Hi everybody,

I will see my doc tomorrow and ask him to check my blood. I am dieting (not strict LE all the time though) for half a year now and just want to make sure I don't have any deficiencies. Do you have any suggestions what I should ask him to look for besides the things that they normally test?

For example I have the feeling that I'm losing more hair than normal. Is anyone experiencing this as well while being on LE diet? I suspect it could be due to a lack of iron... But I think that is one of the things that they check in a blood count anyway.

Vit. D and B12 are always good things to check for.

Most of the time hair loss when swaying is not related to diet but is hormonal. People have had a baby recently, they came off birth control - these things cause massive hair loss and it's not real hair loss but just that your hair kind of "goes to sleep" when you're pregnant or on BCP. But it can be hormonal due to changes in your diet as well. Usually you'll feel quite bad from anemia before it makes your hair fall out but yes they'll check that in your blood work.

Have you ever had your thyroid tested? That's a common cause of hair loss.
