Dr Brad Armstrong from Greenslopes is amazing and lovely. He is in full support of GS and works in conjunction with HRC. He is south side though.

Have you completed the GS process?

Yes, I sure have. I just had my first pick up last month and have been fortunate enough to have a positive. I’m only early days but I was successful.

Thanks hon :) for me it still is a distant maybe option, but want to know what it truly implies..
How do you even broach it with the doctor?
How did you get your treatment? Was it all of pocket?(assume so)...
How did you coordinate everything, cost of the cycle?
So many things lol

Oh just saw your cycle was positive.massive congrats!!!! :awe:

You dont have to talk to your dr, just speak with Brad Armstrong. He is completely onboard and has many patients every month go over.
We can put you in touch with the contact at HRC and they send through your plan and then Brad assists in implementing it. It’s actually very straight forward.
Yes, all out of pocket. No Medicare rebate.
It costs $25k all up for everything. Meds, flights, accommodation, pick up at HRC.
There’s lots to learn but the more you follow on here and ask, the more you’ll be prepared.

Thanks so much !
I was initially looking at Hawaii, because closer etc – so thought logistically it’d be easier and cheaper..
But yikes, $25K – no way ever hubby would agree to that (I had more $15K ish all in in mind for some reason, which I thought I could start squirrelling away for over the next 18-24m) – unless we win the lotto… sigh
Seems like that baby boy will never join us:tissue::tissue::tissue:

Yes, it’s a very expensive journey. It’s $15k US so you have conversion and then all additional costs on top of that. It adds up!
There are other clinics that I believe are cheaper but I have no idea of details. You could ask on here, people would be able to assist.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

It is an expensive journey indeed – so happy for you that it succeeded after such a big investment financially, emotionally and physically!!! I’ve been on the “lighter” side of fertility treatments the 2 first times, and have a dear friend who has gone through so much heartache with IVF so have been on the sidelines supporting her, it certainly is not something you do would chose to do unless there was another choice.
Thanks for the heads-up – at least I have a clearer idea of what to expect… though it probably also means it’s just not going to happen, as I can’t just hop over an do it myself, I need my husband to be onboard... (would be easier though :P)* goes to get a Powerball ticket* lol

Hope the pregnancy progresses well and that you have a lovely bundle of joy in your arm come July! ;) (assume you are due in July sometime? )
xx
