So many girls on here! Congrats Mommy2apples, just read your post.
I totally agree with all the shopping comments on girls!! That’s the worst part about having girls I think, you spend more money!
Hope you’re ok Dreaming. Thankfully it’s not a clot! You’re so strong for not finding out!!
Has anyone started thinking of names yet??

DreamingRainbow, Oh my gosh, how scary!!!! I'm so glad it's not a clot. I'm trying to remember if your having one or two babies. The reason I'm wondering is because I have the same thing this pregnancy, but it's because it's twins so the oxygen demand on my body is higher than it was with one. I have to go over discharge teaching a lot with our new mommies before they go home, and I have done it so long I can do it by heart. Anyways, sometimes I get going and have to stop mid sentence to take a deep breath.
Mommy2apples, Yay!!!! I'm so happy for you! You got the healthy baby girl you wanted! I definitely see her girl parts !

I've been thinking the same thing!! Hopefully they are successful girlsways??!?
So glad you don't have a clot, that's scary :(
I have to go for my dating scan on 6th Feb so I'll only be 11+5 too early for a nub guess unfortunately, it's also at the exact time 2 of our kids get out of school so Dh may not be able to come with me :(Fingers crossed they are successful girl sways! I'm not sure how successful I was with my boy sway but fingers crossed!
Oh no that's a pity about the timing of scan. Could a friend collect your children so dh could attend?
When will you have your next scan after that?
We got our harmony results on Friday but decided against finding out for now. It'll be in my chart so we can check at any time but I do enjoy the guessing!

DreamingRainbow, so keeping my fingers crossed for a healthy boy baby for you ;) my other children are 4 boys and 2 girls, but their grown and I was done having children. When I got together with DH, he hadn’t started his family yet. He asked me if I was open to having children and I said no, not unless I really loved the person I was with. Anyways, here I am, with a toddler and two on the way! He has an 11 year old son, and with my four boys, and our boy toddler, he really wanted to go to extreme measure to have the chance to have a daughter. I don’t tell very many people because I’m always a little worried I’ll be judged for having so many children and being in my mid 40’s. I also actually already have 3 grandsons too. It’s an unusual life compared to the average household of 2 kids and a dog lol.
Thank you DreamingRainbow and Mommy2apples! I think the names are beautiful too, but I’m obviously partial lol

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
Wow, its amazing to hear all the girls that are due. Congrats to everyone who has found out the genders! I truly hope I hear boy! I am praying so hard. This will definitely be our last two. I am being sterilized after this. We live in South Africa and it's expensive here.
Ellirosanne, so nice to hear there is another mommy expecting twins! Are yours in one sac? We don't know the genders yet. I am going for a 4D scan on Wednesday to make sure everything is okay, hopefully will get a glimpse of the genders. But hubby and I will be finding out end of Feb.
I have to say, I am also struggling with shortness of breath! It's really bad sometimes.

Hi ladies sorry I have been mia lately, I'm trying to catch up on all the goss.
Huge congrats to you all on your little girls! There certainly seems to be a lot of girls due july/Aug - makes me a bit nervous as I swayed blue!
I know a few of you work in the medical field and I'm hoping for some advice. All please feel free to weigh in too!
So I've spent the past 24 hours admitted to a main hospital with a suspected clot in my lung. Thankfully last night they confirmed I do not have a clot. But they cannot explain why I feel breathless and have to work for breath more often than not. The hosp suggested it could be baby pressing on diaphragm (doesn't that seem too early as I'm only 11 weeks?) Or pregnancy induced asthma. I never had this on my other pregnancies. Any ideas or has anyone ever had this?!
Thanks in advance!

Blood volume increases quite a bit in pregnancy. It’s quite possible your body is not adjusting so well to the change. I get winded much more easily starting around mid first trimester and that has been what my doctor attributed it to.

I’m trying to decide if I should bother with an NIPT this time or just the regular screening blood work. I take Lovenox for a blood clotting disorder and it’s known to affect the accuracy of the results. I did an NIPT and the standard screen with my twin pregnancy and it missed the Y chromosomes of my boy twin. We’re still leaning team green, but figured if we did the NIPT we’d get the gender part done, just ask that we not be given that result for now. Then again, if the company says my medication affects the accuracy, should I even bother? It shouldn’t be this hard to make a decision on something so simple. LOL

Love the names girls :) baby clothes shopping is the best! (Except if you have to find neutral stuff, I hate that)

Greydore I hope this is your girl - esp since it seems to be the season for girls!! If not, at least you have all those clothes and things. I was thinking the same thing - I have so much girl stuff in storage that it will be easier on me this time around. It's time for me to redo my 10-year old's room and get rid of some of her "babyish stuff" so now those things can go to the new baby. And the doll houses and American Girl doll stuff!! I spent so much money on that stuff (doll clothes, furniture, etc) - good to know I can hand it all down.
I've been catching up and see so many beautiful names some of you have chosen for your babies!! We still don't have a name. I told the girls that if they have a sister they can choose her name but I really thought I was having a boy. I just hope they choose something nice lol. I think they are leaning toward London, Jordyn, Zoe, or Ava. They both have "J" names so I think they want to move away from that so Jordyn is probably out. We will see...

I told the girls that if they have a sister they can choose her name but I really thought I was having a boy. I just hope they choose something nice lol. I think they are leaning toward London, Jordyn, Zoe, or Ava. They both have "J" names so I think they want to move away from that so Jordyn is probably out. We will see...My eldest name is Zoe so I'm biased! That is so lovely to allow your daughters to choose their sister's name!
My eldest turned 4 last weekend and the youngest recently turned 2. This evening when I was putting them to bed they asked for a baby (random as we haven't mentioned anything) I asked my youngest if she wanted an girl baby or boy baby and she answered "a purple one" [emoji38]

Ellirosanne you're supermom !! I have a friend who is currently pregnant with her 10th child. From her, I've learned how awful people can be with their comments.
So long as you can raise and house your children and fill them with love- that's everything!
We received our harmony report in the post today. I nearly opened it in error (it had the gender noted in it!) Veeeerrry tempting to open!!

Aww a purple one! I love that age :-) Funny how they were thinking of a baby - they say kids have a six sense about these things. When do you plan to tell them and how? I don't know how you held out on opening that Harmony report!! I'm not that strong at all. I think my husband and I really needed time to get used to the idea of a 3rd daughter so we needed to know early but it's awesome that you can wait.
As far as my sway, things got so busy at work and home that summer that I went back to eating the way I normally did (not much meat and I drank lots of coffee) and I didn't have time to work out like I did before. I've always been a light eater with minimal meat but when I swayed successfully with my boy I ate more protein and did more weight lifting vs. cardio. I had put on more muscle weight then but this time around I lost muscle. Plus my husband had just returned from a 2 week trip out of the country the night I ovulated and I thought nothing of it. But we still got a wonderful surprise!! You just never know - after all this time trying that was the one time I didn't plan or expect it.
And Zoe is on the top of my list! My oldest called her London as she listened to her heartbeat last night so I guess she was hinting at that one.

That's great! I'm with you Greydore - I'm beginning to love that I'll have the same gender. Plus the girls seem to bring out the best in my husband! He's such a serious guy but he's so good with the girls. I think he would be strict and tough with a boy. Maybe this kid will be more artsy or bookish - the other two are both athletes and competitive by nature. I can't wait to see her personality!

I'm a coffee-aholic and don't eat much meat. I'm mainly a runner but used to do kettlebells classes. I was only 6 weeks post mmc (apparently conceiving afterwards sways girl ) when I conceived so my diet involved a lot of takeaways and junk food (possibly helped sway?) I did try to do a few kettlebells classes post mmc and before conceiving but did a lot of running. It's out of my hands now and honestly, 3 healthy girls sounds great to Me! Dh is already confident it's a girl and he's delighted. Already suggesting names (none of which I really like!) I'm so undecided about finding out. Until I decide I think I should stay team green or yellow (I've seen a fewnpost these colours and I assume they mean they don't know gender?)
Your daughter sounds adorable and I love that she's so involved in your pregnancy!!
I lost our baby at 18w last sept (a boy). We hadn't explicitly told the girls ideas pregnant but they knew. My eldest (3 at the time) was suddenly asking if the baby was here yet and she kept putting her dolly up her top and saying "mammy I have a baby in there too" - she only did all this after I lost the baby. I had to have a few talks with her as I wanted to explain to her what happened without upsetting her. I promised I would tell her when I had a baby in my tummy again but I'm so afraid to tell them in case it all goes terribly wrong again. I'm 12 weeks today. Have a scan tomorrow and am a ball of panic.

It’s only a $30 copay for me with my insurance so cost isn’t a factor. The standard screen also costs a $30 copay.

We decided we’d do both the NIPT and standard screening again. I had them drawn today along with the rest of the first trimester labs my doctor ordered. I still can’t believe they drew 17 vials of blood plus a urine sample. There would have been two more vials drawn had I not opted to skip the one-hour glucose test today due to having just eaten immediately beforehand. It’ll be about two weeks before I get either of the screening test results back and for the time being we opted to have the gender tested but not told to us.

I found out this morning that I am having twin girls. I am a little sad because we will now have 4 girls and I will not be having any more. Having my tubes tied after the birth.
Both are doing extremely well and all looks good. So I am very happy to hear that. I think I am just more sad and disappointed for hubby's sake. He will only find out end of next month and he will be shattered when he hear its girls. He was praying so hard for a little boy. He has always wanted a boy. And the comments and mockery from family and friends will just get him down. I just don't know how he is going to cope. He has so much stress already and things just seems to go wrong all the time.

I totally understand your disappointment and the comments people say can be so cruel. I have 2 girls and my husband adores the bones of them (especially coming from only having brothers!) But he has been told by "friends" he has a "sissy Mickey" and can only make girls. How horrible is that!! This is our last baby and while I (Not my husband) would love a boy, All I want is a healthy baby. Your husband will adore his new daughters too, like he does his others. Maybe try focus on the positive that you are successful growing Healthy babies and all is going great xx

TwinMom2: congrats on your healthy baby girls. I’m so sorry you didn’t hear boy. As I know gender disappointment is so real. I cried for a week I was so upset with my little Braxton. I could t imagine my life without him though as he is such a blessing and the lord knew he was exactly the perfect baby that for with our family. I thought he would be my last baby too, but my dh was open for another one as long as the dr told me it was okay to have another csection. I agree your husband is going to just adore your baby girls! They are going to be such a blessing to your family. The lord always has his reasons. So many hugs to you sweetie! ❤️ I don’t know why people find it to bug people about the genders of their babies that just makes it worse when in all every single baby is a blessing.

Dreaming, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss at 18w! That is so heartbreaking. I think I was more disappointed this wasn't a boy because I lost my boy at 13w and I was just hoping he came back so I mourned him all over again. But I have faith that there was a reason that pregnancy didn't go on and I thank God for my daughters all the time. I know it broke your heart when you had to try and explain that to your 3-year old. It was hard for me explaining to my girls - the older one took it pretty hard.
I hope and pray things go well at your scan today! I know things can be a lot more nerve-wrecking after a lost. I'm 15w5d today and I still always worrying.
I'm really beginning to see how similar girls moms are...I was doing kettlebells and other weights when I conceived my son but I was just doing cardio or minimal exercise since my surgery last January. Plus, I lost a few pounds just before I got pregnant with this one and with my boy I had gained a few pounds before him. Hubby wants to try again for another one next year. We are both 37...it can still happen...but the thought of paying day care for 2 kids! Not to mention how exhausted I'll be AND you said conceiving afterwards sways girl :-/

Twin Mom congrats on your new daughters!!! They are truly a blessing. I am dealing with the same thing - feeling so bad for my husband because he really wants a boy. But he took the news a lot better than I thought. Hopefully your husband will be ok. We decided not to tell anyone gender yet to avoid the remarks for as long as we can. I know it will affect him more. Once the girls come, your husband will instantly be in love!
Ellirosanne - beautiful pics of the babies!!! And look at your cute little bump! I'm so happy babies are doing well. I love their names!

Girls look at those beautiful babies!! :hug2: so adorable :)
Twinmom2 I know it doesn't help but I really know how you feel. I still can't believe I have 5 Girls!!! Dh never was never bothered about getting a boy, but I'm sure all the stupid comments we get do annoy him too. I'm sure they will be beautiful and your Dh will fall in love with them once they are here. Just tell him he's lucky to be surrounded by beautiful women :)
Ellirosanne love your bump! I just have bloat lol it's a nightmare to cover up as we still haven't told anyone I'm pregnant yet!

TwinMom I’m sorry you didn’t get your boy :/ I have a friend who had two little girls, tried for a boy and also got twin girls. They are here and healthy and everyone is in love. Her husband wanted a boy, but after the stress of the twin pregnancy he was thrilled that everything turned out ok. I know it doesn’t take away the disappointment though. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much Greydore. Today is the first day I'm actually feeling that I am going to be okay. I'm looking forward to meeting them and I am so grateful that they are healthy and that everything looks okay. That was my main concern. Before finding out the gender, I asked the tech to first check everything. :-) I'm going to be okay and my family will be okay. I really appreciate the support and the kind words.

Hi ladies. I've been having a break from the boards as I felt things weren't going well and I think I was right. I've started bleeding lightly this morning and my tests have stuck at 2-3 weeks when they should be over 3 weeks now. I'm 6 weeks 1 day. I've got a scan later so will update but I'm sure it's not good news.

TMI question, but anyone else have little gushes that randomly come out, and then when you go to the bathroom, no blood or anything, just a little wet spot on panties. Sometimes it's just my progesterone suppository melting down, but it sure is unnerving. Especially when it's clear. I always think, oh gosh, what if it's amniotic fluid. But then it goes away. It's totally random.

Time seems to be moving fast. Can't believe I'm almost 17 weeks. It's time to start shopping for maternity clothes or just bigger slacks and stuff for work. I can still button some of my work slacks and skirts but not for long! I'm not at the point where people are noticing my belly but it's getting there! What about you all? Have you done any shopping or switched to your old maternity clothes yet?

Mlka I’ve been wearing my maternity leggings for a few weeks just because they’re SO comfortable. I’m not showing yet, but I never do this early (only 13 weeks). I tried some of my maternity clothes on from my last baby and they’re still too big. So I’m kind of in that in between place. Thankful I haven’t gained any weight since my last appt 4 weeks ago!
Baby’s heartbeat was 150 today and my anatomy scan is scheduled for March 6.

I've tried the trouser and loose top combo bit i think it makes me look bigger. It's probably all in my head. I do remind myself often of how lucky I am to have this "problem"

Congratulations Gwynn! Very happy for you.
So I received my blood test results and I'm having another boy. Feeling a bit down. I didn't sway that hard so I'm not too surprised. I hate that I'm feeling sad because some women can't even have children and I'm having a healthy beautiful baby boy. I should be fine in a few days and I still have hope for a girl as I can still fit in 1 more baby to the family so I'll sway really hard next time and then I'll call it quits at 4.
I really am happy for all of you ladies :)

JL7 congrats on your healthy baby boy! I know it’s a little disheartening when we don’t get the gender we were really hoping for, but once little guy is here it won’t even matter! The lord always has his reasoning for the gender he chooses for us and maybe he wants your little girl to have three strong brothers before she makes her appearance!

I’m an L&D nurse :) I haven’t scanned myself yet, but plan to this week if we aren’t too busy. Our machine is only used to determine fetal position so it’s not as detailed as the ones at the doctors offices. So we’ll see if I can even tell what’s what.
JL7 congrats on a baby boy, I’m sorry it’s not what you wanted to hear. As time goes on I’m sure you’ll get more used to the idea and maybe even excited. Have you told your boys yet? And your husband?

Greydore yeah I know that's so true! Yeah I told the hubby and he was a little sad but he's super excited about having 3 boys haha. We told the boys and one is happy but the youngest was upset as he really wants a little sister but then again he wants a puppy, guinea pig and a rabbit so I'm sure he'll be fine hahaha.

Very welcome JL7! It’s okay to be sad too, I was sad for awhile with my 4th baby, but it did go away and I got excited! Now I couldn’t picture my life without him at all! My ornery little two year old was suppose to be in our family! The lord knew he was the perfect addition to our family!

JL7 congrats on your healthy baby boy. I know the disappointment when u want a particular gender. I really want a boy but I think it's a girl. This is us for us, 3 is our magic number. I also know that if it is a little girl she will be loved and will complete our family.
Greydore what's an l&d nurse? Fair play to u- I am in awe at all your amazing people who can do that job. I would seriously live in that machine!!
Had a scan today. All is great thank god!! But they brought my dates forward following scan last week?! I am 13+2 by early scan dates but they now say I'm 13+6 ? Is this not a bit strange? I've never had my dates changed before?

Sorry, labor & delivery :)
Did they change your dates based on that? They usually don’t change dates at this point when there’s only a 4 day difference. Due date shouldn’t be changed unless there’s greater than a 7 day difference.
Congrats bunnygirl!! So excited for you!

Not a midwife, just a nurse :)
And your dates shouldn’t be changed based on an ultrasound at 13 weeks UNLESS there’s more than a 7 day difference between the scan and your lmp. Dating scans are most accurate before 11 weeks, after that the margin of error is much wider and fetuses start to grow at different rates. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

My friend just had to be a Debbie Downer. She told me how NIPT tests aren’t reliable for gender and about all the posts that pop up for those that got the wrong results, especially if it’s a girl. Now I’m worrying that maybe my test could be wrong. My doctor insists Harmony only has a .4% inaccuracy for gender and that internal statistics (I’m through an HMO) only show one wrong gender result not related to another genetic disorder out of over 30,000 tests they’ve ordered.

Welp, she's wrong. I have read those posts and you will find that many of them are not even about the NIPT tests (they did "Sneak Peek" which is not a NIPT and is unreliable) or they did the test too soon or they are going off an ultrasound and believing the ultrasound instead of the blood test. Rarely, the baby ended up having something wrong with it.
It takes a lot to sell me on something like that and I am a believer in the NIPT tests.
BunnyGirl19
February 2nd, 2018, 07:12 PM
I have never questioned them before, so I’m not sure why her comments bothered me. The test was “wrong” with my twins, but because it turned out the nurse ordered the test too early and there wasn’t enough DNA to test, not actually a wrong result. When the test was repeated at the correct timeframe it was right. The only other “wrong” I knew of was a coworkers daughter’s test, but it was actually something wrong with the baby and his Y chromosome (a microdeletion I think) when further testing was done. I feel pretty confident I’m having and girl and went shopping for her. I decided to give her a unicorn theme. :)

February 2nd, 2018, 10:18 PM
Bunnygirl I’m sorry your friend said those things, but she’s wrong. The new NIPT tests have great accuracy and are actually becoming more recommended now than the traditional first and second trimester screenings due to their high rates of accuracy. It’s not surprising that you might get a false result if the test is too early, either. I would be confident in your results, and enjoy shopping for your girl!

I want to name her Felicity Grace. I’ve loved it for a long time and DH had deemed it tolerable for the twins last time if they had both been girls. I told him if we ever had another girl I wanted to use it. He had said we were done with kids so I should save it for a pet someday. LOL! When I found out I was pregnant I started seeing that name a lot and thinking it meant I was having a girl. The same thing happened with both of my other girl pregnancies and the names I’d wanted to use were not at all common.

Hi Ladies!
Ellirosanne, thanks :-) but we already found out we are having a girl from our NIPT test. It took me a couple weeks to get used to the idea of having 3 daughters but I'm so happy now and can't wait to hold her! It's been 10 years since I've had a baby so we have to buy ALL new things so I've been online doing a lot of research on good products. I've already bought a bunch of clothes. It amazes me all the new things they have for babies now! So exciting...
Grace, I LOVE that crib! And that stroller set is really nice. Enjoy shopping for your first baby girl!! I know it's exciting for you. My second daughter is a pink fanatic so I'm looking at other colors for this little one.
Bunnygirl - Felicity is such a pretty name! I'm so stumped on names for my little one. I don't like what the girls like and they don't like what me and hubby likes lol. Zoe and Ava are now at the top of my list. Hubby loves Jessica/Jessa and the girls are all over the place with names! Good thing we have plenty of time to figure it out.

Hi everyone!! I’m due July 17th, found out at our gender party on Saturday that we are having a girl!! It’s what we BOTH were hoping for, it’s our first baby ❤️
Just hoping the potty shot isn’t wrong!! We’d be devastated !

Got our genetic testing back today. It’s a boy! I was so hoping for a girl this time but I knew in my heart we’d get another boy. Is there any chance the NIPT is wrong [emoji23]

MLKA, oops, sorry for that mix up. I blame it on the pregnancy brain lol. There’s lots of really cool gadgets out now for babies! So much to catch up on!
Babybeaublue, best of luck with your ultrasound today! I can’t wait to read your update and see any posted pics!

Ashleylipsit, welcome and congratulations on both your pregnancy and finding out you’ve got the baby girl you were hoping for!
Limabean, I’m So sorry you were not able to get the gender you were hopefully by for this time! I don’t know what the statistics are on NIPT accuracy, But I remember hearing they’re pretty darn accurate.

Thanks! I’m just over 13 weeks, due in August. I had a gut feeling that he would be a boy, so I’m not really that surprised. What’s most important is that the testing also said he is healthy, so I’m trying to focus on that. [emoji4]
