View Full Version : My cycles have become longer

I have been on the LE diet since the end of January but in that time my cycle has dramatically.
I used to be like clockwork and had a 24 day cycle, I was never late. My cycle is now 29-31 days and changes every month. I didn’t get a positive OPK this month so I’m not sure I ovulated.... I’m on day 30 and still haven’t got my period and I’m not pregnant.
I have lost 33 pound on the diet (my BMI is still 27 so I have more weight to lose) could that be messing with my cycles?

same thing happened to me, at first my cycles shortened and ironically the longest cycle I had (38 days!!) I tell pregnant!! I think the diet absolutely can do that, I added some full fat dairy and eggs like atomic suggested I think it helped me finally ovulate!

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s a relief to know that this has happened to others. I’ll try adding in some eggs and maybe a yogurt after dinner.

Yes, LE Diet can change your cycles. Happens to nearly everyone! Yes add in the eggs and dairy but I"m actually not too sure that the issue for you is the same as for those who drop very low in BMI. I actually suspect you may have had some PCO-tendencies and the LE Diet/weight loss is helping to correct them. This is a good thing for your fertility and your sway.

Are you on the alternate diet? If not, you should be!

Thanks Atomic. What do I need to do for the alternate diet? The LE diet has worked wonders for my weight as it is falling off and lots of people are now commenting about how different I look [emoji847]

I have a clear blue advanced fertility monitor which didn’t detect ovulation this month or last month. I used to have very regular cycles and I ovulated on day 14/15.

If the weight is falling off and is working for you, I'd probably keep doing what you're doing.

The alternate diet is here if you want to take a look genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html

If you got your period eventually the odds are sky high you did ovulate.

Thank you for your help Atomic. I have read the alternate diet. Is it ok if I carry on LE diet but incorporate elements from the alternate diet eg more whole grains, less white carbs etc?

Do you think it would be worth adding vitex and magnesium into my sway? If so, when should I take them/ how much?

Thank you!

I’m from the UK and can’t find Vitex. Is this the same stuff?

It is still LE Diet. That's really all it is, is LE Diet with slightly higher fat and protein intake, slightly lower carb intake, and whole grains, fruits and veg while cutting back white carbs.

I have never recommended magnesium. The only reason why magnesium was ever said to sway was because it "makes calcium work better" so if you're not taking calcium there is no point in taking magnesium. (I'm not saying to take calcium, either, necessarily, just that magnesium alone is pointless)

You can take vitex if you so choose but the results have been exceedingly disappointing 10+% lower than the overall success rates of the site, plus it can really mess up people's cycles badly and cut odds of conception.

I have the essay on Vitex here which is probably more than u ever wanted to know!

http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/1094-vitex-faq-share-your-experiences-here.html?1094-Vitex%21-FAQ-and-share-your-experiences-here=

As for that vitex, it seems to be formulated differently and seems to be a very high dose. Most people take about 800 mg so I am assuming that is measured differently and I can't speak to the dose on that.
