View Full Version : Pink swayers - How much coffee?

Blushpinkbabyxx
March 18th, 2018, 11:48 AM
Since everyone’s type and perception of measurement is different, being that brewed coffee and a cup/mugs measure varies, I’m curious to see how much coffee other swayers drank or are drinking exactly.

By my coffee pot measurement I make and drink 3 cups of coffee, but based off an actual liquid measure I drink 2 cups (16oz) of coffee a day. And depending on how big my coffee mug is, it could be called just 1 cup. I’m hoping the amount I drink is considered enough coffee to help sway girl.

For those who got girls, how much coffee did you drink per day to get your girl?

And, for those who are swaying, how much coffee are you drinking per day?

I’m a total novice but I’ve assumed the “cup” measurement referred to 8oz. So 2-3 cups being 16-24oz/day. Hopefully that’s correct!

Ah yes, thank you, I forgot to include the oz measurement when I posted. I drink 16oz by the correct measurement. Sometimes that depends on how big my cup/mug is it might be considered 1 cup lol

In ref to coffee - should full fat milk be avoided?
Ive never drunk coffee but will to try but cant imagine liking black coffee
I know Atomic had it with proper sugar and concieved DD so guess thats up to individuals.

If you have PCOS, do the full fat milk if you need dairy in your coffee. No artificial creamers or skim milk. If you don't have PCOS then it's up to you depending on what you like. If you're putting a lot of milk or creamer or sugar in it then it needs to be treated as a meal.

I have my coffee with regular sugar and half & half creamer. Not sure if that is correct or not, but if I recall from things I’ve previously read on here that it’s fine.

I drink 2-3 mugs per day and use artificial sweetener and a splash of almond milk.

I drink 1 mug a day (instant coffee) but very strong so maybe equal to 2 mugs. More than that i cant do because it makes me feel nauseous and insomnia. I drink my coffee with a bit artificial sweeteners and unfortified rice milk or low fat milk. Sometimes i drink a coffee with lots of sugar and creamer with meals.

All you have to do is have more than when you got your boys.

If you were drinking none, have 1 cup. If 1 cup, have 2. If 2, have 3. Most people have no more than 3 cups a day. Personally, I am highly caffeinated LOL and was very exhausted when I was swaying and I often had 4-5 cups (still do! LOL). I don't recommend that for most people, but that's what I had.

The official recommendation is to have either no sugar or artificial sweetener in coffee. BUT I personally cheated on that. For me, no sugar in my morning coffee saps my will to live and since I knew from DS 3 and 4 that sways can fail, I wasn't willing to be that miserable when I was swaying I chose to have regular sugar. It's not what I suggest for you guys, but it is what I did. :)

Thanks guys 👍🏼
Think im gonna have a cup with each meal, as its easier for me then as i dont eat and drink between meals. Prob keep the sugar but as little as poss, and will try with very little milk, i dont have pcos. I think if i really dont like the taste il just down it quickly as poss pretending its medicine 😆. I take it doesnt matter what coffe it is, decaf, caf, or whatever other forms it comes in?

It depends on what you need from your diet. If you're low in fat, full fat milk can be a really easy way to get a little extra fat without having to think about it much. And EVERYONE who has PCOS, insulin resistance, egg quality issues, or more than 30 lbs to lose should be doing ONLY full fat dairy, no skim at all. If you don't have those concerns then do whatever meets your dietary needs better.

Yes a small coffee mug is 6-8 oz and so that's what I consider a cup. So people who are drinking 24 oz. lattes, that's like a meal and needs to be treated as such

We are not sure if it is caffeinated coffee or just ANY coffee (thus decaf would be ok) so I typically recommend caffeinated, but it very well may be the case that decaf is just as good. We simply don't know. :)

When I was swaying I had black coffee with real sugar, couldn't abide the taste with sweeteners, I figured as it was just sugar with no milk that my body would deal quite quickly with the sugar and so I didn't worry about it. In terms of amounts I drunk as much as I could stomach, I actually started to quite like it in the end. Not sure if my sway has worked or not but that was my personal preference with coffee. Good luck.

This way its my system and im not adding milk or sugar ... may do on the odd occasion but think this way will be best 👍🏼

I was only able to manage 1-2 cups per day (anymore makes me so jittery) and I’m having a boy. Obviously there’s way more that goes into a sway though!

Some think aspartame is best and suggest avoid stevia because they say it sways blue.

I doubt any of them do anything at all so use the one you like best.

Haha too funny and too cute! Because you don’t really drink coffee and aren’t used to it, I would think that’s pretty late in the day to drink it hun. I’m not sure when in the day it should be drank for swaying pink, but I prefer drinking my coffee in the morning around 8-8:30 am. It gives me a good start my day lol Caffeine can affect people in different ways and it is likely that caffeine affects you and makes to zinggg if you drink it too late in the day. I’d start drinking it in the morning but also maybe slowly work yourself up to larger amounts. I’m sure Atomic will weigh in on this and give you the coffee info and when to drink it, but that is just what I would do.

Hey thanks for your post
I dont eat or drink until 11am/12pm (only water) so find it hard to take coffee before but will deffo try. I know coffee esp black does not affect sugar levels and fasting period but in my head its nil by mouth ( may cos i fast in Ramadhan and thats nil by mouth period)
My eyes are stinging with sleep but im not sleeping 😭

Since you don’t regularly drink coffee, maybe you’d only need 1 cup to add to your sway to be more pink friendly...? It would be 1 cup more than you haven’t drank previously, and 1 cup is likely more manageable than 2 or 3. You may even get used to drinking 1 cup of coffee to be able to drink it at 2pm and not have it affect your sleep.

As for helping you sleep, even for just tonight, the only thing I can think of would be to have a relaxing bath with lavender, get your pj’s on and go to bed early.

Oh and to help with your eyes stinging, keep your eyes closed even if you are just laying there. It will help your eyes feel more rested even if you aren’t in a deep sleepy. If you can try to breath deeply and slow your breathing as well, you may actually fall asleep.

Oh no, I hope they feel better soon and I hope you all get sleep. [emoji169]

Coffee is considered a diuretic in many ways. Apart from the caffeine in coffee being a stimulant and waking a person up, it is a natural appetite suppressant you may not feel the need to eat until you are hungry. As for why it’s better to have in the morning for your sway, I’m sure Atomic will touch on that.

No. It can be a nice replacement for breakfast for some and may help lower blood sugar (it's normal to have a rise in blood sugar in the morning, coffee may help lower it) but other than that and the sleep issue there is no reason why it should be morning.

Hiya Blushpinkbabyxx,
First of I just have to say I absolutely love your profile pic hehe super gorgeous :)
With coffee I've always been a coffee drinker :) when I was swaying for my girl I drank roughly 2-3 cups a day and that's a coffee mug size, I just drink cheap coffee haha I'm a frugal mom and i've never drank much perculated or any of that stuff please excuse my spelling Iam terrible at it haha.

Most of my reasons for drinking coffee are because I've been a long term skipping breakfast person, I don't like cereals or anything like that and never have and also I used to work long long long hours so I loved my coffee :) and by the time I got around to eating it was a snack around 10ish-11ish most days so that has just stuck with me :)

I’m a bit confused about the coffee recommendation for swaying pink. Everything outside of gender dreaming says not to have coffee if swaying pink (so I’ve actually stopped.. I used to have 2 cups a day). But this forum seems to talk about caffeine being good for pink sway?? Is this correct? Is there a reason for this? Apologies for a silly question!

Yes, caffeine, and more specifically coffee (not tea), sways pink. I know lots of moms who drink coffee, and a fair amount of coffee at that, that all have at least one daughter, and if not they have 2+ daughters. I’m sure Atomic will touch on why, but from what I recall all those theories as to why it should be avoided have all been debunked. So you should probably resume your daily coffee again... especially if you like it!! [emoji6]

Yes, we have outstanding results with coffee (it is likely coffee, not caffeine alone) for pink sways. I have a mindnumbingly long explanation in this thread but basically their notions on gender swaying and caffeine/coffee are completely wrong and have been debunked even using their own science. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/56791-vices-swaying.html

Hi,
No not the whole cycle just during the fertile window of when I was tempting and tracking using opk to find my ovulation window :)
Also my ovulation was hard to pin point as Iam still breastfeeding my little one.
My partner started a new job which requires him to work away every 5 days then home for 5 so we bed on Nov 13th and 14th then again 6 days later on the 22nd and 25th according to fertility friend and temping I ovulated around the 23rd of Nov 2017 so conception mostly likely occurred around 16-21st. I hope that helps :)

Not necessarily. You can use however much milk in coffee within your limits. If you're having it with a meal you can have as much as you want. In the morning or between meals, you should probably stick with a couple tablespoons but that is usually plenty (just avoid the lattes that have 1-2 cups of milk in them). no need to be deprived constantly, it's fine to have a nice cup of coffee with some milk/cream in it.

Yes, and you'd get a nasty headache for several days if you went off it! There is plenty of time at BFP to wean off it if you'd like to without suffering the ill effects.
