Hello!

My amazing little boy just turned 6 months only on the 14th of January. My husband and I are excitedly talking about TTC our next child ASAP!

A little background, I had a lot of gender disappointment with my son. Both my husband and I were hoping for a girl but had a boy instead. I actually broke down crying when I got my positive test because I just KNEW that he was a boy eventhough I wanted a girl so badly! Intuition I gues?

Well here we are and we couldn't be more in love with our boy but we still want a girl!

I want to know more about swaying while breastfeedung since I am still nursing my son. I would be worried that a restrictive diet might hurt my milk supply which is already fragile due to my hypothyroidism. That brings me to my next point, I have Hashis! It's an autoimmunie thyroid condition that can be very diet sensitive.

SO! I want to know where to start?

TIA!

I have everyone swaying while breastfeeding to start off at upper levels of LE Diet - 1800-2000 cals, 50-60 g protein, 50-60 g fat. Luckily, this is also in line with the kind of diet I recommend for Hashimoto's patients as well. In addition to eating 50-60 g protein and fat, you'd need to get your calories from whole grains, fruits and vegetables rather than white refined carbs and sugar. Also, full fat dairy only for you - NO skim dairy. This is very important.

No swaying supplements while breastfeeding, they don't work anyway.

I would really strongly recommend waiting till your baby is 9 months old or older to start dieting. Not only will it affect your milk supply but can also make it take much longer for your cycle to resume postpartum and if it's already back, can make ovulation delayed or stopped.
