Hi, no I haven't taken anything. I feel like it's my reassurance until I can feel baby move :) although with dd5 it lasted until 26 weeks and I don't think I can cope that long again!!

Mommy2apples

Lol we chatted that much! Can’t wait to see how many parts we get to before we all have our little babies!!

Is anyone else a bottomless pit? Omg I seriously cannot eat enough. I had chik-fil-a for lunch which usually fills me up for awhile, but nope, my stomach was growling a few hours later. I made soup for dinner and I’m afraid there won’t be any left for my husband! I’m not used to being able to eat so much in the first trimester, I’m afraid I’m going to gain sooo much.

Good to know I'm not alone with my appetite! I eat way more than usual already. I don't want meat but I do want lots of chocolate milk, rice, bread, fruit, eggs, potatoes, cereal and I love rice bowls from Chipotle (lots of guac)! And I'm always thirsty so I drink lots of ice water. I never used to drink Coke but it's one of the only things besides eggs and peppermint that helps my nausea. I'm 13 weeks today and the nausea is letting up just a little thank goodness.

I hope everyone is doing well today!

I went back to Part one thread to catch up :-)

Ellirosanne - beautiful pics of the babies!! So happy the babies are healthy and growing. I think I smiled all day after my NT scan this week - it's a great feeling to see baby doing well.

They want to take my baby at 37 weeks because last January I had a myomectomy to get rid of my huge fibroid (which was causing my other miscarriages). They had to cut into the uterus so they are concerned about uterine rupture. I am a little worried about having the baby so early but I found out a lot of women had perfectly healthy babies at that stage. Some of the concerns were respiratory issues and the baby's ability to nurse that soon. I'm trying to stay positive though.

My sister had her baby at 36 weeks and he is doing just fine. He did have troubles nursing and they gave her three steroid shots to make sure his lungs were developed ,he was born dec 16, due to her having preeclampsia.

Aww! Thanks for sharing that. I feel so much better when I hear positive stories. And he's so adorable! Do you know how much he weighed? Was she able to nurse at all? Both my girls were overdue and I had them vaginally so this will be so different for me. I nursed them both the first year so that is so important to me.

Mommy2apples
January 5th, 2018, 11:09 AM
He couldn’t latch properly, but I’m sure your nurses will be able to get him to nurse, with her being a first time mom she was nervous about nursing anyways, plus he went all day with out any wet diapers. Then once they gave him a bottle he had his first one, so that’s what she felt most comfortable with. He weighed 6lbs 1 oz and was 19 inches long. He would’ve been huge if he would’ve went full term. Lol

Same thing happened with my first daughter. Same weight and length too but she was born at 40 weeks. She had a hard time latching on and she was losing ounces so I almost gave up but the lactation specialist was able to help me and finally she latched on. So we will see what happens with this little one. 37 weeks will put me at the end of June and my oldest will be turning 15! Hard to believe they will be 15 years apart lol!

Birthdays are cool like that! Just might happen that way!

On my inlaws side all their grandchildren were born in the years 2003, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2015, and then this baby 2018.

Our kids birthday months go December skip January, February skip March, April skip May, June.

babybeaublue, I completely relate to your sentiment. I remember I felt the same way about the nausea, like at least it was kind of like reassurance baby was ok. But as soon as I felt it I'd take my B6....It's like a mixed bag.

Greydore, That's actually been my biggest crazy symptom this pregnancy, I thought maybe it was a twin thing. I'm literally constantly ravenous. And I don't mean hungry, I mean ravenously starving! Painfully so! I'm absolutely a bottomless pit!

Bunnygirl, poor thing, those are the same things I lived on first trimester. Seems like those are kind of more gentle on nausea

Ellirosanne
January 5th, 2018, 02:27 PM
Greydore, every night like clockwork I'm starving around ten, and have to get up out of bed and get a bowl of cereal. Then if I wake up at all during the night for more than a minute to pee, I end up so painfully hungry I have to eat

Mlka, That's how I am too, and I"m always thirsty as well. I constantly keep ice water with me. I'm glad your nausea is starting to let up! Mine is too. I think we have the same due date....I'll be induced or have a c/s early too if I make it that far, because of it being twins. Your baby will do great at 37 weeks...

Mommy2apples, he's so cuuuute! And you look beautiful!!!

Babybeaublue
January 5th, 2018, 02:30 PM
Mommy he is so cute!! That's my nephews birthday too! ( he's 29 though lol)
I just realised my mum and dad have 10 grandchildren so half of them are mine!!

Ellirosanne how do you take the b6? Does it matter if its already in your prenatal? It won't be too much?

Ellirosanne
January 5th, 2018, 02:30 PM
Mommy2apples, that's a lot of birthdays to shop for! LOL

OK, I"m on a mission to get my house cleaned back up from the holidays, and organized so I can start converting my 19 month old's room to a toddler room and start emptying out our extra room that we throw everything into so I can start transitioning it into a nursery. It's funny, I'll get it all ready for the babies but honestly, they'll totally end up sleeping with me lol

Ellirosanne
January 5th, 2018, 02:32 PM
babybeaublue, their just little pills you take every six hours, and from what I understand it's water soluble which means whatever you body doesn't need just comes out in your TMI: poop and pee......it really did help me a lot

MIka1104
January 5th, 2018, 02:35 PM
Ellirosanne - thanks for the positivity - I need that. Yes we have the same due date! I have my next appointment on Tuesday so I'll discuss the c/s with the doc then...I think they wait until later to determine the c/s date but I really have no idea. Mommy2Apples already has her scheduled birthdate for her little one! It helps to be able to plan but it does take some of the excitement away for me.

I have a question - when does the 2nd trimester start? I've heard 13w3 but my app says 14 weeks. I guess that's what I'll go with.

MIka1104

So exciting! I'm so nervous to start buying things or planning the room design. I have to stop being so cautious and just enjoy the moment. Sounds like you won't have to start over much if you have a 19-month old already Ellirosanne! Two babies and a toddler!! they will all grow up together!! So awesome.

Thanks Ellirosanne! He’s such a good baby doesn’t cry unless he’s hungry or has a dirty diaper! Lol mine cried a lot!
Lol it sure is Ellirosanne! I love how the years fall though!
Lol sounds like my kids! They always sleep with me!

Thanks bbb!! It’s crazy how fast they grow huh? lol mine are most of my inlaws too! [emoji23] like two aren’t!

Mlka: I’ve always had the dates known since my second baby.
14 weeks is what I’m gathering.

Ellirosanne I wondered a bit if it was twins because of the hunger, but nope just one! I’m pretty thin when I’m not pregnant so maybe it’s my body just wanting to pack on the reserves, haha.
Kudos to everyone who is so organized- I am not AT ALL. We know the baby will sleep with us until 4 months or so, so we won’t even worry about a space for baby til then (plus we only have 3 bedrooms and I’m dreading moving my boys in together!)

Mlka I’ve taken care of tons of 37 weekers, they do just fine and adjust well to the outside world :)

Mommy my boys were/are cryers too, lol. I’ve never had one of those easy, dream babies that people talk about.

Mommy2Apples my hubby B day is the 27th June he is the most laid back sweet guy , this bub they have already told me they will do my C section on the 16th of July at 39 weeks but i went into spontaneous labour at 38 weeks last baby only one i wasnt induced for but still had c section. this baby will be Cancerian like hubby he is happy about that. DS2 is leo like me but we butt heads lol

nausea is back this weekend but its 40 degrees in Adelaide Australia today so that probably doesn't help. I also get up to eat at night but im craving veggies all the time so i get Chinese food that i can heat up later if i'm too tired to cook :)

Mlka, I don't know why, but I have spent decades dreaming of how my childrens rooms would be decorated, how my house would be decorated, what my kids names would be.... I guess I'm very domesticated...It's almost embarrassing in this day and age, lol. I like to think I still have a wild side. When I was younger, my favorite game was Life, and my favorite part was putting little pink and blue "children" in my car, Lol I'd even name them. I had sooooo many dolls. And I'd sit and make rooms for them with shoe boxes, towels, blankets and bushes, (fort style) lol.

Mommy2apples, It's so bad, I'm a labor and deliver/post partum nurse, and I'm always teaching my patients, (by hospital policy) not to cosleep, yet, I can't imagine not having my son sleeping in my arms! Just have to figure out how to wean him and get him in a bed at least next to my bed before the babies come. Eek!

OK, here's my secret fear ladies. I'm divulging a secret fear of mine. I'm still breastfeeding my 19 month old and he sleeps in my arms in bed. I know I need to wean him and get him at least in a bed next to mine. But I so enjoy the closeness of both, and I'm kind of scared because days go by so quickly, and I get so busy sometimes with our daily activities, and I'm secretly scared I lose that bond he and I have. I love him so much it almost hurts, and what if that fades away once I'm no longer nursing him and sleeping with him in my arms and have more babies! Anyone else feel this way?

Ladies, I have my results!

It’s a healthy girl! I can’t believe it! I had convinced myself I could only have boys. I honestly feel like I’m dreaming. We did the gender reveal for the family and the emotions were high. Happy beyond words! Still can’t believe it!!

Ellirosanne- i think that’s totally normal. I had that same fear with my second and I ended up weaning him when he turned 2. He still sleeps with me and he’s even more cuddly and kissy with me now. I feel like we still have an amazing bond if not even more because now he just wants me for me and not just for food which I feel is an amazing feeling. :)

Elliosanne we always teach no co sleeping as well, even though we know that most do it regularly or from time to time! We did it out of desperation with our boys, not because we wanted to. Thankfully they were in their own cots by 4-6 months.

I don’t breastfeed or co sleep, and have wonderful bonds with my sons. And who knows, maybe he will wean by then? You’ll still enjoy snuggles and will have plenty of other ways to bond. My almost 2 year old and I rock in the rocking chair every night, and I love it. I’m enjoying every minute of his littleness because my 4 year old is such a ‘big’ boy now.

Ellirosanne:I feel you, because Braxton will not leave my bed once baby is here, Kolton just left my bed this year and he’s 4. Lol I’m hoping to get baby to sleep in an arms reach cosleeper bassinet right beside me, but if baby insists then it’ll be right in my bed also.
No way! Kolton was my breastfed baby and we are still just as close, nothing can break that bond. He’s my baby even if he is 5.

Aww simplypink! So excited for you!!

Ellirosanne i had to wean my dd5 as I kept getting mastitis. She was almost 2 and I would've kept going if I hadn't of been so sick but she is still my little shadow I can't go anywhere without her and she always wants me so I wouldn't worry about losing your bond x

Ladies can i please ask your advice - I have just booked in for the harmony test this fri (I asked for 19th after other scan to check about the sch but they had no appointment that day). They do a scan before harmony blood test. I'm petrified! I'll only be 10+3 , do u think I should wait till next week? 2 of my mmc's were 10+3 & 10+4. I don't know what to do. Should i wait until next week but then have 2 scans. It would be good to see baby this week rather than waiting till Fri week but I'm petrified...
Also do you think all these scans are safe? I had one last week, this week (if I do it) and next week to check sch bleed. I've already had 2 scans and I'm only 10w tomorrow.
I know miscarrying again is out of my control. With 2 mmcs at 10w as said above and the other at 18w, I'm just trying to do everything I can to give baby the best chance. Apologies for bothering u all again. I'd love some advice/opinions whether to do this scan on Friday

Dreaming, I had 3 miscarriages and completely understand your fears. I hadn't even thought of the scans being bad for baby...I've had about 4 scans so far and I'm 13 weeks. I am always anxious to have them just to check on the baby. I'm curious to hear what the others think about this but I don't think the scans are dangerous. You should definitely talk to your doctor about the risks of multiple ultrasounds before you decide. I really hope it works out this time for you!

Ellirosanne
January 8th, 2018, 03:48 PM
DreamingRainbow, I'm sure your scans are safe, I have always done them a lot too, because of where I work, but also, this time, because of it being twins. Your concerns are completely understandable after everything you've been through. You're concerns couldn't possibly bother anyone! That's the point of the support group! I can't advise you, but I can say that I think that either way you are fine

I've had a rough few days. We went out Saturday night to celebrate my daughter's first place competition and I've been stuck in bed sick ever since with a nasty stomach bug. I'm finally able to keep fluids and some food down because I was concerned about dehydration. I hate being sick cause I feel like my husband is only feeding the kids junk and the house won't get cleaned right BUT this time I didn't worry about a thing! I just stayed in bed for 2 days straight.

I'm hoping to get a call this week about my tests! So nervous!! Am I the only one waiting this week?

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Mlka I hope you feel better soon. Being sick while you’re pregnant is like a double whammy. I took my boys to the mall today to play and I’m exhausted...I’ll be doing nothing for the rest of the day!

I’m still waiting to hear from the office about when I can do the first trimester screen. I still don’t know if insurance will cover it since I’m low risk, so I feel like everything is up in the air right now. If insurance doesn’t cover it we won’t do it. I don’t want to wait until 20 weeks to find out, so I might be scanning myself at work at 13 weeks if that’s the case! Mommy when do you find out??

Also what’s everyone craving now? I love talking about food [emoji23]I want lots of dairy- yogurt, cheese, milk. Soup is my favorite meal, especially homemade tomato! I can’t seem to handle sweets and desserts, which is so crazy. I’m normally a sugar fiend and would live on cookies, but they are so unappetizing right now. My morning sickness is minimal but the only times I’ve vomited is after eating something sweet.

Congrats Momma Bear!

I'm feeling a little better but I'm still so nauseated. Thanks for the well wishes!! I think it was the seafood I ate Saturday night. Ellirosanne, my daughter is a serious allstar cheerleader. She's 10 and has been at it since 6. She's pretty amazing. My older daughter was an acro gymnast but she's taking time off now that she's in high school. They are both SUPER expensive sports but it's worth it because the girls are so talented!

And so now I just found out I'll be having another little girl!! I had my check up today and totally didn't expect the dr to tell me she had the results. When she told me female I was completely shocked. She had to show me the screen because I didn't believe her. I am still in shock. I really wanted a boy for my husband. I am happy to be having a girl but sad I will never have my son. It'll take a little while for this to sink in. And the thought of dealing with comments from friends and family. Especially my husband...all his friends have boys now.

He took the news really well though - but I don't think he will show me his true feelings. He says he's happy as long as we have a healthy baby especially after losing 3. Three girls will take some getting used to. My 10-year old will be beyond happy though :-)

We’re (almost) all grown up now and my dad tells everyone how much he loves having girls. He now has 2 grandsons with another due any day. So he didn’t get sons, but having grandsons is so wonderful for him. Are you going to let your daughters help name little sister?

People can be really rude without thinking.
My Dh was never really bothered about getting a boy. He would've been fine with whatever we got. Bit annoying actually lol!

As soon as the family heard about our pregnancy everyone started saying well I'll pray it's a boy or I know you guys really want that boy. It's really annoying. I want everyone to be happy for us and not pity us. My mom just had 2 granddaughters last year and she just made a comment that she just knows this one is a boy. Momma bear yes when I was pregnant with my boy I wanted burgers and pickles a lot. I don't even eat burgers. This time I don't want meat just dairy and sweets just like my other daughters. I kinda knew it was a girl, esp with the nausea. I barely had much nausea with the boy - I had fatigue. But no fatigue this time. Plenty of energy. I had lots of energy with my girls but I thought that was because I was in my 20s. I guess symptoms can be the same with gender. Did you experience the same thing?

Momma bear yes when I was pregnant with my boy I wanted burgers and pickles a lot. I don't even eat burgers. This time I don't want meat just dairy and sweets just like my other daughters. I kinda knew it was a girl, esp with the nausea. I barely had much nausea with the boy - I had fatigue. But no fatigue this time. Plenty of energy. I had lots of energy with my girls but I thought that was because I was in my 20s. I guess symptoms can be the same with gender. Did you experience the same thing?

Yes your boy symptoms sounds the same when I was pregnant with my son.

Still not told DH and not sure how to as he has been in two minds about the whole thing since we started. Looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing this journey together [emoji4]

Aww so sweet grace :)

Has anyone on here done Sneakpeek? Most of the reviews are positive, I guess some get false boy results because their test got contaminated by male dna in the house. We found out that our insurance won’t cover any first trimester screening so I’m desperate now, lol.

I am 12 weeks, and yesterday we did our genetic screening scan. Everything looked great and low risk with baby, but the cyst on one of my ovaries (I already knew about), was concerning the doctor because it was not clear (they kind they often remove to biopsy). They will either take them out because they are suspicious or large enough to cause pain and risk to the ovary. I had one removed surgically before for the second reason. My head is swimming and my heart is heavy with worry. I don’t know if I have any specific questions. I’m looking for support, especially if you’ve had cysts during pregnancy. They are scanning me again in 4 weeks to see if size grew, and that is supposed to be most low risk time for surgery. I do have some pain with this one and I’m worried.

Hi Greydore,

I'm not sure where you're based but I'm doing a blood test at 10 weeks to check the gender, the company is called Easydna and it's a reputable company. I've used them for other tests but the gender test costs $300 so not sure if you're interested in spending the money but if you're like me and just busting to find out the gender there are blood tests you can take. Hope that helps :)

I was wondering for the gender blood test does the doctors office do that? Or do you have to go somewhere else and pay?

Hi Momma bear 4, I'm in Sydney, Australia and I know of two ways you can get this test. One way is to order it by phone or online, I only know Easydna ($300) as others are a scam or you can go to your doctor and ask for a Non-invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) ($420) through Sonic genetics - Home | Sonic Genetics (http://www.sonicgenetics.com.au). You have to make sure they tick the gender box and then you take the form to a Laverty pathology clinic (there's usually a few in every suburb) and you get the results 5 days later. Hope this helps :)

Mummy it checks for your risk level of certain trisomies and can tell you the gender. It’s a simple blood test. It might have a different name in the U.K.? Finding out the gender so early is nice, but I also want to know my risk of having a baby with a trisomy. It’s not diagnostic so if it comes back high risk for something you’d need an amnio or cvs to know for sure.

Hi ladies! I did my nipt test today (called Harmony here). I'll have the results in 7-10 days. More importantly I had another scan and all is great with baby. I asked the lady about my SCH bleed which was diagnosed last week in the early pregnancy unit(epu). She couldn't see a bleed??! I asked if it could have healed with a week of rest which she said was possible but she said she can't see anything resembling a bleed? I'm trying to not get too excited as her machine wasnt as clear as the other machine last week in the epu. I have a scan next week in epu to check status of bleed but for today I'm delighted baby is progressing as it should!
Now we need to decide if we want to be told the gender when they phone me.
We didn't find out on our 2 girls and I loved the surprise each time. I swayed boy and I would love a son. I'm wondering if I am better to find out now in case I have gender disappointment and can process it or wait for the surprise at birth? After such a late loss last year i just want my 3rd (& final) baby so overall I couldn't give a rashers what it is so long as it's healthy and mine!
Thoughts? X

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkMummy as greydore says it tests for down syndrome, Edwards and a 3rd I can't remember what it's called. This nipt test which is called Harmony (like called this in UK) also can tell gender and checks for gender chromosome issues (like if a girl is missing an x chromosome) I had mine done today. It was €430. We haven't decided if we want to learn the gender yet. Hope this helps

I've been off for a couple of days and so much to catch up on in here!

Momma bear 4, Welcome and congratulations on baby #5! The nausea is so hard, did you have that with your previous pregnancies and find anything that worked for you? I know a few mommy's have found some relief taking vitamin B6 every six hours. I took that and unisom each night at bedtime and it did definitely help a bit.

Greydore, mostly what I'm craving is things like pasta, potatoes, carbs, lol. Right now I'm totally craving chilli cheese fries from Weinersnitzel, lol. Also all of the sudden lately I'm craving sweets and chocolate.....

Milka, I'm so glad you're starting to feel a bit better. Sounds like you have a couple of awesomely talented daughters, and now one more little talented family member on the way! I am sorry you did not get the gender results you were hoping for hon. Comments from friends and family can be so hard to deal with, I've totally been there. I'm glad your husband seemed to take the news so well though, and that your feeling happy still about this. Have you told your ten year old yet? That'll be fun!

Ellirosanne

Mlka, what name have your girls picked out for a girl? Do you think you'll use the name the girls picked? I can't wait to read your update after your gender reveal! Cupcakes sounds so fun! I think mourning the boy you wanted is completely normal and understandable. I'm so sorry you lost your boy... and I'm sorry you're struggeling so much with what rude comments people can make, and about dissappointing others. That's so not fair to have to deal with at a time when you want people to be excited for you!

Babybeaublue, people can be so ridiculously shallow and insensitive!

mummy2boys, mine didn't get too much darker by day either. I think if you want to see the obvious differences, you have to wait a few days between tests. Maybe you can ask your dr for the quantitative hcgs to do two days apart so you can see if your levels double? Fingers crossed for you

Greydore, so happy you'll get to find out your results sooner that you expected! Yay!

Yay Momma bear!! I had HG with my oldest so I know how debilitating nausea and vomiting can be. Happy it’s working for you.

I’m not showing, but it usually takes me awhile to show and I never get a big belly. My coworkers teased me about having a tiny baby and I measured small, but my second son was 8 lbs 5 oz. Sadly I’ve gained 13 lbs already so I’m just bigger all over with no bump to show for it...sigh.

I’m prone to cysts and have had them during pregnancy as well. They have always left them alone in pregnancy aside from monitoring and they’ve always shrunk on their own.

Mamabear4 hope your feeling better! I am 13 weeks and I have been more nauseated this week then previous weeks. :/ hoping it gets better as well.

I showed very early with my last two kids. I remember people taking notice around 10 weeks but this time around it’s much smaller and barely there. I bought a bunch of maternity clothes that I found on sale today because it was so cheap and I know I’ll need it later.

The flu season is upon us, I’m so scared to get it. I have mixed feelings about getting the flu shot. Did anyone get the flu shot while pregnant?

Mommy2apples, He's such a good little guy normally! The past couple days he has started this new thing where when something doesn't go his way, or he doesn't get something he wants, he litterally throws himself on the ground crying furiously and writhing and litterally like scooting backwards on his back across the floor. If I try to pick him up to console him, he writhes his way out of my arms like fighting me and grabbing me and pinching me with his hands in frustration! I was so stunned the first time he did it, I literally just stared at him in amazement, in shock, lol. I am trying to figure out the most effective good parenting way to manage these. I think their probably just classic toddler temper tantrums that I thought we would completely escape since he hadn't had them yet, lol. I've tried picking him up and holding him even though he's fighting me and talking to him in soothing tones, and ignoring him and keeping myself busy doing something else. He doesn't seem to be able to resolve it himself though. Like if I ignore him, I have to only do it for so long, and then pick him up and comfort him and he'll then calm himself down by nursing. But I don't think he can calm himself down yet without some help. But it only works if I give him a few minutes to roll around throwing a fit first lol. Ugh, Anyone else deal with this, and what did you do? On another note, gosh, that stinks that you're not feeling better! The second trimester is supposed to be the fun enjoyable one! No fair!

Greydore, thank you! He seems to be all better now, it was a wierd short lived bug. Only symptoms he ever got were a fever and lethargy

Mommabear4, I feel better now thank goodness! I hope it works for you! I agree with Greydore, take extra B6 and unisom at bedtime....that's what I did.....it didn't completely take it away but it helped a lot

I highly recommend it. I’ve seen way too many young, healthy people die from the flu. Since I work in a hospital it’s required or we lose our job. I got it before I was pregnant this time, but had it while pregnant with both my boys. It’s very safe during pregnancy.

He may sense the new baby, mines been acting up lately too awful. But my sister also lives with us with my nephew... so lol that’s contributing. We moved back in with my mom when my dad died to help her out. So crowded at times, but I like it. I try to ignore it and then end up giving in to him. He doesn’t throw them for too long though. Will probably get worse once there’s two babies in his territory rather than just one.

Im feeling better on the nausea side , still exhausted but my varicose veins are hurting and im already on blood thinner injections and asprin. one feels like a knot i just want it to stop pinching, will have to look into whether anything can be done while pregnant. i was told last time i saw a specialist for them that i would have to have them stripped from the groin, not a candidate for laser.. yeah like i could lay down after surgery for 2 weeks with 4 kids before this pregnancy lol

hope everyone else is getting less and less nausea etc. xx

I dont get the flu shot. I got it once and felt super horrible. Never again. In the news the other day a lady died and she got the flu shot she still got super sick with the flu. Just be careful not to be around alot of people out there.

Momma bear the flu shot doesn’t cover every strain of the flu, it would be almost impossible to make one that does because of how viruses mutate. It doesn’t mean no one should get it.

Grace that sounds miserable. That’s awful you’re dealing with that on top of pregnancy, I hope you can get some relief.

Grace - sorry to hear that. I deal with varicose veins also when I'm pregnant :-( I can already feel them - although they haven't started bothering me yet. I swelled up so badly with my last daughter - it was so painful to walk. I'll have to discuss this with my doctor at my next appointment. I'll be 15 weeks this week and it usually starts bothering me sometime during the second trimester.

i know i'm not the only one with varicose veins so i hope no one else gets them this achy , its summer here 41C tomorrow so if i start wearing support stockings now ill have to stay in air con lol at least i'm due in our winter :)

I know! We've told most people were expecting but not telling the gender until the ultrasound just in case the blood test isn't accurate.

As for the gender I'm going to take my results to a balloon/party shop and get them to do a balloon gender reveal that we can just do at home with the boys and all find out together. How about you??

If it's a girl I am genuinely afraid for my bank account because I am going to go crazy! If it's a boy I have plenty of clothes so I'll save some money that way.

Momma if you don’t feel comfortable announcing, then announce after baby is born. Let it be your enjoyment. Those naysayers have no right to dampen your mood, though I know they do. How unfair is that of them though! Luckily I’ve pretty much avoided any naysayers this time thankfully. Probably because I ask the lord to block them out so I can be happy and he’s doing a really good job, because I don’t have to listen about it. I’m genuinely excited and thankful to the lord for completing our family finally! It’s always in his timing, never in ours!

I was wondering if I still want to have a baby shower/ baby sprinkle. I was sure that I wanted to have one if it was our first son but now I'm wondering if we should. Isn't there a whole baby shower etiquette people follow? Are any of you having a shower or sprinkle for your baby?

Hi everyone! Been busy these past couple weeks with work and a teething 6 month old. So exciting that everyone is finding out genders and seeing their babies! We just went to the doctor Wednesday for our first visit at 8 weeks and saw baby and heartbeat. Official due date is August 29th, although baby is already measuring ahead. My daughter was 9lb 8 oz so a little nervous how big this next little one is going to be! LOL. Doctor is sending us for the Harmony test in 4 weeks so we should hopefully find out gender mid-late February. I can't believe its so soon!

Yankee that’s awesome! And wow, that is a big first baby- usually your second is bigger, especially if it’s a boy!

Mlka my friends asked if they could throw me a shower if we have a girl. If it’s another boy we won’t have one, but our boys are little. If it had been 10 years since our last baby I would go for it! I’m sure family and friends would be happy to do it.

Momma bear announce when you are ready, and like mommy said, just don’t if you don’t want to! You deserve to enjoy your pregnancy without people’s crappy comments.

How is everyone feeling? I’m 11 weeks have been really nauseous these past few days...I thought I had escaped it this time. I read that hormones peak around 10-11 weeks then go down as the placenta takes over so I hope this is short lived.

Thanks! Yes one of my best friends already thought about throwing the shower. She doesn't know we are having a girl yet - I'm not telling anyone until maybe March. I'm like Momma bear - I want to keep something to myself for awhile because I'm sure we will hear people's negative comments about gender. But I agree about celebrating - especially after 3 losses and 3 years of trying!

Mommy2apples, I can't wait to feel her move! Have you felt your baby move yet? I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow so I'm getting closer to feeling some little flutters.

Yankee - I'm glad things are going well! Whew 9lbs! I bet she was just adorable! My baby is also measuring bigger so far. Did you have her vaginally? I'm a bit down that I will have to have a c section this time around but it is nice that I will have a scheduled date - definitely helps me plan a little better.

Don’t let them know until you are ready. She is still your joy! Any baby is a blessing no matter the gender for sure!

I've been feeling a bit better this week finally. I have my moments of nausea still. 11 weeks was the worse week for me. I didn't know that the hormones peak around that time so I guess that explains it. Week 12 was also esp bad. I'm glad I seem to be missing the fatigue though. It can be so hard when you have to be mommy to your other kids. Not to mention wife and full time employee.

Mlka, I kind of feel unsure about a shower as well. I know work will throw me one, but I feel awkward about friends or family since this is definitely not my first rodeo. I’m not sure if the etiquette either. It seems like a lot of people that use these boards for swaying or gender selection support are mostly trying to have a girls, although I do see an occasional attempt for a boy being made. It does make for a lot of baby girls on the site. I feel so incredibly blessed! I’ll be honest, I am a tiny bit nervous about bonding since my girls are from donor eggs. I’m hoping that all my fears will vanish when I see their beautiful little faces come out. I’ll be breast-feeding them too so I’m also hoping the hormones from breast-feeding will help too.

Mommy2apples, I completely agree with you, All babies are special and deserve to be celebrated! I can’t wait to start feeling these babies moving!

Yankeesgirl, wow! Your two little ones will be so close in age! What a marvelous adventure you’re going to have! Isn’t the heartbeat just the loveliest!

I’m prone to cysts and have had them during pregnancy as well. They have always left them alone in pregnancy aside from monitoring and they’ve always shrunk on their own.

Thanks. Unfortunately this type of cyst doesn’t go away on it’s own. My follow up with my Ob was good. She is confident that it won’t show a problem during pregnancy but it will need removal when I’m done. Not the best but not the worst.

Ellirosanne - I know my coworkers will also throw me a shower as well. I would love to do something with my family and close friends to celebrate the baby.
Also, I understand your fear but you will definitely bond with your babies! Breastfeeding will help that process as well.

I have to have a C-section because I had a myomectomy a year ago and they cut through my uterus. I had to have a big fibroid removed because it was causing miscarriages. They also said I will have the baby at 37 weeks to prevent a uterine rupture. I'm hoping I will be able to breastfeed with no issues.

baby showers weren't a thing in Australia when i had my first 14 years ago, then i went on to have 2 more boys when friends were starting to think about kids and by my 4th they were all having showers so i reluctantly had one as to not feel left out in my circle of friends/family but i didn't want blue so chose to have a rainbow theme and no gifts just donations to heartkids charity (my godson was born with half a heart) heartkids got 200 bucks :)
I wasn't going to have one for this long awaited girl but when i lost her sister i thought hey i am celebrating this little girl she is a miracle to have worked first go in ivf as well so i will let my friends throw the shower in pink and who cares if anyone thinks i love my daughter more because if they knew me they would know how much i love all of my boys and her equally :)

Hi Ladies, can I join the group? I am Due around 25th July with twins! Not sure what the genders are yet.
I have two gorgeous girls aged 7 and 4 and we are really hoping for a little boy and girl next or two boys. I have had a pretty okay pregnancy so far. Symptoms not too bad as most people told me it would be.
I swayed for a boy Jan - June last year, but then gave up due to health issues and we also gave up TTC and then a surprise BFP! Did not expect that!

Welcome TwinMom and congrats!! How exciting! When will you find out genders of your twins?

How has everyone’s boys reacted to the pregnancy? Obviously my 2 year old doesn’t get it, but my 4 year old just isn’t interested. He’ll say things like he hopes the baby can come out soon, but it’s more that he wants me back to normal (we tell him how the baby makes me tired, etc). Neither of my boys have any interest in babies, so I think he’s just being a boy. He is adamant he wants a sister though, and is going to be very disappointed when it’s a boy :/

I still have nausea some days it isn't too bad and then others it's not Great! Also with every pregnancy I've had a horrible taste in my mouth the 1st trimester (not metallic just really yuck) it gets worse in the evenings and is making me feel worse.

Hi ladies sorry I have been mia lately, I'm trying to catch up on all the goss.
Huge congrats to you all on your little girls! There certainly seems to be a lot of girls due july/Aug - makes me a bit nervous as I swayed blue!

I know a few of you work in the medical field and I'm hoping for some advice. All please feel free to weigh in too!
So I've spent the past 24 hours admitted to a main hospital with a suspected clot in my lung. Thankfully last night they confirmed I do not have a clot. But they cannot explain why I feel breathless and have to work for breath more often than not. The hosp suggested it could be baby pressing on diaphragm (doesn't that seem too early as I'm only 11 weeks?) Or pregnancy induced asthma. I never had this on my other pregnancies. Any ideas or has anyone ever had this?!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks mommy. I'm delighted it's not a clot. I never even considered it being anything serious. I assumed they'd give me a different inhaler.

Greydore, aww that's cute that your son wants a little sister to protect! We got our harmony results yday but we decided not to find out the gender. My 2 girls are obsessed with "babas" (their dolls) so i see this baby being tormented and put in their dolly prams!!

Do you feel breathless from early in pregnancy? I have never had this in previous pregnancies and its horrible. I can't even finish a sentence without having to stop for breath.
