Pink Sway- Timing Question

Hi Ladies,

I'm swaying pink, and want to do the "Abstain + 1 attempt" method of BD at O-2 or O-1.
What exactly does abstain mean? I understand it to mean no release from AF up until the single BD attempt. Please let me know if this is correct.

From what I have read timing doesn't work, as long as you are only having 1 unprotected bd at pos opk or every 4 days, whichever you are following, then you can bd protected whenever you desire. I'm sure if thats wrong someone will correct me.
