1st round of clomid! Cd15 follicle 19mm can anyone help me with ovulation testing

Iv just done one and the line is non existent.

What do I look for? If my follicle is 19mm when am I likely to get my ph surge?

Unfortunately, we can’t tell you when you will ovulate based on this information. It should be soon, but everyone is different. Keep using your opks every day around 10am-2pm (unless your using the purple clear blue advanced opks). You should get a positive opk, but some people do not ever get a positive opk while on Clomid.

Another option is to BD every 4 days starting today. For example, BD today Wednesday, then Saturday, then Tuesday, etc. until your AF starts. This way, you won’t have to rely on opks to have your attempt.

Hmmm. I️ am inclined to say yes to every 4 days for now. Atomic will come on and give her recommendation based on your DH’s sperm motility. It’s possible you may need more attempts just to get pregnant.

Definitely have an attempt now, and we should come up with a plan on how many more soon.

Should I contact my clinic? My follicle yesterday was 19mm and my doc suggested I should ovulate any time from yesterday till the weekend. Shouldn't the opk start to pick up my surge?

Sometimes the hormone just doesn't make it out into your urine in a high enough concentration to make the tests go positive.

Today being 7 days after positive opk Iv had tugging pains and cramping on my left hand side. Trying so hard not to symptom spot but it's so hard not too!

O pains don't tell you what side you ovulated on in any reliable way.

If an ultrasound told you you ovulated from the right, then you did, and you could not have then, 3 days later, ovulated from the left. The corpus luteum suppresses any further ovulation so the pains you felt on the left were most likely achiness as the eggs that weren't ovulated were reabsorbed.

Hi atomic I think I'm out brown discharge starting today and negative test at 12dpo. So waiting for cd2 to start clomid again. Can we try anything else this month? We did two attempts at pos opk this month by accident but I'm inclined to say I don't want to go down to one as it might be waistline time. Is all the alcohol and coffee still ok? Is there anything I can do for my husbands motility? Thank you again xx

I want you doing every 4 days plus one more attempt at pos OPK. Do the e4d both before and after ovualtion that way if you O sooner or later than u think you will, you're still going to be covered.

Try cutting back a little on coffee and alcohol. I don't think that's what the prob is but just in case.

having regular sex every 4 days is the best thing you can do for sperm health!

Well cd1 started today.

I don't know my doctor said sounds like I ovulated when I did which coincides with my af arriving when spotting started. If I did I think it was 3/4 days after which was tues/wed we dtd Sunday night then Thursday do you think I left it too long?

So disheartening I feel like giving up. Told my husband that there's no point he's not or willing to change his diet he keeps putting weight on and Iv struggled to stick to the diet because Iv felt so low. I'm almost a vegetarian so no meat. But Iv gained weight. Feeling a little low today.

Most of our husbands would do nothing to sway and mine absolutely did gain weight. It matters for you more than him.

after your one attempt then please pick it up with e4d after that just in case of delayed O. I don't know that that happened but just to rule it out.

Tell me everything you guys did including little things that don't seem important and I'll tell you what to change.

DH- cranberry, licorice root, mag, cal
Me- I have pcos, metformin,clomid, mag, cal
Me- gave up meat in July, no breakfast, coffee over tea, pineapple at 1dpo for a few days, kept feet warm after ovulation and tummy warm( suffer with freezing feet and cold midriff)
Every 4 days, 1 attempt at pod opk, and one extra by accident then 4 days after.

Second month

DH- mag,cal, wellman ( he has 80% bad motility out of 40 mil sperm) acupuncture 4 days before ovulation.
Me- metformin,clomid, no meat, lost 4lbs, no breakfast, kept tummy warm and feet after ovulation, acupuncture 4 days before ovulation
We had one attempt day before pos opk then at pos opk then two days after so we did more than even every 3 days. We didn't have any more attempts then this cycle as I had to have a sigmoidoscopy as was having bowel issues.

My clinic is likely to suggest ivf after this as they aren't sure iui would be any more beneficial as my body has responded well to clomid

You need to keep going with the every 4 days even after ovulation. I want you to continue those e4d attempts both before and after ovulation. You aren't being covered in case of early or late ovulation which is the whole point of the e4d.

I would add in female orgasm for you and then either Preseed (small amounts) or guaifenesin for you.

Forgot to message everyone mention no orgasm, alcohol as well. With all my three boys I conceived with orgasm. Maybe that helps with pushing things upwards as that's one of the big things we've changed!

So going forward e4d, preseed, and orgasm. Would you recommend every other day? That's why Iv been advised by my clinic?

It does seem to boost odds of conception somewhat.

I do not recommend every other day for conception OR swaying. It's a blue friendly pattern and worse, it actually doesn't boost chances of conceiving that much because it's super easy to end up with attempts on O-4 (too early), O-2, and O Day (which is often too late) well, that's only one attempt! And even with O-5 (way too early), O-3 (iffy), and O-1 that is still only two, possibly even one attempt. That is not going to boost chances of conception much.

I much prefer you guys doing e4d and then adding in another attempt at positive OPK. This can only ever really be 2 attempts in the fertile window (because even if the attempts land on O-3 and O Day (plus the pos OPK attempt) if anything is left from O-3 and pos OPK attempt, it will already have fertilized the egg before the O Day attempt would have been deposited and capacitated.

Ok thank you. So how exactly does every4 days work? Starting from when? And adding the extra attempt at pos opk.

I don't get it because last month we bd cd17, pos opk cd18 bd again then bd again cd20 how did I miss it?

My first cycle we every 4 days then at pos opk and 4 days after.

My mind is boggled!

Another problem is on cd 16 i normally have a 19mm follicle so by cd18/9 when I normally ovulate it would be ready to be released if I was ovulating any later than that it would probably be over mature don't you think maybe poor egg quality is what the issue is?

I'm going to ask my clinic to use a hcg shot on my this cycle i know they don't like using it with clomid but I believe I need the egg to be released when it's ready and don't want the chance of it being poor quality. Do you know where to get hcg shot from if they say no?

Some months just aren't the month. That's all. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong, it just means conception didn't happen for whatever reason.

To do e4d I want you to start the day after AF ends or your last day of Clomid and then just BD every 4th day (so a Monday/Thursday pattern, not those particular days, that's just an example) but keep going after you think you've ovulated. I am not saying you missed it necessarily but it is entirely possible to O before CD 17 or after CD 20 so we need to cover in case that happens. It may not have happened previous months but it could in upcoming months and you need to be covered if you O early or later. Then in addition to that pattern, do the OPK and have one more attempt whenever that falls (while continuing the e4d pattern just as it is.)

"Overmature" eggs has not really proven to be the thing it was once thought to be. I would try not to worry about that. I'd ask about the HCG shot if it matters to you (and in that case you'd BD your extra time the night of the shot and not worry about OPK!)

A different doc like an OB might be willing to do the HCG shot.

You can start it after your last dose of Clomid, just the dose on the bottle every day.

you can continue till ovulation or 3-5 days after. It's not harmful so you can take it for a while without causing any ill effects.

Either Preseed OR guaifenesin. I would not do both. Yes, they may sway blue. There is, unfortunately, no way to boost odds of conception without doing things that may sway somewhat blue.

My directions were for ovulation and not HCG shot. HCG shot works differently since we know for a fact it will make you ovulate. e4d covers in case of delayed ovulation which, if you have HCG won't happen since it forces O to occur. So yeah with HCG you won't do the every 4 days but still may want to squeeze in another attempt.

It is up to you if you want to do another attempt or not. I can't tell you if husband's sperm will last or if they won't. If you want better odds of conception, have another attempt, if you want better odds of pink, stick with one attempt. personally I'd do another attempt since this is your last month but it is up to you.

Fertilzation depends on a lot of different things - can be anywhere from right away to 12-24 hours after ovulation. We jsut can't pin it down any closer than that.
