Lemon - I got it at a local health food store, but this is the brand I used. I also ordered it from them the last time as I had a credit on my account. Where are you located?
Nature's Way, Vitex, Fruit, 400 mg, 100 Capsules - iHerb.com (http://www.iherb.com/Nature-s-Way-Vitex-Fruit-400-mg-100-Capsules/2053?at=0)
That's the exact same type I use too, lemon. You should be able to find it in a health food store.

OOTB, how did you get pregnant the last time? I am sorry if it is hard to talk about but I was wondering if you tried to do the same thing?
I still wonder about the rephresh? Did you use the whole applicator?
Lemon, I started actively TTC in June. I had been sort of on the IG diet from the end of March to May and then switched to the LE diet. In June, I ended up not even getting an O so of course I wound up w/a BFN. I decided to take the next month off b/c DH was going out of town when I was to O and I wanted a little break on the diet so I could come back and hit it really hard in Aug. We BD 9 days before O and then again at 7 days before O. Somehow, I got preg from a 7 day cut-off, NO JOKE! It’s in my charts (in my sig below). We used Sylk and nothing else. I can’t remember if it was a J&D or not. DH and I are still trying to wrap our brains around how we got that BFP but somehow we did.
For this last attempt, it was very difficult to gauge how much RepHresh was coming out. I really dislike those applicators! I would squeeze the end all the way down thinking that was all of the RepHresh but then realized that there was a lot more left in the tube and the only way to get it out was to squeeze the middle of the tube. I usually ended up squeezing the normal end and then the next day, would squeeze the remaining gel inside my Va-JJ. Not really an exact science but I know I used an ample amount very frequently. There were a few days in that long string of BD that I did not use any RepHresh but for the most part, it was my morning ritual.
I know ootb is busy but does anyone know if she had DH release in the morning and then she bd in the evening? Just wondering what to tell DH!
Lemon, I had DH start to release on CD2 and then we started BD on CD9. DH only released 1x a day, sometimes by himself, sometimes in me. His last day of release (which was in me) was CD19. FF is now saying I O’ed on CD20 so if that’s the case, we didn’t BD through O unfortunately… Until this weekend, FF was saying I O’ed 2 days earlier (CD18) on the 13th. I’m really not feeling like this will end in a BFP for me so I’ll be rethinking my RepHresh strategy but we’ll still do a lot of BD, especially close to O. As you know, Lemon, I don’t believe in timing for gender at all but I do believe in timing for getting knocked up, lol. :p

Hey everyone!
So, this am I had a peak on my cbfm. Of course it went from low to peak. I am upset bc we did not bd last night! In fact we even argued over it. I should have gone with my gut!
So, I may be missing the egg!!!!!!!
I also used too much rephresh bc I thought I had more time to get some real bds in there before I od.
Now I have 0-2 with rephresh! 0-3 and a bit, 0-4 and 0-5. But, I was using rephresh to keep my ph down.
I wonder if I can even get pregnant with that stuff!
To top it off, bc of all the releasing in between Dh could not dtd this am...right before o.
I guess I will try tonight but now I am clearly boy zone and sad bc I did not get as many attempts in!
UGH!
I should have trusted my gut!
MOCHA! Don't wait go for it!
OOTB..thanks for the info!
Looks like you should have kept bcing...lol!
Did you use the rephresh around the time you dtd or always in the am? I actually used it just before and a bit after so clearly I screwed it all up!
Hopefully we can try again tonight if it is not too late.
I cannot go by my temps....I am still high since last Wednesday!
Any advice?
Should I wait for the Ew to go away? I have a lot but I actually had to use rephresh as a lubey this am for dh...lol, it was the only thing I could think of bc dh could not even do much. I had 5 minutes before I had to leave for work and the kids were running.
Oh, I so wish we dtd last night...grr!
Mocha, will you try o plus at all?
Or o plus 1 day?
auroara78
December 19th, 2011, 04:19 PM
Lemon, there are as many, if not MORE baby girls concieved on O day than boys! I would DTD tonight anyway, and maybe even tomorrow AM! Maybe use a little bit more rephresh if you're worried.
I don't believe that timing sways boy or girl anymore at all, rather our environment and diet, etc.....I have heard and seen too many baby girls that were concieved on O day to believe that O day matters anymore...and I was scared to death prevously of O day!
Mochagirl
December 19th, 2011, 05:04 PM
I agree with auroara, lemon - dtd tonight and every night until you get your temp spike to show that O has happened. That's what I'd do in your place, anyway....

Thanks Auroara and Mochagirl!
We tried this am...and DH had problems....I am not even sure it is an option.
There is just nothing coming out....does that happen to any of your DHs?
So, now I am worried I will miss the egg!
I already used too much rephresh...mocha...how much did you use when you figured you used too much? Do you think it matters if you used it right before bding?
I cannot rely on my temp...it has been over 98 everyday since last Wednesday...I really am sick. I had a hard time at work today and sounded funny.
I am taking sinutab all the time as well for sinus. I cannot hear through my ears!
Is sinus meds good for swaying at least? There is no cough suppressant which sways boy.
Do you check ph with the paper stripes? I have used those and they do seem to show a rise when we bd. It is fairly low now with the rephresh.
Thanks girls!
Mocha...are you on for tonight???
auroara? are you bding on christmas???
I think I have a problem bc every single website provides a calendar with timing on it 2-3 days before o. It is crazy!
When you say a little bit more rephresh...what does that mean?
Hope, how was the docs???

Hi! Just got in from doc- he prescibed me Clomid and then something else to then build the uterine lining back up. He wants me to come back for follicle check next month when I get AF, and he will do I think a trigger injection. Ummm Wow.. kinda wanted to ask for this and didn't have to- he asked my age (36) and said as long as I was OK with the possibility of twins we should get this going. I'm really excited actually.
I asked about the supps and clomid and he felt there was no problem/no contraindications- I think Atomic had something on here about vitex and/or saw palmetto being a problem with clomid. I'll have to search around or start a thread.
Any thoughts on this??

WOW, Hope...that is great that you are well on your way!
What was the reason for the clomi? Is your uterine wall not thick enough? Twins! oh woweee...!
So exciting!
If the doc says it is okay..well, I guess I trust docs more than I should but it sounds good to me!!

Hope - so glad you had a good appointment. That's so exciting to have the wheels in motion like that! I think you're right about one of the supps not being good with Clomid - I'm thinking Vitex, but you should check the essay to make sure.
Lemon - I don't think DH has ever not been able to produce anything, but there've been several times he hasn't been able to finish the job because he's too tired. I've thought about what to do tonight and I think we'll dtd because these O pains are stronger than I've ever had them. I did end up using rephresh - just now actually - but I panicked when more came out of the applicator than I intended - maybe 1/2 tube. Now we're only about 2 hours or so from our attempt, so I'm afraid the rephresh is going to kill all the sperm. Since we've already done 6 days of frequent release and dh is 37 and I don't think has a super high sperm count to begin with anymore, I don't think I'm going to have him release before our attempt - I think I want his sperm at better than absolute minimum count in order to get through all that rephresh I squirted up there. I hope I'm not making a decision I'll regret later!

Ladybug I am sooo sorry. It must be really deflating and make time stand still or take forever...!
Hopefully you feel better and that you can enjoy the holidays and look forward to a sticky NY baby!
Sweet sister,,,I think we have to let a lot go to get pregnant. It is what it is!
I bd twice on what I tought was o day....but, then again it might have been 0-6 hours...,lol, but not technically the same day. I have to figure out if I can muster enough energy to try again.
I have so much to do!
I got a peak on my cbfm yesterday...usually o day but today I still have o symptoms and EW.
That would not be unusual but I got my cheapie OPK in the mail (I had run out days ago) and it is super super dark!
Does anyone have experience with the super dark OPKs? Does that mean am on top of o?
Should I go again...ugh!
It is just not much fun.....anyone with advice would be great!
Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the New year and the Holidays!

Hello,
Looks like this thread is pretty quiet!

Any BFP? ANy attempts?
Just wondering...how hard is it to get pregnant at 38? I am getting worried!!!!
Especially with all this swaying.

December 28th, 2011, 01:23 PM
Happy birthday, lemon!!! Yes, we'll definitely have a harder time getting pregnant that we did when we were younger, but I think if you've been fertile in the past, you should still be able to get knocked up, even with the swaying - it just might take a little longer. Personally, I'm running out of patience. If I don't get my BFP this month, the rephresh will be the first to go, but I'm going to try to keep up with the diet since I've invested soooo much time into it and managed to get pregnant while on it before.

Hey everyone, I haven't been posting in this thread too much because it seems like I am the only over 35 boy swayer! Anyway, I have had 2 BFNs so far, and I am thinking it IS harder to get pg when you are 38 (I just turned 39 :suprise:). I am hoping the new year is better for all of us! I would love an October baby, so I have my FX that January is a good fertile month for me!
I hope the new year brings lots of BFPs!! :)

I haven't been posting too much lately because I'm trying not to concentrate so much on swaying. I was getting to the point where all I was thinking about was a BFP. I'm in the 2WW, and I want it to go fast...but it's not, of course!
Mochagirl
December 28th, 2011, 05:27 PM
Probably a good move to stay away a bit, Yuzu. Sometimes I wonder if the 2WW wouldn't be quite so painfully long if I wasn't online constantly obsessing over symptoms and charts.
I also know that immediately after my loss I was just so impatient to be pregnant again that the 2WW seemed longer and worse than usual. I really hope you get your BFP! :HH:

According to my Mom, she didn't do anything different to have me. She was older by then, though (33 - which seems young to me, but she started having babies at 23), and I think she was probably a little thinner from running after 3 young boys.
I didn't use much rephresh. I used 1/3-1/2 tube 3 times, with the last application about 3 days before O. If I don't get my BFP this month I'll probably drop it completely next month.

lemon - dh and I dtd every day starting 6 days before O and ending 1 day before O (I would have liked to get one more attempt in, but DH was done at that point - esp after releasing daily for 6 days before we started our attempts). I used rephresh 9 days before ), 6 days before O and 3 days before O - only a little each time, and always in the morning, about 12 hours before our attempt. Hi ladies!
So I post convinced by the spotting and cramping I am done for this month.
However, I have really really sore boobs! What do you think?
They actually hurt every morning I woke up for three days and now they are sore to touch...I think I ovulated on the 19th and today is the 1st!
I stopped temping so I have no idea what my temp is right now.
Do you think I have a good chance at a girl with two attempts on o day????
Hope everyone is having a good New Years Day!
We have enjoyed chips and dip, cheesies, and so many treats that we never never eat!!! So, I guess if I am not pg then this month's diet is going to be hard!!!

Lemon - that's exciting! I think you have a GREAT chance at a BFP! As you know, I don't believe in timing, so I think you have a great chance at a girl as well! Have you tested yet?? You're 13 dpo, right? TEST!!!!

Thanks ladybug...that's really nice to hear because everytime I search for charts that look like mine on FF, I get practically no BFP charts, and it's bringing me down.

Mocha - just checks out your chart I think it looks great! Don't need the implantation dip to get a bfp.
And I agree- lemon --- TEST. Maybe this is your month
Ladybug- good luck with your attempt my opk came early in November. If totally threw me off. Ultimately it didn't make a difference.

Good luck ladybug!
Thanks Lemon!!! I sure hope a chemical sways girl! I hope age really helps too :)

Ladybug, are you sure you od already?
Are you still trying to bd?
I have no tests!!!!!!!! lol!
My temp is 98.8 though.
I understand the logic that timing does not matter....but I think it does...I can't help it. So, of course I am nervous about possibly being pg with the bding I did.
My bbs are still sore and I am cd 14 I think.
I guess I will know tomorrow!
Mocha...I think if you have a temp it most likely results in pregnancy but very few pregnancies have a temp dip at all!
When are you testing?

I am pretty sure I O'd today. I had +opk all day yesterday and - this morning. I have had cramping today on the left side. I really hope there is an egg. There is no way to know with only 1 tube. Dh have done freq bedding for the past 6 days. I really wasn't expecting to O this early! It was just for fun. :). Will do 1 more attempt tomorrow. I am so relaxed which is not normal for me and also I had no ewcm at all. Just creamy. Whatever will be will be!

Hi ladies ,well im at cd 22,no idea when i ovulated im guessing that im 7dpo?Anyways i did a FRER yesterday hoping i might have oed early? It was neg but i swear it had a slight shadowy pencil line for a minute lol!Omg these tests are making me so obsessed..so now i have one more frer i should wait until sunday i guess.
Im not too positive though , i had more symptoms last 2 bfn cycles ,i had flutters but now there gone and i have no symptoms at all!!
I am totally off the diet only not eating breakfast still.
These last few days before testing are definately THE hardest !

January 5th, 2012, 03:41 PM
Hi Ladies,
Took a FRER this morning and it came back BFN. Boo. I'm 11dpo and it feels as though AF might start today. If she does come, I think I may take two cycles off (end of Jan and end of Feb) just to give myself a break from thinking about this every, single, solitary day. I know that time is not on my side here, but I need at least a month to feel better about getting pregnant. I may also stop swaying so intensely, because obviously my fertility isn't what it used to be and doing things like making my CM even slightly hostile could be preventing my chances of getting pregnant at all.

I try to relax, but halfway through the day I think, maybe I should POAS? For instance, I just tested again. Still negative! But I still don't have AF.

January 7th, 2012, 10:40 PM
Lemon, try not to stress too much. If you still aren't pregnant in a few months I guess you can cut out some of the swaying elements, and see if that helps. As for me, still no AF, still BFN. I have no idea what's going on! It's a good thing I have a bunch of tests, because it feels like I'm testing every five minutes.

Has anyone ever missed their period (anovulatory cycle?) or just had a very light spotting instead of full AF? I'm starting to fear that I didn't actually ovulate in December bec my AF is not normal, just very light pinkish when I wipe on the toilet paper....nothing on the maxipads. Anyone experience that before? It's the second day and still not normal AF...freaking me out a little.

Yes i have had 2 cycles like that wait a bit and see mine was very light like u describe first 2 days and then med flow but only lasted 4 days and for me im usually 7 days ,very heavy, but i chalk it down to the diet and i really dont know if mine was just light due to the stress of the diet or i didnt ovulate?I still have no clue why?

I have 2 kids with birthdays a week apart, and I won't lie to you, it sucks. Also, I don't know if this means anything, but they are both the same gender, conceived in the same month of the year. Maybe that is a coincidence, but to me I feel that I can only make girls in July.

I was really happy about it, except that FF says I O'ed on CD12 and I really think I O'ed on CD13. If I O'ed on CD13, then I am pleased with my timing, but if I O'ed when FF says, I think the timing was terrible. :( I guess as long as I get a boy, who cares, right? :)
If you haven't been doing your diet, then you should definitely wait until Feb. The diets are hard to stick to, aren't they? I like the food on the boy diet, but the having to eat ALL THE TIME is killing me!

If I hadn't lost my angel baby, I would have had ALL 4 kids' birthdays within 1.5 months. I would have had ds1&2 on May 11th, my angel sometime around June 4th, and ds3 on June 25th. Although I would give anything to have my angel back, that would have been such a marathon! I was also concerned because I had conceived all my boys in early Fall and figured since that baby was conceived at the same time it would be bound to be a boy as well. I'll never know if my instincts on that were right.

Hi ladies!
Sweet sister...did you skip this month?
I was thinking the same thing...but I just turned 38. We are taking a trip when I would be 10 weeks pg if we try this month and I am getting anxious.
I am doing the diet so I am not sure I want to waste it but I have a lot of cheat moments!
Not sure what to do,.....getting older is a concern.
However, I feel like I have been running my life for my future child instead of the ones I have!
Auroara,....yeah for the baby and yeah for being 34..hahahah!lucky!
What to do?
I am cd 9 and due to ovulate on cd 14 most likely!
Advice?
Hope you are all well!

Enjoy the time off Yuzu,,..it will happen..for all of us I hope!

did any of you get pregnant right after a chemical/miscarriage? So it turns out that I did get pregnant last month, but it didn't stick (dr confirmed). I'm suppose to get another blood test monday just to confirm the levels are back down...which I feel confident they are since I finally stopped bleeding, BFN on HPT and I'm starting to get EWCM today. If the blood test is good Monday, then should we go for it?? I *should* ovulate next week although I'm not sure if that will be affected by everything that happened. We're not swaying at all. No diet...no supplements...no special timing....no refresh, nothing. I really don't care anymore, esp after the chemical...I will be happy with either gender! Anyone else ttc the month after a miscarriage/chemical? and what was your experience (good or bad)? Thanks!!
Mochagirl
January 14th, 2012, 12:43 PM
My experience was likely very different than what yours will be, but I'll share anyway. I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks (fetus likely died 6-8 weeks). After a lot of research I decided it would be safe to try right away. I thought I'd stop bleeding before O arrived, so I wasn't really monitoring, then suddenly, about 2 weeks after my m/c, I noticed my cervix was softening and started testing and BDing right away. I never really stopped spotting - there were periods of the day when there would be no blood, but there was almost always some blood at some point during the day. My cervix stayed open with TONS of blood-tinged ewcm for days. I never got a +OPK, but eventually FF determined an O-date based on a temperature rise. I spotted through almost my entire LP, which was very frustrating, then af arrived early, finally putting me out of my misery since I figured there was no way I could have gotten pregnant with all that spotting anyway.
The good news is, I got pregnant the very next cycle! I think my body just wasn't ready to be pregnant immediately after my m/c, but again - your experience will be very different from mine since yours was a chemical. Good luck!

Hi ladies,
I'm still up and wanted to say hello to you all. Do we have a tally of who is 35+ and has a BFP? Things happen so fast it hard to keep up sometimes.
I've only been taking a break for a little bit, but it is awesome. I didn't realize how much of my time I spent reading about and planning my sway. I even ate breakfast for the first time in months (it was just a small brekkie, but still). I'm feeling good and getting my spirit back.

Hi all - sorry I have been MIA. I had a missed miscarriage (baby passed at 6w5d, found out at 8 wks - confirmed at 9w) and just had a D&C on Friday. My HCG levels were still through the roof (86000) so it would have been a while before my body actually caught on.
Kitten, I am so sorry. :(

Hi ladies,
I'm still up and wanted to say hello to you all.
I hope you are all doing okay and feeling good.
Yuzu, glad your break is doing you well. xxoo

Mocha - had I not had an early dating u/s then I probably would have found out at 11/12 weeks as well. With my levels being so high, I'm sure I would have still be "pg" but not "pg" at that time.
I'm doing ok. As I said to Lemon, my head tells me enough is enough and just to stop trying, but my heart tells me something considerably different.

Hi,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I recently turned 40 and realized that it's now or never. I have 3 boys ages 13, 11 and 8. I had always planned to try for the girl, but for a while I went through a phase of "maybe if I try hard enough I can forget my dream and move on." 8 years later and I still feel like I'm walking around with this secret, trying to hide my feelings from everyone.
My youngest DS was a Shettles opposite, plus I did a high cal/mag, low sod/pot diet and vinegar douche. He was conceived in the Summer on the full moon (looking back all my boys were conceived in full moon phases). My diet, although strict in minerals, was high in nutrients, eg. I ate salt-free sprouted grain bread, low salt turkey and chicken, high-nutrient veggies, a lot of salt-free butter and didn't lose much weight.
So... this time I think I will go LE and try to BD on O day (I really believe in O+12, but I wonder if I could even get pg that way at my age, all my others were conceived the first month of trying, but that was years ago). I really think the moon affects me, I always get more emotional, etc. around the full moon, so I am going to try to avoid BD near full moon. I also want to get my & DH's testosterone down, DH is competitive cyclist who acts and looks 10 years younger than he is... I think his T is through the roof.
I'm going to start the diet Monday, and TTC in early April.
I'm glad to be here among other women who understand! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Forgot to add...
I am starting to feel left out in my own family... can any other boy moms relate to this? I was so involved when it was all about Thomas the Tank Engine and Legos, but now every weekend family time is all about sports, playing football or soccer at the park, watching it on TV, going to dirt bike or cycling races, etc. Oh, and camping. I realize camping is a gender-neutral activity, but I only do it to please my family.
My husband wanted boys so badly (he's very into sports) and he is so lucky! I love my boys and would never trade them... well you've heard this all before.
Thanks for listening

Hi HopeandDreamG,
It is so different isn't it. Even though our DHs got their DG, I still wonder if a daughter would love me the way these boys of mine love me. There is just something so strong and sweet about our bond and the way they look at me (still, even my oldest at 13!). My boys are such lovable little monkeys as well. DS1 will be five in Oct and he still loves cuddling up to me when he's tired or just gives me random hugs. I love when he rubs my head sometimes out of nowhere, real loving and sweet!
DS2 is only 9 months old but he's such a cuddlebug that within weeks of bringing him home, my husband dubbed him cuddlebug, then we started calling him "bug" and now that he's got teeth he's "bug with teeth" LOL

Lemon2012 -- I'm with you, no more swaying for me either....I feel like such an idiot, bec at 34 & 36 I got pregnant first month without even trying, so I guess I assumed it would happen pretty easily at 40. NOT! I'm not wasting one more month...now I just want a BFP that will stick (healthy)!
Also, have any of you ever heard about using baby aspirin to help with fertility for us older mommas? I found some threads about it on some fertility boards...and since I had a chemical pregnancy in Jan, I was thinking maybe of trying it this cycle to help with implantation?

Hi everyone,
Haven't checking in for a while. On month 21! I hear what you are saying about not swaying anymore.....sometimes you just gotta work to get pg as quickly as possible.....but I remember reading that us older moms have a higher chance of having a girl anyway, so you have that in your favor for you girl swayers! I have done the SMEP plan before, I think it is a good system. Ask me if you have any questions!
auroara78
February 6th, 2012, 11:44 AM
Ilindgirl, I think that sounds like a good plan...and I'd def use baby asprin, as it really does help lower ph and it dried me up! I had like barely any EWCM (and I usually make a ton of it), and I took it for a while to help with implanation. I think it's great and cheap and i'd surely use it....good way to help sway girl some too, still! I still think your age is for you, being that more older mommas get girls, it seems like!
Lemon, I definitely feel this is a girl, I have dreams all the time that the baby is a girl, but I'm not sure if it's really my intution talking or if it's just desire that's blinding me. Only time will tell!
I hope you get preggers this cycle Lemon & sweetsister!

Hi girls,
Well I have been on the LE diet for 1 week now. The food choices are really not that hard, I just hate feeling hungry all the time. I plan to be on the LE diet all of Feb. and March before my first attempt. I have 25 day cycles with O usually on day 12 so I have calculated out a first attempt for March 30/31. I am on CD 6 today.
I have started Vitex and Saw Palmetto... I really hope the Vitex doesn't lengthen my cycles! I like having 25-day cycles b/c I can get in more tries this year! I think if I don't get PG this year I may not try further. Also DH has been taking SP for a couple months now for prostate health (he is a cyclist and spends many hours each week sitting on a tiny bike seat). We have both noticed a marked decrease in his sex drive (He usually wants it all the time, lol). I hope this will sway for us, because I am not going to give him Licorice Root.
ALSO - have any of you heard of/tried COq10 for fertility/improving egg quality? I have been trolling the 'net to find natural ways to increase fertility, and this is supposed to be helpful. I am taking it, although I don't know if it sways blue. I also read doing 300 jumping jacks before O helps increase blood flow to the ovaries/uterus.
Finally - I plan on getting acupuncture starting March 1 for fertility. Anyone else try it?
My BD plan is for DH to release each day until pos. OPK, then DTD as much as possible once I get a pos. OPK. I'm hoping to catch O-1 and O day.
Lemon - how long have you been trying? GL on your ultrasound! FX that everything is A-OK :)
IlindGirl - I have heard that baby aspirin helps make the uterine lining nice and fluffy. Plus it sways girl... so I am going to use it!

Hi ladies, just trying to catch on this thread that I thought I was subscribed to but must not have been, 'cause I just stumbled across it again. I hope I can join the group or rejoin LOL! I am 37 and DH is 40. We have 4 sons.
I am not swaying very hard anymore. Its been over a 1 1/2 ttc and at this point, I am starting to feel like me and my DH are just too old and that getting pregnant is more important. If you can't get pregnant there is no chance of my pink dream. I am on Clomid this month and we are DTD straight through O. I have used SYLK the first couple times, then found out it best not to use anything on Clomid, so I have stopped that too. I just want a baby. Miss taking care of a tiny baby so badly. I hope all is well with everyone. I hope I can join the group or rejoin LOL!

Hi everyone. I've been following all of your posts. It really does stink ttc over 35! However, my last two babies were born in 09' and 10', I was 37 and 39, so not impossible ( both boys). I'll be 41 in April and dh will be 42 in September. ttc a baby girl right now. Feel pregnant in every way possible this cycle (just coming off chemical mc) but every test calls me out as crazy wrong! So upsetting. I have a couple of questions and I think you are the perfect girls to help answer them.
1. Does your dh have any trouble releasing everyday? I have 34 day cycles so releasing starting at the end of AF was very stressful in the end. I had him on LR but being 41 made FR almost impossible on it so I stopped having him take it. Also does the amount of emission ever worry you? Towards the end as I believe I O'd very late there was very little to get me pg!!
2. I could never properly ck my ph. I never had enough CM. I'm on baby aspirin and Rephresh every 3 days but that's it. Did the diet make me too dry? We had to use Sylk or dtd would have never happened.
3. How much weight loss do you think will stop ovulation? I'm 5'7" and got down to 106. I think lower may reduce my fertility especially at 40. Plus it ages you when too much weight is lost......who wants that???!!!
We're doing FR with lots of bd from about a week before I expect O right on through. Any advice is welcome and needed!!
Thanks
KraizyDaizy
February 6th, 2012, 05:00 PM
sis40, I am no swaying expert, but my DH does have trouble with the FR and the amount of his sample does seem to be affected. I feel my DH is under way too much stress to perform sometimes and it makes me sad for him. I think he feels less of a man when he cannot or it takes way too long to DTD.
sis4O
February 6th, 2012, 05:32 PM
KD, I know exactly what you are talking about. Dh actually says "this is too much pressure" which in turn raises my stress level and probably sways blue!! I know it's my fault because I'm on a mission to get pg so romance isn't even part of the equation. Ugh.....I really liked the idea of the Licorice Root but he just couldn't do both. Do I add LR back in and then do compressed FR at +opk?
myGirl
February 6th, 2012, 05:43 PM
KraisyDaisy - I can totally relate to missing having a tiny baby! We have had 3 newborn baby girls in the family/close friends and it is making me crazy...lol! One was an oops baby for my DH's 40yo cousin, so it gives me hope!
sis4O -
1. Yes, my DH is 41, he does have trouble, especially since he's been taking Saw Palmetto. He's always ready to go, but not always able to finish easily. The amount of "stuff" he produces is also affected, sometimes it is a very small amount. Wow, he would kick my butt if he knew I was discussing this on the internet.
2. RE: the pH thing... I have decided I'm not going to even check mine. I'm just going to do the LE diet, take baby aspirin and drink crystal light. I am undecided on the RepHresh, but my main concern is that I will make it too hard to get pg. if I go all out like the younger girls do (i'm 40). Especially when DH's "stuff" is in such low quantites after frequent release. Also, worrying about checking pH will raise my testosterone.
If I were you, I wouldn't worry about checking pH either, you are doing everything to lower it, so I'll bet it's where it should be. I don't know about the diet and dryness, did you have EWCM before the diet? Are you using OPKs and temps to make sure you are O'ing? If you are using repHresh and sylk and haven't gotten pg. maybe you could drop the repHresh and just use sylk.
3. - Yeah, I agree about the weight loss. You really can't afford to lose any more. I wouldn't give up the diet though! Make sure you eat enough to maintain your weight. I envy you, I have 20 lbs. ahead of me to lose before my first attempt :sigh:
:luck: Hopefully 2012 will be a great year for all of us!

February 6th, 2012, 05:52 PM
Thanks myGirl. Don't you just love those oops babies?? That was what my chemical was last month. We were done with 4. Then that happened and I got baby fever all over again. Especially pink baby fever. It's terrible to want something so bad but never know if it will happen. All I can do is keep trying I guess.
As for our dh's what they don't know won't hurt them!! My dh would not be happy either but these are things I need to figure out so don't keep trying only in vain. Is being 41 enough in itself to lower sperm count?

Ok, thanks. I think I'm just going to use the aspirin every other day (as Atomic recommended) because I don't want to dry up my CM (not swaying), I just want to help out my lining if possible. Also, going to get tested at 7days past O and see what my progesterone levels are. What is clomid for? I'm 40 (DH is 41) so maybe that is something to consider? Would that help -- and how does it help?
This will be our 5th month trying! Although the first 2 months we tried O+12, what a waste of time that was! I still can't believe how much harder this is than just a few years ago! My DH had no problem with FR the first 3 months trying, he thought it was hilarious that I was reminding him to release everyday....but I'm not doing that either anymore. I think I'm doing the sperm meets egg plan -- every other day until positive OPK and then everyday for 3 days in a row. The one month we got pregnant but it didn't stick we had dtd it 2 days in a row, 2 days off, 2 days in a row, 2 days off, 2 days in a row. But I trust atomic so will use her pattern to maximize pregnancy. Only taking aspirin and prenatal vitamins. GL ladies -- Let's get some BFPs this month!!

ILindgurl~ Can I ask why you are taking a prenatal vitamin. Its def recommended to take folic acid but not to take a prenatal till you get a BFP. It works against what you are trying to do with the diet etc, limiting nutrients.

For me, I really think my DH has a lowered sperm count and because of this, I am dropping almost everything. DH used LC for a while then I thought maybe that was not a good idea since we were not getting pregnant. Frequent release he just could keep it up, so I am letting my DH work at his own pace, but a sample each day in my fertile window. If he is too tired or cannot DTD with me, I am happy to collect a sample in my Diva cup and insert it just as long as I get a sample, I don't care how it happens LOL (TMI I know).
In my sway beginnings, which have been on and off for a year now (1 1/2 years TTC #5), I tried spliming, douches, jellies, O+12, cut off, lime tampon, checking PH with digital Hannah tester, got the PH strips as well, spent tons on supplements and creams, you name it I tried it, but still no baby, so this month I am keeping an open mind to letting the Lord lead me. Praying all the way that I get my little girl, but will be so happy to have another little boy. Whatever He gives me, I am going to be blessed.
Anyone else in my boat, so sick of swaying?

HopeandDreamG - I'm not doing the diet. My ph is 4.0-4.5 naturally. I actually never did the diet because I eat more girl naturally so I did a very half-ass sway. Honestly, my gut feeling is that it's pretty much a 50/50 shot each time and after testing my husbands sperm which was off the chart (over 9ph) I think if we conceive it will more likely be a 3rd boy unless he was willing to do the diet, which he isn't. So, I very loosely swayed for 3 months - timing O+12, rephresh, crystal light, skipping breakfast, etc. Then I decided at 40 yrs old, that I don't have the luxury of time to spend precious months swaying for a girl, so after 3 months I stopped swaying completely - because that 3rd month I had a chemical pregnancy. At this point, I'm just trying to get pregnant, and so I'm taking a prenatal vitamin to help have a healthy pregnancy that sticks :)

KraizyDaizy - If you don't mind, could you please explain why you are taking Clomid? Is it because your cycles weren't regular?
I do not mind at all and would love to hear feedback on me using it. My LH is in the 8 and below range and I am having breakthrough spotting during my cycles. My cycles vary from very short to very long and my OB said I am not Oing, so hence the Clomid. One of my recent LP was just 8 days, so I am hoping the Clomid will help with this? Is that a good reason? I also have a small fibroid that might be causing some of the anemia.

Hi everyone,
Good to see some action on the swayers over 35 board!
I think I am cd 7 and I hope to o on Valentines Day but it looks more like it is going to be sooner.
For some reason I o on ced 12 or 14 or sometime in between. I wish it was more obvious and I could just relax and dtd with no question.
Good question for kd...does clomid help uterine lining?
I used it in the past bc I did not ovulate.
I have read a lot about accupuncture and I would like to try it but I have not had a lot of time lately.
Also, it is a lot of money and I do not have a lot of coverage for naturopathic medicine.
It might be something for those of us over 35 to try!!!
ilundgirl, 3 months is not bad...and really it might have been part of the process of trying again,...no regrets!
iilundgirl and my girl, I had a 26 day cycle and I ovulated on cd 12...same thing!
Were you like that before? Or, was it bc of vitex?
kd...what are you doing on the computer...lol!
HOPE!!! how are you?
What are you eating? Are you doing a diet? How are the kids???

I am not sure of that. I think it thins and that is why you cannot use it for very long. Was going to use baby aspirin but never got it, and that is supposed to make the lining fluffy or something like that better to implant in?
kd...what are you doing on the computer...lol!
I am obsessed I guess LOL! I am trying to get the kids to bed, but had to check on last time LOL!!

Lemon - I'm on D6, and also expected to O around the 12th. Yay, we are on similar cycles! My cycle used to be 27 days when I had DS1 (I was 34). Around 36, they started getting shorter to 24-25 days and stayed shorter after DS2. I never took vitex.

Why skip the 4th night then d t d again?
Not sure I understand.
We are trying every other day the every day close to o....I think.
I am so busy with work right now!
What day are you on?
Yeah not sure why skip the 4th day i suspect it is because it will be 4 days after a pos O test you dont need to anymore, and the next one is just in case?
Im on Cd 7 and my last day of clomid so i think we will be trying this weekend or sooner,im going to throw in 2x a day though after a posO test this time though after realizing i have a hostile enviroment:)

Hi Lemon! Clomid doesn't help your lining actually it can hurt your lining by making it too thin. Which is why you can pnly be on it time limited.
I am doing well. Yes I am doing the LE diet very strict 1200 calories a day. I truly believe it is the most important part of the sway! Hope your doing well. Whats happening with you.

Just my 2 cents you can take it or leave it. The diet is not only about PH. Ph may or may not even sway- It's about making your body think that times are tough and that the maternal condition is poor. It gives your body a chance to conceive a girl bc they require less calories from conception to birth and throughout adulthood. DH's diet is not important the way DW's is. It is possible the reason you are not getting preggo is the 0+ timing. For us, "mature mommas" the egg is most likely dead by 0+. Your better off dtd before and during O and doing the diet. The recent research shows more girls born from DTD on O day! Again just my 2 cents, and there are some great threads on here all about the maternal condition and timing (including why not to do 0+ over 35). These are the sway factors that are actually backed by research!
Good luck whatever you decide!!

KraizyDaizy -- thanks for your 2 cents. I know, that is why I abandoned O+12 after the second month. The reason I even tried it was bec I found IG website first and they really stressed O+12 as the best chance for a girl. But, after 2 months and researching it more thoroughly I realised it was a complete waste of time. In fact I agree with Atomic that for those women who claimed it works, they probably dtd right before they O'd not 12 hours after. You really need to dtd BEFORE ovulation to get pregnant! And you really need to get pregnant for your best chance at a girl.
Thanks for your thoughts on the diet. As I've said, I'm not swaying but still lurking bec there is so much valuable info about pregnancy/conception in general on the site. I really don't care what gender I have for a third child. I would be thrilled with another boy, or a girl. Any child would be a blessing! But I hope you ladies all get your DG! My dream at this point, is a third baby.
I hope you DTD because you don't want to miss your window and you want those spermies in there before you O! GL...sending + vibes your way! :)

I'm not sure. My opk's were positive for days. However, I always get really early results with FRER and they are stark white! I'm normally on a 34 day cycle today is cd 30. I would have gotten a positive two days ago but my cycle is probably a mess from having a chemical mc last month and being in the hospital with my ds for a week.

I was on IG as well after searching having girls, I found the O+12 article and so my downward spiral of swaying insanity began LOL!!! I agree with you on the ladies who claim the O+12 that they DTD before O and not the latter. I tried to so hard to catch the O+12 egg, but it never worked.
If you are not swaying, then you are still ttc though? I am ttc for a girl, but a boy will be just fine too. I mean like I can send him back or something LOL!!!
We did DTD sort of, ended up using my DIVA cup to collect and insert a sample because the pressure got to my DH, plus his knees are shot, so we will see. I hope things go better tonight, but either conventional or non, I will get some swimmers LOL!!! Thanks so much for the vibes, I really need them!!!!

Do you BBT? That is the only way I know for sure I Oed with the 3 consecutive temp rises. I can hardly believe I finally understand BBT charting now. I was so not into it at first but now, I live by it.
How early do you normally get BFPs? How many boys do you have now? Been TTC long?

I don't BBT but I did ask a question earlier about it. My temp ( I know because I'm constantly checking mine against 4 children) runs low 97.7 to 98.4. These last two weeks I have been 99.2 to 99.9. I'm probably sick but I don't feel ill.
Earlier today after using the bathroom I had light pink spotting. I haven't had anything on the pantyliner or when I've wiped since. Maybe AF is coming later today.
I have 1 dd age 15 followed by 3 boys. Dh and I had our first two a year after we got married they are 14 months apart then took a big break and had the next two they are 3 (Jan 16th) and 15 months. I can tell something is up with my body I just on't know what. I made a Dr's appt for Monday.

Well, I am hoping the spotting is implantation bleeding. Normally your temp drops when this happens. If you do not get a +HPT this cycle, I would suggest you try BBT temping. It's kind of hard to get used to doing it, but once you do it's like second nature in the morning and my thermometer keeps the last temp for me so I do not have to hurry and write it down or plug it in to FF.

We're going to do the FGD and "sperm-meets-egg-plan" so that we can get pg fast - I only have one tube and am at increased risk for ectopic (I've had one before) so trying for months and months makes me REALLY nervous.
Anyone else have a history of ectopic? If so, do you think that swaying affects it at all?

Hi sweet sister ?....good job...bd away..lol!
I am tired....and I just want tomgomto bed..lol!
The only opk I have left are clear blue normal ones. It is dark but not darker...I don't think they ever get darker though....not sure. It showed up at the same time.
So, we basically have early frequent bd with a one maybe two day cut off.....I have had ovulation pains for a week.ugh. So, basically I will be surPriSed if nothing is up with me. I might try again.....but it so forced!
Happy valentines day everyone:)

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! So, I finally saw a little EWCM in the last 2 days...but still negative OPKs. I'm hoping that I just missed the LH surge this month. I really can't afford anymore of these smiley face ones...anyone have a cheap OPK that they love (I can get maybe on the internet)?? thanks!

Hey illundgirl
I buy them for less than a dollar at early pregnancy.com
When it is wide and dark it is o time.
If it is narrow it is not accurate.
I screwed up this month...although it is not my fault....ds1 was up all night being sick:(

I don't want to be excited, in case I don't end up with a BFP this month, but my 21-day progesterone results are back and after taking Clomid cd5-10, my level is 38!!!! Last month it was a mesley 8!!! I asked her if I could be pregnant already with that high a number and she said yes!!! My level has never been that high ever!!!! Can you tell I am excited??????
Ladies, share you progesterone levels on Clomid. Maybe it's just a fluke?

Hi I just thought I would give you ladies some hope. I'm 35 with 3 sons (easily concieved, youngest being 5) I was ttc for a year using opks, ovacue with no luck. As a last resort my DH agreed to ivf pgd with Dr Potter - this also failed! I was heartbroken and thought my baby making days were over. My body took a few months to recover from the ivf in july 2011 and by October I started ttc. I did no diet just drank milk, cranberry juice diet lemonade to keep ph low. I read up on maca root and how it was amazing for fertility so I ordered some and started taking it. I had + opk CD14 my DH and I already been dtd regular as I thought that frrquent swayed girl. That week we had done it 4 times + the day after ovulation. CD 25 I POAS and it was ++++++ :) I just found out I'm having a girl!!!!! After the 3 boys we are over the moon. Don't give up girls, it will happen just try your best.
Good luck x
