How do we transition from folic acid to prenatals? I was taking 800mg folic acid a day. I'm also worried that all of a sudden eating things like meat that I have been avoiding will be too much shock. Should I gradually add it in? I got a faint bfp and I'm cautiously optimistic and can't wait to eat like normal again! Thanks!

Blushingbaby you need to take prenatal vitamins, but you also need to co tongue your folic acid until 12 weeks of your pregnancy! Congrats!

Start taking a prenatal now and if your prenatal has at least 800 mcg of folic then you'll get enough through just your prenatal. You can slowly ease back into regular eating although if you want to just get back to it now, it's fine.

It's fine to start eating meat again, maybe ease into it just for giggles but most can handle it just fine.

continue 800 total folic (or more, so if taking 800 add the prenatal TO that) until end of first trimester and then come off it by gradually spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop it.

If limiting sodium do ease back into that gradually
