So I’ve been TTC for many months with no luck!! After I lost a baby girl at 19 weeks last year and another miscarriage at 10 weeks in October, I’ve been even more determined to add some pink to our family of 5 boys. I never had any trouble conceiving or with pregnancy in general, but it just isn’t happening now. I had my blood work done which doesn’t seem to show any apparent issues, but I am turning 38 in August so age is creeping up on me. My cycle is really regular and I get positive OPK so I am really not sure what to do? Is there any way to increase fertility without massively swaying boy??? Anyone with any experience or success stories? I’m considering acupuncture...
I’d love some opinions or advice?
Thanks!!

I am so, so sorry for your losses :( How devastating, especially after getting your dreamed of DD. <3

I know CoQ10 (ideally Ubiquinol, which is the more readily digestible form) helps egg quality and doesn't sway blue or pink! It's something to jump on sooner rather than later as it takes close to 3 months for eggs to benefit from supplement changes.

I agree with Panther about the coq10/ubiquinol. I would also switch over to folate instead of folic acid.

I would stop using alcohol and coffee if you were and cut back on caffeine overall (or totally if you can)

I suggest you follow this diet which will help by cutting carbs overall but doing it in a more pink-friendly way. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/1865-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-1-blood-sugar-issues.html?1865-Swaying-under-special-circumstances-Part-1-Blood-sugar-issues=

Also, can you give me a rundown of everything you're doing to sway, if anything? Douching, timing, etc?

Well I started off swaying with diet, douching and timing (bd once in fertile period)... but ove dropped it all over the many months of frustration that I wasn’t getting pregnant, and I’m still not. In the past I always conceived really quickly. I presume it is because of my age and I want to do something that will increase my chances without completely swaying boy!?! I have already taking ubiquinol and folate for the past 6 months. Do you think acupuncture will be a bad idea?

Douching cuts odds of conception by a lot, as does timing (although one attempt is not really timing, it's number of attempts) so I would try to frame it in your mind as "maybe I haven't really been trying that long after all". It may help to remove the panicky feeling to keep telling yourself you really weren 't giving it the best shot during some of those months.

The most important thing now is eating better. I really do suggest switching your diet up somewhat to reduce overall carb intake. I am not a fan of acupuncture, I just don't think it does anything https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/7405852/Acupuncture-does-not-aid-fertility-treatment.html https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/06/170627134310.htm and ~if~ it were to do anything, it would only sway blue anyway. It is up to you but I just wouldn't focus on that as the solution to anything.

What I want you to do is have sex every 4 days (in the Monday/Thursday pattern) and then do OPK and add in one more attempt at positive OPK. Start the e4d after AF ends and go through confirmed ovulation even if that means you go all the way to next AF beginning, if you're not sure if you've Oed or not. I would try that for a couple months, after which we can add in Preseed or guaifenesin (I would not add those yet, though) I would also consider adding in female O if that's something you've been avoiding as that may help up odds of conception.

ARe you doing shallow release or immediate J and D? If so, drop those. Go to 10 minute J and D or even longer if you have been doing that already.

Atomic Sagebrush.....just trying to follow along and understand.....why are you suggesting she drop carbs? Does that mean increasing the fat and protein to meet the required calories?

I am not suggesting she drop carbs, I want her to cut back on carbs. This can improve overall egg quality. Yes, you boost pro/fat intake slightly, keep calorie count the same, and eat healthier carbs to improve egg quality and you can read more about how to do that in this thread. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/1865-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-1-blood-sugar-issues.html?1865-Swaying-under-special-circumstances-Part-1-Blood-sugar-issues=
