Hello everyone, it's good to be here. I have to beautiful daughters that I love with all of me but I will like a son, this is my last attempt as DH and I only want 3 Children so I need help to make this work.
I have a few questions with regards to my boy sway, I just started with diet and supplements last week but I don't intend to start TTC till JULY.
I am currently eating potatoes, bananas, peanuts, red meat, white rice and potato chips, I am using B12 5MCG, Folic Acid 5mg, omega fish oil 1000mg(every other day). I can't seem to find any multivitamin amongst those recommended as I am in Africa and have limited access to supply, the only multivitamin I came across is the Centrum Adult (not gender specific), I will like to know if that's okay to use for Me and DH. Am I able to to have cereal with full cream milk even with the Calcium added to the multivitamin??

Hi and welcome! Yes those multivitamins are perfect for blue, and both you and your husband can take them!!
My only concern with what you are eating is that we believe eating more animal based fats and saturated fat may sway strongly blue. I want you to be very careful with the peanuts and potato chips, both of which have vegetable fats in them, that you are also eating things like coconut oil, butter, and animal fats like those in meats. You want to get more of your fat intake from animal fats and coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. you can still eat the peanuts and chips, just also be getting a lot of animal fat too (and coconut oil is good because it's saturated).
Yes please still do eat cereal with full fat milk!! When I got my 3rd and 4th boy I was taking a multivitamin very similar to what you are taking and then in addition to that I had cereal with full fat milk (or full fat yogurt and berries) every day!

Thank you so much for your reply. I think I am all set with regards to supplements just need to fine tune my diet.So just to make sure I completely understand your advice. Add butter, cheese, full cream milk, full cream yoghurt (does it matter if it is sweetened or not), coconut oil and all kinds of fruit.. Can I also add sausages? Wheat bread? Palm oil? Coffee or tea? Packed 100% juice? Is 8am fine for breakfast? Thank you so much

Yes - you don't need to eat all those things in one day, but it's just that they are good sources of animal/saturated fat and you want to be getting most of your fat intake from animal/saturated fat instead of things like vegetable oils.
Sausage is fine, it's not the healthiest option, though.
Wheat bread is fine, it does have a lot of calories in it if you find you are gaining weight rapidly.
Palm oil - if you can get the good unrefined palm oil that is great! Most people cannot get that so easily but you very well may have access to it in your area.
Coffee seems to sway pink but tea is allowed and may even help your sway.
100% juice is a great addition, it can make you gain weight very quickly though so if you are gaining weight you may need to drop it or cut back.
8 am is fine for breakfast unless you are a very early riser like 4 am or whatever. You want to eat fairly soon upon rising.

Thank you so much.
Can I add a probiotic to my sway? And extra iron as I sometimes get low on that or is the level in the multivitamin sufficient? What about aerosol?
I am about one week into my diet (sway) and have a yeast infection (I think), started treating but how do I avoid? Yoghurt? Is preseed of any good to my sway. Can I also take this juice as I don't have access to V8 where I am.Thank you so much

Yes to preseed! Full fat yoghurt is also good for a boy sway, I was doing both of those! GL!

Yes please add in probiotic - we get great results with that for blue.
Iron is fine if you need it, but people who are not deficient should not take extra since it can make you ill! It's fine to take more than prenatal if you're anemic but not if you are not anemic.
I'm not sure what you mean by aerosol.
Probiotics will help over time. Yogurt is less effective than probiotics are, but you can use plain, unsweetened yogurt as a cream for the area and it will help fight off the yeast. Garlic is another good way to avoid yeast - you can even put one clove of garlic inside your vagina for a few hours to get rid of it faster (which sounds terrible! but it really works) If you are really suffering, I would probably do an over the counter antifungal medicine to get rid of it, and then follow up with the unsweetened yogurt cream so the yeast can't just grow back again!
Yes those juices look wonderful! yum!

Hello, thanks for your help so far.
I am on CD 8 and scheduled to Ovulate on CD 17.
So far we have DTD on CD6, and intend to DTD again on CD10
and CD13(protected), then 3 time around positive opk, can I do 3 times on
O day? Or am and pm on O day, and am after O? Kindly advise.
I am currently eating:
Am- tapioca + full fat milk+ coconut milk
Snack- banana + nuts
Lunch-white bread + peanut butter/beans
Snack- pineapple
Dinner(shortly after snack)- white rice + beef + banana
Late night snack- weetabix + milk
Is there anything you would have me remove or add?
I am on multivitamin, omega 3, folic acid and probiotic, and I will start robitissun on CD12.
I intend for DH to drink Coffee/Red Bull before each attempt and I am thinking of taking pineapple/orange juice before each attempt.
I intend to use preseed but I don’t know what quantity to use?
It’s hard adding potatoes and lemon, I have this just once a week, does this really matter much?
I have gained about 6lbs
And of course I am praying a lot
Thanks a lot

I would advise having the attempts starting the night of positive OPK so there are some sperm there ready and waiting for the egg. I am not sure if you're wanting all your attempts on O Day because of Shettles, but late on O-1 is said to be ok for Shettles timing too. I really do think you're cutting your chances of success by focusing solely on O day. Your husband may not even be able to BD 3x in one day and by spreading it out even just a little it will really help boost your chances. Having attempt after ovulation is pointless. The egg is already dead by then and that would really only be 2 attempts.
I'd love to see more nutritious fruits than bananas. Despite their reputation as blue friendly, bananas are not that nutritious and there are many other fruits that have both potassium + a lot of other good things in them like peaches or blueberries and I would love to see you eating those instead of 2 bananas in one day.
Preseed - don't go overboard. If you have a lot of natural EWCM you may even want to skip it. The amount in the applicator may be too much, it's fine to use only 1/4-1/2 the applicator and only if you need it for lubrication. EWCM is best for boys.
I would be very careful giving DH that much Red Bull in one day or late at night. That has never been proven to help at all, and what has happened for people is that their husband gets so tired from being unable to sleep after having Red Bull at night, or by having so many RB in a row, that they can't perform and this has caused people to end up only having one attempt!!
Fine to drink orange and pineapple juice before attempt.
Personally I think potatoes are great...for GIRLS! There is nothing magically boy-friendly about potatoes and they are mostly just empty calories without that much other goodness in them. It is fine to stick with one time a week. Lemon water is great if you can manage it but if you can't, I certainly never had it when I got my boys!
Good luck and blue dust!

Thank you so much.
Yes it is because of Shettles, my very dear daughter 2 was a sway opposite because I had an attempt 0+24 so I guess I am just nervous about that.
I usually ovulate o+36, so with that in mind should I still have 3 attempts late O-1, O am and O pm?
I don’t have access to a lot of fruits where I am, what of watermelon or apple? Can that serve the purpose? Noted @ potatoes.
I can’t seem to be able to add vegetables, is that a problem?
DH’s diet is also not steady, he skips meals a lot but he takes his vitamins every now and then, added some full cream milk, eats same dinner with me with some red meat, he has stopped sugar as well. anything that he MUST add/do to help us.
I add sugar to my tapioca and milk is that a problem?
I am preparing with preseed because I am not sure if I would have EWCM as I usually don’t have a lot but if I do I will skip it.
Thank you so much for your help.

Yes I still think that you should have attempt O-1 and 2 on O Day. :agree: you can still have an attempt the day after O as well, that will help guard against delayed ovulation if it occurs. I just don't want you to count on that as being one of the three attempts because if you O on time, it will be too late.
Watermelon and apples are both fine too! Some people just think they need as many bananas as they can eat, but they really aren't very nutritious and are basically 100-150 cals of sugar for very little nutrient benefit.
Many people never eat many vegetables, if you can't add them, that is fine.
DH does not need to do the full diet, any changes he makes will only help. Most important thing is that he stops smoking or cuts back if he is a smoker.
No the sugar in the tapioca is fine as long as you're having protein with it (which you are, in the milk)
Good luck and blue dust!

Thanks a lot, I followed your advice and BD day of Pos Opk, next morning and night, however a day after (which is today), I’m now having O cramps(like I usually do), tested opk again and it came back positive. Don’t know what to do?! I have now gotten 3 unprotected attempts in, what do you advice please.

I would have another attempt or two to cover you and then start BD every other day after this in case of delayed O. Good luck and blue dust!!

Thank you Atomic for all your help and advice. I got pregnant this past cycle and I’m about 6weeks pregnant now hoping and praying my sway worked. I had some EWCM and used some preseed (about 1g each attempt) and had total of 4 attempts. I am probably going to be Team green but I can do with good wishes right now. How do I documents my sway?

Thanks a lot. I used preseed even though I had a little EWCM and I got pregnant first cycle trying. Now I am worried seeing so many DDs conceived while using preseed. Btw, I had 4 attempts from First Pos Opk.

Oh wow, congratulations on your pregnancy! Hoping you have a healthy boy in there :) And I understand your nervousness on preseed -- I used just a tiny amount with baking soda before one of these attempts this pregnancy and have deliberated alot on it haha.

Oh nice, big congrats.. The statistics of preseed results seem to be 50/50 but as Atomic said, depend on the couples fertility at that time. I am keeping my fingers crossed and right now praying for a healthy baby. Did you have any difference in symptoms?

Thank you! I agree, a lot of these things are 50/50 so it's great to focus on the sum of the whole attempt together rather than one thing. I know they say each pregnancy is different regardless, but I felt my symptoms were slightly different- I've felt less bouts of nausea (I've never had full blown morning sickness) and actually felt like I 'looked' better (I personally felt really dull with my girls). My skin has also been extremely dry which I've never experienced in previous pregnancies. I'd never had a 'gender dream' and had 2 about it being a boy, which I initially disregarded as high hopes lol. Fingers crossed for you!!

Remember, most of us with 2-3-4 of the same gender may not be coming into a sway with 50-50. So even if something gets 50-50, it may still be swaying. For example, if you start off with 70% chances of a girl, and get to 50% chances, that's a HUGE blue sway even though it may not be obvious just from looking at people who used any particular tactic.
After getting 4 boys over 21 years I figured my odds were NOT 50-50 LOL so I would tell myself "I'll sway to get to 50-50 and then I'll take the flip of the coin at that point!" Good luck and blue dust coming at ya!
