Hi ladies,

I'm just after some feedback and suggestions on what foods you think are good in a blue sway. I think I've got dinners sorted and have definitely upped the red meat and veggies of recent but not sure what to eat during the day.

Breakfast suggestions to date:
Eggs
Cereal
Porridge

Snack suggestions:
Full fat yoghurt
Nuts
Eggs
Fruit
Smoothies
Cheese and crackers
Carrots and dip

I'm struggling with lunch ideas. Currently eating sandwiches most days but these typically have some processed meat like ham so I think I need a better alternative. Do you think just make extra dinner and have as left overs? Will need something quick as I need to be up and out the house pretty quickly.

Drinks
Tea
Lemon water
Coconut water
V8 juice

TIA

Leftovers make for great lunches. I often had leftovers when I conceived DS1 and DS2. I usually liked chili made with ground beef or beef stew as both are easy to make big batches of and reheat well. I also ate a lot of grilled chicken, turkey burgers, sliced turkey or ham on sandwiches or salads. I always had some sort of meat at lunch and dinner. Nachos were one of my favorites too. I'd pile on the full fat cheese, sour cream, beans, and ground meat. Chicken salad or egg salad sandwiches were a fave too using full fat mayo. I rarely ate really carb-y foods at lunch like rice or pasta. It was almost always sandwiches, soups/stews, or meat of some sort on a salad with cheese, egg, and dressing.

Yes everything Ks said. I always had leftovers for lunch- spaghetti (with mince beef) roast meat sandwiches, egg and lettuce sandwiches, always meat/salmon/tuna, cheese and salad on either a wrap or bread or just a big salad or a good old toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich.
Also ate lots of chips( salt and vinegar smiths were my fave!)
Lots of olives, cheese and crackers
Lots of Ribena juice and full fat yoghurt like king island or Gippsland brand( you know the ones with passionfruit or mango pulp?)
Lots of egg, cheese and bacon muffins on the weekend ( homemade not from Mcdonalds) or eggs on avocado on toast with a tomato salsa on the side.
Sauce on everything from tomato to mint jelly and apple sauce and everything in between lol! I'm the condiment queen!
Lots of salty cashews and macadamia nuts
Dark chocolate ( loved old gold rum and raisin)
Lots of smoothies made with banana mango full fat yoghurt full fat milk and honey
Natural fruit and nut muesli mixed with full fat yoghurt and topped with fruit like strawberries mango and tinned fruit
Dinner was always meat ( lamb cutlets, pork chops, sausages, steak) with at least 5 veges and always mashed potato!
Also lots of Mexican with minced beef and lots of cheese, sour cream and guacamole- yum!

Good luck Mia!

Muesli bars are always good for morning tea too. I loved anything with oats, fruit and yoghurt. So I also ate a lot of yogurt covered things lol
I also after had tuna on crackers or tuna sushi.
I think your diet looks great for blue x

Mia – woohoo, gearing up the diet! :D Did you get your IUD out? ;)

Looks like a very good blue friendly diet – and what the ladies have added is great ;)
I always did leftovers as lunches – makes it easier ^^ ( not that I should say too much, clearly am not an example of a successful sway haha)

FX hon!

Thanks KS and Kittendreams, you boy mums have such great examples of healthy varied diets. I totally wish I'd known about swaying before DD1 as I know now how 180 degrees different I was eating from this. I appreciate the reassurance on the diet stuff, it's one of those things you think you've got it under control and then as the time gets closer you sweat over all the tiny things like what drink to have.

LMSM, yes I had my iud out just over a week ago. Still having some light bleeding but looks like it's all settling into a normal cycle. Still a little unsure whether we will take the plunge when ttc time comes around but I'm gearing up to none the less. I know it must be difficult to see your sway as "successful" given DD3 is on her way but I definitely think your sway was a classic boy sway, you must have increased your chances of boy so much and just didn't have it go your way.

Great news – the fact you are taking out the IUD is a step forward – I daresay if you’ve made that move, the TCC Will follow suit even if at this stage you’re still a tad unsure! ;)

I guess it just wasn’t meant to be for me to have a son – at least, not at this stage – and we may never have one (oh how I pray DD3 is “easy” so that it doesn’t deter hubs from potentially agreeing to a #4..but then I know I will be SO SO SO nervous about another unsuccessful sway/girl, not sure I’d come through that unscathed (between my own GD, and the endless comments about having 3 girls which frankly are still hurting now – and I know always will).

It's looking great to me! What I often did was exactly that - leftovers. I also just made a couple yum recipes that I have used for lunches all week the last 2 weeks (with a lot of fresh tomato!):

Tuna sandwiches, PBJ, bean and cheese burritos, Egg salad, hummus wraps/sandwiches all great options on HE Diet for lunch (ate tons of these things when I got my boys!!) This is a great idea for a thread BTW!

Boy diets aren't easier for people who don't like eating that way, though!! The grass is always greener! Good luck to all swayers!
