing for my USMLE/medical entry eligibility exams for the US when i had my first so didn't need leave to worry about time off. She was 6 months old when i started my medical job in USA.

Lmsm i dont know if you will have any airport wait times between ur flights on ur summer trip or not but just say this and thought u might like it. I am planning to get one as i have a 10 hour airport stay during my entire travel next summer.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171215/6c9e07e81581d25308743dfc7a71a68f.jpg

Dancingdiva- Hearty Congratulations on the arrival of your boy. I️ m so happy for you and your family. Enjoy your little bundle of joy and can’t wait to see the pics. ❤️
Bluebooties- Such a wonderful news. I am so happy that you will have the peace of mind while waiting for the baby and will enjoy the leave afterwards. You need a break after such a tiring schedule. Yay.
Mommaxo3 - I️ was thinking exactly the same things instead of buying the genie. I️ mean to buy a metal one with foot pedal and take it out every two days. Hate wasting money. [emoji52] Thankyou.
LMSM - You are the sweetest. I️ am actually curious to see how I would look once the baby is out. I️ am going to eat more once the baby is out because I have given up so much this pregnancy [emoji52] but the goal is to get back to healthy eating and not over indulge.

LMSM you get the comments with Boys also trust me!
Dancing OMGGGGG!!!!!! Congrats
Blue!!! So happy leave will get better for you! You need the rest. That’s great!
Sky I have a genie but mostly use cloth diapers so i throw them in a pail with a lid after I rinse them off. My genie doesn’t get to full I only use disposable at night time. But I can say I HATE when it gets full and I have to change it [emoji23]

Sky i think i missed ur post about the diaper genie ? Are u asking for reviews ?

I have owned a diaper genie elite for like nearly 8 years now. Used it on my first and second then put away in storage ( glad as it came in handy for DD3) and now i will use it for this baby. The older elite version is great. Sturdy hands free and i change it once a week to twice a week depending on kids age etc.

I.m sure you get comments too with all boys, wasn’t implying that not...it’s just people seem to go ‘ good luck to you, three girls that will be teenagers ...you.re in for hell’ kinda of a response which I don’t feel you get for boys (stereotypes yadiyada...though people probably assume small boys are a handful and small girls easier and it switches at teenage years which we all know is not always true lol)

Bluebooties, won’t be having long layovers at airports, we chose the absolute fastest routes either way so Bub will be in the sling :) and whilst on the plane probably in the bassinette if we can get one!!
But for you with a 14h stopover, it looks like a good option. What airport are you stopping at for so long ? Some airports have free strollers you can borrow up until boarding :)

Some airports have free strollers you can borrow up until boarding :)We have to stop at 2 airports inside usa and one international. Dallas texas airport is where we have the longest stay over. Our state has no international airports so we need to fly through connections. I will take my tula for baby and stroller for DD3. Then this bassinet for when baby and i need a break from the tula.
