Okay so this is a "pretty" typical day for me and I try to do better and better the closer Ovulation gets...

Right now it's going on 3 so im only going to eat 1 more time today (dinner)...

This is what i've had-

peppermint tea and 2 slices of white toast with strawberry jam
diet cranberry juice, 5 crackers with strawberry jam, and 2 cookies
a few sips of crystal light in bottled wather
4 bbq chips and 1/2 bite of my son's taco

Im at 560 calories, 86% is carbs, 6% (7.4) is protein, 7% fat, and 570 sodium.

Do you think what im eating is ok? Anything you feel I should change?

The rest of my day I will most likely have 2 more glasses of peppermint tea, 1 glass of cranberry juice, and my dinner.

Thanks!

Seems like maybe a lot of sodium if you havent had dinner yet?

That sodium level is fine but you really must eat more... its not healthy to eat so little. Even empty calories like marshmallows are better. Pasta is a good way of getting more calories and I'd avoid meat if you can especially red meat.

Have you seen the daily food lists some of us post in? That's good for ideas and is stickied at the top.

If you have to go over on any of them its worth going over on sodium to get more calories in and to get within the protein and fat boundaries...

It's easy to not eat enough on this diet but still feel full, just remember that you might have to keep this diet up for many months before and during ttc

I think it would have been fine if you had eaten dinner!

Wowzuhs! I agree w/rainbow...You need more cals, hungry Mama! You would probably want to get at least 1200 (if not 1400+!)It may help you to do some food logging for a week or so to see your diet (cals/protein/fat/sodium). I am just starting to sway again now and I am food logging again for a few wks to get the portions, etc. back into place. I highly suggest MyFitnessPal since it's free, easy and you can see your totals. You can also create/save recipes to log later. This is what mine looks like (if I can figure out how to post it...My diet that day wasn't exactly girl-sway friendly but you get the picture):

You can modify your daily goals if you want...This is just how I had mine set up a bit ago...
Hope this helps you!!!

Not enough fat or calories or protein, but as long as you eat a big dinner you can make up for that. Remember, it's not NO everything, it's LOW everything. :)

I think everyone's concern over the sodium is, that for you to get the 1000 calories you still need to for dinner to get yourself into a decent calorie intake, you may end up going over on sodium by the end of it. If not for the fact that you had so many cals you needed to eat and so little sodium left to use up, I think 570 with one meal left to go is ok.

Of course, I think sodium is the "best" cheat to have so if you go over a little bit, it may not be the end of the world. That having been said, there's prob. better ways to get sodium than chips. We're trying to just cut back on nutrients, not starve ourselves totally of nutrients.

I would rather see you eat 2-3 actual meals than grazing all day in terms of blood sugar, but I don't think it's a make or break thing.

I'm also concerned about your potassium intake, are you tracking that? REmember, you need 2500-3500 a day for your health. I would consider adding maybe an apple or banana, and possibly a coconut water, which will give you some potassium and a smidge more calories.
