So we have decided to try for one last baby. I thought after 3 our family would feel complete but my daughter is almost 4 and we are still feeling that tug. So we are giving ourselves 2 cycles to try for one last baby, and if it doesn't happen then we will have peace that it's not God's plan for us.

While I would be thrilled with another boy (my boys are now 8 and 6), the kids are thinking it would be nice for Cora to have a sister and I too can see the value in that. So I find myself here again in this lovely community where I spent hours helping others, studying nub shots, and getting support when we needed it to see if I can sway the odds in my favor for a girl once again. <3

I would love any guidance based on what recommendations have changed since my last sway and what I should stick with. We are going to try in Feb and March, so I don't have much time to prepare but I also didn't prepare too long last time. Does anyone have advice for me? Thank you in advance. By the way, I am still occasionally nursing my 3 year old (about once a day). Everything else is about the same. Still on the tired side (I'm a work-at-home mama so I work late at night when the kids go to bed). Pretty low stress though in general. I'm happy. And FYI this first attempt will be during a full moon phase (actually blue moon).

Here is how our very gentle sway went last time (I just looked it up...I had forgotten parts of it!):

I basically didn't eat breakfast for that month, ate very little meat for a few months, low-ish sodium, drank a lot of CL and DH did too, lots of carbs, folic acid, calcium, and cranberry supps, took Vitex AF-O, and tried to lower my testosterone as much as possible by staying stress-free and avoiding food sources of testosterone.
I had also just finished nursing and had lower T than with my boys, I'm SURE of it and I think that was key for me. Was also sleep-deprived and generally felt less healthy than I did when I conceived the boys. When conceiving the boys I had stayed well nourished and been exercising regularly. Used rephresh as lube, jump & dump after 5 mins.

The things that were against me: I had just finished a course of antibiotics from a UTI, I did have an O (oops--accidental) and I ovulated on or the day before that big super moon, so that was a false theory for me. Biorhythms said boy. I did do a lot to counteract ions though, just in case. Also used rephresh to keep ph low during the first two attempts. We made 3 attempts before O, stopped day of O, and did O+18. Lots of praying!!!!!

I'm also wondering which OPK would be most helpful to gauge O day. Are there any that are better for that nowadays? Or suggested method since I haven't been charting?

cranberry and vitex have not worked and we've all but given up on them.

RepHresh has not worked either and it's really cut odds of conception. Since you're only going to try 2 cycles I would skip that as well.

We have found that one attempt is really working well for sways. So I'd have you, instead of doing several attempts, to have just one at positive OPK (O-1) for best odds of conception. You could, if you prefer, have sex every 4 days (Monday/Thursday pattern) but I trust the one attempt at positive OPK more. Since you're doing just one attempt again I'd urge you to drop RepHresh and anything along those lines that may cut odds of conception and give it at least 5 min. before J and D.

Do you think it's still worth it to be on a LE style diet? Not eating breakfast until 11amish and in general low calorie? I am doing little to no meat. Just wasn't sure what is recommended now for diet.

Makes sense. Should my husband abstain for a certain period of time before this?

Yes I still recommend LE Diet. It is designed not only for swaying but also to be enough food and nutrients to ensure that you have enough to continue ovulating and conceive. :)

Just wanted to update this post that we were able to conceive with one try on the first cycle soon after I posted this. I am now 8 weeks. We are going to wait to find out the sex of the baby this time. :) Will be a long wait, but our first surprise baby and I'm looking forward to it. I will update when we know! So far I am definitely averse to meat and craving carbs, sweets, and fresh foods like I was with my daughter and also nauseous like I was with her (with my boys I wanted meat and heavy foods--no sweets, and not really any sickness)...but who knows if that means anything! I may ask about this here later if I get curious. :)

Thanks again, Atomic!! Praying for a sticky baby now!
