My estrogen is beyond normal levels and my testosterone and progesterone are in the not able to conceive levels.

The OB Dr said "Avoid certain herbs. Some teas and beauty products will increase your estrogen levels. Examples of these are blue cohosh, licorice, vitex, hops, motherwort leaf, saw palmetto berry, rhodiola rosea root, red clover blossom, dong quai, black cohosh, lavender and tea tree oil." Because they can affect hormones in many different ways. I have only taken Vitex and Saw Palmetto.

I have been given a prescription for cream and 400mg of b6 vita. Will it still sway pink?

Is it ok to give up Vitex and Saw Palmetto and still get a girl?

Hey Purple, I would go ahead and do it....you ain't getting a girl if you can't even conceive. From what I remember, old swaying lore has b6 and prg cream swaying pink also. I think these are really minor factors in swaying, though. I hope your levels get back to normal and you get a little bean soon. XXOO

I agree with Lola- if you can't get pregnant, you can't get a girl anyway!

I agree too about dropping the Vitex and Saw Palmetto, your hormone levels might slowly rise and be enough to conceive but still in girl sway zone for your november attempt, FX

Yes, you absolutely can give up vitex and SP and get a girl. Most of the girls ever conceived were to people who aren't taking them. In fact, two people who I know well stopped taking vitex and got pg with a girl the next month.

Hey, I'm bummed tho, I feel bad that you're going through this. But I REALLY appreciate you letting us know this because it's going to help a lot of people.

Q if you have half a sec - did he mean that your T and P levels were too low to conceive?? So it was like your body just quit making them and started making massive amounts of estrogen instead??

My test were normal months ago (4?) but I think they changed when I stopped nursing and increased the herbs. My LP seems to have been short all along so I hope that will change.

Wow, that's really weird. Makes me wonder about the SP.

 that things are back to normal soon.

It is really weird because I spent the day looking at diet and hormones. I was just saying to my DH that I was really irritable and I think it is due to a high level of testosterone.
I just bought vitex and macasure. I won't use both but I was wondering if anyone had heard of macasure? It is from Peru and it is supposed to balance hormones naturally.

Yes, I've heard of maca. My concern is that it boosts fertility and might sway !!!!!BLUE!!!!!!! Not a lot is known about it so I am wary about it.

We have had pretty good results with vitex, so I would go with vitex. I did conceive an opposite while taking it though.

I want pink!!!!
Why is not a lot known about it,,?
The women at the health food store in Canada was quite sure about it and said that it balances hormones, increases energy, improves fertility etc.
I am late to start vitex....I have only two weeks. Is that long enough?

I've never heard of it. Good luck, you're ttc boy?

Maca is new and we haven't played around with it much yet. I know of one person who took it and had no results and another who took it and had some really weird side effects.

Health food people say a LOT of stuff about balance and energy and maybe it's totally true, but until I have seen it swaying pink with my own two eyes and/or read extensive scientific studies by people who come from, like, Harvard and not let's say, the Academy of Rainbow Granola Flowers :p, I consider it to be something that is still in the experimental stage.

My thinking is that anything that improves fertility, prob. sways blue anyway. BEst to stay away for now, IMO.

I'm pretty sure Atomic meant to say that it boosts fertility and might sway blue - anything which is good for fertility tends to sway blue.

I called the company and I think it balances hormones naturally.
It does help improve sperm count though....so, actually it does not enhance fertility other than recognizing if hormones are off.
Do you think this is accurate?

First of all, YES, I meant to say I think it prob. sways BLUE by boosting overall fertility. Both for men and women.

No. Not accurate at all. The statement "balances hormones naturally" is gibberish that has no meaning. Balances them in what way? What does that even mean? Were they out of balance to start with??? What if your hormones already WERE balanced, what happens then?? Not even the smartest doctors out there really even know what hormones are supposed to be doing or how they alter the gender ratio. It's jsut something the Maca company says to get you to buy their stuff. It sounds nice but it's like saying "Certs with Retsin"...WTH is Retsin and what does it have to do with my breath???

Secondly, you may WANT your hormones to be "unbalanced" to TTC pink anyway. Pretty much everything that disrupts the fertility process seems to sway pink and everything that assists it, seems to sway blue. So even if they are speaking the God's honest truth and Maca really is "balancing your hormones naturally" that may very well be the exact opposite of what you're trying to do.

The only thing I have ever read about Maca is that it is a "superfood" like wheatgrass or whatever. ITA with Atomic. It's not Vitex.
