So we’re going to try one attempt (though it’s how I got my boys so a bit nervous!) but should DH be releasing in the build up to that (twice a week or whatever) or should he not bother at all? Have got a bit confused by the stuff on frequency
Also, should I jump and dump? I’m confused abou that. If I have a wee afterwards won’t it just push everything out? TIA

If hes over 35 abstaining before 1 attempt is not advised.

Just to clarify, one attempt is always advised, abstain is not advised for men over 35.

You got your boys not because of one attempt, but in SPITE of it.
The annoying answer is, it depends. I can't give a blanket prescription for everyone about frequency without a custom plan and all I can do is reissue the most basic guidelines -
Under 35 - abstain 7-10 days before one attempt
Over 35 and if able to - daily/frequent release (FR) 7-10 days before one attempt
Or for any man who can't do FR/couples that need higher chance of conception right from the start, do regular release every 2-4 days before one attempt
Or if hubby won't do any of that just let him "do what he does" and have one attempt.
RE J and D no you can get pregnant even if you get up right away, cook dinner for 60 people, and run a marathon. It does cut odds of conception somewhat, though. We have a compromise where we j and d after 5 minutes to give the swimmers a better chance. You can extend this to 10, 15, or longer over time but most do want to start off with 0-5 min. J and D.

That’s great, thank you. Exactly what I was hoping for - a really clear summary, thanks again :-)
