HopeandDreamG - I see your temp went back down today. Now that is puzzling... Are you going to keep at it until you get your coverline?
Thanks - that's probably what happened then - they got lost in the update.
Mocha - how exciting for a BFN! These are probably the only times where we want to see that. I remember after we lost our angel in February, that feeling when the test was BFN. I oed 11 days after that.
lemon - I hope you get your girl soon. I understand how that diet can get to you. I was on it when we conceived my angel and was feeling pretty icky on it.
I'm at 4dpo and there are so many things going on in the next week so I'm hoping that it will keep me nice and occupied.

Oh, look at this nice little Quick Reply box! Fancy!
I was feeling awesome about this month, and now I'm really starting to feel non-confident now that the 2WW is here. I hate not being able to get pg. I thought the getting pregnant would be the easy part, and the getting a girl would be the hard part. Now I'm thinking I'll be lucky to get pg again.
Found out my DH is not taking his vitamins regularly...wth? We had an amazingly stressful days after I found that out, without resolving anything. I think he's tired of me being crazy and obsessing, but it's hard not to!

Hey, ladies. So, Lemon-why are you so down? Didn't you just finish your attempt? It seemed pretty good to me? How many months has everyone been at this? I know a few of you are staring up again after losses.
I am going to be taking the 6th of 10 Provera pills which should be starting my period at some point. Don't know exactly when, they say about a week after the last pill but it could be 2 days or more than a week. Then I start clomid cycle days 5-9. I do struggle with what to eat and I still haven't ironed out my plan.

Thanks, Indigo. I'm still trying to decide what to do. My cervix is completely SHOW today, but instead of EWCM I have globby brownish red discharge - I'm not sure if it's ok to dtd if I'm still spotting like that. Anyone here know? It's not enough to show up on a pad, but when I check my cervix there seems to be a lot of it. I did put some rephresh in yesterday just in case. I know your body can fool you after a m/c, but all the signs are suggesting I could O tomorrow, which would be right on time according to my normal cycle (CD16). I'm going to take an OPK later today to see what it says. I really don't want to miss this egg if it's really coming....

Kitten~ no I'm not going to keep at it till coverline. DTD once on CD 12 even if it shows I O'd on CD 15 thats still a 2.5/3 day cut off-pretty good I think. I don't even believe in timing anymore. Just didn't want to be way off and miss any chance of even conceiving. I really think I O'd CD12 (way off then normal). Rainbowflower weighed in and thinks I didn't get the crosshairs yet on FF bc of the slightly lower temp on CD15. Guess we'll see in a couple of more days.
Lemon~ Of course I think you have a chance of getting a DD..even without swaying you have a 50/50 chance!
Mocha~ Glad you got your BFN. I think you can go for it! I responded on your thread.
Amari~ Your gearing up, right??

Ladies, I have a concern, I am sticking to the diet really well, very low fat, low sodium, low protein, low cal. My morning weight is down to 96-97 and I am 5'4". I am eating mostly white toast with cream cheese and sugar-free jelly, this corn cereal that just has corn and sugar, a little milk, iceburg lettuce salads with cucumber and white mushrooms, yoplait lite yogurts, cauliflower, greenbeans, white rice, white pasta, lite swiss cheese, parmasean, green beans, smoothies with psyllium husk and rice milk and a little banana and strawberry with equal and some sweets here and there. So, my concern: I cannot skip breakfast! There is no way. I get tingly and light headed and I just can't do it. I am worried because of that Oxford study that this is going to ruin my sway. I am trying to eat non nutritious stuff usually the toast and cream cheese and jelly, but am I screwed? Tell me the truth, please? I will try and skip around O time...thanks for your input.

It's so nice to see so many new swayers joining us. Welcome!
amari - I could be wrong on this one, but I don't think it matters WHICH meal you skip as long as you have a long period where you keep your blood sugar low. For me, I find breakfast the easiest to skip, so I eat at 12, 5 then a snack at 8:30 or so. Maybe for you it would be better to eat breakfast and lunch, then have a light, early dinner with no snacking afterwards?
I got impatient and did an OPK with SMU this morning and it was -, but all the signs are still there that O is imminent, so I'm holding my pee to do another OPK this afternoon. I think we may dtd tonight regardless - I haven't told dh yet, but he'll be thrilled - we've only dtd once since I got pregnant in September .

There is no way that one factor is going to ruin your sway. If it concerns you that much I would put off breakfast as long as possible-even if its an hour delayed and I wouldn't eat something that has lots of sugar. I think its the weight loss overall - I really believe that. I have a bit of coffee to help get me past some time.. I do know what you mean, when I bend over and get up quick I KNOW my blood sugar is low I start to see spots- if you know what I am talking about.

Hope&dreaming, I had a look at your chart, but Im so hopeless at those things, I wish I had an answer for you.
Amari try not to stress, talk about crazy dreams I have them all the time lately, I tend to have scarey dreams which are not fun.
Twinkle I have 2 girls they are 8 & 6 and then this one will be like a single child really, how did you find it with your youngest, did your other kids all just love it or what?? Cause when this one is born my girls will be 9 & 7 quiet an age gap.
Goodluck Kitten, I see your 3dpo.

Hi everyone,
I have not been reading as much as of late...it takes me a while to catch up!
It is really interesting bc we really need to focus on getting pregnant and be healthy as we are over 35! We have many with mc and trying again and I hope we have a lot of BFP before Christmas!
It is still hard to let go of the ttc a specific gender, I think that is why I have been so down.
And, I have been buying boy toys and I long for a pretty pink doll!!!!
I have a feeling that will never be me. I also worry about missing out on the mother daughter relationship. How do we overcome this?
Mocha...I so hope your body is being kind and ovulating:)
Hope....how are you????? if you do not belive in timing, wld yo dtd again so you don't miss o?
amari: what is your plan again?
and, um,...seriously, you weigh less than 100 lbs!!!! Eat breakie...lol!
TTC boy...not sure how to sway boy unless you eat a lot of processed food and maybe dtd close to o? then again, I also dtd close to o again...and I hope for girl! ugh!
kitten....how are you holding up?
lola...how are things for you?
Take care everyone?:)
anyone believe in moon or jonas???
PS: I am 6 ro 7 dpo and I hve some stomach twinges and some cm....just reading into things????

Hopesanddreams-Yes, that low blood sugar thing gets to me too! At least we know its' working!
Mocha-I guess I'm on a similar plan, just I do around 9, 1 or 2 and then around 8 or 9pm. Thanks!
Lemon-That could be a great sign!! Fingers crossed! You asked about my plan.. is I am on provera waiting for my period now, will start clomid on days 5-9. I am ironing out the details but thinking frequent release from days 5 through +opk and then 2 attempts?? I'm nervous about this b/c I got prego with ds1 after dtd 18 days in a row. And with being on clomid I don't think I can use benadryl or represh so idk?
Hope everyone is having a good night!!

Lemon~ I had a dream that you posted on a thread that you had a dream we were both pregnant with girls due July... How funny!! Except not so funny that the conception would be a really long time from now to be due July...Don't feel like figuring it out now wanted to post before I forgot my dream!! I know I owe you a PM!
Oh and I didn't DTD again because I believe more sperm= blue, not because of timing
I'm curious what everyone thinks of the Jonas theory and moon signs. Would you actually skip a whole month ttc if it was an opposite moon (boy/girl) then the gender you desired?? I can't see skipping an entire month but I can't say it wouldn't bother me at least a little!

Hi everyone,
You had a dream we had a girl...lol!
Maybe the girls came early:)
Funny, bc years ago I had a reading by cheri22 and she said boy July...but that was years ago!
Our due date would be August right?
How are you?
I am cd8 or 9 I think. No more cm today but stomach ache. I am so tired and ready for bed. Of course, it snowed this am....ugh! I have been cold all day long.
I think I am just wiped out ttc and working full time...plus long night tomorrow. work from 8 am to 8 pm! And, I am not a nurse! That would make sense!
My month was girl with moon and jonas....I was hoping. We dtd on Jonas day just in case...lol! We also dtd moon day (which would be 2 days after o, maybe even one!!!) bc it was girl.
However, I have no experience with the theories and really do not really believe in it either...maybe just hoping, praying, dreaming!
What low blood sugar thing????
I have been gaining weight and going off the diet.
I am sad,...I really want a third, but I really want a girl.
I don't want to think about it or plan this anymore.
Some people are just lucky and it just happens....Hope had that experience. It must be hard this time round.
Mocha is ready and gearing up to go....
I really hope we are all lucky and we all get our Christmas Girly wishes:)
How I would love to buy a doll and buy pink!!!!
PS: at 8 -9 days past o,...no real signs right?
My temp dipped a tad this am, not a significant amount and it is more in keeping with previous months:(
bye for now girls!

amari- I was on clomid for ds1.
I got pregnant my second month using it. In fact, there were two mature follicles and only one matured or took!
I really believe the first month I took clomid it was a girl. Not sure why,..maybe gut reaction but also my body felt fuller and tingly right away. I had the worst mentral cramps and truly believe it was a miscarriage.
I had a faint pos at 9 dpo but maybe that was something else....a few hours later I tried another test and it was gone.
Anyway, I dtd cd 9, 12, 14, 15, 16 and I think I ovulated around cd 16 ot 17.
Hope that helps!
Clomid sways girl!

I also sooooo want to buy a doll LEMON ,i almost bought one for myself last time i was in a toy shop .And i will probably still if i get a girl ill get one for me and one for her ...so we can play youuuu know?
Or ill end up one of those old ladies collecting dolls OMG!
I dont think we ever grow up i still want to play with dolls!!

December 1st, 2011, 08:59 AM
Yuzu~ looks like you may have to hold him down!!
Sweetsister~ that seriously made me laugh picture an old lady surrounded by dolls!
You know its funny we have been Christmas shopping for our boys, and I started explaining to DH how badly I wanted to buy girl toys. I'd love to buy dolls, and beautiful clothes, oh I long for a TUTU!! DH looked at me and said this is the first time I really get why you want a daughter so bad. I think it finally registered because he LOVES all the boy toys and goes crazy buying everything.
Anyway, I am now 6 days passed O. My FF chart just gave me crosshairs. I O'd CD12 days earlier then the usual CD 16 or 17! Can't believe it, also O'd same days as positive OPK- that never happens. So, this also means I DTD day of O. I really don't believe that timing matters, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me a little. Its hard to move away from something you have always believed even when you now have evidence against your belief.
We went for Christmas pics (cards) of the boys last night. They came out gorgeous. It was hard to see all the little girls in their beautiful dresses. Made it a little harder knowing my due date was next month :(. I think that has made this time of year harder for me because I know I would have been on cloud 9 knowing a baby girl was coming in January.
How is everyone?
Lemon~ you think maybe you are preggo? Would be great Christmas gift!! The blood sugar thing is how you get light headed and the room goes dark if you bend over and get up too quick- its clear your blood sugar is low!

Mocha~ Did you attempt how was it? Hope you feel good about it.
We did have our attempt 2 nights ago. I felt pretty good about it - I took Benedryl and Zyrtec, drank lots of CL, had dh release a couple hours before the attempt, and had used Rephresh about 24 hours before. However, I still haven't gotten my +OPK, and last night I started spotting again - mixed in with the EWCM. The spotting tapered off this morning, and now it's normal EWCM again, so I'll just keep taking OPKs until I get my +. We might dtd again tonight (after having him release first again) just to cover our bases as well.

lemon - I know lots of women get spotting when they implant, so that could definitely be what it is. While I was TTC last summer, 2 months in a row I had very minor spotting around 10dpo, but ended up with a BFN anyway....

December 3rd, 2011, 02:49 PM
You can test as early as 10dpo. You can of course get a false positive... For me that would be Monday. Not sure when I'm going to test. Dh thinks it worked bc I have been so tired and I'm not normally tired. I think he just wants me to be so he can eat whatever he wants!!

Hey ladies, need to update you, got my BFP yesterday!!
I am really shocked as was technically taking a 'month-off'. I was just getting too thin so spent a few weeks putting ON weight for my proper sway and hardcore diet starting in December.
I didn't really want an August baby as we have holidays booked and it totally screws all that up! I am of course really happy and excited, I do NOT want to be ungrateful, just a bit upset I didn't manage to give the sway my best shot. I wanted to do so much more and thought I had time as I'd NEVER get pg when I wasn't even trying. It took us 15 months ttc ds2, preseed, the lot just to get pg and now wasn't even trying!! We had a 3-4 day cut-off and the only good thing was I did J&D, Rephresh before and after dtd.
Sorry for 'moaning' as I know this is a huge gift and I am so so grateful but I know you will understand where I'm coming from and I just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks ladies for listening :HH:

Indigo - I'm soooooo excited for you!!!!!:cheerteam:
I wouldn't worry at all about your sway - it always seems like the women who relax and have an 'oops' pregnancy are the ones who get their girls. Look at Doulamama - she had a similar situation - she really didn't WANT to get pregnant that month because of prior commitments on the due date, but here she is now with a confirmed GIRL in there!!!!
I'm really hoping we can be due date buddies :HH:.
Oh, and Z-B - thanks for asking about 'smog' - that one's been perplexing me since I joined this site!!

lemon - I know lots of women get spotting when they implant, so that could definitely be what it is. While I was TTC last summer, 2 months in a row I had very minor spotting around 10dpo, but ended up with a BFN anyway....
Hi Mocha,
I looked back and I also had spotting days before AF was due. I had hoped this was different. I am the worst most paranoid swayer in the world.
I am a perfectionist and I know it will be a boy anyway.
I need to relax and embrace a third boy and hope maybe a girl!
I have not tested and I am cd 12. My temp is still up and I have not had anymore spotting except a tad on cd 11 but only bc I was looking.
I am already preparing to just go for it next month....I need you girls to help me!

WOW, lucky girl.
I agree that is when DGs are ready to arrive! When you least expect them!!!!
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it, with a cut off, j and d and rephresh!
Did you use a lot of rephresh!
I am so happy for you.......rebook those holidays! lol
YEAH!
I only have one pregn test....it is cd 12 and I think bfn so I won't waste it. Af usually comes 15 dpo so there is time still.
Hope, we went out for dinner as well......I was so thirsty...yummy beer and sweet potatoe fries...big no nos I am sure.

lemon2012
December 4th, 2011, 03:32 PM
Mocha..I checked your chart..but with spotting at 3dpo it is confusing. I think with a temp shift it means you have ovulated. I wonder the same thing though,...especially being older, do we really o even with a temp shift?
I keep wondering about this month bc I think o came early a bit and the OPKS were not super dark. The only thing I truly have to go on is the temp shift.
I have not tested.
I have a horrible back ache and cramps.
I think I am having prolonged and painful premenstral symptoms.
Part of me wonders if maybe I tried to get pregnant???
I have eaten out this weekend and it was so salty. I am so thristy!
I give up on the diet....well, for now!
It is too hard. I gained 3 pounds! Lol!
PS: I know I PM'd you about weight...I am all fat and weigh hardly anything...lol. Oh, and I have no boobs:( So, I am not really that thin.
I will test if I do not get af. But, I truly doubt I am pg.
I am focusing on next month and giving up a lot of swaying.
I will keep supplements, maybe lower salt the next two weeks (after my weekend and week of eating), maybe rephresh a bit earlier in my cycle, and a few attempts close to o. What do you guys think?
I need a sway still but I get so paranoid. After I o I wish I could be done with it! So, I need to get pregnant but I need an easy sway.
Suggestions?
Mocha,...your timing looks great if you did o...you got them in there when you need to!

I had to read my post again,...lol!
I think I meant, what if my body tried to get pregnant but it did not take..? Would I notice?
I still think Af will arrive...but not due until Wed...this would be early.
Your luteal phase does not change right? If anything, it might change by a day but it is supposed to stay consistent.
HOPE: What did you eat?
We went to church with my parents today...it is their anniversary today.
Then I had eggs benedict at the restaurant for lunch!
I also had 1.5 cups of coffee today!
Hahha, it is actually ridiculous how eating certain foods makes me think twice!

I know - that's the funny part. Here I am someone who doesn't believe in timing, and I end up with a 2 day cut off and possible O+12! I would have been MUCH happier with BD through O, but the lack of +OPK confused me so much.

I did this morning with a Wondfo and no line..but I think its super early- every sign feels like I am-I've been exhausted, back ache, almost menstrual like symptoms, feel totally warm by the end of the day. Wishing I had a frer this am. I may go get one when I bring DS to school in a bit for tomorrow! I read online that the frer detects way earlier then the wondfo cheapies!
Mochagirl
December 5th, 2011, 09:52 AM
DEFINITELY get a FRER. In the past I've gotten BFPs at 8 or 9dpo with FRER and was still getting BFNs with cheapies at 13dpo....

December 5th, 2011, 10:47 AM
Yes - it definitely seems like I O'd - I've had 4 days of high temps now and FF gave me my crosshairs yesterday. Apparently you can't get a thermal shift without Oing.
As for whether I have a chance at a BFP...that's debatable. I spotted throughout my fertile time and even spotted at 3dpo. We also had pretty bad timing and perhaps too many swaying factors (rephresh + sylk + fr etc.). I'm not getting my hopes up too much for a BFP.

Thank you for the luck! I think it may have worked. Not sure though. I tested this morning with an internet cheapy and I got the faintest of faint lines. As a matter of fact, it's so faint that it may be my imagination. So I tested again a few minutes ago and I got another extremely faint line. I can't even get a picture of it on my camera. Yuzu~ I DEFINATELY see the line YEAH!! WOO HOO..

Holy, my diet this weekend and carried over into today has been a Disaster. It actually worries me if I get a BFN how much damage I did if I need to attempt in January!

Is FRER first repsonse?
I used internet cheapie..early preg...do you know it?
I am pretty sure I am out.....99% positive or even 99.9%.
The diet is out! BIG TIME...and I would be due to ovulate in 16 days from today...so, generally I am not swaying anymore I guess. DH is done swaying anyway. We just want a baby....but, a girl would make me sooo happy! I will always wonder what it would be like if I never have one. I could go on, but I think we all know how it feels!
My temp is a tad lower but still over 98. Yours is super high!
Thanks Yuzu! No more tests so I cannot test if I wanted to. Besides, af will be here for sure Wed...:( I am sad I am the only one left...? :(

First of all, let me say WOOHOO!!!! to Yuzu - that is DEFINITELY a line. You're preggo, girl!!!

Mocha....the earlypregnancytests are the OPKS I rely on....are they not any good????
I only have the preg test that came free with other tests. I have no idea the sensitivity of them...however, I just feel like I am due for AF.
MOCHA...you have a perfectly awesome chance,...is it because of timing you think you don't have a chance?
Mochagirl
December 5th, 2011, 09:09 PM
No - their OPKs are ok - though I never rely on them alone - when they start getting dark I use Clearblue digis to confirm them. Good thing, because they are never quite positive yet when my digi gives me a smilie.
The reason I'm not expecting a BFP is a combination of timing, too much rephresh, sylk and jump and dump. When you look at it, it's a pretty good girl sway I suppose, but I'm more interested in getting pregnant quickly, and last summer I wasn't able to get pregnant until I dropped all that and just relied on supplements, diet and antihistamines.

Hey mocha,
They are often hard to read!
I back them up with the cbfm...but it only peaks the day I o,..which I think is confusing since it is always gives a second peak day for everyone followed by one high day. That would mean I am actually infertile right?

lemon - I totally agree with Mochagirl about the IC. I think they are really inconsistent - some are good, but a lot are just plain bad. I also did the same as Mochagirl with OPKs - confirmed with the smiley faces.
Hobbermittens - you can have some of my blue dust too!
Mochagirl - last year when we were swaying, I had to drop almost everything too to get pg. I did the same as you, supplements, pseudo diet and sudafed when we got pg with our angel.

Hello Ladies! I just joined and finally posting -- so excited to see a group for buddies over 35 - woo hoo!
I am 40, and DH is 41. We have 2 gorgeous DSs ages 4.5 and 2.5. We want to add a third soul to our family (and I would love a little girl. DH doesn't care -- he jokes that he wants "an army of men" ARGH!) So, I want to sway but DH won't do much besides agreeing to abstain or do frequent release. He already takes a bunch of vitamins but won't do the "girl" supplements or diet.
I've looked carefully back on how our DSs were conceived and thinking at minimum I maybe should try the opposite? Did anyone else do that? What do you think? DS1 was conceived the first month (I was 34) by dtd 2x on D10 and D13. At the time I had a 27 day cycle and according to the website I used to track I was scheduled to O on D13. I had no idea what I was doing back then, no idea when I actually O'd but just figured we would try a little around O. DS2 was conceived "oops" on D8, so 5 days before my scheduled O, but again I have no idea when I really O'd. So, I'm thinking maybe lots of BD from AF to O?
Also, I know some think this is silly, but all BD attempts with DS were on BOY moons! DS1 was in full moon, and DS2 was hours following new moon. Not sure how much the moons really matter...but I'm thinking maybe we should only BD when there is a girl moon? :giggle: Maybe dtd everyday of a girl moon until after O. Is that a crazy idea. So it would be like 2-3 days in a row, then 2 days off? (We tried O+12 for 2 months...and DH did abstain the first attempt for 12 days. The second time he did fequent release. But we didn't get preggers and we are too old to wait for this O+12 timing...I can't figure it out.)
Anyone else doing frequent BD??
HopeandDreamG
December 7th, 2011, 10:34 AM
Kitten~ Just saw your siggy CONGRATS...YAY
Yuzu~ I'm still getting negatives, Tried this am with cheapie didn't want to waste a FRER- will use one tomorrow with FMU because FF tells me AF is due and I could test.
Check out my temp its crazy high..and all negatives- I know its still early.
Ilindgurl~ WELCOME- there are some really good thread/stickies about 0+ vs. cutoff- especially addressing the age issue with 0+ not really being great. I don't really believe so much in the moon stuff- r u talking about moon signs or full moon vs. new moon? Theres nothing you can do about when you ovulate whether its in a new moon vs. a full moon. The fact that you conceived boys in the same moon probably speaks to the fact that you O a similar time each month and not much more then that! GL
Kitten
December 7th, 2011, 11:46 AM
HopeandDreamG - thanks!
What are you testing with? Still on the ICs? Maybe a brand name is called for... When I tested, the IC line was barely there, where as the + showed up almost right away and the digital showed "pregnant".
Welcome ILindGurl! Sorry I have no advice as I gave up my sway.

Yesterday I had what I suspected might be implantation bleeding at 5dpo, but I had more spotting today, and now I'm starting to think all this spotting (I spotted through O, then at 3dpo, and in the evening of 5dpo/morning of 6dpo) just means my m/c isn't complete yet :(. The only positive sign today was that my temp was slightly up. Here's my chart:

Thanks Mochagirl!
Have you had your HCG levels checked? Did they do an u/s follow up? And I'm sorry - I can't remember - did you have D&C or did you m/c naturally? I ask because the cycle after my D&C I spotted throughout my LP. I had no retained products of conception as they did both blood and an u/s to confirm.
Mochagirl
December 7th, 2011, 12:36 PM
Mine was a natural missed m/c at 11 weeks.
I last had my HCG checked just over 2 weeks ago, and it was at 12. I was still getting the faintest hint of a shadow on a FRER as of O--day, but it was so dim and only visible in certain light and particular angles so I'm hoping that meant HCG was well below the published FRER threshold of 10. I've had BFNs with FRERs yesterday and today with FMU (yes, I wasted 2 FRERs because I'm so paranoid that the m/c is still going on).
I did have an u/s one week after my m/c (so just over 2 weeks ago), and they found a 2.4" piece of tissue still there. The consensus was that I'd probably shed it on my own and I've bled a lot since then, so I'm hoping it's gone now.
Did you TTC your first cycle? How long after your m/c did af return?
Kitten
December 7th, 2011, 12:42 PM
Sounds like your levels are at 0. Maybe if you are concerned, go back to the doc and request another u/s and blood just to make sure.
We didn't TTC our first cycle. We actually waited 6 months as my HB wasn't really yet. My first cycle after the D&C was 40 days. I usually have a 26-27 day cycle.
Mochagirl
December 7th, 2011, 12:47 PM
My doctor offered me another u/s, but I couldn't face the prospect of going back to that place full of happy pregnant women until I'm pregnant again too. I went the day of my m/c then again a week later, and that was more than enough. I would have liked another blood test, but for some reason my doctor didn't offer me that.
Wow - you waited a long time before TTC. If you don't mind me asking, how far along were you?

Mochagirl - we were 13.5 weeks when we lost our sweet baby boy. I don't know if I posted here about it or not, but it was chromosomal - trisomy 18 - which was incompatible with life. We actually didn't miscarry, but interrupted the much wanted pg as the docs told us at 18-20 weeks babies start feeling pain and we wanted to spare our little guy any suffering that he would have absolutely had. Never in my life did I imagine that I would be in that situation and have to make a decision like we had to. There was no "right" decision - either way had the same ending. I posted about it on IG at the time. So you can see why it took so long for my HB to decide to TTC again. We are both absolutely terrified of something similar happening again but the genetic counselor told me that it's just my regular age related risk - no higher. Also why we are no longer swaying as when it came down to it, I would have given anything to take home my sweet baby boy. At least we were able to get hand/foot prints and his ashes are with me in my office at home. I plan on putting him with my mom (she passed 5 years ago), but I just haven't been able to let him go yet.
Is there no u/s place that you can go to that is just for routine u/s and don't specialize in maternity? The one in my doctor's office is like that - I don't think they do any pg u/s at all. Maybe you could ask him for a blood test? I can't imagine he would say no.
Thanks so much Indigoviolet!

I'm so sorry, kitten - that much have been so tough. :hug2:
I was under the care of a midwife when I had my m/c. She transferred my care to my family doctor after the m/c, and he has no obstectric training, so all the decisions we're making about my care are basically due to my own research and his brief phonecalls with a gyno consult. I'm sure if I went to the trouble of making an appointment to see him again and finding a babysitter for my kids so I could go, I could get another requisition for bloodwork, but 3 weeks post-m/c with only minor, sporadic spotting isn't atypical I think. If af doesn't come in another week or so, I might try to follow up with blood work, but for now I think I'm probably on track for a full recovery. My midwife didn't even think I needed aftercare after such an uncomplicated m/c - she thought I was crazy when I decided to keep my appointment for the emergency u/s she'd scheduled when my bleeding first started (it ended up being the morning after my m/c). The only reason I'm so frustrated is because the spotting makes my 2WW even more stressful than usual - I'm just impatient, that's all .

Thanks Mocha - it was by far the most difficult decision we have had to make and go through.
Aren't we all impatient!! I hope that if this cycle isn't it for you, that next cycle is smooth and results in a BFP!

Oh, Kitten...I'm so sorry. We sort of had a similar thing happen w/us. I wrote a blog here about it to try to help me heal and move on (I think you read it). She may have had a Trisomy 13 or 18 issue but the cord was what she passed away from so we were never faced w/that terrible decision. We are still unsure of whether or not there was a Trisomy issue but I suspect there was. We will never know, I guess. I am so sorry for your loss. I am thrilled that your little Rainbow baby is on it's way...:HH:

HopeandDreamG - thanks!
What are you testing with? Still on the ICs? Maybe a brand name is called for... When I tested, the IC line was barely there, where as the + showed up almost right away and the digital showed "pregnant".
Welcome ILindGurl! Sorry I have no advice as I gave up my sway.
Kitten~ I'm testing with the first response early results 13 dpo...Still negativetoday. I did wake up at 3am to Pee! and tested at 7pm when I woke up again. My LP has only been 11 or 12 days in the cycles I've tracked, no AF (FF predicted for today), temp high and I'm exhausted by late afternoon... To confuse matters though, I have Crohn's disease (like a severe IBS) mostly controlled by meds, usually I am under control and don't experience many symptoms. However, right now by intestines feel tender..which usually indicates inflammation which could be causing my temp to be high. My body could be working to fight off an infection. My temp was high though before I experienced the tenderness. So now I'm wondering if my symptoms are due to that :( and not pregnancy..or perhaps both??
Had a dream AF showed. Guess I'm trying to prepare myself. Anyone have any input?

Ladies, I need your thoughts, prayers, hopes...whatever right now. I had bright red bleeding, but now just brown spotting. I need it to stop! I also have some light cramps. Please pray that my baby is sticky.
HopeandDream~There's no reason it couldn't be both! But since your Crohn's is well controlled by meds, maybe the temps are due to pregnancy? You're not out til AF shows.

Hi ladies! I am 14 dpo and keep getting BFN. AF was due yesterday. To confuse matters I'm having a crohns flare (severe IBS). My only symptom is my intestines are tender. Every night I have a low grade fever so I'm not sure if maybe I am preggo and getting false negatives?? Gonna ask for a blood test before I start meds. I'll probably get antibiotics and to top it off diet has been crap for past week. Started perfectly again today.. Almost 12:30 and I haven't eaten yet. In waiting room I'll keep you all posted. Hoping I didn't ruin chances to even try for December. I did a little googling only like 10% chance I'm getting false negatives at this point!

Yuzu...How are you doing?
WHen is everyone attempting?
Do you think it is taking some of us longer bc we are older? I want to get more aggressive so I have to go for it.
Anyone else doing the same?
I am still perplexed about the rephresh. I think I have drop another sway tactic.
RIght now I have dropped diet, rephresh, timing...hahha, what happened to my sway...lol!
Should we try a roll call to get caught up?
LEMON: cd 5,...waiting to o on cd 14
PLAN: trying to get back on the diet, supplements of vitex only maybe, represh 2-3 days before first attempt, release dh then attempt #2, attempt #3 after o or on o day?
Still working through it,.....all I know is I need sperm in there close to o and I need to stay ready for anything!

Hi Lemon, I'm feeling okay, thanks so much :D
I'm on CD 2 (approximately) and I'm not sure when I'm going to O because my cycle may be totally messed up. Sometime around Christmas I think.
Plan: I'm on no supplements except for Folic Acid, and I've sort of abandoned the diet, though I am still careful to keep my protein low. I'm doing some relaxation and meditation in hopes to keep my body healthy. I'm not going to mess with timing at all; it's too stressful. And I'm not going to POAS until 14dpo so that I don't have another repeat of this last cycle. Chemical pregnancies suck.

Hi everyone!
I am cd 6 and still undecided on my bd attempt.
Definitely not true to diet but only bc I ate a lot last night. I skip breakfast and sometimes lunch but I eat tons of yogourt...so, not really true what diet that is. I still eat chicken but not really any red meat...maybe on occasion.
I am taking vitex and folic acid.
Hobbermittens....isn't it funny that we all bd at the same time for different genders? I will o on Monday..you?
Are you abstaining or do you have a sway plan? What do you eat on your diet?
Will you try more than one attempt? I know with DS 1 I was mostly every other day and last attempt was morning of super positive OPK.
DS 2 was late at night either one or two days before o. One time attempt as we had an 11 mos old.
Yuzu.....Christmas is a good time to bd....lol!
I think the relaxation is a good technique for me to learn.
Hopefully the little bean takes next time!!!
I am the world's worst swayer!
I just need to get pregnant so I am trying to decide how often to dtd. What do you think?
Kitten...how is the infection? I am not sure if this is true but is that a sign of gender? I had read many women with UTI have a girl!!! At least there is a possible positive to your infection???
Mocha...how are you? Do you know for sure your levels? Are you doing okay?
Today we are taking the boys skating downtown!

MOCHAGIRL: CD2, waiting to O between CD13 and 16 (December 22nd-25th) (but hopefully earlier!)
PLAN: LE diet (will be 6 weeks on it post-m/c when I O), Vitex, antihistamine around O-time, lots of aspartame around O-time, compressed frequent BD starting hopefully around 2-3 days before O then BDing through O, POSSIBLY rephresh - but only a tiny bit if I do use it, POSSIBLY Baby Aspirin, but not until I stop af since this is a pretty nasty, heavy period already and I've had bruising issues in the past with Baby Aspirin. I'm also drinking red raspberry leaf tea and peppermint tea.
Hoping for a New Year's Day BFP!!!!

So my blood test was negative. BOOOOO and worse news I can't even ttc for December.... I'll be the
:cheerteam: because I am totally having a Crohn's flare and need to get the flare under control so I can TTC for January's cycle... I'm really MAD I can't believe how long I waited to even ttc after the loss, my Due date will be here in Jan and I'm not even preggo. Just annoyed. My temp was due to the Crohns, and its still up like a low grade fever and I am in pain. My exhaustion was also due to the Crohns. What a tease!!! Now I am taking a steroid - which sways blue. Hoping to get off it, get back to diet strict and be ready for January. Start a new year fresh!!

ladybug - looks like you and I are cycle buddies - I'm 2dpo I think (though I could be 3dpo depending whether that first day of heavy red spotting was CD1).
Thanks for all your kind words, ladies - I really am ok about af coming. The more I spotted last cycle the more I thought maybe I didn't want to be pregnant right away if that's how the whole thing started - the last thing I need after my loss is a stressful early pregnancy full of spotting. I'm hoping that once af leaves I won't spot anymore, and I an have a normal 2WW without having to enter spotting into FF for pretty much every day.
O is just over a week away - that doesn't seem to far at all. My body's already used to the diet again. I can do this.

lemon - absolutely no sway whatsoever except taking Vitex as it really tightened up my O date. Man, I don't know if it is a sign of gender, but that infection really knocked me off my feet. I was bedridden all yesterday running a fever. Luckily it was only really high for about an hour before tylenol got it under control. It's so odd - came on so fast.

Hello, I'm a little late to the party but found this thread when I was searching for something else. I wanted to write a little bit about being older age for a first time pregnancy in my general intro, but it seemed a little tmi. Seems fine here though lol I am 37 and working towards trying to conceive. I am getting a late start due to having a ridiculously long off and on college career in between jobs that I could barely support myself on, let alone a family. I am still putting it off a bit because I am waiting for medical benefits to kick in and a time limit on pregnancy for my short term disability policy. Oh not to mention a state exam to take which I want to do before the so called pregnancy brain I have heard of kicks in Probably won't really get started ttc until late spring early summer. This will give me time to chart my cycle well and get started swaying! I know I should and I will be grateful just to conceive, but I have always wanted a girl, plus I already have two stepsons from hubby's 1st marriage. Not to mention, I have been a nanny and always for families with only boys in my 20s and all of my pets have been male. Everyday I remind myself that any baby will be a gift, plus I can always try again ;). Well thank you for listening to me ramble ladies. I have enjoyed reading all of your stories.

I am cd 8 and trying to decide on what attempt to make this month. Truly I am tired of trying so I hope whatever we do works!
kitten...what did you do? many attempts? on o day?

lemon - We just went with the flow and ended up with an O-2 and about an O+8 (or thereabouts). The only thing I am anxious about is a healthy baby although I do have a feeling it will be another boy though, but I'm aok with that. Since we are probably going straight to CVS I'll find out gender around 12 weeks. I took 400mg of Vitex (1 pill) per day all cycle long since March. It gave me an O date of predictably cd13 or cd14.
Hope you get your BFP quickly prettyinpink.

It sounds very girly to me! Why would you think it is another boy?
Did you FR at all?
I feel like I am going to o with the classic day 14..so just trying to decide, but in the end, I do want to get pregnant.
Your due date would have been mine last month if I was successful:(

lemon - I just feel my hb and I only make boys! I'm not sure if HB did FR - I guess it's possible but it would have been one of those "man" things! lol!!
CVS is a test where they take a tiny sample of the placenta and from there they can test for chromosomal issues and many other things as well.

Sweet sister....I wonder if I have noticed the same thing...from 8 to 9 dpo until around 11 or 12 and then back to af feelings. Maybe they are not sticking!
I am cd 9...what to do!
Did you dtd on o day? Still nothing!!!
COnsidering it is a 10% chance every month I am surprised we sway so much.....especially over 35:(
I guess I better get going!
Why did you start cd 10?
I may o on cd12 or 14...the vitex is screwing me up. It seems odd as I only take it during the 2 week of af to o.
Did you take it?
I think I was trying both ig diet and le...most days I am careful but I think I sneak and cheat more than I used to...and Christmas is coming!
Sorry about BFN......it should have worked! Still hoping for you!

We leave mid-day on the 22nd. The earliest I've ever gotten O is CD13, which is on the 22nd. Now, it's possible I'm actually on CD6 today since the only real reason I'm not counting my first day of red bleeding as CD1 is because I still had a high temp that day. If that's the case, I COULD ovulate on the 21st, which would be fantastic. However, in the past I've also O'd as late as cd16 (including 2 of the times I conceived), so the worst case scenario is I'll O on the 26th, which means I'll have 4 days of cheating on the diet leading up to it + the logistical nightmare of how to dtd with dh when we're sharing a bedroom with all 3 kids.

mocha...this is not getting any easier for you!
I am sorry this is getting even more cofusing for you....I can barely figure when I o...and I am usually fairly certain after the fact.
I am trying to figure out if I should go ahead tonight or if I am too far away!
I read too many boy sways that follow my plan!
That being said, I really cannot do this anymore! I need to get pregnant and end the swaying aspect of things.
Everyone said I would have three boys....so why bother right!
ugh!
And the diet! I truly am not doing well.
I need to enjoy my kids that I have and not worry about what I eat. I feel like I am missing out on them bc I am so worried about conceiving a girl!
I think it is hard with work right now though.
We will have to figure things out for you....

You weren't around last summer when I had a similar situation. I O'd while at my family cottage, sharing a room with all 3 kids, and staying in our tiny, rustic cottage with my parents and one of my brothers and his family. We managed to make things work that cycle, though it was stressful and unpleasant and I still didn't get my BFP.
This time it's actually not as bad. We'll be sleeping in the finished basement, which has its own bathroom. If worse comes to worse, dh and I can dtd in there while the kids are sleeping. Again, not exactly comfortable or ideal, but at least we won't be upstairs with my MIL in the next room!

Hi ladies.. haven't posted here in a few days. I'm feeling MUCH MUCH better. GOing to doc next Friday for my crohns flare. I will be off antibiotic and Hopefully next Friday the 23rd I can start coming off the steroid. I am trying to look at this as an opportunity to do the diet really strict. Been doing great so far and hope to stick to it until my attempt in January.
Kitten~ How are you feeling, Kidney infection gone? I had the CVS too, doc had to insert the needle twice bc she wasn't in the right place. I was crying the entire time (emotional pain not physical). I truly cannot believe I had to experience that. How early are you going to do it. Are you doing it even if your bloods come back normal?
Indigo~ How are you doing with the attempt? Your close right?
Mocha~ Hope you have a good time away. Maybe with the constraints the baby swaying sex can be spicy!!! LOL

Hi everyone,
lots of news!
Yeah mocha....clear bill for this month!
Hope..I am so glad you are feeling better:)
OOTB...what did your temp do?
ladybug...a few more days to go!!!!
So, now I am confused....did the vitex really screw anyone up?
I am cd 10 and I have had lots of CM for two days now.
My temp went up today but not unusua and I am sick....I would have to wait to see it go up and stay up.
My CBFM says low still but the lh seemed darker on cd 8 than it does today...only had two opk sticks and both are negative...what is going on? I have major o pains and that is typical for me. I usually feel it quite postively around o for several days. I have had burning ovarian pain and aches etc. Usually I get them 2-3 days in advance. I just cannot imagine I have this much cm and no o!
We dtd last night,...cd 9 and debating it again.
My ovucue says i will o on cd 11 or 12...so, really I am due to o anyday.
Should I leave with one time attempt with abstinence (how we got ds2 lol) or dtd again.
I cannot help but believe in timing...still, after all of this!
I am so confused!
And, I am worried bc EVERYONE here did FR! ugh!

Okay…I guess it’s official. I’ve O’ed and it was on the 13th, the 1st day of my +OPK. I’m now 3dpo. I think copious amounts of RepHresh canceled out all that action we got but I’ll be having a nice cheat day on Christmas regardless of the outcome!!!

Yuzu, I’m so sorry…You are in my T&Ps ::HH: I hear you on that “Darn Girl Diet”!!! I am sooooo hungry right now, I want to eat my tea cup!!! Hang in there...you are sooo not alone!

YAY, LadyBug!!! UGH, that 2ww always drives me mad! 7dpo now for you so you don’t have much longer to wait hopefully! When do you think you’ll test???
Kitten, that’s crazy about getting +OPKs 4dpo! I usually get +OPKs leading up to O but this one is a weird one for me…As long as I O’ed, I’m thankful! Give your belly a sweet little rub...:HH:
Lemon, Vitex has been known to make your normal cycles crazy or your crazy cycles normal. Don’t worry too much if your cycle is off…cycles which are a bit off may be an indication you’re swaying pink. You were asking if you should just leave it at one attempt or BD again…well, you probably already know I’ m a BD all the time girl so I would say go for it again, especially if you’re really anxious to get preg. I also don’t believe in timing at all and think it’s best for everyone to BD around O. Just my :twocents:
SweetSis, will you be going for it again here in a few wks or taking a break? I say GO FOR IT! For Christmas stocking ideas, I usually try to find cheap, little things like crayons, etc. It may be worth taking a trip to one of those “Dollar Store” type places b/c sometimes they have a few interesting things in there (not always!!!). Our Target stores usually have an end aisle w/$ store-like toys and they can be good sometimes too!
Mocha, come on early O!!!!! We need this little girl to get in your belly so you can have a nice BFP for NYs!!! :cheer:

And i think i tried all i could last time but now i recall i didnt have a period like usual it was very light which never happens so maybe the diet did some damage ,so now i had a heavy one this time and after eating off the diet in the 2ww i think im o.k. this cycle i will do an attempt and starting LE diet now,im going to DTD more though i dont beleive in timing so well try every second day as long as i can ,after the 3rd time its more like work LOL,n ive had enough!

Thx, Lemon. I really want to post here more often but my boys are pretty demanding sometimes. I have to watch our Christmas tree like a hawk b/c they can't keep their hands off of it and although it's new (a fake one), it looks a bit dishoveled every time I walk into the living room...
Regarding when you BD, I was just like you early last spring...I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that timing doesn't really matter and that it's diet and other things that really do. I got so stressed out and changed my sway literally every day. Finally stuff started to sink in and I was able to let go of a lot of things and find some peace w/the decisions I made. No matter what, you've got to find peace w/what you do. I don't know if my words help but I'm wishing you the best of luck, Lemon. I want to hear that you're knocked up ASAP, lol!

I still wonder about the rephresh? Did you use the whole applicator?
Sweet sister,

What exactly are you eating that changed your cycle so much? Did you take any supplements as well?
I agree...bding a lot is a chore!lol!
Will dh release in btween? Will you dtd on o day as well?
I hope it works....the diet is going to be hard over Christmas so that is the first to go for me. Although, I am not sure I am really on it now anyway. I usually eat low sodium but this week being sick I have had a lot of soups!
We eat a lot of pasta but the other night DH might a chicken stufffed with ricotta cheese! Oh, and cheese....I still eat some. Same with bread...!

lemon - We just went with the flow and ended up with an O-2 and about an O+8 (or thereabouts).

I honestly don't think timing it important lemon...I ended up with a 1 day cut off...I got my positive OPK and did 2 attempts...Thats what I did the last time I got pregnant in Aug unfortunately that ended in an ectopic....I tried the same timing this month and we should find out if it worked in a few days as I am 8dpo :)....Good Luck

Lets see Lemon, i did the IG diet and i stuck to it like my life depended on it...im a bit OCD so i probably went overboard and then last cycle i started LE diet which i felt much better on ,but i think i need to eat more calories i wasnt eating enough and thats probably caused me to not have a period i think it was jut my lining it wasnt heavy enough for a real AF.
And i took cranberry and folic until last cycle i switched to spirin and folic acid thats it!
And DH wil release in between days and we will dtd on O day if it falls on it im not concerned about it,maybe because im older also if i dont dtd on that day i wont conceive cause it could be i ovulate in 1 day so im not taking any chances.
When is your attempt?

DH fills a stocking up for me - though it's always a lot less throughtfully filled than mine is for him (e.g. candy I don't even like - and pretty much all stuff he bought in one store on one last minute trip. One year he even put stuff in he'd bought while out with the kids - luckily they were only 3 at the time and didn't notice, but I had to remind him that Santa is supposed to be the one who fills my stocking, not him!

Hey sweet sister!
I am cd 13 and still waiting to o....I was sick this week so my temp was up all week and threw me off!
We started dtd on cd 9 and today is cd 13. So far we have had 4 attempts and will probably take a break!
My cbfm says low....! ugh!
That month I od on cd 11 or 12 so I was fully getting ready:(
I read that bding consecutive days up to o swayed girl:)
I am hoping I still o this month.....it can be very stressful and not much fun...I am tired after 4 days...lol
When will you attempt?
PS: the diet is not my thing...I eat the same as the kids but we do eat low sodium, no red meat, a lot of pasta as well as chicken and rice.
Hope this is enough!
Oh, ss will you use any product to lower ph?
I am not sure if I can be concerned about it...,my ph is always high!

Congrats Lady Bug!! Great to hear BFP news!
Lemon~ Sounds like your attempt is going well.
I'm going to doc tomorrow, I never went for follow up after loss where they could do a scan bc AF showed right before visit. since I'm out this month figured I'd go for a visit! Concentrating on diet right now bc thats the only thing I can do. Of course, now that the Crohns flare is under control I have a cold UGH....
In stockings we do army men, cars, small toys, maybe even a movie, some candy!! Never heard of the orange thing-I'm in the U.S.

I'm doing well, thanks, HopeandDream. I had what I hope was my last follow-up post-m/c last week. Blood tests came back with no HCG, now I'm just waiting to hear about the u/s. Right now I'm just biding my time until I O, which will hopefully be in a few days. We leave for Nova Scotia on Thursday and are there a full week.

Kitten,
Where did you buy your vitex? Mine is only 80 mg.
Lemon - I got it at a local health food store, but this is the brand I used. I also ordered it from them the last time as I had a credit on my account. Where are you located?
Nature's Way, Vitex, Fruit, 400 mg, 100 Capsules - iHerb.com (http://www.iherb.com/Nature-s-Way-Vitex-Fruit-400-mg-100-Capsules/2053?at=0)
