I started OPKs this month. Got a positive Friday mid morning and BDed that night. Normally I would not O until Wed and just thought I was early this month. Turns out I’m still getting positive OPKs. Someone mentioned that you don’t O until 24-48 after the surge stops.
Assuming we get a day or two more of positives, when should our next attempt be? We are going out of town Tuesday afternoon and won’t likely be able to do anything after that. Is Friday night too close close to Tuesday morning/afternoon?

Hiya from my understanding you should only focus on your first positive opk.. and ovulation will occurrr within the next 2 days or so. Some people get positive opks, some dont but dont think that makes a difference to actual ovulation. I personally stop opk testing after i recieve my first true positive opk. Hope someone else can advise too.
Are you going for one attempt in fertile period or multiple attempts? I opted for 1 attempt at positive opk, then dtd 7days later. Again i dont know if my opk was pos or neg at this stage as i stop testing. Good luck.

I was planning on just doing one attempt. But if I had not actually Oed yet and it was not going to for many days, I’d want another attempt. I’m not sure if e4d was possible, and if it needed to be exactly 4 days (evening to evening vs evening to morning) or if I’m just out for the month. I got another positive today.

Do u get any other signs, like cramps, pains, discharge? Some people can identify ovulation by tracking these things

You USUALLY ovulate 12-36 hours after your first positive. Most people stop testing after their first positive. I usually continued to test and got positives for 2 days but my temp pretty much always spiked the second day following my first positive (ex: First positive Monday, temp spike Wednesday). If you're not sure definitely stick to e4d (Monday, Thursday, Sunday, ect.) I don't believe morning/night matters as long as it's sometime that day.

I’m not sure how to attach the photo on my phone, but I am charting. I got insomnia and messed up the temp on the day I got positive (Friday). I’ve played with the numbers and it is showing I either Oed that day (lower temp) or on Sunday. (I did not know FF let us mess with adding info to a future date, or I might have solved my problem before posting!) I had mild cramps leading up to Friday and then major O pains on Sat. I’m guessing we are safe and don’t need to figure out another BD time.

whoever said you don't O until 24-48 after the surge stops, is incorrect. Most people will ovulate 24-36 hours average (altho sometimes 48 or even longer) from the FIRST positive, not the last, not the darkest.
What I like you guys to do in this scenario is have attempt at first pos, but then pick it up with e4d method after that. So you would then start having unprotected attempts every 4 days. If you are wanting better odds of conception do this every 72 hours (or Mon/Thurs pattern) or if better odds of pink do this every 96 hours (Mon/Fri pattern)
Tuesday after Friday is plenty of time to wait and I would have you BD before leaving and when you get back too.
