I am not swaying anymore as I am already pregnant, but I just can not think right now as to where to post this.....
I have an aweful sinus infection and our insurance got messed up and won't be affective until the end of next week at the earliest. So, my question is.....
Do any of you ladies have any home or homeopathic remedies to help me?
I have been drinking hot tea and hot lemon/honey water. And gargling salt water (which is making me gag).
If I get a cold when I am pregnant....I get a sinus infection. It is really weird, but I guess that is just the way it is.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Go get a Neti pot from the drug store. It works great.

This sounds looney but it really works and is also great for ear infections. Take 1/2 a yellow onion (the stinky kind, not a sweet onion), microwave it for 20-30 seconds so it's warm but not hot enough to burn you, and hold it against one of your ears for 10-15 minutes, then repeat on the other ear (you can reuse the same onion half until it starts to fall apart). The heat, moisture, and fumes from the onion kinda penetrate everything and get stuff flowing.
Also, eat hot spicy stuff as much as you can.

Both of the above suggestions are awesome! I get chronic sinus infections and what I do is neti pot with warm water, plus a 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda. The salt dries and the baking soda cleans away the infected area. I also use acupuncture! I went in 4 years ago, while pregnant and suffering and she did two treatments for my sinus(they put the needles in your face which was a bit much but I was desperate!). I've never had a sinus infection again since that one cleared:bigsmile: I used to get 3+ times a year and they were so bad I bled. So needless to say, I'm sold on acupuncture:)
I hope you get some relief WP. Sinus issues are horrible...but even worse when pregnant:(

Thanks for the replies. I was doing a bit better, but then had a church chili cook-off outside until late last night....blah.
I NEED to get a Neti pot, but DH Just thinks it is too gross and would never work.....maybe this could make a believer out of him.
I will try the onion trick today, thank Atomic!!!
I hope your right ELP :)
I am normally healthy as a horse, but with pregnancy I just get worn down and sick. Plus, I have not been taking very many vitamins, because they are making me gag or my throat is sore. It was worst this morning, when I woke up I coughed up a bunch of yuck. I just hate antibiotics, too. Then there's the yeast infection you have to deal with afterwards.
Oh, I have also been taking acedophalus (sp?) and an immune boost that has garlic and some kind of mushrooms in it.
