Ugh, I’m having a hard time since our scan last week. We found out we are having our third boy. Husband and I were excited, went out to lunch after and talked about names and getting bunk beds for our older boys. All was well, until we started telling people. It sucks so much to tell people what you’re having and just get sympathy. There’s no congratulations anymore, just people pitying you because you’re having another boy. And everyone asking if you’ll try again for a girl. In fact, my father in law’s immediate response was to tell us we should try again for a girl (which surprised me because I didn’t think he cared). Anyways, thanks for letting me vent, it’s been making me sad and not as excited about this pregnancy.

i'm sorry thats happening I experienced it with boy 3 and 4 it is difficult to not slap people! I always said that as much as i want a girl if i lived in a bubble with no stupid comments on my family make up i would have coped better with being an all boy mum. hugs xx

Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on much lately I guess i was trying to mentally prepare myself for some gender disappointment just incase, I ended up paying for a 18 week 1 day scan yesterday to find out gender because i just can't do team green and I did a post in the ultrasound forum :) if any of you wanted to pop over and have a looksy, I did do one back when i was 12 weeks 4 days previously for nub theory also.

my 12 week scan: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/63148-12-week-6-day-scan-any-gender-guesses.html

18 week: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/63537-18-week-gender-scan-update-previous-post-12-week-4-days-scan.html

My cervix measured 3.8 cm long, and both sacs have plenty of amniotic fluid. They both had their eyes open, and Chloe measured 1 lb 6 oz, and Clarissa measured 1lb 3 oz.

I’m getting so annoyed. I emailed my doctor saying I need to stop the progesterone shots due to their high cost. He’s out of town for soring break so someone else is filling in. They called the financial assistance department without speaking to me first. The financial counselor was obnoxious as could be. She told me we needed to apply for assistance plus Medicaid, not stop the shots. She just couldn’t get it through her thick head no matter how many times I repeated it that we fall quite a bit outside their income guidelines and do not qualify for any assistance. She kept telling me to apply anyway, continue the shots, and wait 45 days for them to approve or deny assistance. Well, the shot costs $300 each after insurance pays. I told her I am not racking up thousands of dollars in bills waiting for the denial letter for something that is not an absolute need. Now I have to sit and argue at my appointment tomorrow with whomever is filling in that I will not be receiving anymore shots while they act obnoxious about it. There isn’t even any scientific evidence showing it benefits those delivering after 34 weeks in the first place. I’m tempted to skip my appointment altogether just to avoid the whole situation altogether, except it’s the second half of my anatomy scan and that’s important. I told my husband I wanted him to come with to back me up if they get huffy about it, but he’s expecting to be too busy.

BunnyGirl19

I’m 19 weeks now. The progesterone is because I have my babies early (35 week range) due to having a blood clotting disorder. My appointment went well and I was able to decline the progesterone without any resistance, fortunately.

Bbb my round ligament pain usually comes and goes and is dependent on what activity I’m doing. Rolling over, getting out of bed, getting up too quickly all seem to do it. But it’s never constant. Did they do a scan to check your appendix? CT scans are most affective but aren’t recommended during pregnancy.

No they only did a scan to check baby and my fibroid. The pain goes away when I lie down but comes back as soon as I get up. He said that in pregnancy the appendix is higher up and my pain is pretty low down

Hi BunnyGirl19,
Its good to hear you didn't have any more pushiness or hiccups with your decision :)

I spoke with a very good midwife recently about this after i seen your other post and she advised me to point you to the Home | Cochrane Library (http://www.cochranelibrary.com/) and this article: Prenatal administration of progestogens for preventing spontaneous preterm birth in women with a multiple pregnancy - Dodd - 2017 - The Cochrane Library - Wiley Online Library (http://cochranelibrary-wiley.com/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD012024.pub2/full)

this website is very helpful for a number of things especially when discussing stuff with ob's and the like, I will be using a bit of research to take with me to an appointment of mine with regards to pph and gdm when requesting to water birth again in a birth centre attached to the hospital, research always helps with everything i find especially when you feel you are being persuaded into a situation when it needs to be informed consent :)

Hello ladies I havent been on here for a while. I had big ultrasound and confirmed that I am indeed having a baby boy. I couldn't be more happier than this. I been feeling great hardly feel pregnant. Besides feeling baby moving. Cant believe we all are this far in our pregnancies. Seems like time is going really fast. Dont you all remember when we first got our bfps and felt terrible at the very beginning with nausea and what not. How is everyone feeling now? I can’t do birth control because of my clotting disorder. My only option other than condoms and NFP is Paragard and that failed on me, aside from having bad side effects. I got pregnant with my twins while on it. I was swaying in preparation of having it removed and TTC further down the road though. LOL

You got pregnant on Paragard? That’s terrifying, lol. I had one and liked it but the heavy periods were super annoying. I’ll probably go on the pill after this baby and DH is considering a vasectomy. If I needed a C section for some reason I would consider getting my tubes tied. I don’t want more than 3 children but it’s still hard to decide to do something permanent.

I had sciatic nerve my whole first pregnancy and it was painful and horrible I know how you feel, unfortunately my doctor didn't prescribe me anything that was 9 almost 10 years ago now though, I would think massages may help or some acupressure/ acupuncture and or seeing a physio who specialise in pregnant women also :)

Grace, so exciting about your nursery! I’m just so tired lately it’s like first trimester all over again all I want to do is sleep! I check every 2-3 days just have been quiet and not posted in awhile! I too cannot wait until the end of June it’s so reassuring now that she moves all the time now! Miss you all! Will start posting a little more! The back pain is awful by the end of the day, but I won’t complain just happy there is a healthy little beauty growing inside of me. I go the 19th of April to do glucose test, officially schedule csection date, second part of ultrasound, and sign paper for tubal.

Mommy2apples, I’m So tired lately too. I’m looking forward to starting my maternity leave so I can get everything done I need to get done before the girls come! It’s lookimg like I’ll start my leave a little early since it’s twins and my guy is an OB gyn. He talked to my OB and they agreed to put me off work at 28 weeks. After all the work and money to get these girls conceived and to their point, he doesn’t want to take any chances. I feel a bit spoiled lol. But they might come early so it’ll give me time to get everything ready. My back hurts by the end of the day too, but my biggest complaint has been the rib pain. It’s intense! I do completely feel they’ll be worth it. Although when my guy says he really hopes I make it to 38 weeks, I glare at him. I’m thinking I don’t think I want the go past 37 weeks when they’re full term. The rib pain is awful! I’m doing my glucose test this Saturday morning. I’m sure I’ll fail it. That’s so exciting that you’ll get your actual C/S date!!!! We’re getting so close!!!!

Hi Everyone! Exciting to see all the updates! I just had a 3D ultrasound this past weekend and we are having a GIRL! We are thrilled! So far my pregnancy has been okay... and since I am now in my 16th week, I am feeling better, less headaches and evening nausea, and less tiredness. We will see how long the feeling good last. Just praying it does, and that this baby remains healthy!

Someone was asking about birth control. I think I am going to do the Mirena, that will give us 5 years to decide if we are done, and if we are my husband will go and get a vasectomy. I have heard that after the initial adjustment to Mirena you periods become almost non-existent, which will be nice.

Someone else had mentions Sciatica pain. I had this terribly with my first pregnancy. There are stretches you can do to ease the pain. Luckily we have a sleep number bed and I was able to adjust my side to softer and that made all the difference. Maybe you could add a pillow-top or something to make it more cushier.

Now on to picking out how we will decorate the nursery! I am thinking vintage florals...

Hi Ladies, I read the posts every day but don't always comment. Feel as though I might just be complaining. :drama:
I am 24 weeks today with my twins. I am struggling with heartburn! I have no appetite and I have a lot of discharge! Sorry TMI! Not sure if this is all normal. I have some dizzy spells, but I assume it's from my low blood sugar. Everyone at work keeps telling me I am very pale.
I also have the sciatic pain, the rib pain (it knocks the breath out of me sometimes!) and the cramping of legs and feet. My feet keep swelling and I had to take off my wedding ring cause it doesn't fit anymore. I have not started with the nursery yet. :worry:
My next appointment is on 11th April.

So happy to hear everyone is doing well. I just feel so uncomfortable and sore! And so very emotional!!! :tissue:

Hi TwinMum2,
Your not complaining at all lovely :) that's what we are all here for to help support each other and share in the news.
Have you tried acupressure or acupuncture at all? this can help alot with sciatic nerve amongst other pains.

With your heartburn have you tried tums? i used that a lot with my first bubba.

Hiya again Ladies,
So just got back from my 20 week morphology scan unfortunately no potty pics the sonographer was training a newbie so whilst there was lots of shots they were mostly of the heart and that sort of thing, I did ask to find out gender and he asked the trainee and she said boy and then he said really and had a look for himself and said no GIRL!!
I did ask him if i could have a potty shot of that and he said oh no I didn't take that pic you'll just have to trust me on that one lols.

So alas I know I'll have to pay for another scan to get the double confirmation I want so annoying, I'll have to get another referral for that. Oh well you get that lmao

I did a cute face shot though

MeganB, huge congratulations on your baby girl!!! Have fun picking out stuff for your vintage floral nursery! How fun!!!

Mommy2apples, I believe I have 2.5 weeks left before starting maternity leave.

DreamingRainbow, I think as we start getting further along and closer to delivery, our thread will probably pick up pace more again.

Ladies so nice to see u back! I wondering if this page had gone dead. I'm 22w today and still waiting for tiredness to lift ! It has a little this past fortnight but still waiting for my 2nd trimester mojo!
We had anomaly scan last week and all is well with baby- perfectly average which is music to my ears. 2 more weeks and I've reached viability stage!
Poor u guys suffering with back pain and rib pain. My biggest complaint at the mo is heartburn- ugh!

Dreaming! Yay for your sweet little one being healthy! That’s the best news ever! Did you give in to seeing gender of baby yet or waiting until birth! I’m so excited for all of us! It’s such a relief reaching viability, not long now at all! I’m so excited for our rainbow babies!! I miss you all too! Yes the heartburn! Lol I hope she has a head full of hair!!Hi mommy2apples! In starting to believe this might actually happen! I'm loving all the kicks and rolls I'm feeling !
Nope we still havent opened the envelope. And we asked not to be told at 21w scan. I did suggest we get a potty shot but dh refused. He said either we find out officially or we don't. He doesn't understand why I spend my time guessing gender and reading up on old wives tales etc.
How's the shopping for your little girl going?

Ellirosanne- 2.5 weeks left Eek! How's the rib pain etc?

We are pretty much done with shopping. Just picking a few things up now and then. I have her clothes up to 3-6 months. Then mil is having a baby shower I’ll be like 36 weeks. So I’m sure we will more than likely get plenty of blankets, that’s the main thing you get at baby showers I think.. have you been shopping? 39202

Pink in the stars, I hope your GDM test comes back well! That drink is truly awful! Great face shots! Your baby girl is precious!

Twinmom2, don't worry! You're not complaining! I think all your miserable discomforts are normal for twin pregnancy. I feel exactly the same way with mine. I'm taking Pepcid once to twice a day and that's really helping with the heartburn, although I haven't found anything to help with this intense rib pain though. I have a lot of discharge too, so much that I'm starting to wear panty liners!

Pinkcomestrue, I'm not due for about 12 more weeks, EEK! It seems so close yet so far away both at the same time!

Dreamingrainbow, Oh gosh, the rib pain is truly awful sometimes

Well, I failed my 3rd trimester 1 hour glucose test yesterday, (no surprise there) so now I will have to do the 3 hour fasting glucose test again. It’ll be a couple weeks before I can leave my toddler home with Dad to go do it so I’ll just have to eat sensibly in the mean time.

I have another glucose test coming up soon. I’d prefer to avoid it if it were possible. I’ve passed the other ones so far, but as pregnancy progresses my numbers get worse until I eventually fail. I’m guessing I’ll end up on insulin in my third trimester, which is typical for me. It’s not a big deal and I don’t mind the insulin at all, I just hate all the glucose tests I have to do in the meantime. LOL

Mommy2apples, best of luck for your test the 19th!

Pinkinthestars, thank you!

Bunnygirl, I agree, the tests are horrible. And I remember how awful and mean the diabetes nurses were my last pregnancy. They’d check in with me twice a week to go over my meals and glucose testing results, and by the time I got off the phone I’d feel so discouraged and spanked. I’d get off the phone crying....and I was so worried they’d label me non-compliant in my chart, (since I see their notes in other pgs directly in post partum).

Hey everyone!

Trying to get caught up on the thread to see how everyone has been doing. It's been a BUSY 3 weeks with travel and deadlines but all is well and baby girl is growing and moving a LOT! I love all the updated baby bump and nursery pics!! I haven't really done anything baby related and I'm 26 weeks now (well I did get the travel system and swing set recently and would pick up clothes every now and again). I'm looking forward to having a shower in June since I will be starting completely over with this one.

11 weeks to go!!! Time is moving fast and I have so much to do!! :nails:

Mommy - you look beautiful!!! I am with you as far as the extra pains this time around. I was 26 with my last pregnancy so this is so much harder on me (10 years later!). I am going to look for a chiropractor. I heard they help with pelvic pain and sometimes it can be difficult to walk because of it.

I’m trying to find the perfect pregnancy support belly band. I’ve tried two different kinds so far, and one just rolled down under my sagging belly by like folding in half and one was way too cumbersome and uncomfortable. I just ordered one to try that is different from the other two, so I’m hoping it gives my old sagging belly some much needed support! Otherwise when I go in labor they’ll need two wheelchairs! One for me and one for my sagging belly! Lol

Oh Ellirosanne! I hope you find one! I’ve thought about one, but are they hot? That’s what I’m worried about.

I thought about getting one too, especially to help with the swelling I'm experiencing. They just look so uncomfortable. I hope the last one you ordered work. I will probably try some support hose -which sounds equally uncomfortable and hot.

My new pregnancy belt is shaped better to accommodate my sagging belly, the only drawback is it’s not very stretchy and relies on the Velcro meting manually tightened instead of elasticity. But it does support the weight of my belly better without being as cumbersome or collapsing in half to end up just folding underneath it. So in other words, it’s better for my situation, but still not perfect

Mommy2apples, I’m feeling huge! I’ll be thinking of you doing your test Thursday! Mine will be Saturday. I have my growth scan and cervical length check Friday and my 28 week OB apt thursday

Aww Ellirosanne, wonder if you could find someone that could suggest a good one for you?

Aww you aren’t huge! I always think you look lovely when you post your bump pictures!

My appointment Thursday will consist of scheduling of my csection, glucose test, second part of my anatomy scan, signing paper for my tubal, and having them write a note for jury duty as the courts want me to do it may- August and that’s not possible. Lol will be praying you pass your glucose test! It’s always exciting to see them
On the screen though!

Good morning Ladies,

Mommy2apples - you look gorgeous! Such a beautiful pregnant lady. :-)

Ellisrosanne - I am also struggling to find a belt that is comfortable enough to support my belly. I have the normal belly band but like you said, it rolls up and is so annoying when you have to adjust it every time you stand up or move around.
Everyone keeps telling me that I am carrying small for twins, but doctor said they are measuring the same as a singleton baby. Twin A is 818g and Twin B 714g. As long as the difference in their weight is less than 200g, I should be okay.

My other concern is that I haven't done a glucose test. I have actually never done a glucose test. I live in South Africa so not sure if it's not a common thing here. My gynea also wont give me a C-section date earlier and scheduled it for my due date, 19th July. She said that it's a given that these babies will come early so there is no point in scheduling an earlier date. We will try and keep them in for as long as possible.
The tiredness is really catching up to me. I fall asleep behind my desk while at work. My next appointment is only at 29 weeks - not sure if I will be put on bedrest or if I should just go on early maternity leave, but also don't want to waste my maternity leave.

Mommy2apples
April 17th, 2018, 08:16 AM
Thanks TwinMom2! That’s frustrating she won’t schedule you a csection date, especially with your twins! Seems the US is always quick to jump on things. I wish I could opt out of the glucose test, it makes me edgy waiting on the results. I guess I should just going in there thinking there’s only two option, fail or pass, but if I fail I have to do the three hour test and I’m not looking forward to that either, so really just praying I pass the 1 hour test so it can be done and over with!

Mommy2apples, thank you! Oh my gosh, what an exciting apt coming up Thursday! Can’t wait to read your update afterwards and find out all how it goes! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you pass your test!!!

Twinmom2, I have an apt hursday with my OB, and I think she’ll be putting me on maternity leave. Luckily in the state of California, we’re legally allowed up to 17 weeks pregnancy disability that doesn’t affect our maternity leave after delivery. ThanknGod!

Mommy2apples omg her little face !! So cute!
Your pregnancy pic is fab!- u look beautiful and glowing!

Ellirosanne and others looking for belly bands- do they help support the weight of baby? I had consultant app today and I mentioned that in past 2 days I am having pain at bottom of tummy when I walk. Consultant said its just ligaments stretching and nothing to worry about. I'm wondering if a belly band will help?

On a positive note, I have reached a major milestone for me - 24 weeks woohoo!! I have reached viability stage. So Happy! Plus at scan today baby is measuring right on target. Happiness is ...!

How did you get on with your glucose test mommy? It's strange that u auto test for it in the states. Here, I've read that unless you are overweight or history of it, they don't test as standard.

Dreaming! That ligament pain hurts! I get it too in the bottom of my tummy. Thank you! I fell in love with her. Was shocked at her chunky cheeks this early at 29 weeks!
I’ll get the results tomorrow. Yes they make it mandatory here. I had to take the glucose test earlier in my pregnancy as well as I had it with my last baby. I passed it with a 40 earlier. Hoping I’ll pass it this time too as I really don’t want to deal with it this time. I’ve cut pop and only have sweets on occasion now so hoping that was enough. Just really really praying it was/is!

Mommy2apples, oh! She’s so precious! That little face! Fingers so crossed for you for your GDM test!

DreamingRainbow, That’s exactly what they do. I’ll bet it would definitely help you with those round ligament pains! I get those too, and they’re awful. Isn’t it such a huge relief to reach viability! Woohoo!!!! I’ll bet they miss a lot of GDM cases, because I’m healthy and not overweight and I have had it with 2, maybe three of my pregnancies now.

Well, I had my OB apt today and it all looked good. She went ahead and put me off of work since I work 8 hours on my feet and have hit the 28 week mark with twins. :) I have my growth scan tomorrow and they’ll check my cervical length. I was going to do the 3 hour test on Saturday, but since I have child care already paid for Monday, I’ll do it Monday instead so I can do family time this weekend.

Thanks Grace! I had it with my fourth baby, so if I do this time. I’m trying to look at the positive of it, but still hoping I pass the three hour test. If I do have it, I can at least shed the pounds easier after o have her since I’ll be on a stricter diet anyways. So that’s a plus and maybe the baby will be smaller again like braxt he was my smallest baby. So that’s some hopeful pluses. Not going too look at it as a negative as If they do diagnose me with it’ll only be for 8ish weeks.

I hope you passed!

Hi girls. I always read our group thread but rarely post. I even hesitated to post now since I haven’t been active and nobody “knows” me. Last week, at 27 weeks, my water broke. Everything besides having low fluid still looks ok. Baby girl is tolerating the low fluid and there’s no signs of labor so I have to stay in the hospital until she’s born, our goal is 34 weeks, this will be a long journey! Does anyone have experience with this happening?

Well, I’ll be starting on insulin next week, just as I anticipated. I just need to email my levels in on Monday so they can give me a starting dose. I had a fetal evhocardiogram to check for heart defects Friday morning since one of my kids has genetic defects. Everything they could see was fine, so no need for special delivery plans. She’ll have another echo done after she’s born to check for things they can’t check for right now. I then had another growth scan that afternoon. Everything looks good, but she’s looking to be a little one. She measured between 6-10 days behind on all her measurements, which is a little more than she had been behind on previous scans, which was 2-6 days before. My doctor is not concerned at this time as she’s at the 25th percentile.

HI Gwynne, sorry that has happened prayers for you and your baby girl sounds like they have you in the right place and are looking after you and her. I don't see my OB until next week but haven't had a phone call about my glucose fasting test to say I need to do anything else so thats good . I do wish that my daughter at 27 weeks would turn head down permanently most of the time she is kicking my cervix and the boys x4 never did that! cheeky girl :)

She said it was alright I was measuring that far ahead. I’ve only heard of 2 weeks behind and 2 weeks ahead. Lol I probably do have that gd. If I do I do...

Mommy2apples, I got my glucometer last night and got it all set up and started monitoring my blood sugars this morning. I downloaded an app to keep track of what I eat and what my blood levels are. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed for you that you don’t have it! I think honestly, weirdly enough, the hardest part of having it last time was feeling like I was a failure and in trouble at the principles office every check in with the perinatal nurses to review all my data. They made me feel like a horrible mother

How are you doing so far Ellirosanne? I really hope you can just control it with diet This time. I’m sorry they treated you like that! They should have more respect for pregnant mothers as it’s not hard enough being pregnant.

They still haven’t called me to let me know my results. My normal nurse isn’t there today. [emoji849] I’ve called twice to try and get the results. They keep leaving messages with the on call nurse. So annoyed. I just want to know yes or no.

Gwynn omg !! Tg you're baby girl is tolerating the low fluid. Gosh the next 7 weeks will be a long journey. Can the fluid replenish its self? Wishing u all the best.

Ellirosanne no! I'm sorry u have to monitor your blood sugars etc. It must be such a hassle !!
How are u getting on mommy2apples?

Last night my eldest (4) jumped down on my bump with her knee. Total accident bit really hurt. Was advised by hosp to go in due to my blood type. We were there till after 1am. Took blood and found hb on Doppler. Back here now for the painful anti d injection and hopefully a scan although I'm feeling movement which reassures me. Has this happened anyone else ? I'm not precious and have received bumps and knocks from my other 2 but this one really hurt and I still feel tender from it!

On the plus side - happy Saturday ladies ! Xx

A doctor other than my own (mine was rounding at the hospital) prescribed my insulin doses too high to start with and I’ve been fighting lows in the 50s and 60s. I cut my doses in half and am now averaging 90. I’ll be speaking to my doctor on Monday to see what he wants me to do. I’m already eating low carb, rare grains so diet isn’t my issue.

Mommy2apples, I’ve noticed my blood sugar reacts differently to the same exact thing at different times if the day. I’m most sensitive to glucose in the mornings, but my body handles it much better by dinner. My morning after breakfast glucose levels are high no matter what I eat or how small the portion it seems

Bunnygirl, I had that exact same problem my last pregnancy while we were tweaking the doses to figure out what worked best for me. I actually came pretty close to passing out from too low of a blood sugar in more than one occasion and had to eat rescue carbs. It was scary when I’d be driving and had to pull over to eat some rescue carbs.

That is scary Ellirosanne! They’ll probably say mine are too low when I go Friday.
Fasting was 85
Breakfast was 86
I had a piece of whole grain toast, tsp natural pb, a smoothie that had milk, raspberries, blueberries, and spinach in it, water

Snack: raisins, and water
Lunch was 68
Two pieces of whole grain bread, 3 egg whites, tsp of miracle whip, cucumber slices, and an orange, bottle of water

Snack: raisins, cup of milk, and bottle of water

Except for your lunch level, I’d say yours are good. My doctor wants me between 80-100 ideally. Below 70 is too low and over 120 is too high.

I emailed my doctor today and he wants me at the dosing I had reduced myself to and will reevaluate at my appointment on Friday. I know my doses will need to be adjusted several times before I deliver, but I think my dose is good for right now.

Mommy2apples, actually those are good, they want fasting under 90 and 1 hour after meals under 130. I just got off the phone with my perinatal nurse to go from my weeks results. She told me that I either have to set my alarm for midnight to have a midnight snack or set my alarm for 6 AM to eat an early breakfast to get my fasting a little lower. Sounds counterintuitive but if my body goes to long without food it releases its own glucose and makes my blood sugar go to high. I’m not allowed to have any cereal the rest of my pregnancy, no milk or fruit for my late night snack or breakfast. I’m not allowed to have peanut butter and less it’s sugarfree. Argh. I just say OK, and do my best. Some of it’s kind of unrealistic for my life. I’m not going to let it drive me to tears like it did my last Pregnancy where I started not eating enough and losing weight because I didn’t like all the dietary restrictions and ended up being induced early because I was basically starving. 68 is probably a little low after lunch.

NACIREMADREAM, good to hear from you! Glad your computer is back up and running! Congratulations on your baby boy!!!

Morning all, the baby bumps looks so cute!
So I had my appointment with my doc on Monday and she told me that I need to be at home, which is a bummer because I only have a temp starting today that I need to train for a week. I am 29 weeks and the girls weigh 1.4kg each (think 3.08pounds), so measuring about 2 weeks in advance. She said she wants to perhaps take them out at 32 weeks when they weigh 2kg each as they are running out of space and the one is head down and the other traverse.

32 weeks seems a little bit early to me. Can anyone give me some advice on this?

Ellisrosanne, how much did your little ones weigh at 29 weeks?

Ellirosanne
May 10th, 2018, 02:18 PM
Mommy2apples, maybe not ten times lol. I also get this weird sensation when I try to lay down to sleep of pressure/pinching like behind my clitoris which kind of makes me feel like I have to pee too. And when I stand up I feel pressure on my butt, like I just had a huge bowel movement that made my rectum sore, however I didn’t. Probably TMI, but I’ve never felt these sensations before so not sure what to call them or if they even mean anything.

Twinmom2, why on earth would he want to take them at 32 weeks due to running out of room! I’ve never heard of that before! That’s crazy! Honestly, I would want a more reasonable medical explanation before I’d have my babies taken out so early! Our bodies are amazingly capable of stretching to accommodate our babies, and if in fact we were to “run out of room” we would go into labor spontaneously! The goal is to keep them in as long as possible! That just does not make any sense to me! Is there another reason maybe? Maybe he isn’t being clear? At 28 weeks mine were 2 lbs 3 oz and 2 lbs 6 oz. I really hope you’re able to carry your babies longer! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and your twins! :)

I had my twins right at 32 weeks for medical reasons including a large growth discordance. Baby A was 4 lb 1 oz and baby B was 2 lb 15 oz.

:agree: I have also seen twins taken early when they saw something going on with the placenta(s) that they didn't like.

Do absolutely get a second opinion Twinmom but sometimes I think doctors talk down to us and say things that they think are "good enough" and so it sounds like they're spouting nonsense/platitudes when they're really thinking they are sparing us the mumbo jumbo. Little do they know that we are all out here most of us sitting on darn near as much medical knowledge as they have and we want to know all the terminology so we can run it past our chicas online! :)

I don’t know what you would call it either Ellirosanne, but I think it’s due to two babies in there. I get the peeing sensation when I stand up all of a sudden. Lol it really stinks, but not the text I’m one I bet it’s because there is two sweet little girls!

MlKA, aww a great size for your baby! thank you, the key really is a lot of water. I drink 12 glasses a day. They recommend at least 8 cups a day for at least a week. Hydration really is the key for a good ultrasound like that .

Hi ladies- update on me, my water had broke at 27 weeks, then I went into labor at 29 weeks. Baby girl is doing good though, she’s off breathing support, working on getting out of the incubator, then will work on feeding (currently on a feeding tube).

TwinMom- Any updates? If they take yours at 32 weeks, get in touch with me for preemie support, it’s a rollercoaster.

Love seeing the bump pics, you gals are all looking so great!!

I wonder how accurate these weight estimates are. So far my little one is in the 60th percentile but I have another scan in 3 weeks so it would be interesting to see if it's the same.

Hope you ladies are feeling well today.

Mommy2apples your scan pic is fab!! She's such a beauty! And wow- what a beautiful gift your friend made. She is very talented.

Ellirosanne I cannot believe how neat you are for that gestation with 2 in there ! You're a total advertisement for twin pregnancy!

Gwynn (I hope I got the name right) wowsers, born at 29 weeks ! I'm so happy to hear she is thriving and hope you are doing well. I can only imagine the stress!

All is well here thank god! I'm 29w now and had a 3d/4d scan today. This is my favourite scan during pregnancy as I get to really see baby's face. Baby looks like my other 2 but more so my eldest. I'm going to root out their 3d pics and compare. So in love and so excited to meet this baba!

My five year old is so excited for his baby sister, everyday he would get up and ask, are you having her tomorrow? So I decided to make him a little calendar so he can mark off the days. He’s loving it. Every morning he says let’s mark off the day and loves to count the days until she’s here. I just think it’s so cute that he’s so excited. The others are excited, but I believe out of the four of them he’s the most anxious to meet his baby sister.
