Just thought I would add a friend’s story in support of one attempt. Friend is 30, husband is also 30. They have a boy and a girl, did not want anymore kids. They weren’t using any birth control, just condoms and pull out method. In the fall she wasn’t feeling well and had recently stopped exercising (regular weight training and aerobic classes) due to a knee injury. She told me she was pregnant in November, and was shocked because her and her husband only had sex once in October since she had been sick/injury etc. She’s having a girl! I’ve been so curious to find out what she’s having because she knew it had only been the one attempt. Just thought I would share :)

Thank you so much!! Yes even though it's no magic bullet, I really do think one attempt is effective for pink. Don't know how, don't know why, but if I had the money I'd be studying it that's for sure! :)

Thanks for sharing!
Atomic - you definitely should study this! Is there a crowd funding campaign in support of you studying this that I could donate to?! lol

Unfortunately the kind of money we'd need to study this is beyond the realm of crowdfunding, I suspect. :) So many things I'd love to study!

Atomic do you have any theories as to why one attempt sways pink and more than one sways blue? I’m just curious.

I have a couple theories, but who knows. LOL.
1)Something about fewer sperm at the egg may favor the ability of X vs. Y sperm to penetrate the egg. It takes more than one sperm to penetrate the eggshell - one sperm can't do it alone, it takes the actions of several sperm to get through the shell. Since X sperm are slightly bigger, they may be able to push their way in with less help, and Y sperm may need more assistants to get one of them through.
2)Something keeps more of the X or Y sperm dormant while more of the Y or X sperm capacitate and go to meet the egg. I think this is the most likely!
There's also possibly a situation where some sperm attack the other sperm and may kill more X or Y.

My sister and I were opposite she only had the one attempt, because she only seen her husband now once a week. She had my baby nephew, and I had eod until positive opk and did 5 days in a row. I’m having a girl. We were the opposites of this. I was doing the diet, and exercise and everything though. With that being said, I believe dh’s sperm count is low due to his bp meds, and weight. We’ve always had to try to get pregnant.

Mommy2, you are also the poster child for doing diet with a lot of dedication - nobody did a better job on diet than you did, ever, in the history of the site, I don't think. :)
It never comes down to one thing. You can find people who got boys with one attempt and girls with many attempts. But we do know based on our results that one attempt PLUS an otherwise good sway (not just one attempt, but diet, exercise, etc) has had good results even though it's no magic bullet.
