Sorry to keep popping up in this thread I’m just so happy for you abc! Also I had the worlds worst sore boobs from 4 weeks to 8 weeks then completely nothing, they even deflated! You might even remeber me stressing about this on the board! Anyway she’s kicking away as I type and my boobs are fine and dandy! I also didn’t have sore boobs once with my son! Thanks Girlsway!! I didn't have sore boobs with my boys at all that I remember. I had sore nipples with my last miscarriage and then now with this one but it's not terrible and really comes and goes. I don't know what to think really!! My nausea & fatigue isn't as bad today so that makes me worry too! The worry never ends!!!
Glad your baby girl is kicking well!!

Oooh. I don’t even want to try, thinking it may get me down. And I’ve heard even though they boast over a 98% success rate, a 50/50 is much more likely. I’d hate to get my hopes up or feel down about it. Just going to try & enjoy this one and take it step by step. Seeing the heartbeat was good but I know I’m not out of the woods.

I personally think Ramzi is impossible so early anyway since it's by placenta, which isn't even always visible in those early scans! So happy to hear your scan went well hannah!
My symptoms have really ebbed. Right at 10w seemingly overnight shorts started to fit snugger and I swear there is the beginnings of bump (and I feel like I can't breathe if I wear snugger clothes like with DD!). But not sure if that's too early for any of it to really mean anything.
Have had spurts of cramping on and off since yesterday that's had me petrified. DH is out of town, next scan isn't until the 19th, and tomorrow is the anniversary of my third loss (which was my most traumatic for a lot if reasons).
I'm regretting not pushing for that scan last week. Though I just got a HUGE bill from the others despite us meeting our deductible so at the same time am trying to imagine what a bill would be if we HAD done it.

Hannah Ramzi was correct for me in the end but there so much to it! I asked where the placenta was for example and mine was internal, some images are flipped the list goes on! I didn’t put my full hopes into it because I’ve seen it wrong so many times as well!

I’m due Jan 31st and am, of course, having Ramzi induced panic as well. And just all around feeling sad. I just have a feeling this is a boy, which makes me feel like the last 3 years of swaying were for nothing. Trying to get excited, looking at cute boy nurseries but then I see a pink one and alllll the progress is lost. DH’s response, “We’ll have more then!” :suprise:

Pretty - I think all of us on here are having some degree of gender anxiety, so you're not alone. I've been having a really hard time eating - I seem to have aversions to about 90% of foods right now. I made the mistake of Googling food aversions in pregnancy and found out it is thought to be a "boy symptom". Even though I know my aversions weren't this bad with my two boys!! Anyways - the gender anxiety is tough for sure!!

Hey girls!
ABC sounds like your symptoms have really kicked in! Those gorgeous babes are obviously snuggled in and making themselves at home xx
Cassidy yay for an early scan! Can't wait to hear about it!
I just booked my first scan and panorama test for 12 July I'll be 9+3
Weeks- I cannot believe I will know if baby is healthy and their gender in around 5 weeks!!!
I'm so no prepared for this- this is it my last chance at my daughters and I feel so so strongly it's a boy.
I have no symptoms now not even cramping and nausea seems to have gone- I'm not even tired! I'm grateful but feel like it must be another boy because it seems most people I know with girls had terrible morning sickness really early.
How am I going to deal with this it's really life changing because if it's boy number 3 I'll have to adjust all my visions of the future and that's so scary.
Apologies for the vent my head is crazy right now xx

TP, with 2 of mine, I had cramping through the first 2 trimesters. That turned into significant ligament and sciatica pain. I think it all is related. I’m with you though in still freaking out over nothing. I wore a sea band bracelet today and questioned why I wasn’t feeling as nauseous as yesterday. I thought I was losing symptoms. I actually think the dang band is working! Haha. It is so easy to obsess over little things.
Oh ABC, I am with you on all the OWT signs. I am trying to let go. It’s just so hard. I had a dream that we had another boy and I woke up crying!! I told my husband that maybe I need to find out what we are having. So I can deal with it and get on with life! But what do y’all think? Easier on the emotions if I wait until that sweet baby is in my arms? Or does it just add to wishful thinking that it MAY be our girl?

Kitten - Did you have a lot of symptoms with your boys? I've known a lot of women who had mild or no MS and had girls and women with a LOT of MS who had boys!! My BF is pregnant with a boy right now and she had HG - SUPER sick!! I know it's hard b/c we've all been told/heard that more sickness=girl but definitely not always true. I was super nauseated and throwing up with DS2 by 5 1/2 weeks - was sure he was going to be a girl!!
Atomic swears symptoms don't mean anything though - in part because boy babies don't even start producing testosterone until later on so there really isn't any difference between boys and girls at this point.
Yea my symptoms have kicked in more - the nausea is pretty mild and really is only when I'm hungry, which is a lot of the time (but like I said, eating even when I'm hungry is hard!). I'm crazy tired and my boobs have definitely gotten bigger already which didn't happen with my boys. The nipple soreness is very off and on though - and every time they aren't sore I get all freaked out again! I've felt more emotional and weepy the past few days too.... but I think that's in part because I'm just so tired!! Even with having clearer symptoms this time I'm still so worried about Friday's scan.
One month until your scan & NIPT!! Exciting!!!!

It's a hard question but I think it just depends on how each individual person would best cope with the news... If they are better off having time to adjust to gender disappointment before the birth, or feel like they wouldn't be as disappointed if they saw/held baby first. I have always thought it would be pretty tough to deal with that initial shock/gender disappointment in the delivery room though.

Thanks ladies, I hope we get our little girls! Kittendreams, with DS I was violently ill from BFP to birth, spending much of the time in between in the hospital with HG, yet he is SOOOOOOOO ALLLLLLL boy. I know there are studies and stuff, but everybody is just so different, and each pregnancy is so different. this is a huge source of hope for me :)
I’m totally scared too, and so scared of how I’ll react or cope. I already feel so outnumbered around here. A few of my girlfriends are pregnant too, and I’m just dreading one of them having a girl... and this mentally is soooooo not like me, can I start blaming hormones yet?

So sorry you were both so sick in previous pregnancies abc and pretty! That sounds awful!
I did have it with both boys and it kicked in at around 6-7 weeks. But it only lasted until 12 weeks and it was unpleasant but manageable.

Hi ladies
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi... I've been reading the thread a little while and feel like im getting to know you guys, but haven't commented as its still so early. But notice alot of you with similar due dates to me.
I'll introduce myself a little.
I have 2 boys. Didn't sway with either. Was hoping my first would be a boy and told myself I'd be happy either way with number 2 but knew if it was a boy I'd feel the pressure that I'd only get one more shot of a girl cuz my husband absolutely does not want more than 3. He didn't want more than 2 but since I originally wanted 4 or 5 we negotiated to 3.
So my thinking with swaying was I'd try the best I could to do everything in my power to get a girl and if I got a 3rd boy then I could know I couldn't have tried anything different and that's the way it's meant to be.... easier said than done though right!
I just see how different my brothers relationships are with my mom to mine. And my kids as apposed to theirs cuz once they got married they became their wives family. Not that they're not close but it's not the same. Even with my mil. My parents are much more involved in our lives than my husbands and I find it hard to process that I might not get that and go through moments when I find it so unfair that you can't do anything about it. (Atleast where I live you really can't)
Anyway I've convinced myself this is another boy. I just have a feeling.
And I'm in 2 minds whether or not to find out the gender. I'll be doing the harmony test anyway because we had health scares with my second boy and don't want to go through that again. But I don't know what's the best option for me. I didn't find out gender with either other pregnancy and I enjoyed not knowing. When my second son was born i was really overwhelmed.
He was prem and had other health issues that needed lots of tests for. My labor went so fast that the Dr wasn't even in the room when he was born and I was in so much shock over everything that I felt that he was a boy just added to all of that and felt like that information really weighed on me.
It may have been better to have known early in my pregnancy and processed that information by the time he was born.
On the other hand if I find out im having a boy now. For this last pregnancy I feel like it may ruin the rest of pregnancy. And while I'm sure I'll be disappointed once the baby is here I know I will love it whatever gender. But I'm worried that there is a possibility that finding out the gender at the birth could lead to me not enjoying those initial moments as I'll be mourning the daughter I'll never have.
Anyone here not finding out? Or you are? What are your thoughts?
In terms of symptoms. Got 0 morning sickness with my 2 boys. Like I didn't even feel pregnant till I started showing. But this time I'd say I feel a little nauseous. Not vomiting or anything too debilitating. Just a bit. Also doesn't feel like it'd feel better if I did vomit. No idea what it's meant to feel like. I'm still breastfeeding my son so can't really tell if my boobs have grown or hurt. They're always grown and hurt lol!
Anyway that's my novel for today. Think I'm on a different timezone to most of you ladies so definitely will be keeping up and responding you guys but probably when you're not on.
Congratulations to all of you x

Hi and welcome Simkan!
I'm an Aussie so we are on similar time zones.
So sorry you are going through this gender anxiety too. It is so hard.
I'm not sure what's right for you but I have decided to find out gender early. As much as I would have loved at least one delivery room gender surprise (I found out with both ds1 & 2) I just have to know and move on.
I was disappointed with ds1&2 but by the time they came I was excited to meet them and I know it will be the same this time if it's ds3. I find having their name picked early helps too with bonding.
I hope you find peace with whatever you decide.
Did you sway at all for this baby?

Did you sway at all for this baby?Thank you for the welcome! That's good to know you were excited by the time they came. Part of me thinks that might be the way to go... I enjoyed the speculation with the last two pregnancies but I know I won't this time. Any speculation that it's girl will just get my hopes up and for boy I'll feel sad so doing all the old wives tales won't be fun like with the other two.
Yes I did low calorie diet, pretty much vegetarian except little bit of chicken. No potassium, lots acid forming food. Took calcium, magnesium, folic acid and cranberry supplements.
Hubby wasn't interested in taking anything.
We did a 3 day cut off.
Shallow penetration
And I got up and peed straight after. Hoping it was enough but I know these things don't always work the way we hope.
I know both my boys we Bd on ovulation day. I had tried to do 2-3 day cut off with s2 but wasn't getting pregnant and got impatient so did it like 2 days before and then again on O in the hope that a girl would get there... but alas.
Though my diet at the time was very much meat and high carb.
I feel like if it were up to science I did everything right to get a girl. But of course it's not as much in our control as we'd like hey. Especially once you're actually pregnant!
When can you find out kittendreams?

Your sway sounds really good Simkan I really hope this is your girl xx
I will find out around the 23rd of July hopefully through panorama.
I'm not holding out much hope for a girl we dtd on o day like several hours before! I would have loved a cut off ( although ds1 & ds2 were cut offs) but we were doing e4d to cut out stress with opks and thats where my 4th day landed! I'm upset but it can't be undone. I did le diet, exercise and clomid so hoping that I have a chance with those but it's too painful to get my hopes up- I did last time with my sway opposite and it nearly broke me! This is really my last chance because dh really has said more more than 3 so it's really a nervous wait. I just hope I can accept the outcome with grace and hold it together for my family because I don't want to fall apart or be bitter. I just want to be grateful for what I I have and live my life. Anyway sorry for the novel haha I'm getting a bit dark at the moment. Gender anxiety really messes with your emotions!

Don't worry about the day, they say that the timing doesn't actually matter and so many people have girls on O day. I'm also really worried about holding it together, it's really hard when you have a family and can't take the time to have a breakdown.
And also of course that "you're not allowed " to be sad over gender.
I just found out tonight that one of my friends found out she's pregnant like 2 days before I did so we'll be due the same time. And I'm so scared she will get a girl and I won't. I mean it's a miracle she's pregnant. She was told she couldn't have kids years ago and then lost a baby at 13 weeks and then had a miracle little boy. So this would be most likely her last chance for a girl too and I'd be so happy for her. If I knew I was having one too! I hate thinking this way. I can't allow myself to be this invested in the outcome.
And I should be so happy to be pregnant and praying for it to be healthy because my pregnancy with my second was awful. We were basically told that he wasn't going to make it and I spent the entire pregnancy until he was born waiting for the baby to die inside me. Thankfully everything turned out ok, but I know what it's like to have "real" problems in pregnancy so I feel really stupid worrying over not having a girl.
but I know you ladies understand x

Thank you and ABC for asking! I think you're right -- it definitely let up, and honestly I had REALLY bad RLP with DD early. I think I might have SPD that never got diagnosed with her (my hips ached and hurt for an entire year after having her, as well -- though I did have three pregnancies thrown into that year, too!). So I'm wondering if that's what is happening now, especially since I guess this is the week the uterus starts rising from the uterus? Symptoms are definitely tapering (and I'm weaning off prednisone and have noticed no difference, so maybe that's coincidental timing or maybe it really wasn't doing anything? People in my immune communities said that the dose I'm on is super low, haha).
As for your decision -- I think this is so hard. I was always such an advocate for finding out early. I think though that it depends. In my case, I'm wanting to go so green that I even rescheduled my nuchal for earlier so I don't know. I legit don't trust myself to not be as depressed and legitimately suicidal as I was with DD, and I need to have a sibling for DD no matter what at this point -- I'm definitely doing this for her now, because if it was a girl, I think I'd really struggle with keeping it. But with DD, I know I told people they should find out because a.) I REALLY wanted a boy (still do!) and b.) people THOUGHT I was having a boy the whole time between OWT/how I looked/I guess how I am? As immediate as my love was with DD, and as hard as that pregnancy was with GD, I think I definitely would have been thinking it'd be a boy based on people's comments (though DH and I thought she was a girl from BFP!).
If you're like me, and are going to keep the baby no matter what (which I think most people are and do on here), I can see the benefit in not finding out until birth. If you would rather work through all GD issues beforehand, there's also a benefit to finding out, too!
I wish there was an easier answer!!
And aside: I started feeling like this pregnancy was a girl because of a dream I had early on! BUT, I also just had an AWFUL nightmare last night where I was pregnant with a boy... but lost him at 25 weeks?! Oh my god, it was such an awful dream! Dreams are clearly just our anxieties somehow! haha

That is exactly how I feel!

I totally understand. I think we all do -- I hope we all know this is a safe place to voice these thoughts! I don't think any less of any of you -- I GET it! I'm jealous of the people who always go, "I"ll be happy no matter what." I've had 8 losses -- TEN total babies -- and still I want this to be a boy more than anything and dread the opposite!

I don't know maybe some people really don't mind. I didn't think I'd be this obsessed. But I also assumed I'd have both.

Welcome Simkan and congrats!!!! I don't have much to add to what others have already said about the gender stuff but just to second TP's comment that this is definitely a safe space to vent all those feelings - and as you can tell most of us on here are dealing with the same feelings! It's really hard to want something so much and not be sure if you'll ever have it.
TP glad the cramping has stopped! I've had one or two dreams already that I miscarried - it really is just our anxieties being reflected in dreams I think!
I threw up for the first time this morning. It was first thing in the morning so it was just stomach acid, plus dry heaving for like 5 minutes. So lovely. Been mostly ok the rest of the day though. I did that with my boys (threw up every morning right after getting out of bed) so I'm wondering if that will start up again. And man this fatigue is killing me - did not feel anywhere near this tired the first two times!! Getting really anxious about Friday though as it's the "supposed to see the heartbeats" scan and last time I had that scan (in February) things did not go well (measured 11 days behind, no HB, m/c confirmed a week later). I feel like that baby may have stopped developing around the 5-5.5 week mark so since my scan last Friday was at 5.5 weeks I'm worrying about whether it happened again. Praying it will be different this time!

ABC, I completely feel you on the exhaustion. It is overwhelming. I almost fell asleep today in my car during a break from meetings. It was so tempting.
I’ve had a few throw up spells. I hate them. Every morning, I have to give myself a pep talk that I will not throw up! Haha! It’s funny and awful at the same time. And my gag reflex this round is out of control. But I guess I’d rather that than lose my cookies all day long.
The sea band is definitely working for me. I can tell such a difference during the day. I took it off when I got home and within 10 minutes was feeling extremely nauseated. I’m just glad I haven’t had to do zofran yet. I can still taste that crap from my last pregnancy (HG with a boy btw) That OWT about sickness being worse with girls is dumb.

And I totally understand your fear. Even without previous loss the anxiety and fear is so normal. I get so scared before every single check up and I'm lucky enough that I haven't experienced a mc, so I can only imagine! I'm sure you're going to get great news though!
Hopefully all of your morning sickness doesn't last for too much longer. Have to say even though I know everyone says it doesn't mean anything I'm sitting here wishing for some indication of morning sickness just because I had absolutely none with my boys. I have felt slightly nauseous mostly after eating food and don't know if it's in my head. But you guys are welcome to give me some of yours so I can have some hope! Heehee

Haha, I think it's funny how all of us are going bonkers over the OWTs at the same time we're sitting here going, "There's nothing to it!" I know I didn't vomit once with DD (or any of my pregnancies), though I had nausea with all of them at some point except that first loss and this one I've had maybe 15 minutes total of moments of nausea (and none in days, which I am HOPING to mean the placenta took over!). I did have very strong nausea and food aversions with DD from conception until 16 weeks or so, though. No food aversions at all now! I'll eat anything, haha. Which I should have been using to eat quite healthy, since I had trouble eating anything but eggs and useless carbs with DD, but instead I'm rebelling against my years of HE dieting haha.
One thing I noticed yesterday was how thick my hair has gotten. I DO have very thick, nice hair normally -- it's my most complimented feature. But this is getting to the point where I might have to get it thinned. My hair was gorgeous with DD though, so I'm not taking it too much as an OWT. I remember when I was about 13 or 14 weeks pregnant with her and still hiding it that in-laws were raving about my hair asking what I was doing to it and I had to lie and say I changed conditioners haha. Just sharing a symptom since I'm breaking all my hair ties! It wasn't ever this bad with DD (though maybe that could be because I am legitimately still eating better than I was before and with her). I'm way more constipated than I ever was with her too... ugh, THAT I am assuming is the extra progesterone I'm still taking.
ABC, I am so excited for your scan. I know how hard it is to anticipate and dread them (my next one is Tuesday and I'm already dreading Wednesday, fearing that I'll be a mess all day from bad news the night before?!). And I know we know firsthand that symptoms can be deceptive. But nausea and fatigue are supposed to be increased and earlier with twins, which you're getting, which to me seems like a great sign!! And I'll put money down on at least one of them being a girl!!!!
Since I think all of your are not STMs, how early did you show with your pregnancies following your first? I am seriously thinking this isn't bloat anymore (11 weeks today), and was hoping to hide it for awhile (I didn't even start showing with DD until 22 or 23 weeks). That seems... way different now haha. I also feel weird thinking or phrasing it as "my second" since it's not, you know? But also can't even imagine telling people, "Oh yes, it's my 10th pregnancy," or "Well this would be my 12th kid..." I also wonder if those pregnancies and pretty much all on top of each other over the last 2+ years is why my uterus might be showing sooner?
kittendreams
June 14th, 2018, 05:27 PM
TP I showed by 10 weeks with both boys but that was because I could not stop eating! I was starving or sick all the time even in the night- I kept food next to me to snack on in the night haha. It would be 1 am and I would be munching croissant or crackers!
My nausea had eased by 11 weeks with ds1 and yes I think that's because the placenta had taken over by then. It was just gone one day and I was like woah this is awesome.
Ds2 was more like 12 weeks.
Still no real ms for me but I'm only 5+3 so plenty of time yet!
I know these scans are stressful for you girls and I'm keeping you in my thoughts and sending you all my positive vibes for healthy rainbow babies xxx

TP, I joke with friends that by the 3rd pregnancy, I showed when I walked outta the bedroom. [emoji23][emoji23] it was bad. This time, I am SO bloated. Uncontrollably. And I’m even on stool softeners this early on. That progesterone is no joke.

Thanks ladies :) I feel more positive about things, at least for now LOL! I was very nervous this morning but really calm on the drive to the doctor - really felt that God was telling me over and over that they were both OK!!
Kitten I'm ok I get nauseated when I'm hungry and I'm pretty hungry most of the time now!! But most foods still don't sound/taste good so that's tough. I'm wondering if part of all that is a result of doing LE for so long... I feel like my body is not used to or not wanting to eat more! I've had headaches too!! Glad your symptoms are picking up!!!! While not pleasant they can be reassuring :)
Mamabird I think we'll find out genders but I'm not sure when. Thinking of waiting until later in the pregnancy so I can just focus on getting them to the point of viability first since I'll be at higher risk of preterm birth and I'm sooooo scared of that right now.
I don't know if Ramzi "works" with twins (we all know it's been debunked anyways!) but they are both located right in the top center of the sacs which is interesting! I've already decided that since the one with the slower HB measures just the tiniest bit larger than the other that maybe that's a boy and the other a girl LOL! That's based totally on unproven OWTs of course!!!!

Hannah I may have to try one of those Seabands if my nausea gets worse. I think I used one with DS1 but I can't remember if it helped that much. Have you tried Preggie Pops? They sell them at Target in the pregnancy test section. I've never tried them but I got some for my friend who is pregnant when she was really sick (she had HG) and she loved them and said they helped. I may have to try those too. Although my nausea is not terrible yet... I mainly just feel gross a lot of the time and hungry. My fatigue - which wasn't that bad this past week - has been hitting me hard again since last night. I slept like 9/10 hours last night and then have already had a 1.5 hour nap today and I still feel tired.
Does anyone use those pant extender things or a belly band to be able to wear your jeans/pants longer? Do they work well? My pants are already getting a little tight. The doctor yesterday warned me that I would be getting big fast this time.

Sorry so delayed! No wifi still and awful cell service!!!!! The past few days my exhaustion has picked up. My hunger isn’t very high and nothing sounds good either. I have waves of nausea but nothing too bad. I almost worry I feel too good, if that makes sense. I have my first appointment a week from Wednesday. Fingers crossed all goes well.
I also swear I’m already showing. When I suck in all the way as hard as I can there’s a bump?! I’m only 6 w 4 d or 7 weeks (I still haven’t picked what date to go by hahaha).
I am so so so excited to see these babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep those u/s pics coming ladies! Can’t wait for WiFi so I can actually check in more frequently than once a week!

I’m on Phenergan, I have Preggie Pops, idk if they work but they’re tasty LOL. I’ve ordered a seaband but it’s not here yet. I’m always hungry but no cravings and nothing sounds good, typical boy complaint I believe so that has me a bit bummed. This is my u/s but I’ve got another coming up. 39715

Oh and I am totally showing! I was thin (100 lbs) so even after a big meal I typically looked pregnant, but now I just look huge! I’ve been using a hair tie on my pants, but I finally caved and ordered some maternity pants just so I’d be more comfortable.

ABC, I did the hair tie trick where you just extend the button hole and it worked for me. But let’s just be honest, I love maternity clothes. I just think they are so comfortable. So the faster I can just skip to those, the better. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Looking forward to seeing all of the ultrasounds. Think I'm only going to have a dating scan on the 9th of July. I'm not sure why it's in so long. Both other times I've gone at 8 weeks but I'm already nearly 7 so that seems like a long way away.

Sea bands and lemon water helped me.
You all are lucky to get early scans, in the UK we have to wait until at least 12 weeks and don't get to hear the hb until 16!

Loving these scans girls! I can't wait for mine in 4 weeks!
My nausea is getting worse just like with my sons although it has started earlier this pregnancy. The one symptom which is very different this time is headaches night and day- not splitting but dull? Very noticeable that's for sure! Anyone else had these?

I've had these and never did with DD, so I was hoping it was the boy OWT I'd heard about, but since I know none of this truly has anything to do with gender, I think we're all getting ourselves worked up! Especially the nausea one -- ladies remember something like 80% of pregnancies HAVE MS and nausea! And 80% of pregnancies are not one gender :P
I'm holding out on the maternity wear! I'm definitely feeling tight and had to start wearing my "fat" shorts. I have maternity shorts but I know those kind of accentuate the bump, and I'm still trying to hide this awhile longer! But I'm definitely unbuttoning after meals haha.
Next scan tomorrow at 11w5d! Nervous as always!

That totally makes sense! I even posted about it, haha. I am 12 weeks this week and can't believe it. With DD, it dragged because of how nauseous and controlling my food aversions were. Now I practically forget I'm pregnant outside of the boob changes and my clothes not fitting. And my hips D:

Thanks ladies for the hair tie trick!! I'll try that!!! I guess it probably wont work for too long.. I've been reading about twin pregnancies the past couple of days and it sounds like I'm going to get really big really fast :( Pretty worried about that!
Kiku glad you are feeling pretty well and that you have a doc appt scheduled!! Your symptoms sounds pretty similar to mine and I'm carrying twins so I wouldn't worry too much!
Pretty yay for your upcoming ultrasound! How far along will you be when you have that? Cassidy is yours today? I know it was this week - let us know!
Kitten and TP - I've been having headaches too, and nasal congestion. My sinuses suck anyways but I think the pregnancy hormones are making them even worse. I think it may just be my sinuses causing the headaches... who knows.

Kittendreams, yeah I've been having symptoms coming and going. Was feeling some nausea every afternoon and haven't had any the past 2 days which has me a little worried. Though it was very little nausea to begin with.
I also on Saturday and Sunday had a really bad pain in my ribs. Felt like a stitch which I hadn't had with my other pregnancies. I thought maybe this one was growing quite high up maybe but it seems to have subsided.
Definitely feeling the tiredness. My four year old asked me to lie with him at bed time last night. I past out with him at 7, woke up at 10:30 went to prepare the kids school lunches and went straight back to bed and still struggled to get up this morning:/

I had that with this pregnancy so far (when i had symptoms at all) and I definitely remember that with DD. It seemed like every time I panicked about my nausea going away with her, I'd get twice as much the next day (or even a few hours later!) ;)
And in other news, just received an outrageous bill from my endometrial biopsy in DECEMBER. 700!!! I'm so stressed. I feel so haunted by these losses at every step of this process it seems. We had even met our deductible so now I'm even more confused why insurance hadn't covered the procedure.

TP, you can always have the office resubmit to insurance. Also, you can apply for assistance if it’s unreasonable. We had to do payment plans with our last babe and had unexpected costs come up and ended up with an outrageous bill. We finally got that paid off. But a payment plan was the only way.

Okay ladies. We have exactly 10 people in our lives who know about this pregnancy. We are a little scared to announce it to family, being as this is our 5th little love and they just begged us to stop at 3. [emoji51][emoji51][emoji30] We plan on telling them at 12 weeks. We’re tempted to wait until I just can’t hide it any longer. but here’s the thing, I kinda want to make it memorable. So do y’all have any ideas? And I guess after announcing it to family, how do you announce the 5th?!? I mean, do people just expect you not to announce it? Haha, can you tell we don’t think this one will be positively received by many?

I totally think a memorable (memorable for you atleast) announcement is always nice. 1st baby or 5th baby or 10th baby it's always a celebration.
Do you mean an in person announcement or social media announcement?
I saw this cute thing on pinterest. It was done like a movie poster. I'll try upload a picture of it. It made me chuckle. If we end up with a "surprise " after this baby I think I'll do something like it.
In person I don't really know for a 5th... only have done a second baby so far and I had my son ask family members to read him the book "there's a house in mummy's tummy ".
I'm sure they will all be excited when you announce it.

Oh, I know :( I'm stressed because we're already doing so any payment plans for everything else still! (Still paying off the IVF waste of time; still paying off the scans FOR IVF; still paying off the bloodwork!). Now a whole other huge bill to pay every month if I can get this split up :/ And I'm also constantly stressed since we still haven't paid all of the genetic testing yet for IVF -- I keep dreading that bill.
Insurance paid SOME of it, which is why I'm like, "Wait... we should only have had to pay 10% max." I'm going to call insurance today, but that's always such a frustrating process as I'm sure my fellow Americans know haha
As for announcing -- I think it's wonderful you still want to do something special! Just because it's number 5 doesn't make baby any less special!! I wonder if you could think of things that come in 5s and do something fun with that. I thought of 'five golden rings' in the Christmas song? Partridge in a pear tree? Especially since baby will be due a month or so after Christmas, right? :) Maybe a "We're getting our five golden rings a little late for Christmas"?
I love fun announcements!

Sorry TP - dealing with insurance and the high cost of everything health-related is so frustrating. We maxed out our FSA this year thinking we'd be using it for the labor & delivery of a baby and instead so far we've been using it for my D&C, RPL testing, etc.
Did you have your scan yet?
I'm having a hard time keeping up with this board the past few days - I'm just so ridiculously tired. I feel like I could sleep all day long. The nausea seems to be slightly picking up too - but I'm surprised I'm not vomiting. Wishing I had another ultrasound this week instead of having to wait until next Thursday - I already need to know again that all is ok!

Hi guys!
I just left the ER with bleeding. I should be 7 weeks pregnant today minimum. The ultrasoundshowed a yolk sac but no fetal pole. So exactly what a 5 week ultrasound would show. They asked if my dates were off but I know it's not- my first positive test was May 24. My HCG is only 4,769 which is around 4-5 week levels. I need to follow up in a week for another ultrasound and possible D/C. I know I’m losing this baby there’s no way it should only be five weeks.
Anyway loving all the good news here- I’ll probably keep checking in on you guys!!! For those that had losses, when did you start to try again?

I went in at 7 weeks for my first ultrasound and the sac measured 5 weeks 4 days with no HB or fetal pole. I knew my dates were correct. The m/c was confirmed a week later and I had a D&C a few days after that. The D&C was on March 9 and we started ttc again (and got pregnant) on my cycle that started May 1 - after I'd had one full cycle after the first AF after the D&C.
Again I'm soooo sorry :( :( I will hope for a miracle and that your situation turns out better than mine but please take good care of yourself and know that we are all here for you!!!! You've had so.much going on lately with your move and I'm just so sad you're now having to go through this!

I know you asked when we loss moms started trying again. In my case, I often tried right away, though obviously to no success. With this pregnancy, I had had my last loss in the beginning of February. I had my FET where I had one day of positive HPTs, but beta was very low/unviable the next day and not even considered a chemical. I think whenever feels right to you is the right time.

Measured 12w1d, so 3 days ahead of schedule and 5 days ahead of last time. HB was 158, but trying not to let that get me. DD's was certainly never that high, so who knows -- I wonder if my prednisone and thyroid drug being high can influence baby's heartrate too since mine is higher. BP is higher than normal for me too -- definitely still healthy, but I'm normally hypotensive during pregnancy! Maybe it was how anxious I was :hide:

Kiku... I’m so sorry your scan sounds just like my first miscarriage. I tried right away after that one and then I ended with another miscarriage. So for me I had to take time and figure out why it kept happening. All they could figure was all the extra weight I had gained. So I had to take a year to heal and fix myself and then I’m now a week out from having my rainbow baby. Keeping you in my prayers that the lord will present you with a miracle. So many hugs to you. Haha, thank you ladies! I'll take any sort of boy vibes at all. One of my BFFs (who barely ever posts on here anymore) thinks boy too but then I can just as easily convince myself that there's forking in what may be the nub (which IF that's a nub I see in this shot -- I know it's at least not cord since we did imagining on that. Maybe leg though), or that the weird little gap at the bottom is vagina (although maybe that's just the imagining haha). I've always been a passive skull believer (mostly because DD had the most beautiful round head in scans haha -- even after birth, too!) and this skull looks different, but I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up. I think I'll cry for days if I did get strong boy clues -- I'd be so over the moon, I can't even imagine what it is to feel that happy!
I keep joking with everyone -- I'm going to walk into my nuchal next week and immediately cover my eyes and the tech will probably think I'm crazy!
And omg girlsway, that would have made me nuts too!! This baby was even sleeping when we got that high heartrate, so seeing 120 would have made me panic! Glad everything was ok! And also makes me think more that maybe my heartrate effects baby (I have tachycardia because of how high my thyroid medication needs to be, so my resting heart is in the early 100s!)

TP, I am cracking up at your description during your scan. I feel like that’s what I will need to do for the anatomy scan!!! Just cover my eyes. We genuinely do want to be surprised at birth.
I’m genuinely struggling not to tell my 8 year old. She knows something is up. I have nausea from 4pm on and I beg to go to bed. The gig is about to be up.

Does anyone take Diclegis (the unisom/b6 medicine... I think it's under different names in different countries)? I took it with DS2 and don't remember it helping much but I don't know that I was that consistent with it. Thinking of asking for some. Although I read that it really makes you tired and I'm already dealing with that - so that may be a no-go for me. But the nausea is getting worse and I threw up tonight so I think things are going to get a lot more unpleasant now...
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
ABC I did with DS2 and it was a lifesaver. I preferred feeling tired to vomiting all day. Diclegis worked much better for me than the Unisom/B6 because the diclegis is slow release so it worked for longer. I seriously don't know how I would have functioned without it.

I felt bad since I knew you guys might worry, but also felt so bad about kiku's post and felt torn!
And ugh, I thought I saw a girlish nub during... then also thought I saw some stacking, and keep going both ways even with this shot. I see how this early means nothing haha. I was so hoping one of you would come in and say you thought you saw something :P
And oh! About Ramzi? My midwife was actually surprised that the placenta is pretty much on all sides but the bottom. She said that's fine if not typical, but I thought that was funny -- so I probably never could have applied Ramzi to this baby lol.
Oh TP, that was thoughtful of you!!! I'm actually getting some joy from everyone else having good scans. I think it actually gives me hope for the future. Plus I don't want any of you to go through this too right now!!!!! Plus you all aren't rubbing anything in, it's different here, just a very supportive place. I want nothing but the best for all of you and these winter babies!!!
And TP, on that note. LOVE THIS PHOTO! I'm getting boy vibes for sure but no can see the nub really I don't think!

There is definitely hope, Kikurose!!! I really almost gave up after my 3rd m/c in March... it was my 3rd in 8 months and we really thought that one was going to stick (that was the one I described to you the other day). I was so depressed - didn't think I wanted to try again. Then after all our fertility testing came back normal we decided we would try again but I wanted to wait until at least June. DH kind of pushed me (he wanted another baby as much as me) to start in May so I said fine, OK, and now we're pregnant with twins! It's still very early and I'm still scared but we're further than we got with the three m/c's. I now really believe that most of the time with m/cs it really does come down to "bad luck" - something just doesn't go right at the very beginning and there's nothing you could have done to change it. I had bad luck 3 times in a row I guess! But you're in the right place here b/c as you said this is such a supportive board, and SO many of us have gone through this as well and while that doesn't make going through it any easier, I think it helps to know you aren't alone and there is always a place to turn to when you need to!
I hope you are settling in well after your move!! Hang in there - as I said I really think the waiting is the worst part :(

Ladies, I had such an awful dream I woke up in the middle of the night. I dreamt I told my mom we were expecting and she said, "You're scared because it's a girl." And I freaked out in the dream and kept trying to yell that I felt so disrespected after all our losses for anyone to make gender comments.
So both dreams where it was a girl, it was my mom telling me?!? My mom isn't even dead guys lol -- I know this isn't some message from beyond. But I'm wondering if the deeper anxiety is linked there? And maybe it was all just on my mind since I've been debating whether to tell her since I'm so close to having trouble hiding this bump!
And now of course -- panicked again at what the dream could mean :(

And now of course -- panicked again at what the dream could mean :(I think the dreams are all from your gender anxiety - I really do. I think it's natural when you are very anxious/stressed about something for it to affect your dreams. I really wouldn't interpret it as a sign of what you are having :)
My three reoccurring dreams over the years: my teeth all fall out (yea I know it's a common one but I've had it several times!), I failed a college class and never actually graduated college, and before I got married I would have recurrent dreams that I got pregnant, was unmarried & didn't know who the father was. LOL!! Pretty random, have no idea where they came/come from but probably some weird underlying anxieties I have. As of today I still have all my teeth, I DID graduate college (even have a master's), and have never been an unmarried mother (nor was I ever a crazy promiscuous person in my dating life!). Dreams are fascinating but I think sometimes they are totally random and other times they reflect more of our daytime thoughts and feelings more than anything else.
Any my mom has the weirdest, most random dreams!!! She tells me about them sometimes and I'm like what the heck is wrong with you, LOL!!!

Sent from my SM-G950U using TapatalkThe CB digital needs an hcg of like 25-50 miu/ml to be positive. Based on your line this morning I don't think you're quite there yet but probably pretty close (I've taken a lot of FRERs and done a lot of hcg blood draws LOL!!). I'd wait another day or two before trying a digital again. Remember FRER can be positive with an hcg level of like 5 - it's crazy sensitive!! So it'll sometimes be positive well before a digital will.

Oh I’ve some really strange dreams too! In fact last night I dreamt I wouldn’t change this LO’s diaper so I wouldn’t have to know if it’s a boy or girl! LOL, I guess I went the ignorance is bliss route?
Also, I am wearing my sea bands, and I haven’t thrown up since! I don’t know if it’s working or a placebo effect but I was skeptical to begin with but now I’m afraid to take it off!
I had another scan and the heartbeat is 177, so a huge sigh of relief.
Quick question, what timeframe does everyone plan on telling non family, like co workers?

Welcome Eighme, my digital test only showed up quite late this time round too I wouldn't worry about that. Congratulations!
Oh TP I so understand your anxiety! If it makes you feel better if read an OWT that whatever gender you dream you're having the opposite. I know I dreamt I had a girl last time round and it was a boy. Though I think these things really are our hopes or anxieties. I haven't actually had any dreams this time round.... now that I think about it of anything.... my other pregnancies that was almost how I knew I was pregnant because the dreams were so real and weird. Not sure if vivid dreams is a boy thing maybe? (Holding thumbs that it is for you... and I guess for me too since I haven't had them this time round)
Generally sorry if I'm quiet for bulks of time. I don't know what is going on with the ap but it will sign me out and then tell me my details are wrong when they're not. And then I try log in through the website and it kinda works but then doesn't load or let me reply always. But I do try check this daily.
So I'm actually going for a scan next week. My GP booked it for me. I got the fright of my life the other day. I went for bloods and got a call from her to call back and she sounded very serious. I was like. Ok here we go. She's going to tell me my HCG levels are not matching up with my timeline and that I'm miscarrying. Thank God that's not what she said! But I was mentally preparing myself before I called back.
Turns out my iron is dangerously low. She said I won't be able to grow a baby at the level it is so I'm going in on Tuesday for an iron infusion. Hopefully that will be the last of "bad" news for the pregnancy.

And I wanted to give you hope, just in case! We have four boys and so far we’ve survived! They’re pretty rad! Although like you, we’d love to add a girl into the mix! So happy for you!! Any symptoms? As our group is growing (yay!), would you ladies like me to edit the first page on this thread to list everyone's due dates and how they swayed (and confirmed genders when known)? I've seen other due date boards do this but let me know what you think. It would be fun to track when everyone's due (especially later on) since it's hard to keep up with that!

But when it's in front of me I can eat it. It doesn't make me sick and isn't as bad as I thought it would be once I start eating. Don't know if that makes sense at all.

Hannah I can't eat meat :( My guess is part of that is b/c I was mostly vegetarian for over a year on LE and I'm just not used to meat - but I can't stomach it right now especially chicken. I had chicken aversions with my boys early on too. Basically I'm eating a lot of dairy to get protein. Most of the time only a few things even sound good but I'm getting a lot more hungry so there seems to be more that I can stomach now!
Pbn - YES my family has done that pencil test for generations and it's been eerily accurate for the women on my mom's side!! My mom tried it again on me after we found out it was twins and it said boy boy girl but seemed to then stop, which freaked me out (because where is the 4th baby?) so I don't want to believe it! She was moving her arm a lot though and I know when we did it on me before I ever had kids it would always do boy girl boy so maybe it's not right for me! Was it right for you and those in your DDG?
OK I'll watch the thread - right now we're at 42 pages so getting there :)
If you ladies send me your DD's I'll add them on the first page!

Ladies I’m sad to report that I have added “seafood” to my list of food aversions. This one hurts. I am a Southern raised, Midwest misplaced woman and seafood was one of my comforts. I literally stared at a plate of boiled shrimp and could NOT will myself to eat it. So frustrating. Anyone else getting really strong food aversions?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was me with my DD! I ordered calamari and could not even look at it. I was so sad!
Versus now, I've had no food aversions at all and have eaten way too much of everything lol
And @sinkan, re: vivid dreams. I wish I could say that was a boy thing, but I had them with DD and even when not pregnant! I had yet ANOTHER dream of a girl (this time dreamed of a nuchal scan and was REALLY angry in the dream after that I was still not getting what I want). I know the OWT is always the opposite, but I had dreams of a girl with DD! It's making my much desired sleep less appealing, all these dreams!

TP, I have had several dreams where this baby is a boy and just cried and cried. You are not alone in your anxiety. And I understand completely. We are team green for the sole reason that I don’t want to face the depression possibility if it is another little boy. Pregnancy is already so tough with an older body, 4 kids demanding my attention & normal pregnancy stuff. I really hate to think of the low. But the chance is still 50/50. I want to think positive and enjoy this pregnancy.

Has anyone tried the pencil gender test? It was a big hit in my ddg for a bit of fun! If anyone wants to try it here's a tutorial [emoji12]
https://youtu.be/L_ESwpLFt2UThis seems to be the same theory as the ring test
In my first pregnancy the ring test said boy and was right. We tried it on my mom and it went boy, stop, boy, stop, girl, stop and didn't start again which was so freaky and correct that I was like- yep this is real. 100%
Then it showed girl for my second pregnancy which was not. So now I'm a sceptic.

Sorry I haven't contributed much since first saying hi. Have been struggling with juggling 2 toddlers and horrible nausea and vomiting. So much worse than with DS1 &DS2 but DS2 was much worse than DS1 so makes me think another boy. Haven't had food aversions (don't want red meat though) but craving custard and cheese like crazy! I can understand the low patience with kids, I seem to be frustrated at my 2 yr old all the time at the moment and just don't have the patience to deal with his tantrums like I used to.
Had my NT scan today. Was trying to go team green so booked it early - showing 11w6 days. Promised myself I would not look at the nub area but couldn't help myself occasionally, not clear at this gestation anyway I know. Not sure how I will cope with anatomy scan, will just need to keep my eyes closed! Hope everybody coping ok.

Just left the doctors office. There is a baby with a weak heart beat. It’s measuring six weeks one day. I have a subchorionic hemorrhage which is likely causing the bleeding. I have to go on bed rest. I have to go in for another scan on Monday to ascertain fetal viability. I am so confused.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate it. I'm getting betas done as well. As you all know I was charting and my first positive test was May 24 with a FRER. I just don't understand how the baby is so behind?!? Last week it measured 5 weeks and today it measured exactly a week later at 6 weeks. I still believe something is wrong, but I'm trying to be hopeful as well. I have a follow-up ultrasound next Monday and hoping for no bleeding and a strong heart beat, but preparing for the opposite.

Kiku, I’m hoping that you continue to see a growing bub. I have heard crazier stories that ended in a healthy, happy little one in the end. In fact, our 2nd son was conceived and we still have NO idea how. I was tracking and charting and all of the ttc things. And he just showed up one day. It was crazy. I also had a SCH with him. It was scary in the beginning but with rest, we ended up with a growing baby & healthy placenta. Amazingly. Praying that for you too!

Kiku - I'm sorry for the continued limbo you are in!! You should be about 8 weeks right? When did AF start and when do you think you ovulated? Just trying to figure out if the dates could be off enough to explain some of the discrepancy with how you're measuring. Does the SCH have any affect on how baby grows? I don't know much about them. Did the doctor have any other explanations for you?
Will be praying that this all turns out OK and that this little baby is a miracle in the process!! But again I'm so sorry you're having to go through this period of limbo and not knowing what's going on - it's the absolute worst!! Vent here any time you need to!!!

Thank you so much ABC. So much limbo, is right. Just waiting and waiting... AF started 5/1. I should be 8 weeks today. I thought I ovulated on 5/13. My first positive test was on 5/24 so 11 dpo. My OB didn't really have any explanations. I think miscarriage is still a HUGE possibility at this point, but she was very kind and encouraging. I know miracles can happen, but I feel like there's something wrong and something doesn't add up! BUT I also know I don't know everything... Not finding much encouraging about a weak heartbeat. She didn't even measure it. But I was shocked a baby was there!

Oh kiku, I'm so sorry for the limbo you're in! A HB is still a huge positive (and no one measured this baby's HBs the first three scans, just checked to see it was there!) and I'm hoping so much for good news for you.
And we seem to keep having our scans at the same time (today was nuchal!). I legitimately said, "Don't let me see nub -- I'll know and don't want to know!" She insisted she didn't even check herself and only gave me shots without it, but these two have me pretty devastated. I showed them to some people who think these aren't nubs so IDK. During the scan, as like last time, I thought I briefly saw both a pointy up and long nub at differing times when I peeked. Clearly my good guessing only applies to everybod else's scans! Measured 12w5d.

On top of everything else, we had some issues with the nasal bone :/ The tech insists she saw it but it's not "bright enough" and they pushed the NIPT, so I guess I'll be doing it afterall. Probably won't request sex though I feel gutted already.

Hi guys, so I went for my first scan today. It went well. I was so nervous before but baby there measuring 8 weeks (im 8 weeks tomorrow so thats right) with a hb of 162.
Is 8 weeks too late to do Ramzi? The photos I got are not great quality because their printer was broken. She said they'd post me proper ones. I have no idea what I'm looking for.
Still not sure if I want to go team green.
I thought I wouldn't enjoy my pregnancy if I found out that it is a boy but as the weeks go by I feel less invested in that it HAS to be a girl. So maybe a little bit of speculation could be fun..
I'll upload a pic but like I said the quality is pretty bad I can't tell where the bright area is that could be the placenta. Is it the bit that bumps inwards towards the baby or the bit underneath? I'm pretty sure I saw the umbilical cord going towards the left of the pic. (Don't know if that's an indication)
It was abdominal.

Your placenta looks like it's 3/4 the way around like mine! Haha, I am more and more convinced that Ramzi is bunk because of this :P I'm reading lots of cases where the placenta is neither "right" nor "left" really!
And thank you all for talking me down! I'm still anxious about the nasal bone stuff (we were going to tell my mom and sisters this weekend and now I'm not sure if I should!), and also still anxious about the nub stuff. Part of me is thinking, if that IS cord, wouldn't a boy nub be too big to be obscured by a cord? Though at the same time, even 20 week scans have hidden genitals with the cord, right? And I keep remembering my scan -- wondering if the little bit sticking up I thought I saw that wiggled briefly was cord or maybe penis, or if the thin white line I thought I saw was girl nub or maybe cord... sigh.
Baby wasn't moving until prodded (again) and was stubborn in even giving the good nuchal pic! DD never, ever stopped moving. Ever. (Still doesn't... lol). So it throws me everytime I see an unmoving baby on the screen! Weirdly, despite all my emotional turmoil with the maybe nubs and maybe nasal bone issue, when the baby did move, it started to suck its thumb. THAT, weirdly, made me feel this sudden rush of, "It's a boy." Obviously I'm stopping myself from investing anything in that, but it was a weird rush of feeling. Maybe self delusion...
I am seriously unchecking the 'gender' part of the NIPT. Lol. I can't do it!
How is everyone feeling?! My boobs still ache briefly at times but I'm almost fully weaned from prednisone at this point and still feel fine (though I'm breaking out now! I'm hoping it's in reaction to that and not the girls OWT, since I broke out bad with DD... or maybe because I keep sleeping in my drool >_> I never get why acne was the girls OWT too since testosterone is what causes acne lol)

If it makes you feel better if also don't really get acne but got terrible gigantic pimples around my chin and cheeks with both my boys. I was looking and saw what I thought were testicals. I was thinking to myself- well there you have it. It's a boy and the technician pointed at what I was looking at and said- there are the kidneys [emoji85] obviously I have no clue. So yeah definitely very likely to be hidden at this stage.
I'm not sure what the rules are where you live but here in New Zealand they are not allowed to tell you the sex before 20 weeks. They can't even say- I think it's a...
So that goes to show how little they can really see at 12 weeks.

I'm in the U.S. where we have no rules! haha. But omg, thank you, that makes me feel better. I never have good skin normally anyway and of course drop my normal skin routine in pregnancy since a lot of the stuff I'd use is unsafe in the first tri, so no wonder my skin goes bonkers!
And I'm so jealous you're in NZ. I have wanted to visit there for eons. Such a beautiful country!
@Eighme: So mine was right with DD (and I had nausea after conception with her!). I desperately wanted a boy and DH said he felt it was a girl the day after BFP. And I just knew. I even found an old post of mine on a different site when I was 9 weeks pregnant with her freaking out about having a girl -- and clearly I was right! But I know soooo many people who have been wrong too (or had no feeling too). DH thought this one was a boy from BFP, so I hope he's right. He also had the feeling this baby would go all the way as soon as he found out, and admitted he never had feelings on our losses, so hopefully he's more intuitive than me! Though I did have a dream of twin boys before I even conceived my 7th loss... which ended up being twins.

Ladies I'm freaking out a bit - I have what I *think* might be a cold sore in the corner of my lips and I'm not sure if I've ever had one before. Maybe I have - I really don't know, though I definitely don't remember ever having one of those real big, classic ones that anyone can see looking at your lips. What I have in the corner of my lips is not noticeable unless you look closely but it looks like there are a couple of small blisters, and the general area feels kind of puffy/gross. I get cankor sores inside my mouth and little bumps on my tongue ALL the time and I have some of those right now too. My mouth has basically been in a lot of pain the past few days. Anyways... I'm worried because if I haven't had the virus (the herpes virus) that causes cold sores I don't know if having it the first time can cause problems for the babies. I've read mixed stuff online. I know they are mainly a problem if you get them at the end of pregnancy as the virus can be really dangerous to newborns. Does anyone have any experience with this??? I have my OB appt tomorrow so I'll talk to him about it. I don't know if I should ask to be tested to see if I have the virus or have previous antibodies to it?
Ugh - I hate having to worry about this stuff in pregnancy. Getting viruses/bacteria/diseases that could harm a baby is seriously my worst pregnancy fear (however overblown the fears may be).

ABC, I so understand your anxiety!! I actually had this exact scenario with one of my losses (the twins, actually, so maybe it's a twin thing?!), and we know it had nothing to do with my losses. Canker sores totally increase during pregnancy so it could easily just be those. Is it possible they're little zits, too?
And my understanding is that the herpes virus is more of an issue when it's direct exposure to a newborn -- so like kissing with a sore, or sores in the birth canal. The late pregnancy bit with the virus has to do with birth an exposure to the infant if born vaginally because there wasn't enough time for the mother to get antibodies. And I think most people have some exposure or antibodies anyway (isn't something like 75% of the population carrying some form of the virus, even if from chicken pox as a kid?). So I think you're good no matter what!!
But I 100% understand your feelings!

Thanks TP!! Yea I read that most adults have been exposed to the cold sore type of herpes virus even if they don't get cold sores. I'm guessing I have been - I just asked DH if he gets them and he said yea and after 10 years together I'm guessing he would have exposed me by now!! Plus I've had chicken pox and have been tested for immunity to other childhood things (like fifth's disease I think?) and got sick a lot as a kid. Who knows. I'll ask the doc too tomorrow - again I just hate having to worry about this kind of stuff.
Yea my cankor sores are crazy right now - the whole inside of my mouth feels like it's covered in sores. But those I KNOW I'm especially prone to even when not pregnant. It's ok ABC, most people have already had them and just don't get them very often. When you're pregnant your immune system is suppressed a bit and it can cause them to flare up.
I actually have a thread where I (inexcusably and unprofessionally) get into an argument with some people about this, LOL. Read it if you dare!!! https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/pregnancy-talk/54387-genetic-disorder.html
According to my research it is only a problem if you're just giving birth right when you have caught the virus for the first time (so third tri for sure, likelier still late in the 3rd tri) and then the baby is born sick or contracts it right after giving birth (this is a concern when women get the virus in the hospital, from health care workers, which has sadly actually happened) and can't fight it off. But if you've had the virus for a while your baby will have your immunity for at least 6 months if not longer and by then baby will be old enough to fight it off.

Arrghhhhh!!! **** the word is ****!!!
The reason why the words c u b e and s t r e a m (this is ** out in many of my essays) are blanked out is because there are a couple of clinics that go by that name in countries in which gender selection is illegal. We try to avoid their notice because there is concern that if they get wind of any particular person who is doing IVF/PGD with a preferred gender, they will refuse to tell them the gender of their blastocysts. There is kind of a wink, wink, nudge, nudge system in place where they'll tell you what the genders are and then let you pick the one you want, which is not gender selection per se.
But if they have incontrovertible proof that we are using that system to do gender selection, we fear they will refuse to tell anyone the gender and let them select their DG (and this has sadly in fact happened a couple times, the doctor just decides "I'm not telling these people the gender" and then they've gone through the entire expensive IVF/PGD procedure only to get another of the gender they already have)
We used to just try to tell people "don't say the name of the clinic" but then people still did, we'd get newbies who didn't know better still using the clinics' names and so we decided that we'd just blank out the word totally so as not to attract their attention.
I know it's annoying but there is a higher purpose to it. :)

BBB... I am dying.
ABC, I don’t get cold sores BUT I get these annoying deep cuts in the corners of my mouth that are painful and ridiculous. They almost appear like a cold sore but they are not. I’ve found that oil helps a ton. Chapstick type things were pointless for me but the oil helped a ton. I mixed it with a bit of a healing essential oil, I think Frankincense.

Thanks atomic!! Yea that's largely what I saw when Googling it as well - that it's a bigger issue late in pregnancy/after baby is born. But then I found a few random things that would say things like "if you have it for the first time it COULD cross the placenta and cause harm/miscarriage". But that doesn't seem to be proven or at least it's not what most medical websites say. Anyways - like you said I've probably had the virus and just haven't had symptoms. Do you know if a blood test can tell if I've had it in the past? I know there are different types of antibodies for some viruses that can show if an infection is recent or old.
Anyways - I'm not even sure though that it is a true cold sore... Looking at it again it seems like everything is more on the inside of my lips versus the outside and then I've got ALL kinds of soreness on the inside of my mouth. And now my throat seems to be hurting a bit and one gland on the side of my neck feels sore. I don't know what's going on. It really feels like I have some sort of virus/illness going on but I really have no idea. I guess it's good I'm seeing my doc tomorrow anyways - I'll just have my full blown freak out to him and see what he thinks! :)

Your dates are almost identical to mine (AF on May 1, ovulated May 14). Ugh... I wish this whole pregnancy thing wasn't so hard and confusing sometimes :( Praying it all turns out well, and that you have more clarity on Monday. It seems positive that there was a HB but the measurements being so far behind is still strange for sure. So many hugs to you right now! Hope you are at least able to get some good rest.

I don't think there is a nub in either pic :) Whatever that is in the lower pic sticking out (maybe what you are thinking is the nub?) could be the cord maybe? It doesn't seem very nub-ish to me though.
Sorry that they have you worried with the nasal bone thing - I'm sure it will be OK but I'm glad you're getting the NIPT to be certain!

Thanks girlsway. Weird pregnancy stuff sucks :(
I think it may actually be oral thrush. I did a good look today with a flashlight in my mouth and I have multiple raw spots and some white stuff in areas. I've been reading about the symptoms and it seems to fit pretty well with what's going on in my mouth (and apparently things like hormone changes/pregnancy can cause it). I never get vaginal yeast infections so seems kinda weird that I'd suddenly have it in my mouth but who knows. I've also been eating all the foods they say can contribute to it :( (stupid carbs!). Anyways hopefully doc can give me an answer tomorrow, and hopefully there will be two healthy babes again on ultrasound. I both look forward to and complete dread these ultrasounds now.

So, I'm only three weeks and already the exhaustion and nausea is a lot. I didn't have it this early with my son. Im also already breaking out [emoji26], which I didn't have with my son either. But, I am chasing a toddler around all day and that in it's self is tiring!
Has anyone's intuition about the gender of their babe been right? I wanted a daughter with my son but deep down I knew it was a boy before it was proven to me.

Both hubby and I though DS1 was a boy right from the beginning (I didn't really have a preference gender wise for first baby), with DS2 we both thought girl to start with (really swayed hard and hoped it had worked) but I found out after very clear boy nub he was all boy and he was not modest at our anatomy scan so I knew without asking, with this Bub I am not sure - I feel some days it's a girl but am convincing myself it's another boy so I am not so devastated when I do hear boy. So intuition only 50% correct with me but I think gender desire really messes with intuition. Was correct when gender desire didn't come into it.

Knew DS1 was a boy from the second I found out I was pregnant. Thought DS2 was gonna be a girl. Maybe hoped? We didn't find out but at about 30 weeks I got in a panic over choosing a boy name so maybe deep down I did know.
This time I'm convinced it's a boy. I don't really want to flirt with the idea that it may be a girl.
Part of wanting to find out is I don't want other people to tell me that they think it's a girl because of how I'm carrying or look or their instinct. Because I don't want to be convinced that I'm having a girl and it's not.

Heart rates are super fast - 176 and 185!! Unfortunately I don't really believe in the heartbeat thing though!

My DD always measured ahead. At her 40 week scan her legs measured at 43 weeks lol. And this was even with her being born actually relatively light (6lb, 10 oz)! And I was the smallest of my 3 sisters at 8 lb, 8 oz :P my middle sister was a full pound heavier.
That you have twins growing ahead AND with such strong HBs is amazing ABC. So promising! And I'm telling you -- I feel at least one of those is a girl and I'm leaning on both! :P

(A boy, but even their daughter was over 9 lbs I believe!). I think we may just be a "we make big babies" family too.

ABC I wouldn't worry about the measuring. Especially if your other babies were big. That's probably just the size of babies you grow. I don't even believe in the measurements my first was measuring on track and was born massive in the 90th percentile and has stayed there. My second was measuring over a week ahead from like 20 weeks and I thought I was having a huge baby. He was born in the 40th percentile and has caught up to the 70th. So that was wrong! Lol
As for the heart rate. Whether you believe it or not it's a nice sign! I'm hoping the HR thing is right cuz my boys were in the 140s. Second low 150s. And this one is 162 so I'm hoping there is something to it.... I'd feel more confident if it was as high as yours were though Haha.

Ah, that's like my DH's family -- and DD was and is super tsll for her age and at her gestation. But she was very light! So that's another thing to consider maybe -- there's "big" babies and "long" babies, haha. I also remember DD being estimated to be 7 lb 14 oz at that last ultrasound and she was more than a full pound lighter, so I still always maintain we take scans with a grain of salt!

If you always measured big with your boys I think it means you will probably always have big bubs- I think big babies are genetic not gender based. I have big babies too and the doctor said the only way to have smaller babies is to get a new husband lol!
ABC.2606
June 30th, 2018, 08:46 PM
Thanks ladies. Yea I'm not too worried now about the size thing. Like you all said, it's probably more genetics. And with my boys they seemed to always measure way ahead during most of the pregnancy (at one point with DS1 he was FOUR WEEKS ahead and DS2 I believe was at least a couple of weeks ahead at various points), but they seemed to slow down at the end. DS1 was 8 lbs 12 oz and DS2 was 7 lbs 10 - so not huge, but based on how they measured throughout the pregnancies we were pretty worried about 10+ lb babies! And I know I was 8 lbs 9 oz, so not too tiny myself (although I was late I believe!). But yea anyways - we'll see!!
If I try to Ramzi my photos from Thursday I'd say one is a boy and one is a girl - one baby and placenta looks to be on the left, the other baby and placenta on the right. But, I don't know if the theory "works" with twins or not... from what I can tell on Google, Ramzi didn't include twin pregnancies in the study.
Haven't been on here much as the past few days have been ROUGH... went to my primary doc for whatever is going on with my mouth. It doesn't appear to be cold sores or thrush but like the WORST case of canker sores I've ever had in my life! Seriously I've had them all over my mouth - with a massive one under my tongue that has made eating absolutely brutal. And yet when I don't eat I get nauseated, so it's been a constant struggle between do I want to throw up or do I want to be in massive pain trying to get something down. However they've been better today (LOTS of salt water rinses!) and so I had a pretty epic lunch (quantity-wise). Couple hours later and I'm starving again and trying to figure out what else I can devour!! My appetite is starting to get a bit out of control - I guess two babies will do that!
How is everyone else doing??

I'm feeling pretty sure this is boy number 3 for us- I just have some intuition going on at the moment... feeling sad but also trying to become excited for another son- my head is a mess and my guilt is off the planet! Bloody pregnancy hormones are ridiculous!
I had a girls night out last night and was sitting next to a mum with one boy my ds1s age and is now pregnant with her girl. All night I heard about how different her pregnancy is this time and because she had really bad morning sickness and vomitting her doctor just knew it was a girl.... I'm sitting there hiding my pregnancy and just knowing this is not my girl because all my symptoms are the same as my sons now and I just know I'm having another boy! Oh god this is so hard I just need to find some strength from somewhere at the moment.
I will know whether my dream is over by the end of this month- how can this be??? So not ready to accept the reality of no daughter for my entire life.

Sorry to pop in, but I had almost no nausea with all my 4 pregnancies, and one pregnancy was twin girls. The only difference I noticed with twin girls is that I was not gaining significant weight, but this may have been due to being too busy with 2DSs and breastfeeding one of them and then stress due to complicated pregnancy.
Oh, and I even didn't know I am carrying twins till 13.5 weeks ultrasound, I was so sure everything is fine and on track and not much out of ordinary, just a little bigger belly and more veins probably due to it being my 3rd pregnancy. So not only there was no difference in girl/boy pregnancy but also singleton/twin pregnancy!

Kitten and simkan I feel your pain coming to terms with this possibly being boy no.3. I have been trying to get my head around the fact that this is likely another boy and most definitely our last baby (DH still not happy that our surprise is one the way). For me the bad nausea is indicating a boy as my nausea was bad with DS1 and worse with DS2 and even worse this time so I am sure it's another boy. I am 12 1/2 weeks and definitely been showing since about 11 weeks but lucky to be able to hide it in winter clothes. Was hoping to hide it for another 6 weeks til DS2's birthday but doubt there is any chance of that!

Kitten - the thing with the "girls make you sicker" OWT though is that the only scientific theory they've come up with to possibly explain that is that HCG levels tend to be higher in girls - thus, higher HCG = more sickness. Well - I really don't feel any more sick this time around than I did with my boys and I KNOW my HCG levels are WAAAAY high this time given that it's twins. My HCG was almost 8,000 just shy of 5 weeks! Granted I could be having two boys anyways but the point is I think I probably debunk the whole more HCG = more sickness thing! Also - I've heard that a lot of women tend to experience less MS with each baby... being on baby #3 you may just not feel as sick (or more sick than you were with the boys) because your body is more used to the hormones.
AND... Some time back I found an article that talked about studies showing different "protective factors" against nausea/vomiting in pregnancy. A couple of notable ones were 1) lower saturated fat diet prior to pregnancy and 2.) maternal alcohol consumption prior to pregnancy. Being on LE (and I'm guessing you were drinking alcohol?) would have meant you had both those "factors".
And I've probably used all these examples before but my mom had a boy and a girl and no nausea/vomiting with either of us. Atomic has said she was less sick with her girl than a few of her boys. Like Kelbear said too sometimes worse nausea isn't a sign of a girl anyways!! My nausea/vomiting started off worse and earlier with DS2 than it did DS1! After awhile it was about the same but man I was so miserable so much earlier on with him that I was sure it had to be a girl!!
FX you all are growing little pink beans!!!
As far as showing - I just look super fat. My stomach seems huge but it's not a baby bump... Just a lot of bloat I guess. I've gained a few lbs... I feel like I've gained a lot more though because of the bloat in my stomach!! Pants are slightly tight but not terrible yet!

Ladies, I'm the same way. You just think, "maybe because I'm having this syptom and I didn't with my other, it might be a girl! Or "no syptoms, I'm having a boy!" I've gone back and forth between these two thoughts. I'm hoping for a girl and praying it is. I will come to terms with a boy. My family is nothing but boys! We have two girls and seven boys!
My nausea only comes AFTER eating which is increasingly frustrating because I'll eat and then feel weful. But prior, I feel great. It makes eating difficult and my appetite is way surpressed.
I'm also having heart palpitations, which I've never had before. Anyone else these?

Thanks girls for all your responses so good to have others feeling these feelings too.
I hope we all have our desired genders that would be amazing but if not it's nice to know we are here for eachother xx

Thank you so much for those responses. Especially all that info ABC.
It makes me feel more hopeful. Though still in my gut I feel it's a boy. I think the one thing that got me is one of my best friends had a son for her first and her pregnancy was exactly the same as mine and then her second she was telling me she had MS and was even vomiting and she gave birth to a girl. It's just stuck in my head.
Today I was looking through kids clothes online and I was so uninspired by all the boy clothes. And then looked through some girl stuff and wanted it all!
I think I'm gonna have to find out the sex. 7 more months of this will kill me haha

If you always measured big with your boys I think it means you will probably always have big bubs- I think big babies are genetic not gender based. I have big babies too and the doctor said the only way to have smaller babies is to get a new husband lol!
This made me chuckle! I also completely agree, DH and his brothers were 10lb, my son was 10lb (was tested for diabetes and was clear) it’s definitly genetic! I joke sometimes he’s lucky I love him because I’m getting some serious damage from these monster babies
