So I’ve had a nipt test and 3 ultrasounds all confirm im having a girl
In a few weeks and I still can’t allow myself to believe it. I’m so scared to imagine it and it be wrong that I still can’t even say “her” when talking about the baby.

Of course everyone likes to tell me about their friend who was told the opposite in an ultrasound.

I need to be told I’m being crazy. Am I ? Could it still be wrong ?

NIPT is more accurate than an ultrasound at any gestation. So feel confident you’re having a girl and try to enjoy :)

Oh hopefulmummy, I'm so sorry you're still feeling this way. I feel like your whole pregnancy has been affected by this :(

Is there anyway you could talk to a professional? This persistent anxiety even with all of this reassurance sounds like you've been traumatized from your GD. I think the hormones definitely don't help! You ARE getting your girl. But you need to focus on your mental health here, and I think talking to someone wouls be really helpful

If NIPT said girl, believe it. I think you may be feeling so apprehensive about it because it probably feels like a "too good to be true" situation. I think I'd feel the same way too! Sometimes it's hard to believe when you get what you've wanted so much but you are! Soon you'll be holding that sweet baby girl in your arms. :) In the meantime, try to enjoy this last bit of pregnancy!

Thanks guys. I think it’s because I was told ds2 was going to be a girl so I’ve got distrust from that. No point in counselling now I’ve only got a couple of weeks left anyway. But thanks guys.

WE all feel like that - either we have a hard time believing the test/ultrasound or else (and this was me) were convinced something would happen to the baby. It took me until very recently before I stopped waking up in a panic in the middle of the night sure that something had happened to my daughter! But you probably more likely to be in a car accident on the way to the hospital than that the NIPT and three scans are wrong!

Yep. There is also that scare of it being too good to be true so something bad will happen. But I’ve always been scared with all my pregnancies with that. I’m definitely an anxious person when pregnant. I’m aware of it and I know it.

Ah atomic that must be so full on to feel that way even up till now. Anxiety over our children is so tiring and upsetting.

It never ends, even when they're 26 years old (that's how old my oldest is!) You'd think I'd be used to it by now! o.O

Wishing you a very easy birth and can't wait for update!
