Thank you so much for all the essays. I understand the diet, coffee, fiber, alcohol etc. I also understand the one attempt or e4d. My question is what about the days you dtd protected. Do you still recommend the frequency of release everyday or abstain? I recently read your essay on frequency and it seems maybe some things have changed. Like i think you no longer recommend 0+12? Sorry this is so long!
I am basically just wondering how often we can dtd protected outside those one attempts! Thanks!!!

So if we dtd protected and then the next day I got a positive opk that would be fine? Or e4d. We could have protected Thursday and still be fine on Friday? My husband is used to at least 3 times a week. [emoji51] probably why we have 4 boys now. [emoji23]

Atomic is the best person to advise in this case, sorry not sure in that case. I ended up doing an unintentional abstain as DH was ill week before i got my positive opk.
I know Atomic likes us trying one attempt first for a few months before going to e4d unless u dont like or cant do opks.

I have NEVER recommended O+12 LOL. :) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/35539-no-12-a.html

When it comes to daily release or abstain, I do not think they work any more. Plus they've gotten disappointing results. But many people do still want to give them a try and I help people do that to start with, as long as they are among the first things to be dropped.

If you're not doing abstain, it's fine to BD protected whenever. This is kind of a method we call "do what he does" which basically means you don't worry about it and do whatever you and hubby prefer, and then have one unprotected attempt. The downside is if you guys are pretty frisky, you can end up having a lot of attempts in a row (which is of course, the daily release method) which may sway pink BUT also cuts odds of conception by a lot. So other people prefer to do regular release every 2-4 days (either on his own or with you, with a condom) and then have one attempt. this may boost conception by upping sperm count.

Above all else I'd do what seems to work best for you and DH.

yes that's fine. It is NOT the frequency at which hubby releases that does anything, it's the number of times he "completes the transaction" inside. Something about there being more deposits seems to sway blue, while one attempt seems best for pink. so two back to back releases doesn't affect a sway.
