Hi Ladies
Swaying for blue
I got a positive OPK at 1pm after seeing my OB/GYN Who
Measured my follicle and said I would ovulate within the next day or 2.
We only land up BD at 7:30am (1 attempt) and now I just got home and
Have a negative OPK - no smiley!!!
Is my egg already dead? Should I even bother trying again?
Thanks

Before other experienced ladies will answer, I think two things I've learned from Atomic; opks are not very indicative of exact time of ovulation, so you may or may have not ovulated and in any case when in doubt, BD!

I would try and have 2 more attempts in, if you can. I know Atomic recommends 3 attempts at first positive opk and another attempt on the 5th day. How fast your opks get light do NOT tell you when you will ovulate. All that opks measure is the hormone, LH, that increases as the egg matures and is released. Ovulation typically occurs 24-36 hours after the first positive opk.
Hang in there! 🤞🏻for you!

Like XX said, get another attempt or two in. There's no guarantee you already ovulated and even if you did, the egg may still be viable. USUALLY ovulation will happen 12-24 hours after a positive OPK but sometimes it can take up to 36-48 hours.

more attempts. it doesn't matter if the egg is dead, it may not be, and you'll be covering your bases having more attempts.
