I havent started working out, but in the one week I tried to do the LE diet while being a couch potato I felt I was gaining weight..ia this normal? I would have expected lower calories meant not gaining..?! Im sure this will change once I start my workout.
Could it be what Im eating? Im doing a lot of pasta, bread.

I’m not gaining weight but I’m not losing any weight. Was wondering if this had any negative impact.

Have you actually gained weight or just feel like you have (bloated)? It is possible you need to be on the PCOS version as some people don't do well on regular LE as it's carb heavy.

Ive always been the one that could easily put on the pounds really fast but then also lose fast too. How is the PCOS one any different? Is there a link.
I was thinking maybe I should start working out.
Thank you!

Yes I'd first start working out (that is if you like what you're eating now) and then switch over to one of the alternate forms of the PCOS Diet here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html

depends on how much you have to spare - what is your BMI

BMI 22
The cutoff I want you guys to stop losing at is BMI 21 anyway. I think you should keep doing what you are doing already and see what happens - it may be a temporary plateau and weight will come off, or you may want to cut back on cals a little and exercise a bit more and then it will come off.

Ok. Thank you!
This diet is a huge change for me. I am a typical boy diet eater without trying! Usually high protein, lower carb. Clean eating. And weight lifting. I’m not sure if my body is in shock with all the carbs and lack of physical activity (compared to what I am use to)? Anyway....will keep doing what I am doing for a few more weeks. Thank you!!

Hey, I have had a similar experience on the LE diet so far- like you I normally am a very clean eater with lots of protein and healthy fats and hardly
Ever eat stuff like bread or bagels or rice, pasta, anything carby. Now despite doing more cardio than I used to and eating the same or less calories, I've been at least maintaining the same weight or sometimes gaining! I've always noticed anytime I've cut my carb intake in the past I've dropped weight like instantly. There were a couple weeks on LE where I tried to limit breads and really make up the difference with regular and sweet potatoes and I think I actually lost some weight.

Kbird, you will likely do better on this style of diet instead of the super high carb version of LE Diet. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html (you do not need to have PCOS to do this diet, I just stuck it here for the sake of convenience) WE are actually getting better results with this style of diet and I'm having more and more people use it. I would honestly try having everyone use it but it's much harder to stick to, is much more expensive for those for whom that is an issue, and some people will find their weight flies off without the empty carbs.

Thanks Atomic, I've been reading through the alternate diet and trying to wrap my mind around it. I guess I feel like I'm just starting to get the hang of LE diet and making it fit into my lifestyle, so I might stick with it for now and see how it goes. For now I've been able to tweak my foods (staying in limits) so that it seems like I'm maintaining my weight. it's been about 5 weeks and I don't really need to lose any weight just hold steady. It's just been a learning process figuring out how my body handles certain foods. As others mentioned, lots of times i think I am bloated from eating so many veggies so that can be hard to figure out too, haha.
Do you think there's any value in focusing more on Whole grains and less on empty carbs while staying on the LE diet or does that just not work?

Yes that is fine and may help. The empty carb vs. whole grain idea was always a gray area and since we're seeing such good results with the alt. diet I have concluded that whole grains obviously can't be swaying blue so you can use them at yoru discretion, and very well may have better results with them (vs. tons of sugar)
Please understand that the alternate diet is STILL LE Diet. The calories, protein, and fat limits are really all very much in line with standard LE Diet. People think it's an entirely different thing but really it's the same, just with slightly more protein/fat (in some cases, since the fat level is the same as standard LE, just at the higher end) and without the empty carbs. So you aren't not doing LE Diet if you go on the alt. version of it.

Ah gotcha. Thanks so much for clarifying! That makes so much more sense to me now. I'll use more whole grains and see how that goes!
