Does the macha root sway girls? and where do you order it?

I took it for fertility purposes in the end. On IG it says it sways boys but when I was looking into purchasing the maca most of the reviews were from ladies who had girls when taking it. I bought 100% peruvian natural organic maca root from an online whole food store. It tastes absolutely vile but it clearly works as I caught the first month of using it. Google it and see how many people its helped after years of ttc.

I'm out too. AF arrived (late due to the crazy cycle with delayed O) as expected today. The one good thing is I now think I know how long my luteal phase is.....but ugh....this is getting frustrating. Especially since 2 mommy friends announced their pregnancies this week.

Lemon is having a break from the forums- you know how it is. She has been crazy busy and is going on a holiday to Florida very soon. She has an ultrasound booked soon to check everything ok as gets some awful O pains and swelling.

I have jumped in here occasionally but tend to be a bit slack at times. In April I will be 35, so then I will definitely be here more! I don't have to be 36 to play do I? lol.
I already have a December baby (DS2), so would much prefer to get pg in April and have a Jan baby. However, I am not willing to waste a month TTC, so will just see if it is meant to be.
I remember you Flava. And everyone else. Hoping we don't get tortured any longer by BFNs and everyone has some good news very soon.

Hi all,

I am 35 years and swaying for a girl after a failed High Tech attempt. Since my husband has very low sperm count, this is not going to be easy. I just ovulated a few days ago, and I am currently in the second half wait.

My dream: nice to see you! I hope you are ok.

Welcome mydream, PeonyPrincess and Chessika!

Right after my DS #3 was born, I tried so hard to convince DH to go high-tech for a girl. Back then Microsort was easy to get and I was young enough... we only live about a 2hr. drive from the California office! No amount of begging and cajoling would convince DH. So I tried for YEARS to give up my dream of a DD. I tried to be happy as a mom of boys. But I realized that I had to try again, because that desire never goes away. Here I am at 40 giving it one more shot with a sway.

I think Mar-May is the best time to sway girl, and I expect to see lots of BFPs in this thread soon! :luck:

Flava, I had 4 days of bad O pains this month and only O on CD18, way later than normal. The pain went away after I O, but I wondered if maybe I had a cyst or something? Not really sure. I was beginning to think I was going to have a month where I got pains and my body geared up to O but then didn't, but eventually my temp spiked. It is supposed to be quite normal for women to have an occasional month with no O.

Flava
March 4th, 2012, 09:41 AM
peony-my temp is higher too today so I hope I did O'd. It was just different this month .I always feel pain on the left side and now it was on the right side what hurt so much and kinda all around me like a ring my lower back hurt so much to mostly on the right.
I just wait and see.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I am 5dpo and have very mixed feelings. On the one hand I would love to give my son a sibling, because he is already 4 years old. But on the other hand I am already scared of having GD again. I donīt feel my sway has been good. And after trying with HT this is all a big gamble for me. Would be testing 9dpo too soon?

Welcome Chessika! I am a :poas: and started at 8DPO last cycle and it just made me a basket case, so you would think I would be leaning more towards testing later, but no, I will probably torture myself again this cycle. I would use some very good tests like FRER and not the internet cheapies if I were testing at 9DPO. Many blessings to you and your little pink dream.:ballerina:

WARNING TMI....

Okay ladies, how much does blood affect your PH? Last month somehow I got an "owie" or hurt myself down there while DTD and had some blood show up. Thought maybe it was O spotting, but I beleive it was Atomic who set me straight that I probably got an "owie" instead. Well last night we did not DTD till this AM and well after there was some blood? He is not rough so I really don't know how it happened. Will this wreck my chances cause the PH will be out of girly range? Can you bleed or spot and have any chances of getting preggers? In despiration, I had him give me a sample in a cup and insert it after I cleaned myself up a bit so maybe that sample might have a chance in there?? I know the cup gives me more chances of a boy, but at this point if I cannot get pregnant, there is no chance of a girl either.

Flava
March 7th, 2012, 11:36 AM
KD- for sure you have a chance for a girl! Ph don't really matter I don't think there is really girly or boyish pH .And why would a cup use have more chance for a boy? Just because it's hold the sperms inside? I think it gives more chance for a bfp not for a boy.

KraizyDaizy

Well I have read that you need to lower sperm count and that is supposed to give more girls a chance, so the cup would pool them all together making more boys heading for the egg. But I think my DH swimmers are low so I am doing whatever I can to just get pregnant at this point.

I got pregnant with my last two boys with cups, thinking they swayed girl, but only the Diva's are supposed to, but with my retro-flexed or tilted uterus, my cervix just does not seem to fit well with the Diva and only the Instead Soft Cups work for me. I just think this is my time to have a girl so I am trying anything right now.

Hi Everyone,

Glad to find this thread for over 35 swayers, thanks for starting this. I would like to join this group. I am 36 and will be 37 in July. I am TTC boy and have been wishing for a boy since 2007. There were lot of family and other issues in the past but this year i am all set to do my attempt. Rest is in god's hands ...i'm going to chase him to grant me my wish.

We actually did our attempt today and i am freaking about the timing. I posted my question in a separate thread and then saw this one. So, i am postig it here too...plz share your opinions.

Yesterday night around 12 PM, i got smiley face and so, as planned decided to do my attempt right then and there. Everything was going perfect but just before my hubby could finish, my daughter started crying...we tried to hurry...but he could not concentrate and i had to go. I spent almost 45 mins to put her back to sleep and after that my hubby could not perform

I then decided to just skip this month n we just went to sleep. However, in the morning i just couldn't handle missing/skipping another month and so decided to give it another try. Long story short, we BD'd around 12:30 PM today...almost 12-13 hrs after first Smiley face. Earlier my plan was to BD ASAP once i get smiley. I'm not sure when do i ovulate after +OPK. Though my LH surge went negative around 3 PM. Was i too late??

Also, what about the swimmers from last night...which he could not release....is that good or bad for TTC boy?? I had 2 big O last night but only one okay one today...and overall, we were not happy with everything ...so it was not as hot as we had thought.

I'm really freaking out thinking that i must be in the GIRL zone O time wise?? Plz share your honest opinions.

Hi ,and welcome:)
well in my own experience and many others i have talked with i have conceived 2 boys with complete opposite/different timing frequency seasons moon signs ect!!The only constant was diet ive always eaten boy friendly and with both i was gaining weight, catch my drift....So if you are on the boy diet? i wouldnt worry about timing,my thinking is it is more a lifestyle.

In the 2WW. Going for my progesterone level test tomorrow -- I hope it shows that I'm ovulating and no hormone issues...I'm so nervous...and conflicted. On the one hand I hope there are no hormonal issues, but on the other hand hoping they do discover something to explain why we aren't getting BFP. Meanwhile 2 more people on facebook announced their pregnancies this week. Makes me sad....I don't have much more time to try (maybe 3 mos or so). I'm starting to think that No 3...just isn't meant to be....and I'm not even swaying at all anymore! ARGH.

I was planning on testing Wed. at 10 dpo, but I will probably test tomorrow (9 dpo). Does anyone know how to use a opk as a clue to pg?

I'm so happy this 2ww will be over soon.

All I know about using OPK's as HPT is all here on this site Pee On A Stick ~ OPK's as HPT's (http://www.peeonastick.com/opkhpt.html) I hope it helps! Best of luck to you!!!

myGirl
April 9th, 2012, 02:34 PM
Thanks Kraisy! A lot of great info on that site. It looks like HPTs are much more sensitive than OPKs, so best to stick to the HPTs.

At what dpo are you going to test?

I really don't want to be disappointed and I figure as long as my AF is not here, then there is that possibility I might be pregnant, so I am not sure. If I do probably at 10dpo or 11dpo, unless I cave sooner, but of course I only have 1 FRER left and I know the Clear Blue Easy Digitals are not that sensitive, so I don't know what I will do. I am just hoping to feel some cramping or something. Did you cramp any yet? and did you have a implantation dip yet if you are BBT charting?

myGirl
April 9th, 2012, 03:24 PM
I don't chart, so I don't know my temps. I have felt some twinges in my uterus, but just a few. I know what you mean about not wanting to test too early and be disappointed. If I test before 10dpo, I will have to give myself the big pep talk about not believing negative results, not getting down.

I really hope this is our month-- I definitely have a good feeling about it for all us girls with the daisies in our avatars!

mydream, I am right there with you.

I am 10DPO and got a BFN this morning. I feel totally defeated but on the other hand there is that nagging feeling that I didn't time O correctly. I don't temp., just use opks and O pains to estimate O. I had O pains CD 11-13 and a positive OPK CD 12 AM, so I assumed my LH surge started the night before, and O was CD 12. BUT, I could have O'd CD 13 just as easily. That would make me only 9 DPO today.

There is a part of me that says "what in the world were you thinking - you're 40 - it will take forever to get PG." The other part of me says I am just testing too early.

The days and hours are dragging on, and I feel hyper-aware of all the little girls and babies around me. I am going to try to stay off GD and get immersed in a book or activity.

I completely understand the way you are feeling but honestly just b/c you are 40 does not mean it will take you months and months to get pregnant.. hang in there...it could just be too early to have tested. did you dtd even when OPK was negative after it being positive? (((HUGS)))

Mydream, those darn hormones make us crazy! I am sorry you are feeling like you could cry. I understand completely. It has been a hard journey for me as well. You would think after 4 boys, I could get pregnant easily, but no, this daughter is taking forever, so in my mind I keep thinking that is the reason, because it will be my pink dream finally. I don't want to test at all. I thought I would be biting at the bit dying to test, but I not because I just feel like I will be disappointed again.

Lord, please watch over mydream today and help her through these crying emotions. Bless her womb with the pink dream she has been longing for. In your name I pray, AMEN...

mydream, I am with you! This is so frustrating! My doctor calls it "the funky forties" and said that everything does the opposite of what you'd expect. She said the big thing is to have patience....I'm trying, but like you said it's so so hard! Kraizy, 2 years? I am in awe of your patience and perseverance -- that is amazing! Oh I hope you get your BPF this month, you sooo deserve it!

So I've been a little MIA. I had another chemical last month :( So that makes 2 chemicals in 3 months, since I stopped swaying. I guess the positive part is that egg & sperm are meeting...but they are not sticking. I've been told that at 40 someething like 40% of conceptions will miscarry due to genetic/chromosomal/old egg issues. They tested my progesterone at 7dpo last month and it was 23.4, which I guess is ok. My cycle is regular so they don't think it's the problem, no issues with spotting, LP is 13 days. My doctor says it's just a matter of waiting patiently for that good egg to come along...and that the chemicals are probably due to chromosomal abnormalities. She said I could have an ultrasound to see what the follicles look like before O (how many are there, how mature, etc) but I couldn't bring myself go this month...I honestly don't know if whatever I would learn from the procedure would be helpful at this point. If I learn that my fertility isn't so great which is what she said to expect at 40, It might just make me feel worse and give up hope all together.

I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday since CM changed from EWCM to watery, but not 100%. I decided this month to try and relax, no OPK testing...I honestly don't think it's in the cards for us at this point, but I'm going to try a bit longer. As much as I would love a little girl to join our family, I'm leaving it in fate/Gods hands, and would just feel so fortunate to get a healthy babe at this point!

Let's hope April is our month!! GL ladies!! :cheerteam:

ILindGurl- if 40% will be abnormal...look at it this way..60% will be normal and that is a way higher number and the odds are more in your favor!

I pray this works for ALL of us...being 39 S**KS!!! I wish I hadn't wasted a year of my natural fertility on HT....so sad :(

When I went for my 21-day progesterone test yesterday, I mentioned to my OB nurse that I thought I was getting too old to get pregnant, pushing 40 and all and she looked at me and said, "oh, no you are not, we have a lady pregnant that is 49....49"! I about fell out of the blood stick chair! So this being said, we can do this again! Time is not in our favor, but it can still happen at 49 for sure. I have never known anyone that old personally, but my nurse telling me this made me feel like we all still have a chance at our pink dreams. Don't give up, cause after two years I still want my daughter more than anything and I am not giving up.

Rooting and praying and cheering you all on! We will make this happen!!!!

ILindGurl
April 12th, 2012, 06:49 PM
wow -- 49? That has to be pretty unusual. Thanks, Kraizy, for sharing that...it does give me hope! GL on your progesterone tests results!!!

and thank you mydream for also pointing out the positive that 60% of conceptions should be good...so maybe it is a matter of just waiting for the right egg! Try not to regret the past, you were genuinely trying another method of conception and had no idea if it would be successful or not. The good thing about the longer we wait to conceive is that from what I've read something like 2/3rds of the babies of women over 40 are girls. So odds are getting even better for us :)

Praying for all of us that we get pink BFPs this month!

Hi girls, I'm not all the way caught up yet- been offline a day and a half due to migraine.

I got a BFN today so I went ahead and took my strong migraine drugs (Relpax). I feel sooo much better and actually happy about bfn, because I was so sick. I think the waiting while having so many pg symptoms was what made me crazy this 2ww. I dont know why I had such sore boobs, they aren't sore today.... AF is due in 2 days. And daily headaches that never subsided... Stupid Tylenol never works for me.

This is my first month TTC, and we had so many attempts, O pains were super strong and boobs so sore later, I really had myself convinced I was PG! I might need to change my name to KraisyGirl LOL.

Just want to let you know girls, I'm praying for you all to get BFPs.

I'm sorry. When is AF due? Maybe you didn't have enough urine this am? or the test was somehow damaged?

I would wait (and test each day) until AF is suppose to arrive. That is your best bet. If it comes, then I think you probably had a chemical. But, if it stays away, then see your doctor to test to confirm a pregnancy. Hang in there....after my 2 chemicals I know how disappointing this feels right now...but you still might be preggers...so don't count yourself out just based on one test. OK?

Thanks for bumping...I didn't know this one existed. And showed up at the most opportune time cuz I just got back from my prenatal appt and I got the whole "over 35" lecture about downs syndrome and other chromosomal defects...and now I'm STRESSED. What was I thinking? I'll be 40 soon, and I'm still having kids? Doc says something like 1 in 85. My nuchal screen is in 3 weeks and of course I was offered the amnio but I have always turned it down because of the 1 in 200 chance of miscarriage. You know there's really nothing anyone can say to ease my fears either.

Just venting...if anyone has any similiar experiences would love to hear them!

HopeandDreamG
September 10th, 2012, 01:36 PM
Anchor- your not going to like what I have to say. I conceived DD with downs. I was 35. I did the cvs which is supposed to be less risky then amnio.

My bloods came back like 1 in 20. I was the one it happened to. My heart is still broken. If u would have a baby regardless of chromosome issues then don't even bother testing.

I'm sorry H&D,
But, thanks for your post, I do appreciate it. Apologies if I am prying and feel free to tell me to MMOB - but did you terminate? I have never tested in the past because I had no intention of doing so, but I do understand people who do, and might even be there myself because of my age.

Were you swaying? It probably doesn't make a difference one way or the other...just that I was swaying for egg health this time around, not boy or girl. So RJ/BP, folic acid, fish oil, all those.

Hugs to you...

Anchor, I've been thinking about the same thing. I'm only 7 weeks, but this is baby number 5. And it may sound horrible, but there is no way I can take care of a child with special needs on top of the 4 I already have. I'm really debating on cvs. I have to talk to my doc when I see her at the end of this week. This is scary stuff.

The Anchor
September 10th, 2012, 02:28 PM
We can only get CVS here if we have a history of chromosomal defect. So amnio is my only option, which I will do if my nuchal comes back with a high chance. And amnio is at like 18 weeks! I am freaking out a bit...let's hold hands.

Hi Ladies, Do they automatically suggest an aminio or CVS if you are over 35? I know with my last they did that 13 week nuchal, but that seems standard now. I usually see midwives so I bet they really wouldn't offer the extra tests.

The amnio is offered to everyone over 35 here (Canada). CVS is offered for "high risk" patients, but just being over 35 doesn't cut it. Amnio is also offered if your nuchal comes back less than 1 in 200...

They don't automatically have u do cvs or amnio. It depends on how bloods come back. And of course it's a choice. I did not want a special needs child. So yes, anchor I terminated. I never say it even on here bc I really dont want to be judged. I do not believe my dh is cut out for it (or me) and didn't want that for by boys. I was unlucky. Does not mean you ladies will be.
I was not swaying. It was an oopsie. I was exercising like a mad woman, losing weight. And it was a pull out. No idea of timing. Kinda of an sway but didn't plan or know it!!

Because I went through this and dh saw my heart break in pieces he's willing to do anything to help get a girl for me. Including HT and spending $ we don't have.

Personally, I wouldn't get amnio unless my blood came back abnormal. Just to give you mature mamas a little hope, my blood came back as me having the risk of a 19 year old - 1 in 2000 or something like that...and I'm turning 38 in a month! My midwives say they don't really consider you high risk these days until you're over 40 anyway (I'm in Canada too).

And HopeandDream - :hug2: for everything you've had to go through.

Hi Ladies, I would love to chat with some other ladies over 35 in regards to swaying. I am 38 and DH is 42. We have one DS who is nearly 3. We left it later to start our family and I sometimes regret that now but what is done is done. I would love to have a DD so here I am trying to sway. My biggest concern is the frequency/timing - either FR or abstain. Due to age abstain is out but I find the FR is not really working for us. It would be great to know what other ladies are planning.

I wanted to also say I think this is a great forum for us to come in and talk freely about how we feel and what we are scared of and no one will judge us. HopeandDream, hugs to you. Thank you for sharing with us.

Hi all, just stopping by. DH and I fit into the 35+ category. Makes me a little nervous as this is our first child we're ttc. With maternal years not on my side anymore, my concern is if it takes a long while to conceive the first (7 months so far including m/c) what if we decide to have another but 'run out of time'? :worry: I guess we'll be blessed if we have one eventually...

Hi Ladies. Another `geriatric` mom here! :) I just turned 40 and have 3 boys (my first boy is 23 and second 21) and then I had my little Aidan who is now 2 1/2. I thought I was done with babies BUT I am itching for another one and DH is happy to comply...so...
I secretly wanted a little girl for my last 2 pregnancies, but did not suffer from GD and I hope this time will be the same if I don't get the girl I soooo long for. I am tying my tubes when I have another one and that will be it, girl or no girl. Last chance!
Wishing you all lots of luck!

what if we decide to have another but 'run out of time'?

We all fear that but we see older mums conceiving all the time. A friend of mine is 44 and conceived recently after trying for 6 months. I also worry as I am now 40 and everytime I read something about pregnancy on your 40's they make it sound like a very bad idea or that it might not even happen! The secret is stay calm and believe your body will do what it's been designed to do. Good luck!

Mrs Incredible
congratulations on your work out – sounds like a toughie! As regards your question on Atomic’s sway plans, I am seriously considering getting a sway plan from Atomic. My only hesitancy is Atomic herself has (words to the effect) that the girl sway is about reducing overall fertility (as that sways girls) so if you are older it may be better to just get pregnant rather than worry about the gender. The other thing for me is the amount of dairy to be consumed. I like Milk but I have ibs and follow the Low Fodmap diet. So I basically drink lactose free organic milk and no yogurt or keffir as it is hard to get lactose free yogurt unless you go vegan and frankly I don’t tolerate soy. So with all that in mind I am still mulling it over. At the moment I am just trying to keep my blood sugar down and calcium and magnesium levels up.

Welcome bunnywabbit I totally get where you are coming from I am 37 (38 in less than 4 months) and TTC my first child. It is difficult one. I want to sway because I always imagined myself with daughters and do want a daughter more than a son. Wow, I feel guilty saying that! But at my age I do wonder should I just aim to get pregnant as soon as possible and let nature take its course. I do so want a girl but I want a healthy baby of either gender most of all.

Your post about your posts made me laugh Aiden’s Mum good luck with your sway

Aiden’s Mum said” We all fear that but we see older mums conceiving all the time.. I also worry as I am now 40 and everytime I read something about pregnancy on your 40's they make it sound like a very bad idea or that it might not even happen! The secret is stay calm and believe your body will do what it's been designed to do. Good luck"

urgh the newspapers annoy me. I know they have to keep us informed and it is true your fertility declines with age. But I hate the undercurrent in much of the stories that some how older Mum’s are selfish women who choose not to have children when they were most fertile. It is usually so much more complicated than that and it is not fair we have extra stress when as you say we need to stay calm.

Yes, this is where I am right now. A DD would be lovely, but for right now just hoping for a non eventful H&H 9 months soon. I'm aware I am really quite... stressed (not sure if that's the correct term) - family 'differences', living circumstances, work are all part of it. Am trying to wind down, relax and enjoy myself - have some me time and do something I enjoy, just finding it very difficult to get the hang of it. I'm wondering if background pressures, even things I'm not even aware of thinking about are making it a little more difficult for me to conceive. Wondering if by letting my hair down and relaxing it may happen, maybe as a surprise. Would love to throw it all in for a month or so and go relax on a beach...

Have loosened up a little on the sway (still meat free, just dropped RepHresh and cut down on the antihistamines) Open to tried and tested R&R suggestions! Talking of which, has anyone tried reiki? Any good?

I haven't tried Reiki Bunnywabbit, but I have heard Acupuncture is great when ttc. I am going to probably do a six week course before I start ivf. From what I have read it is good for relaxing Mums/Moms to be but also gets the blood flowing to the reproductive organs therefore making conception more likely.
I definitely think stress makes it harder to conceive so anything that helps relax us is great. Apparently Yoga and Qi-gong are particularly good destressers and obviously meditation. I do a little bit of yoga anyway but I think I will purchase Brenda Strong's Yoga For Fertility dvd too as it obviously worked for her. I am also trying to mediate even though I am not the kind of person who finds quieting her mind easy.
Have you tried anything out of the ordinary to help relax you during this time?

bunnywabbit
August 24th, 2013, 08:15 AM
Haven't tried anything out of the ordinary, no. Reiki I heard was good as long as I ensure it doesn't do anything to help aid conception directly. Took a few days out of work recently just to do 'nothing' in which started out ok, but ended up sick toward the end.

Relaxation for me at the moment is difficult. MiL has recently left after been over for three weeks - no chance of relaxing then. Work is really hectic and has turned moreso from this week just finishing - I work at the local college and is enrolment time (four weeks worth), so can mean working from 08:30 until sometimes around 21:00. So very *not* relaxing. Am doing what I can to relax on the weekends instead, but DH is sick today, so been running getting meds, etc. in for him and have a appointment for him this afternoon at the hospital, so more tooing and froing... Funfunfun!

I'll get there - thankfully is a long weekend so can catch up on doing nothing!

Is there a special pink sway plan for women over 40? After 2 failed IVF's I Am worried about my ability to get pregnant at all at 41. i have 3 boys conceived naturally at the first attempt, but the last one was over 6 years ago. But, i would like to try for a couple of months to sway before i give up completely. Reading through the posts on swaying has utterly confused me. Are there a few basic things that I can do without overhauling my life?

Is anyone still actively Ttc here anymore? I'm not sure where to post a hello

Anyway I've been Ttc on and off for the last four years with too many mc along the way. I'm am now back to fully Ttc now. I'm hoping and praying for a healthy happy baby, no swaying for me anymore now. I would love a baby girl but a baby is more important to me these days.

I'm now 40 eeekkkk how did that happen! And I have 5 children already so been blessed but would love at least one more!

I've just had my day 3 bloods and day 21 bloods done but waiting to get the results from our drs. I'm also thinking about paying to have my AMH bloods done but unsure how much extra info that's really going to be so waiting for the results of the ones I've just had done.

Well I wasn't here before because we have only just started ttc #3 but I fit in the over 35 category now. I don't know why going from 34 to 35 suddenly makes you feel so much older! Probably because it is always made out to be the age where your fertility suddenly drops (although I know it doesn't work that way!)

Good luck twinkle! 4 years is a long time and it sounds like you have been through a lot. Hopefully it happens for you soon :)

I conceived my last little girl at 35 and gave birth at 36, I felt ok with the age then, it was the goingn from 39-40 that's really hit me lol. I feel like it's never going to happen now, I will however try to prove to that 40 is still a good age . Good luck on your Ttc journey I hope it's a speedy one!

My fears are probably also based on issues with fertility when ttc my last two.. I had my first when I was 28 and had problems then so 35 seems imposible now.

I have friends however that didn't have their first until after 35 and had no issues at all. Everyone is so different!

It doesn't work that way though! Please don't buy into the "myth of 35" ladies - it says NOTHING for your individual odds, it's just the age at which across the whole population, more women start to have fertility challenges. Plenty of people go right on chugging up to 40 and even beyond.

I feel so silly for panicking about my fertility when I was 36 and doing all this stuff that swayed blue because of that. I had 3 babies after taht and my last was conceived at 41!!

Oh and I can't quote this for some reason, but it is not uncommon for people to have fertility issues with their first and then it's like their body "learns" how to get and stay pregnant and they go onto have additional kids with no trouble at all. Having trouble TTC with one child doesn't necessarily always mean you'll have trouble in the future and it certainly doesn't mean you're going to have menopause early (unless you are diagnosed with DOR)

Bloods are in!

Day 3

Lh 1.1 iu/l
Fsh2.9 iu/l

Day 21

Prolactin 164 ml/l
Progesterone 1 now
Oestradiol 195 poml/l
Tst 0.83mul
Free t4 12.0 poml/l

Having day 21 repeated as it showed no ovulation.

I've googled too much and now worried the fsh is too low, it's saying a fsh too low is a indercation of pcos.

I've had a very quick google at the symptoms and no I don't seem to have other symptoms. My cycles are regular at 25-27 days not heavy. I have had a few longer cyvles like last month but on the whole regular. I don't have any excessive hair growth and the drs say my day 21 bloods were ok other than the progesterone was too low so no ovulation was detected but I knew that as I hadn't had a positive opk Andy temps didn't pick up ovulation untill day 30. I'm not sure if my free testosterone is normal as I haven't googled that but the gp didn't say it was. Just hope the AMH cakes back a reasonable number

I agree with what Atomic says about your body "learning" how to get and stay pregnant. I work with a lady who tried for 9 years to get pregnant. They were just about to start fertility treatments when she found out that she was pregnant (at 31 or so) and that was 5 years ago. She just gave birth to her third child a couple of weeks ago and her second child is around 22 months old. They had no problem getting pregnant with #2 or #3.

Twinkle- hopefully you got good news on your AMH. I got pregnant easily with #1 and again with #2 (got pregnant three months after a tubal reversal). We tried for 18 months to get pregnant (only to have a M/C) and have not been able to get pregnant again. Originally my AMH came back undetectable and I did CoQ10 and DHEA to get it up to 0.234, but that is still very low and even with perfectly timed BD we still were unable to get pregnant.

I think women can go on just fine getting pregnant in later years, but my mother and grandmother had meopause early on (48 or so) so apparently I am just not one of the lucky ones. lol

Good luck to any of the more mature moms out there trying for their DG!

Hi ladies! I'm joining the club here as an Over 35 TTC. Glad to see I'm not alone :)

I'm 37 and will be 38 in September. I conceived my first son at 32, after a year and a half of trying, and my second son was conceived at 35, after 14 months TTC. I had some GD with both boys, not because I don't love boys, but I want a girl, too, and ours would be the only grand daughter on both sides as everyone else is done having kids. I was hoping to have her first and get it out of the way haha.

It's been a very difficult decision to TTC #3. We are in a comfortable place right now, and it's easy to look forward to days when I don't have to plan my life around naps and babies. We are financially capable of handling two, but three will be more of a guessing game. Plus, our ages aren't helping. It took us so long to conceive the boys that my DH is dreading TTC (over 30 cumulative months of BFNs can really kill the TTC excitement), and if it takes us that long again we will be pushing the boundaries of our age window when we would feel comfortable to have a new baby. It's not just being able to handle it in our 40s, but also how old we will be when this new babe goes to college.

But the dream of having three children, and possibly a girl, is pushing me more than the negatives. I had to really coerce my husband to try, and I'm not sure what he will feel if/when I do get pregnant because I don't think we're in the healthiest place right now. As it is, I had to agree that if we don't get pregnant without help within a year, then it's just the way things are for us and we move forward with our lives. Right now, I think to myself that I can handle it being in God's hands, but I hope that I can still be so fatalistic when month 11 rolls around :worry:

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well (looks like mostly Purple and Twinkle have been checking in). I don't know much about AMH or FSH levels aside from what I've picked up from others, but I hope you're getting good news from your doctors!

Good luck and welcome!

I have heard that when they ask elderly people if they have any regrets about their lives, the number one was "I should have had more children." This has been something that tons of women have told me as well, because I have such an oddball family makeup, the two boys when I was young, then after 13 years, 2 more boys and then a girl (not remarried, same husband LOL). So many women tell me, "I really wanted just one more but my husband said no" or something along those lines. I just want to encourage you to listen to your heart and don't worry about your age - it isn't any more of a challenge than when I was younger. I feel like I wasted so much energy worrying about BS when I had my first two, that age and wisdom (if I have any) has freed me up to have more energy even though I'm older now. I just don't stress about stuff like I used to. :)

We started attempting this month. I'm 39 and have 4 children already. 3 girls 12 11 and 4 and a son who's 7. Took a while for us to reach the decision to try for baby 5 because of my age - but here we are.

We are attempting to sway blue , but only been on diet 3/4 weeks. Feeling nervous as I'm not sure I've done enough , and also hoping that I'm not setting myself up for disappointment - and then if it does happen will I be able to cope with all that comes with pregnancy and babies.

Wishing everybody gets there dream babies x

AF arrived today for me. Two days early so it means my LP was only 10 days. I'm going to try Soy isoflavones next month as the only times I have been pregnant is twice from clomid and then once with DS2 using soy. Baby blue, I was the same, at 36 I said only till the next birthday and I just kept moving that goal post, once om the Ttc train its so hard to jump back off. I always think this next cycle it could just work! I hope this cycle you get the dream Bfp!

Yesterday I got my positive opk, we have the kids all home because of Easter and it's playing havoc with the smallest one she is staying up so late! Anyway we managed a good attempt last night and going by my temps I think ov could be this morning or was early hours as my temp rise but not by too much. I'm past pink or blue right now just a baby, this last four years of trying started this month four years ago.

Thanks, I'm ok since it was only the first try :)
To get clomid I would have to go to my GP and get a referral to a fertility specialist then wait several months for an appointment and then probably have to get testing done (me and DH) and I would rather not worry about all that. Soy I was able to order online as it is over the counter. I would have bought the same one I used last time but they stopped making that one, hopefully the one I got is ok.

I wouldn't worry too much about the temps and try and read too much into them. I will only temp enough to see the thermal shift these days, otherwise I over analyse the temps! I will probably start temping about day 10 and then stop 4 or 5 dpo.

Congrats, XXforhubby. And good luck!

I'm just waiting for AF to show. One day later than it has been lately. BFN and we weren't trying this month, anyway. Probably just more pre-menopausal nonsense. I hate waiting though. So sick of my period & having it hanging over my head is even worse.

I keep telling dh I want to either get pregnant ASAP (with our girl, of course [emoji6]) or for menopause to just hurry up. 30 years of periods (minus babies/nursing) and I am so over it.

Our kids are all between 3-4 yrs apart. Even if I got pregnant this cycle (which I actually prefer to avoid, too many birthdays in Jan/Feb already), it would be the biggest gap between kids.

I must be insane.

Last cycle was messed up too so I'm hoping they run some tests to check my hormones. I didn't really want to go the medical route but I might have to. All least there is a good chance I can get prescribed Clomid but it's going to take ages to get the appointments.

I'm just coming in to hang out for a bit. I'm turning 39 in June, 4 boys, want to try one more time . I don't expect I have fertility issues but I have an appointment next week to try to get Clomid/femara; im can't mess around with time...

Any chance your Dr will skip the specialist and just hand over the scrip? That's whT im hoping for in my case.

Unlikely as Clomid is more restricted in Australia so they have to be specialists. There is a fertility clinic in the building next to my work so I'm thinking of ringing to find out what their waiting list is like. It would be very convenient to go there for appointments as the one I went to before is really out of the way now.

I had lots of bleeding today in the morning and was a bit crampy. It was almost like a period except then it mostly stopped for the afternoon. I feel better at least knowing I have an appointment and a plan now. I hope my Dr doesn't just tell me I need to wait for my cycles to regulate after the mirena removal.

Just tell him "ain't nobody got time for that" and hopefully he plays ball . It's the same in Canada btw; I know my GP will want to ship me off to a specialist but I'm going to stress the importance of the time I have left (snd real life deadline im under) and that I understand the risks and hope he just writes the damm script.

I managed to get an appointment with the FS near work for in 2 weeks time. Just hope my GP will give me a referral and doesn't just think I'm being impatient!

Be in charge. My appt is Wednesday. I'm the biggest push over when it comes to medical help, but my plan is to tell him directly what I want I. A way that is self advocating.
I may not be successful but if I just walk in there and explain my problem he will definitely put me off in someone else's hands and I so do not have time for that. So far I am not ovulating one own, and I want one more child. I refuse this time to sit back and have someone control those measures when a simple rx may fix it.

Dh seems to think we won't have any trouble conceiving because we never have before I can kind of see his point, my youngest is an oops baby from the first time we DTD after dh nearly died & was in hospital for 3 months. But I was 4 years younger than I am now.. Still over 35, but that 4 years makes a difference. I want to try this month, even though that would put my due date awfully close to where we want to avoid. He wants to wait another month because he thinks I'll get pregnant first try again.

It's possible he's right but it's also possible I'm already too old. I have no dr. right now and no way of knowing.

I just want to be pregnant or give up, move on & try to stop dreaming of a daughter.

Hey gals, let's start a spinoff thread for this, when the threads get too long they contribute to slowness of the site.

I know we have a lot of swayers over 35 right now so let's chat!
