Hello All. Im wondering what everyone thinks about the baking soda gender test. I know its an old wives tale but it is the only one that was consistant for me in my past pregnancies. With my Daughter I got a girl results and my last pregnancy which was a boy I got a boy result and didnt get a girl result even when I tried. I dont recall doing it for my first son after my daughter. Im so bummed and kicking myself right now. I told myself I wasnt going to do it this time around and I went and did it, and I got a boy result all times FMU. I swayed girl so bad and I dont think I can handle the stress of another pregnancy this was going to be my last. I read a few false results but I noticed the opposite results tend to be when the test says its a girl but it ends up a boy, but I am not seeing any results of boy result = girl. The foaming is usually correct
Why did I test :( My gut intuition was always right for me, with all my pregnancies as well. I just knew and I was right when I felt the gender of my girl and both boys. Even when I badly wanted a sister for my daughter, I knew he was a boy.
I really felt this was a girl, I think I felt that because my lifestyle/weight/time/cycles everything was different this time around, but I always have that hunch. The one thing that did worry me is I did tend to eat a ton of vegetables I know its okay on LE diet, but it was one of those things I still somewhat believed might sway blue, but I did it anyway because you have to eat something..
Anyways Im feeling so sad about this. I duno I really did think I have a girl but now Im just not sure what I feel
I guess im looking for anyones imput on this? did anyone test boy and it was wrong?

It doesn't work. People tested it back on Ingender and they could get a different result on gender just based on eating or drinking different foods.
I have seen this be wrong for tons and tons of people, both blue and pink swayers getting wrong results with it. It just does not work, please don't read anything into that.

Well, what I heard is that what makes the baking soda fizzle is a more acidic urine, and that if it doesn't fizzle then your urine is more neutral pH.
I've heard that eating red meat makes your urine more acidic, and eating red meat also sways boy, so that is consistent. So I'm ready to believe that having more acidic urine (which would give you fizzes and a boy result on the baking soda test) might be an indication that your body is more boy friendly, but I in no way believe this is right 100% of of the time. I could see it possibly being right something like 55% of the time.
BUT listen, there are a million old wives tales out there, and approximately 500,000 will tell you it's a boy and 500,000 will tell you it's a girl, so one of them telling you boy shouldn't really worry you. Wait for the gender ultrasound, and good luck.

I tried this test with DS3 out of sheer curiosity and I got different results every time. Please don't buy into this "gender test." It's an old wives tale for a reason.

The only thing that changes the pH of your urine is the foods you eat and the stuff you drink. No one's body ever is actually acidic or alkaline, if your body goes out of a very narrow range, you die (literally die). Plus, even the people who believe in pH like Tamara will tell you, you can't tell anything about pH from saliva or urine. ONLY by checking your cervical mucus at ovulation do you know what is happening in your body for swaying. Urine does NOT work for swaying even according to the people who believe in pH.
pH stuff has not worked for swaying. Not only because our bodies are not acidic or alkaline (and this is impossible, full case against pH is here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html) but because we have used low pH jellies extensively and also cranberry/baby aspirin and when we tracked our results, they did not sway. We had the same results for people using them and not using them. So there is NO WAY that if low pH jelly + cranberry/baby aspirin is not working, that you can somehow tell your baby's gender from urine pH! It just doesn't make any sense at all.

I asked 3 people that were pregnant to do try it and 1 was correct on boy, 1 was correct on girl and the last one was wrong, it said boy but she had a girl. I haven't tried with this baby but when I did it with my son it was correct too. It's really just a shot in a the dark though. I wouldn't get stressed about it at all. I will probably try it before I find out the gender in 2 weeks but I am not going to put too much into it :)

Thanks everyone. Its good to hear everyones input. The fact that Atomic strongly disbelieves in it gives me hope lol I mean I also believed in ramzi up in the past because my Ramzi results always agree'd with my baking soda tests. I know people around here dont believe in ramzi and this time the results of both tests dont match. With my girl she was left implanted/ no fizz on BS test. and my boy was right implanted/lots of foam Baking soda test. But this one seems to be doing its own thing with opposite results. My tech was so awesome and caring at my 5 week ultrasound (Went early as I was bleeding, problem resolved itself) When I mentioned ramzi she laughed and straight away said "well This one is to the left. If I ever see you again let me know if its a girl!" Lol So this one my ramzy does not agree with the baking soda, which makes me happy cuz one of them has gotta be wrong! lol
I think ill just step away from these crazy theories for a while, I just wanted to see what happened but its not worth the heartache! Im only 7 weeks so I got a longggg way to go to find out. Wishing everyone the best! I will absolutely be back to tell everyone when I do find out :)
