Woohoo! Ok, this is totally TMI, but I have a horrible cough, and I'm coughing so hard, I feel pressure down below when I cough. I run to the bathroom to check afterward each time, and there's nothing, although I do feel a little bit of uterine prolapse that I push back in. It's making me soooo nervous! I follow a group of twin mommys on facebook and one unexpectedly woke up Sunday delivering her twin A prematurly, and is trying to keep twin B in. It made me so nervous. I didn't feel right asking for details, like did she have any warning symptoms. I can't wait to be past this scary part where they wouldn't be viable yet.

I was i. A twin group when I was pregnant with my twins. So nany scary, uncommon things happened to some of the women in there. I ended up leaving the group because it would just stress me out and make me worry.

Ellirosanne I think with twins you just have to take each week, and be happy you’ve made it another week with healthy babies. And stay away from online forums if they make you too worried/anxious. Thinking of you, carrying twins has to be hard mentally and physically [emoji171]

How is everyone feeling? I was 14 weeks Wednesday and I’m still waiting for that second trimester energy boost you’re supposed to get, I’m still so tired and nauseous on and off. Ughh. I feel like a crap mom, too. We have loads of snow and I’m too tired to bundle my boys up and take them places. So we are at home most days, and I feel bad. Spring can’t come soon enough!

Greydore, I feel like I’m the same way in winter. It’s always such a huge relief when spring finally arrives! My whole mood and energy level lifts and I throw open all the windows and go out doors. I’m tired too, but I think it’s vecause I’m fighting a cough/ infection. I started antibiotics today so hopefully I’ll start feeling better over the weekend.

Ladies, I feel so awful. My cough is so bad, and it hurts to cough. My Athsma kept me up all night last night. I finally went to the dr today and he put me in a steroid inhaler to use twice daily and an antibiotic. Gosh I hope it kicks in soon!

Aww Ellirosanne! It’s the best feeling in the world to feel them move! I couldn’t imagine two moving! Think when they get stronger it’s going to be so strong! It just makes you smile doesn’t it?!?!

After 3 1/2 years ttc with secondary infertility due to diminished ovarian reserve, I can hardly believe that I am pregnant!! Greydore my boobs are so sore!! Didn’t have that with my son! And feel abit dizzy but eating more helps! It’s hard getting used to eating more after being on the LE for 6 months!

Hello all!

I hope everyone is doing well this winter. I found out as I was pregnant on 1/1/18, swayed girl. I wanted to wait until after my first appointment before I posted on here though, since I had a miscarriage this past October. But I had my first appointment on 1/29/18 and everything seems good! Baby was measuring at 7 weeks 5 days, according to my LMP I should have been at 8 weeks 2 days, so not too far off! And the heart rate was 170. Previously when I went for my last pregnancy the baby was only measuring at 6 weeks, when it should have been 8 weeks. I have a scheduled c-section on 9/5/18.

So I am back! Hopeful for a girl, but even more hopeful for a wonderfully healthy baby! I look forward to going through this pregnancy with you all!

Hello everyone today I feel that I am getting my energy back slowly. I been feeling horrible. Nausea all day, tired and sluggish. Luckily this is our last baby can't imagine doing this all over again. Next month is my other ultrasound the big day that will determine if the nub theory was right. The tech was so confident that she knew what it was and pointing it out several times in which of course I was in denial and complete shock. So we shall see what they say next month.

My nausea has also made a come back this week - I thought I was done with that. I'm also having heartburn already so I'm trying to watch my diet. I started exercising (mostly walking/ pilates) again last week since I have more energy. I hope that can last for awhile. I already put on 10 pounds at 18 weeks lol!

Mlka if it makes you feel any better, I gained 13 lbs at 9 weeks [emoji23] at 13 weeks I hadn’t gained any more, so I’m hoping it slows down. I’ve never gained that much weight in the first trimester!

Lol! I had a doctor appointment and they checked my weight. I definitely DON'T get on the scale myself lol! My last pregnancies were in my 20s so this is definitely new to me. But it's all worth it :-)

Mommy hope you feel better :/ my nausea seems to be getting better but now the heartburn has started- pregnancy truly is one thing after another.

A funny thing I’ve noticed is that if I exert myself too much- like lots of cleaning with no break, I get light headed and nauseous. It’s a good excuse to put off the cleaning, haha 🤷🏼*♀️

I'm getting rotten heartburn the blast week or so and I'm only 15 weeks! Plus I'm still waiting for the tiredness to lift.
But we had another scan today and baby is doing well thank god ! Finding it tough lately with worry and anxiety flaring up again.

Ugh yes dreaming the heartburn is the worse!! How often do they give you the scans? So glad little baby is doing great!! I know you are getting anxiety. Put baby in the lord’s hands and he will protect your sweet little baby. I put Emmalyn in his hands and she is doing wonderful! Can’t wait until you feel little one really well, that gives me peace of mind!

To all having heartburn- Zantac is a lifesaver! You can take it twice a day and it’s safe throughput pregnancy.

Mommy2apples I am scanned every fortnight and from 20 weeks (I think) I will also have another scan (can't remember name) but it assesses the blood flow in and out of the placenta.
Gosh i wish I could put my faith in anything to give me comfort.
Looking forward to feeling baby move properly 🤞

Ellirosanne you're blessed to not have heartburn yet especially with twins!

I was pretty good after harmony test at 10w but this week is awful. I suppose as I'm coming up to when Leo's gestation when he died, it's to be expected. My next scan I'll be 17+2 & was 17+3 at routine app when given the devastating news.

I’ve been putting off doing my one-hour glucose test for the last three weeks, but I finally went and did it yesterday. I was surprised I passed and even more surprised that my number came back at 103. If I’ve passed my early one-hour test, I’ve just barely squeaked under 130 to pass by a couple points and then failed miserably when I’ve done my second one-hour glucose test.

Hi ladies - hope everyone is feeling well today!
Between my older daughter having the flu and trying to get my little all-star cheerleader to all her choreography and tumbling sessions I've been a bit overwhelmed the past few days. But last Thursday I had such a great anatomy scan!! Baby girl was so cooperative during the whole 40 minute session. She was such a good baby. With my other 3 (including my angel baby) I had challenging scans and the babies would either be very active or very stubborn lol. But this little one was so easy - I'm hoping this will be my less dramatic daughter lol.
But everything looked good - she's healthy and they said she's about 11oz and measuring 5 days ahead (which is great since she will be coming 3 wks early). I couldn't stop the happy tears from flowing.
I'm 19 weeks 4 days and feel her moving a lot now so that eases my anxiety.
I'll see if I can attach some pics.

Greydore - thanks SO much! I definitely started feeling better and had more energy after 14 weeks so I hope you are as well. I also started wanting coffee again around that time. I couldn't stomach it in my 1st trimester.

Is anyone having problems sleeping? Between the vivid dreams, tossing and turning, and the constant bathroom breaks I'm just not sleeping well these days. And she seems to be up at night jumping around. I can't complain though - I'm loving feeling her move around so much!!

Bbb I’ve had headaches! But they’re very sporadic. I’m happy they aren’t every day, but they’re bad when they do happen. I take two extra strength Tylenol when I get them.

So far sleeping is going ok, but I’ve never had problems sleeping pregnant. The dreams are crazy though!!

My anatomy scan is a week from tomorrow, I’m beyond excited!

So the last couple days I've worked I've had like abdominal, lower back and thigh achiness. Then today, I have crampiness that wraps around my lower back and aching in my thighs. I took my lunch break and it felt much better while I was sitting. I think it's the constantly being on my feet doing it. I don't want to make a big deal if I'm just over reacting, and being a pansy. It's making me kind of nervous though. My cervix was long and closed on my ultrasound scan Friday, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. I don't know if I'm just super focused on my uterus, and maybe imagining cramps that are just from the babies growing or what. I don't think it's contractions though, it's like just menstrual cramping. It goes away when I sit down for a bit though. Last night when I got home my legs and back were so sore

I would imagine being on your feet all day puts a lot of pressure on your muscles and ligaments and having two in there is added weight. Would it be possible for u to divide up some work time to include sitting?

Bbb I'm getting a lot of headaches this pregnancy. I don't remember them in other pregnancies. They're awful and can last for days at a time. I drink loads of water daily so I'm putting it down to stress/ tension.

Lol I wish my scan was tomorrow. It’s a week from today, March 6. Ellirosanne you’re probably going to be super sore and tire more easily because of the twins. My friend just had twins in January, and she got tired so quickly. She ended up hiring a nanny so she could rest whenever she wanted (obviously we don’t all have this luxury, I wish!)

So yes now you absolutely have to pace yourself. I think you said you're a nurse so I'm sure your timer sitting at a computer is so small but you need to raise this with your boss and see how you can break up your day. Otherwise you'll be signed off work sooner. Those two beauties are more important x

I'm so sad today. My appointment with consultant was cancelled today because we have a snow storm (this county cannot cope with any adverse weather!)
This appointment out of them all was so important to me, I am the same gestation now as I was at my appointment when They found my son's heart had stopped. He should be due this coming Monday. So this appointment meant a lot to me and now it cancelled. I know it's better to be safe than travelling to hospital needlessly but I'm so gutted !

I had the first half of my anatomy scan today and baby is definitely a girl, so I can stop worrying tgat the NIPT was wrong. She’s measuring 2-4 days behind on all her measurements except femur length which was one week ahead. It looks like this girl is all legs. LOL

Yes, I’ll be honest, I’ve been eating s’mores for desert each night... time to cut that out! I got home and it was gone, so it must’ve just been a weird indentation. Is anyone else on weekly progesterone injections? I just started them a few days ago. I forgot how much I hate them! I always get sore and itchy at the injection site plus extremely tired for two days afterward. I’m hoping it’s just a fluke, but I had a bad headache for the first two days afterward as well. My husband is going to get tired of me whining if these symptoms all continue for the next 20 weeks. LOL

I just had my 12 week scan yesterday. Of course the baby did not cooperate so I go back on Friday to try again. However, if baby doesn’t cooperate my doctor is going to have my blood drawn for the blood test that will tell everything, including sex! So I’m hopeful that baby decides to no cooperate so I’ll know for sure soon. That being said, my husband got very excited when they showed the potty shot because he didn’t not see what he saw for our son. He said he saw a w, not a little nub penis. I didn’t see a little penis either, but my view wasn’t as good as his. Of course they didn’t take a picture of that, but maybe on Friday!! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and it’s super exciting as people are finding out what they are having!!

I have a blood clotting disorder and all of my babies except one have been late preemies (35 week range), one at just under 38 weeks. Then my fourth was a 30-weeker. I did the PIO injections with my fifth pregnancy even though I was having twins and there is no benefit whatsoever to using progesterone in a multiples pregnancy in terms of reducing preterm labor. I get bad local reactions to them and asked to switch to vaginal suppositories, but that only helps if you have issues with a short cervix causing preterm labor, which I do not. I’m doing the shots again this time since it’s a singleton pregnancy on the chance that it may get me an extra week or two out of the pregnancy.

Thank you! I started feeling my second son around 14 weeks, this time I didn’t feel movement until 17 weeks. I found out at my ultrasound that the placenta is anterior so that’s why it took me longer to feel movement this time. You find out soon right??

DD1 had a heart rate 130-140 most of my pregnancy and everyone kept telling me she was a boy. One of my boys was always in the 160s and everyone said he was a girl. Baby’s heart rate will always be roughly double your iwn regardless of gender. Most of these Old Wives Tales are so silly!

Girls, I just found out my best friend had a mmc. This would have been her first baby. She was waiting to tell me when we met up but I kept putting it off and now I feel awful. Thing is I was waiting to tell her about me as well and now I don't know when to say that I'm pregnant when she's going through this.

Also, when I had my mmc I was at the same gestation as her and not long after a friend of ours lost her baby boy at 17 weeks. I will be 17 weeks on Thursday and it's freaking me out that history will repeat itself.

Bbb, late last year I lost a baby at almost 18w. I know how u feel. My baby was due monday just gone and I was 17+6 on monday and was 17+5 when I lost him (what are the odds!). To say the last few weeks have been horrible is an understatement. I totally get your anxiety. I've been convinced history would repeat itself (I still am!)
I'm so sorry your friend is going through this also. You can truly understand how she feels and so may be the only one to really offer her comfort. I had that with a girl who is a virtual friend I met on a miscarriage group a few years ago. She lost a baby at 15w and has been a source of strength and comfort to me these past 5 months. Others who haven't gone through it just don't get it and serve to irritate and upset me (although unintentionally)
You being pregnant again and same gestation as she should be will likely upset her but you can offer her the chance to talk to someone who truly gets it- that is priceless.

Babybeaublue, I’m so sorry your going through this mental anguish, I can totally understand. I hope times moves through quickly for you so you can get to the other side and let out a deep breath of relief! Your poor friend! What a hard position to be in, too.

Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments :). I love a lazy Saturday morning. I’m just laying around enjoying a morning of doing nothing in my pjs, lol. I’ve been on my phone window shopping online and mentally planning the nursery. I will start shopping for the babies into weeks when I reach viability.

These are what I’m thinking for the bedding and basically what I’d coordinate the nursery around. We have a white crib already from my 22 month and the girls can just share one crib. (We mostly co sleep anyways). I think I’ll paint the walls the light pink that’s in the crib sheets. I’ll take it in to color match it to paint after I purchase it. I’ve been looking at car seats too. I think I’m going to go with the Chico keyfits. They seem to be universally well loved.

Ugh, I’m having a hard time since our scan last week. We found out we are having our third boy. Husband and I were excited, went out to lunch after and talked about names and getting bunk beds for our older boys. All was well, until we started telling people. It sucks so much to tell people what you’re having and just get sympathy. There’s no congratulations anymore, just people pitying you because you’re having another boy. And everyone asking if you’ll try again for a girl. In fact, my father in law’s immediate response was to tell us we should try again for a girl (which surprised me because I didn’t think he cared). Anyways, thanks for letting me vent, it’s been making me sad and not as excited about this pregnancy.

Thank you. The sad part is is that I was excited leaving the doctor’s office, and other people’s reactions are really getting to me.

Oh my, This is exactly what gets to me when I find out. It's like when people ask what we have I sort of brace myself for the reaction/comments. I actually dread coming home with a new born because I know what I'll have to listen to which should just not be how you feel after bringing a little miracle into the world. My family are fine it's all the friends/neighbours/big mouth strangers that say stupid things. It gets me down and it shouldn't but you just can't help it. At least nowadays the first reaction I get is - you look too young to have 5 kids! :bigsmile:

Greydore, I'm so sorry that's the reaction people are having. I know that is hurtful, however well intended they are. I think it'll be fun watching your boys all playing together as they grow, and I think bunk beds and planning it all sounds fun and wonderful! I have four boys, :)

I've been having lots of cramping and more frequent braxton hicks contractions all weekend and today. It wouldn't worry me if I was just carrying one, but I'm nervous since theirs two and they say it's so different with twins. So I have an apt at four to go see my Dr and get my cervical length checked. I hate to cry wolf, but I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I ignored it and it turned out to be something I should've seen the dr for.

Greydore it's awful that people are taking away from your joy! I fully expect to get the same reaction if this turns out to be my 3rd girl. When i huat gave birth to my 2nd daughter the midwife in the delivery room announced I should "shoot for the boy next time. I was so stunned I just replied saying "can you cut the cord from this one first?!"
People say things without even thinking them through.
I know it's easier said than done but try to let it wash over u. U have a healthy baby boy on the way who will be loved and will be so excited to have 2 older brothers to play with. And vent here too of course !

I haven’t been super active on here, I’ve been so nervous I might get gender disappointment.

I did just read your post Greydore- I hate when people say stuff like that. You know it’s just them projecting on you. When we tell people we are pregnant with our third we either get “wow three, you guys are crazy” or “I bet your DH is really hoping for a boy this time”. Can’t people just be excited for a new baby?!

We haven’t even announced this pregnancy yet. We don’t want all the rude comments over how many kids we have. We raise them and fully support them ourselves and none of those people complaining live in our house so I don’t know what business it is of theirs how many kids we have.

Thank you for your concern ladies. Well, I my cervix was 3.6 cm long which is good, and closed, thank goodness. But I'm still getting the contractions consistently about 2-3 an hour. I would chalk them off to Braxton hicks, but I just never had painful Braxton hicks with my others. And the cramping in between is pretty much constant. I'll be nervous until I'm further along I think, because it's so hard to just ignore them when they come, because theyre way uncomfortable. I guess it's just maybe because my uterus is more stretched, I'm theorizing. I feel like such a whiner, and I'm totally afraid of crying wolf, or being whiny. I don't know how long do I continue to ignore this for knowing that yesterday when I went in all was well.

Don't ever worry about crying wolf- imagine if you did nothing and something went wrong? I think that's a lot worse than getting checked out even when everything is fine. Even if it's just to put your mind at ease, it means you won't be stressing out and stress isn't good for the babies, so that's a good enough reason to speak to someone!

Babybeaublue, true, good points. I’ve alwats struggled with the whole pride and I don’t need any help issue, lol. I’ll be 23 weeks Friday. Just a little more than a week and we can cross into the viable period. I’ll be so nervous and anxious until then. Once we cross that bridge, I’m sure I’ll be anxious for them to reach full maturity. Then after their born, I’m sure I’ll anxiousky worry about getting past the SIDS stage. Then after that, I’ll probably worry about injuries from car crashed and what not lol. For mommies, I don’t think the worrying ever ends

Ellirosanne it’s hard to know what to worry about and what not to, especially with twins. It’s great that your cervix was that long and closed, I would feel reassured about that. I know with my last son I had Braxton Hicks SO much. It was crazy. And he was born at 39+6.

Hi Ladies, I haven't been on here for a while but I have been reading the posts.

@Ellisrosanne, I too have been having weird cramping and my uterus have felt so uncomfortable lately. I have the cramping especially at night. I am 21 weeks with didi twin girls.
I have also struggled with swollen feet, ankles and legs. It really hurts. And the pelvic pains! OMW!!
My cervix was about 2.5 last week when I went for my scan - I don't know what it should be and when to worry - doc didn't mention that it was a bad thing. Do you know when it starts to be an issue?
Also, what is the viability stage? I have never heard of it?

I have to be honest, but carrying twins is not easy! I am waddling like a duck! I feel like a whale and I have started getting stretch marks on my breasts. :tissue:
My whole body aches!

Good luck to you and I'm glad you went to the doc for a check up. We have to take care of ourselves and our babies. I have an appointment tomorrow for a check up.

Hi Twinmom!

Viability is the gestation when babies have a chance at survival outside the womb- usually around 24 weeks. As far as cervical length, the shorter the cervix the more likely you are to go into labor. Less than 2 cm gives you I think a 20% chance of going into preterm labor. If your doctor isn’t concerned I wouldn’t worry about it.

So much props to you twin moms, I can’t imagine carrying 2!!

TwinMom2, I’ve been told they want it to be 2.5 cm or longer. The viability is the point at which if our babies were born at, they could actually survive with proper care. Yes, carrying twins is not easy, lol. I hope your apt goes well today! Keep us posted!
