Jumping onto here too.
I'll be testing Dec 4th week on... Af is due Dec 10th.
Hoping for a bfp before ivf with gender selection in Jan. Re will prob put me onto BC for Dec before my cycle so I won't get another shot on our own.
This is it for my swaying journey. Feels so odd saying that since I've been on it for over 2 years now [emoji22]

Hi everyone! Super excited to begin swaying. Excuse the long post. I’m planning to ttc late jan/early feb and thought I’d begin the process.
Supplements:
Daily.
-Fish oil 210mg
-Ginseng 500mg
-Multivitamins (Zn 10mcg, vit D 400 IU, folic acid 200mcg, selenium 32mcg etc)
Plan to stock up on.
-Vit D tabs for DH and myself. Finished one that was combined with calcium.
-EPO (never used)
-Folic acid? I think I’ll get the folate ones.
Tracking.
- BBT (thermometer just arrived)
- opk (got 10 cheap tests with thermometer planning on ordering more cheap ones and clear blue for actual ttc month (purple?blue?pink? Help)
*going to be my first month tracking [emoji33][emoji16]
Diet:
Morning.
-Celery green juice OR lemon-ginger-turmeric-honey tea)
- Porridge with dates cinnamon OR Muesli (fruit n nut) OR avocado baked beans toast. 1/2-3/4 cup full fat milk with each option
Snack
-Cucumber mint juice OR lemon lime juice
- Nuts (some salted)
Lunch
- blue berry-wheat grass-spirulina-banana-orange-coriander-maca powder smoothie.
- a fruity eg half a melon or papaya or apple etc
Early supper
- high protein (meat/fish/quinoa/lentils)
-high veges
-Sweet potato/potato/sometimes rice or pasta but rarely these days.
Snack
- something sweet (carbs)
- ginger-thyme-lemon-fennel seed tea
Misc:
-Use sea salt to cook and try to generously season food with it to get a good amount of sodium.
-Even though winter- expose myself to sunshine every moment I can.
-Sleeping well lately. Used to be insomniac when I was ttc DD.
Exercise:
-None yet. Not really active but want to begin light lifting weights today especially with recent muscle wasting I noticed.
I’m fully committed and invested in this. If I end up ttc a girl then no harm done! If anything mummy will be healthier albeit heavier. [emoji6]
Anything I missed? Tips? Corrections?
Oh and planning to temp vaginally, what should I clean thermometer with? Any rules?

I am using some i purchased from Amazon, not sure of the brand. I tested around 10.30am for the first two days and the added another later in the evening the last two days.
To be honest it is the most i have had since TTC, I've always had nothing at all until this month so hopefully moving in the right direction. :fx:

Are those sufficient on their own or would a clear blue back up help? Seen a couple people use them in tandem. I’m not sure when my O is and planning to find out this dec.

I’d recommend the dual clear blue digital. As they picked up my peak, but I never got a true positive on the wondfos. Again everyone is different how their bodies react.

Our diets sound similar :)!
My step dad owns a chartering(fishing) business so I am blessed with fresh salmon, I eat it for one dinner and one lunch a week 🤤.
Everything I’ve been doing for ttc blue is polar opposite of when I conceived my two little ladies!! I am so excited to really start trying!

We may end up waiting for January also, we haven’t 100% decided! My husbands job is moving us by January 1st and we just can’t decide if we want to try right before we move or a couple weeks after we move. I’d like to not continue to gain weight though, [emoji85].

Filzma that all sounds great! I'm not up to date with latest and greatest info blue or pink sway wise but sounds like you're on the right track. Copy that post and paste it into a new thread (create one) under the ttc a boy forum for confirmation from Atomic though if that suits? In relation to digi opks, I definitely prefer the dual hormone ones that use fmu!!! So much easier and less stress than trying to limit fluids and doing holds etc plus I like the fact it tracks two hormones :) But some get frustrated with flashing smileys before the solid so kinda depends on your temperament I guess? With cleaning the thermometer for vaginal temping I just used alcohol wipes/swabs that I bought from my local pharmacy/chemist.

I read that it was good to test between 10am-8pm, but i have tried most different times to be honest. I had a very faint line yesterday so am going to test again today, will try between 1-2pm.
We did BD over the weekend and Monday so hopefully timed it right (don't think that is any good for the sway though).

Jp15 if its easier than trying for one attempt at pos opk you could always switch to e4d to get your one attempt in fertile window. No need to worry about opks that way, just stick to (example) cd8, cd12, cd16 etc all cycle long or until bfp [emoji3] so three full days between bds. Otherwise just keep on testing as your surge should surely start coming in any day now. Stick to 1-2pm and again between 7-8pm if you feel like it, are you restricting fluids for a few hours beforehand and holding for at least 2?

Jp15 fluids can really dilute a urine sample and affect your reading when testing. If this cycle is a bfn I'd strongly suggest using the clearblue dual hormone (purple) digis next cycle that use fmu.

Yes probiotics are recommended for a blue sway!!
I am taking just these basic cheap ones, but these need you to take three a day and I hate having to remember another three things to take so as soon as I’m done with this bottle I’m going to switch to one that only requires you to take one a day.
You can find probiotics in your refrigerated health section at the grocery store or order off amazon. I believe the better strains require refrigeration, but maybe Atomic will chime in.

IMO any little bit helps. Its the diet and one attempt that are the biggest factors for pink sway, the exercise has also shown excellant results if you can manage it as well. Everything else you do just adds to this I think :) Nothing on its own us magic though. I've always been a big coffee drinker (like 2-3 a morning when not pregnant) and have two boys plus I would've considered myself a moderate drinker (alcohol). I almost always had at least one drink a day, most times more. But my diet and exercise was strongly blue.

Just thought I'd better clarify to allow for time zones. It's Friday here tomorrow so that would be the 4th day if my last bd was monday. I'm not sure what whether tomorrow is Thursday or Friday where you are. What you want is three full days between bds and dtd on the 4th. Example if you bded Monday then you dtd again Friday, then Tuesday, then Saturday etc etc You count forward in 24 hour increments if that makes sense :)

Hey girls hoping to be in this thread but still waiting on my first ppaf- I've been swaying since may this year and had hoped to start ttc around September but my cycles haven't returned yet due to bf.
any tips on how to get af back while bf? My Lo is 1 now but not a great sleeper!

Hi y’all took vit D and the probiotic earlier this evening and had some dinner. Feel like throwing up. Normal?

I don’t think vit d or a probiotic should make you feel nauseous. But I’m not positive. I’ve never had that issue with either supplement

With my dd2, I cut a night feeding out around 9-10 months because she was waking wanting it so often I had to cut it to get some decent sleep and within two weeks of that cut I got my first ppaf.

Hi and welcome kittendreams! Sorry I have no advice on how to speed things up when bf but maybe start a thread under the ttc naturally general discussion forum? You'll hopefully get a variety of answers from quite a number of women [emoji4] I know of 2 family members who fell pregnant while breast feeding so it is possible, but I'm not sure if their cycle had returned in some way... One I know was shocked as her doc told her she wouldn't conceive while bf. Are you dtd unprotected for now?

Kittendreams – happy to see you on a TTC thread!
It’s only when I dropped all night feeds that I finally got consistent ovulatory cycles (had cycles for 8 months or so before that, but probably not ovulatory, at least not all the time).
If there is any way you can try to drop night feeds (or at least one, if multiple), that will up the chances of AF showing up (having said that, you can conceive before that 1st PPAf).
FX for you my dear – truckloads of pink dust headed your way!!!! :D

Thanks for the welcome and advice girls- so when you say cutting a night feed do you mean offering a formula bottle in the night I nstead of the breast?
Thanks Pbn I conceived ds2 while still bf ds1 so I thought this time would be just as easy but ds2 feeds in the night while ds1 slept through from 3 months but fed all day long, so I think the night feeds are the main problem.
I am temping but no shifts yet but heaps of cramps and pinching in last two months. Sometimes I think the witch is coming and then nothing... so annoying!

Hi mummy2boys! Greydore and dreamingrainbow both got bfps [emoji3]
I see on your charts that you haven't used opks since July? Is that right? I was going to suggest if you consistently o day after pos opk I'd probably hold off especially if you're really wanting only one attempt. If you're ready to up your odds of conception but lessen your sway odds in the number of attempts side of it then I'd go ahead and dtd again. You've been at it a long time now and I think you're at the point that atomic herself would be telling you to introduce the extra attempt at pos opk.... how do you feel about it?

Hi all - moving over to this board. Got another bfn today. Probably 9/10 dpo and bfn was on a frer. Feeling like I'm out. And now I'm sick - everyone in my house has a cough/cold/respiratory thing and apparently I have it now. My DS1 spiked a temp of almost 105 degrees F the other day and it was terrifying how sick he was. Thankfully he's much better now.
Anyways - so with my son's sickness and the BFNs and being sick now too, I'm pretty down. Have had a few huge crys the past few days including this morning.
Hope everyone else is well.... haven't read through the posts on this board yet but will try to scan through it. Glad to see you back Mummy - was thinking about you the other day & wondering how things were going!

Mummy2boys given your age I would definately be attempting again tonight. We (us older moms :) ) simply don't have the time and luxury to keep trying to conceive from one attempt for an extended period of time.... Its entirely your decision of course, if you're really uncertain leave it at one attempt this month but I'd move onto adding an additional attempt at pos opk regardless of when your last attempt was if there's next cycle.

I think I've really Ballsed up this cycle. Dd5 got hold of my thermometer and wiped the temp on cd13. CD 14 I got my pos opk as usual, then that night Dh said he didn't wand to dtd :( i usually tell him as soon as I have a pos, but i didnt this time as he always says it feels like work. So time passed by (even tho he knew by now) and we didn't bd until 1am cd15
So because he may have a low sperm count I thought it was better not to bd in the am and wait, but then my temp went up that day?? We didn't dtd again until 5pm I thought for sure it was too late and cd14 was O day, but my temp was slightly down today so no crosshairs? I'm really confused.
Any suggestions?

Hi BBB!! Good to hear from you!
Ok so whenever I test with a FRER I keep getting this faint line that shows up immediately but then kinda fades after a few minutes. There's a tiny bit of color in the lines but not much. And after like 15 minutes the line is pretty much gone. I know that it's not a positive but why are the FRERs doing this? I've never seen this happen before. I know about evap lines but I thought those showed up after the test dries? And it's been a few days of this and different packs of FRERs so it's not just a faulty batch.

BBB do you think you ended up w/ 2 attempts? I know that's not the most "boy friendly" - but fwiw I conceived DS1 with 2 attempts and I believe they were the night before O and the night of O day - so that 2nd one may have been too late!

BBB I'm still not convinced you oed going by your temps. Also want to add that I conceived ds1 dtd maybe 3 times in my fertile window but eod (only 2 attempts at most would have counted) and ds2 was conceived with a PM attempt day before and AM attempt day of o (so possibly only one but technically two attempts) so don't get too hung up on the whole number of attempts. Ok so what is going on. I did another FRER late today (I don't know why), and looked at it for a couple of minutes or so and it looked negative so I put it down and walked away. Went back to the bathroom a little while ago and was going to throw it away and when I looked at it again, there is a faint line, that has some pink in it. It's very faint but visible. Is this just an indent? Do I disregard because it was like, I don't know maybe an hour after I had taken the test? I have never seen this before with FRERs.
AHH!! I'm losing my mind here with these tests!

Really, mtolbert? Is a pink line that shows up after the time limit valid though? I don't know if I even waited the full 3 or 5 minutes you're supposed to wait before I walked away - I assumed it was negative - so maybe it showed up not long after, but whenever I have gotten a bfp on a FRER (including my m/c) the line shows up right away.

I don't know if I even waited the full 3 or 5 minutes you're supposed to wait before I walked away - I assumed it was negative - so maybe it showed up not long after, but whenever I have gotten a bfp on a FRER (including my m/c) the line shows up right away.I'm no expert by ANY means but in my opinion it's so clear and SO pink (and you said it didn't show up as well in the picture) that to me that definitely looks like more than an evap!!! I know Pbn has asked me to see the pic after the test has dried because you can see it clearer that way! I so hope im right and that's a BFP because the whole reason I got on today was to check if you had gotten your BFP today!!! Fx and so many prayers for you!!! I know how stressful and draining this is, especially after a m/c!

And technically after the time frame, it isn't valid. But again its so clear that I'm thinking (and praying) it will be a clear BFP in the morning!

Aw thanks mtolbert! And thanks for checking in on me today!! I think I might take one more test before the night is over - I know, I've become a total POAS freak but these crazy lines on the FRERs are making me bonkers. Plus I haven't had anything to drink for awhile so I'll probably have a decent sample haha.
You're doing femara right now right? When is O time for you this month?

You're welcome! We're all in this together! I am a POAS addict too [emoji23] and I always convince myself I MIGHT see the tiniest line ever lol I'll be watching for your next BFP because im almost willing to bet my right hand this is it! Lol.
Thank you for remembering! I took my first dose of femara for this cycle today (cd 3)! I usually o cd 14 or 15. I'm hoping I o on time or even a little early so i can get my BFP in time for Christmas!!

Mtolbert yea that's so exciting!!!! That would be perfect to get a bfp right at Christmas!! Will you just do OPKs, or is your doc doing an u/s around O? Not sure how they do things w/ femara.
Well 2nd frer tonight showed *maybe* a squinter but far less than the earlier one so I guess those tests are just playing tricks with my mind. Sigh.

When I first got on femara my Dr did bloodwork to confirm it was making me ovulate, and since then I've either done opk's or just temping. I've recently dropped the opk's though and have only been temping to confirm o. I wish my Dr would do u/s but they wont. I couldn't even get them to give me more frequent ultrasounds with my last pregnancy(which I lost.) These Drs are driving me insane.. most of them make me feel like im crazy for worrying...
Please post a pic!!! I love looking for squinters! Maybe your pee was more diluted this time, who knows!

Ugh!! That's frustrating about the doctors! I get so annoyed when docs don't take my questions/concern seriously. Yes, they are the professionals but patient concerns are important!!! And good grief, you had a miscarriage - you are completely right to be worried & deserve the extra reassurance!!! Does femara not have the risks that Clomid has (as far as multiple follicles and such) and that's why they don't monitor as closely? I feel like I've seen atomic say femara is the safer of the two meds.
Eh I promise you this squinter wont show up in a pic :( The pee looked concentrated but there wasn't much of it so maybe that's why... will just try again tomorrow.

December 3rd, 2017, 02:05 AM
Yes exactly!! DH and I have been trying for almost 2 years now and I've had 2 miscarriages in a row with no explanation. I even switched Drs but still no repeat bloodwork, ultrasounds, ect. When I had my emergency d&c they were supposed to send the baby off for testing and somehow forgot??!! It's been a really irritating process and keeping my cool hasn't been easy to say the least. But, my Dr finally agreed to put me on progesterone as soon as I get a BFP so hopefully that will help!!! Yes, atomic also told me that femara is the safer of the 2! The only side effect I get is headaches while taking it.
I'll be watching for your am test! What time is it where you are?? It's 1:04 am here! For some reason I'm a night owl these days. Please don't lose hope! I have a good feeling about this cycle for you!!!!

Omg my notifications didn't work and I just stumbled on this!!! Abc that looks like a bona fide pink bfp to me!!!! Omg!!! I cant wait for mornings test!!! It actually looks abit darker than my 9dpo line too!! I know you think you're more dpo than that but I'm still convinced you are 9dpo [emoji6] I never checked my tests until 8 minutes or so had passed because I found sometimes it too that long for the line to become visible. So how long until morning???!!!! I bet its middle of the night for me [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] I'll be stalking madly when I wake up!!!! I know Robin had a very convincing frer line that turned out to be nothing but I sure hope this isn't the same case again.... everything crossef so tightly for you!! I'm nearly considering setting my alarm during the night to check [emoji23][emoji23] actually what am I talking about??!! I pee at least 4 times a night so I'll check in as soon as!!! So just to work it out properly how many hours till morning??!!

And are you kidding me - they forgot to send the baby off for testing? That's terrible of them. Progesterone sounds like a great idea. They will at least run betas when you get a bfp, yea?
It's after 11 pm here - I have been a night owl my whole life, it's literally how I'm programmed haha! I go to sleep before 10 pm maybe about 5 times a year!!
Pbn you crack me up!! I just burst out laughing reading your post!! Honestly - I'm not convinced at all yet. This is just so weird - it really feels like the FRERs are playing tricks on me. And yea not being sure about the O date is making me crazy too - nothing about that makes sense. First +OPK on Monday, two huge follicles on u/s on Tuesday morning, EWCM Sunday-Wednesday, dry on Thursday, and temp rise on Friday. I mean are you kidding me?! But as atomic has told me a few times now, Clomid can do weird stuff I guess. I wont test again for another 8 hours at least so please don't wake up on my account! :) But lol about the peeing thing - I'm thankful I really didn't deal w/ that w/ my two boys... somehow neither of them ended up pushing on my bladder much!

Hello ladies,
I hope you don't mind me joining this month's tww. Actually I'm not ttc yet as hubby was not convinced of a third child yet and I hoped to persuade him by Feb next year. I am on a not so strict LE diet for some months now and had just started exercising two weeks ago. But hubby surprised me with wanting to bd without protection some days ago and I was feeling overwhelmed and ask him to pull out as I was not really ready but didn't want to say no either lol. So I guess there is not really a chance of getting pregnant but as a poas addict I know I'll start testing soon ;-) on the day we bd unprotected my ovulation test was positive, so why knows...

Yes, they "forgot"... I was so mad and upset but all I could do was cry. That being said, we are both feeling really optimistic. We conceived the most recent baby we lost on cycle 2 of femara, so im really hopeful this cycle 2 of femara will be our lucky one and we get a healthy sticky bean!!!! At my current dr they only want to do 1 round of bloodwork at 8 weeks which seems crazy to me because that doesn't show if the numbers are doubling, so I may have to get a little more insistent and less patient when I finally do get my BFP! After talking with Pbn, I've decided to do the SMEP this time. Though I long for a girl, I would be just as happy and in love with another baby boy!
I understand why you are so hesitant to believe this is your BFP as I am the same way. But I truly believe this is yours!!! Your lines look great and I don't have to squint or anything!! Abc I second mtolbert (hi there [emoji6]! Great to see you here [emoji3]) and would get betas for peace of mind. This is only morning 2 of testing, hcg doubles every 48 hours. Tomorrows frer will be darker, like this mornings but even more noticable. And that's a great line on the wondfo! If you'd taken a photo at 5-10 minutes I bet we all would have seen something. They are easier to see dry is all when testing this early. Remember you are only JUST pregnant! My early tests took awhile for the line to show up. I learnt to walk away and come back at the 8 minute mark to avoid panicking. Within another day or so you will begin to se the line straight away but it will still take to darken.

Mtolbert I'm glad you guys are feeling positive and I'm going to be positive with you and keep everything crossed that this is your sticky bean cycle!!!! If I was in your position I would insist on early betas. I don't know why it would be a big deal for your doc - they're such simple blood tests. But obviously you have to decide what is best for you. They can cause more stress if the numbers start off slow even if the pregnancy is fine.
I just bought FR digitals so I guess I'll try one of those tomorrow! If I get a clearer positive in the next day or so I'll probably call my doc and request betas this week. I think you all are seeing the lines in pics better than I am in person!!

Weird question - this past week was really stressful with my son's illness and other stuff going on. I felt really emotional and stressed all week. Then I also got sick myself mid-week (respiratory stuff) and had a very low grade fever on Thursday night. Could that have maybe delayed implantation slightly or affect how my hcg levels are rising? I'm guessing not but just wondering if that has to do with it.

Abc I wouldn't use a digital until 12dpo as its dicey whether they're sensitive enough or not.... I've had the same happen last year as well negative on a cb digi at 10dpo and frer looked lighter and questionable if even a line after a more obvious one 9dpo but I did a hold the same day and my frer line was back and obvious. Hang in there! I know its frustrating but it simply takes time for progression plus each test varies in sensitivity making it even harder testing so early when hcg amounts are so small. You aren't going to see much progression from first day to the next if any (I did with yours though) By tomorrow and onwards you should start seeing an obvious darkening [emoji173]

Thanks pbn and Mommy. I feel like I'm hogging this board up today, I'm sorry :( This is just a new experience for me. Even with the m/c in August, I had a very clear positive on 10 dpo that got slowly darker each day. I really wonder if this cold/respiratory thing I'm fighting has anything to do with what's going on. My temp got up to about 99.4 today (which isn't "technically" a fever I guess but I run very low temps so for me that's really high) and I had a lot of aches in my shoulder. I actually felt pretty awful and had to take a nap. Now I'm just trying to drink a lot of water and then we'll try a test again tomorrow!

Ladies, it’s my first time tracking and not trying to ttc. My cycle is 26-29
I’m currently on cd11 and had a pos opk yesterday. Nearly missed it as I assumed I’d be checking twice (am/pm) starting cd11. I’ve also been tracking my bbt on my app and didn’t input the +opk until later this morn. So just based on my temp spike this morn the app picked up on my ovulation today!
Did an opk today and it’s barely pos. My cm’s not ewcm, tbh I usually get that later on in the cycle...
Do I really ovulate this early? And if so what would be the implications for ttc?

If I am only 2dpo then that's maybe better attempts wise?
Does anyone know if it's ok to have a hair colour in the tww? I made an appointment thinking it would be day before AF but now looks like I'll only be 9 or 10dpo

BBB if o day is cd17 then you have 3 attempts [emoji3] In relation to the hair dyeing, I've never been able to find a consistent answer or explanation either for or against. Maybe ask if they have any 'natural' ingredient dyes to choose from or see if you can source your own maybe? From what I'm able to gather its the possible chemicals in the dye that is the cause for concern. Alternatively can you postpone your appt until you know?

Filzma looks like your app has simply put in cd11 as o day because of your pos opk on cd10. (By the way they look perfectly fine!!) There is not near enough temps yet to say either way. You can o anywhere from 12-72 (generally 12-48) hours after pos opk so it will be interesting to see what the next couple days temp do! That is a definate pos opk though. It's no problem ttc if you o on cd11, people have conceived from even earlier [emoji50] Can you post a daily screenshot of your chart over the next few days? We'll nut it out eventually [emoji6]

Personally I wouldn’t. Temping just caused anxiety for me, and it’s the least reliable fertility sign (compared to opk’s and cm). My temps were a mess this last cycle, I couldn’t tell when I O’ed because they were all over the place, so that stressed me out too. If you do want to temp, you can buy a cheap basal thermometer at any drugstore. I know some women temp vaginally because of how variable mouth temping can be, so that’s something to consider too.

Girlsway it depends on how you sleep. If you have to get up a lot at night I wouldn't bother, but if you get a decent sleep every night then go for it. I set my alarm and keep the thermometer right beside the bed as you don't want to move too much. Also you need at least 3 hrs unbroken sleep before you take it.
I got mine from boots but it's about 10 years old now! (this ain't my first rodeo)

Verena - I continue to exercise during the tww - although this time I cut back a little on the frequency and intensity (but I've also been sick too so that's part of it). I wouldn't think it would be a problem but like Pbn said if you're nervous maybe just cut back on the intensity a little. They always say if you work out/exercise before you get pregnant and your body is used to it, you can continue to do it during pregnancy.
Girlsway as you know temping for me has been pretty stressful. Can't say if it's worth it or not - it can be helpful in pinpointing O in lots of people but for some it's not really (like me!) If you do temp lots of women do it vaginally as it's suppose to be more accurate and consistent. I'm super squeamish about that so I've just taken it orally!
Mummy sorry that happened to you this summer :( It's so hard right?! Sigh. Hoping we both have sticky beans soon!!
Mommy - those pics I just uploaded aren't showing the line well but my SMU was def a lot darker than the FMU - and it's the darkest line I've seen so far. I remember you saying this is how yours were. That is really weird how there would be a difference between FMU and SMU (about 2.5 hours in bet). I even had a cup of coffee this morning which I'm sure diluted the pee a bit.

Girlswaylondon I loved temping! I think it's a personality thing though. I always felt more in control than what I would call winging it (relying on opks and cm). I'm also going to disagree that its the least reliable indicator of o (sorry Greydore [emoji173]) I believe the opposite. You can o anywhere from day of to 4 days after a pos opk, you can have a false surge, you can gear up to o (get a pos) and not. Cm can also be a fickle sign, for me and others it can be like clockwork and start turning non fertile day of o and stay that way, but this for me was only confirmed to be happening from temping indicating the change consistently same day as o (sustained rise). In my opinion temping is the most reliable way to tell if and when you have oed. If you are going to try it then definately recommend vaginal temping straight off the bat. Also any long thin necked thermometer is fine but get one that measures to two decimal points. Try and temp same time each morning to within a half hour variance. You should be taking a temp after no less than 4 hours of solid sleep, preferably more of course :) Temp in bed, have the bbt on your bedside table or under pillow etc as you need to move as little as possible prior to taking temp. Use an alcohol swab/wipe to clean the thermometer after each temp. When switching to vaginal temping, I had a few practice goes and that was all it took to get the hang of it. Insert the thermometer alongside you finger up to the middle knuckle to get an idea how far to put thermometer in. You want the tip completely covered bit no need to poke your cervix [emoji6]
Hopefully back to sleep for me. Talk soon ladies [emoji3]
Edited: went back and reread some posts, Greydore sorry you said temping was least reliable 'fertility sign' and yes I've never ever considered temping as a sign, only a confirmation tool [emoji3] Apologies for my early morning brain fuzzines [emoji23]

Is Ebay a bad place to buy a thermometer? Its not really any help in conceiving girlswaylondon (bar not seeing a sustained spike and therefore can get another attempt in) it's really just a confirmation tool of when o has likely occured, how long after pos opk and from 6dpo onwards *may* start showing a pattern that can indicate a good chance of being pregnant (however I've seen even the most ordinary charts result in a bfp :) )
Not sure I'd recommend it for someone who's a 'stresshead' [emoji6], for me it was always less stressful knowing when I oed as opposed to assuming it was day after pos opk. Plus I like graphs and patterns and knowing when temps were in post o range etc
Why not try it out for a cycle and seehow you go? And yes ebay is perfectly fine for a bbt or amazon if you have it! If you like post a link or screenshot one you're looking at so we can say yay or nea [emoji16]

My PCOS was causing me to get positive opk's (on digital & IC) even when the dr confirmed I wasn't ovulating. I’ll try it out for a month, tbh if it doesn’t help in conceiving and just helps to keep an eye on cycles then there’s nothing to stress about! :D
Here’s a pic!

Ahh! Should have mentioned to make sure it remembers your temp! I got one that you have to check straight away which is useless for dark mornings. My old faithful will tell the last temp taken when you switch it back on again afterwards

BBB has a great point there. My ones always did recall last temp taken when turned on, didn't even think to mention it though.... my phone was always on my bedside table with thermometer and wipe (put there before going to sleep every night) so if it doesn't have that feature then you could always use the light of your phone screen to read the temp if need be. I always put my temp in after it was taken though.
