Sorry if this is explained somewhere I couldn’t find it, also googled and got mixed answers.
I always ovulate late (cd18 plus) I came across a post saying this means egg quality will be low and less likely to implant siscessyfully, is this true and something I need to fix?

No, I don't believe it does. Except when I was swaying, I've always ovulated late (usually cd25 or later) and I don't have problems with egg quality. The egg isn't just sitting around, raring to go and turning bad as it awaits release. Atomic answered a similar question some months ago that may help: here (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/58132-delayed-ovulation-egg-quality.html) and here (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/59396-long-cycle-should-i-still-ttc-skip-month.html)

Nope. A study done on cycle length showed that women had successful pregnancies regardless of how early or late they ovulated. Also, cycles tend to get shorter as women age.
Edit: sorry I should add that as long as the cycle is ‘within’ normal length. If the cycle is outside of normal ranges there was some decrease in fertility. I’m looking for the link.

I'm wondering if those that had longer than normal cycles with a decrease in fertility had PCOS since that by itself can cause fertility issues, not just the cycle length.

I have pcos, but ovulate every month not sure if that means it would apply to me

NO. This has been debunked. It is the REASON why people are ovulating late (and some of these people, are ovulating like once every 6-12 months!!) that causes the small!!!! statistical correlation between late O and fertility issues. Totally debunked.

:agree: Exactly, and there are also lots of things that can come with a PCOS diagnosis such as Hashimoto's, Type 2 diabetes, etc not to mention that some PCOSers have as severe a level of PCO as they do because of unhealthy lifestyle and too many carbs (which CAN cook a person's eggs even if htey don't have PCOS).
I have done SOOOO much research about this, you guys, and I PROMISE this is not a thing. It's a coincidence and is not anything that 98% of the ladies on this site even need to be concerned with.

That is really interesting to know about high carb diet hurting eggs. Before I got pregnant I did about a month of a PCOS friendly diet which was low in sugar and low in simple carbs, so I wouldn't eat cookies, cake, white bread, etc., but I did eat a lot of whole wheat bread, beans, and whole wheat pasta which are all high carb.
Now I'm wondering if I need to change my diet to make it lower carb.
What do you think would be worse for me in terms of conception: drinking a lot of whey protein, or eating a lot of beans (high carb).

I can't say, there is no data comparing the two in terms of fertility. I also suspect there are other things in the whey protein drink like sugar (right?)
Beans are high carb but because they have fiber and protein with them they are not as bad for egg quality as sugar and white flour. The complex carbs in beans and whole grains are ok for PCOS.

I still haven’t ovulated and I’m on day 25, feeling quite disheartened not sure where to go from here?

Girlsway is this the first time this has happened to you? If it is it’s probably just a fluke. I think you mentioned you have PCOS? Maybe call your doctor after this cycle and see if something like Metformin would help you. But like I said, it could just be a random long cycle since you seemed to have fairly regular cycles.

What will happen if it’s a fluke, will I get a period or not until i ovulate?

Either could happen. The cycle that I took Soy Isoflavones, I didn't ovulate at all but got AF when I normally would anyway. At other times I've gone months without AF or ovulation.

Yes, I am thin and don't have hair issues a d have normal testosterone levels, but I have ovulation problems. I tried for 12 months to get pregnant, during which I think I ovulated 7 times, but I only got pregnant on my first attempt using Clomid 50 mg. Now I am post partum and am TTC #2 and am having trouble ovulating, but that could be because I'm still not quite 6 months post partum. I never breastfed though, so I think it's because of the PCOS 😑

Just wait. You will O or get AF (usually a breakthrough bleed, but you may have missed ovulation) eventually.
If you want to see a doctor that's totally your call but usually they won't do anything other than tell you to wait it out.

It is not unusual to need to wait 6+ months after having a baby to get pregnant again. Your body just went through the wringer and needs time to recover. This could have been the difference between life and death only a few decades ago and we have had thousands if not millions of years of evolution keeping us from getting pregnant before our bodies were ready!

You will either ovulate and get AF eventually or your body will have what is called a breakthrough bleed, which is just that your lining will slough off and this acts as a reset button.
Your doctor can give you medication that can cause this bleed to happen, but they are not always willing to do this and will often just have you wait it out.
