Hiya, on the first day or 2 of the diet my PH did read mid 4's, but now its back to high 5's or mid 6's ......... Im only drinking caffiene free diet coke, taking baby asprin, eating rice and parmasan, maybe low sodium bread and butter.
Although the lower readings I had was when I ate pasta, maybe I should try that for a day or 2 and Ive also not eaten much muller lights the last day or 2 so maybe should try that again.
Ideally I want mid 4's range especially if it will raise at ovulation!
What have you found best to lower your PH?
Anything that drastically raises it?
Thanks

good question, I look forwards to seeing the responses! My pH never seemed to change much despite diet... although I'm trusting that RepHresh did lower it.

I had a problem with my ph for the first 4mths.... in one day I had 4 packs of aspartame, 4cps of CL, 2 diet sodas, and rephresh every 3 days. Ph went from 7.5-7.8 down to about 6 on a good day.
When I finally found Cranberry that didn't contain anything else I added about 5,000mg to my supps daily and my ph lowered to about 5.2.
When I was finally TTC I used a vinager douche for 2-3 days as soon as AF ended, ph dropped to below 4. And then I used pea sized amounts of rephresh daily and my ph went up to about 4.5 and stayed like that for a few mths.
I do not know how food affected me but if it did it was over a long peirod of time, 6mths. Skipping meals, eating small meals, and spacing diet soda and CL evenly through the day.
I am currently using splenda which I started 2mths ago when my ph started to lower really well. Aspartame is in my yogurt and CL but the splenda is in my coffee and canned fruit... I wonder if a combo of the 2 fake sugars helps.
Because of issues with hormones and not getting prego I am going to take 25,000mg of cranberry, cal, mag, iron, FA, zyrtec, and b6. I will not be using rephresh or any herbs this time. I will douche for 2 days after AF. I hope the cranberry will lower my ph enough.

sounds like a great plan, how do you make the vinegar douche? Can I do this without a fridge as may be away the weekend of O. Will trial out replens first though

It should be mixed fresh daily but for 2-3oz of water you will only need a very small amount of vin... about .3-.6mls (infant motrin dropper) I don't put mine in the frig because then you have to warm it up before you put it in. Start with .3ml first to see if it works for you because if you go to high it can be very painful (why I don't use lime tampons they killed me)

Thanks, think Ill def try replens first just in case I do react lol, that would be awful! What type of vinegar would I use? And its just tap water?

I tried not to obsess about pH but I did test with strips occasionally around ovulation. My pH was always at around a 5 (which I was perfectly happy with). I then discovered that using Rephresh every 3 days and a touch of Aci-jel every couple of days lowered my pH to a 4/4.5 (ie the strip was orange and not green!). It was the Rephresh/Aci-jel combo I decided to use for my sway.
I would say though that I'm not sure that my cm in itself changed - just that the Rephresh/Aci-jel combo was hanging around and that I was getting a low pH reading from that!

Yeah Im beginning to think that diet or supps wont lower my PH that low, but will therefore def. give the replens a go leading up to ovulation and also take an antihistamine to dry up cm (especially as I may have to go on antibiotics for a skin infection!!)

My pH is always 4.5. It started to creep up a bit when I started the diet. I am wondering if is Vitex or the peppermint tea maybe? Anyway, for me, drinking a bottle of Klarbrunn really brings it down. (basically same as Perrier)

Vinegar douche instructions found here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?866-Guide-to-Douching-TTC-Pink
If you will be without refrigeration, I think it best for you to bring a prepurchased douche kit because it will be all sealed up and sanitary, and then you can just mix and use.

Sam's Club is just a store we have in the US. What you want is the 7% pickling vinegar if you can find it. But my personal opinion is that the regular old storebought vinegar douche works just as well and is safer because you don't have to do all the mixing and there is less opportunity for contaminants. Plus it doesn't raise your T levels!!!
BE aware, when using 7% vinegar everyone, that 10% vinegar is more effective at killing weeds than Roundup. Vinegar is an acid and the stronger it is, the more potential to do you harm.

I found that just losing weight and nothing more, dropped my pH from 6 to 4.5. However, I conceived a baby boy (prob. twin boys) with pH of 4.5 and it never went up at all. :/

I'm having some issues with lowering pH as well. I haven't even ovulated yet - but have done a couple of trial runs. My baseline pH is somewhere above 5.5. I mistakenly purchased pH strips that go from 3 - 5.5 thinking that would be enough range, and it's not, all I know is I'm above 5.5.
I've been on an altered diet for about a week, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep it up with breastfeeding my son. I eat more veggies than I probably should for low nutrients, but if I don't eat something I can't make it through the day. I've been eating moderate portions of noodles and rice, limiting my salt as much as possible, and avoiding the big "no-nos" like potatoes. I also have at least 3 beverages with splenda or aspartame daily. I can't cut my calories too much, because I'm still worried about my breast milk production. I have lost about several pounds since the weight I had when I conceived my son, but it has been pretty stable for the last month or so. For supplements I take a prenatal, extra folic acid, calcium, magnesium, saw palmetto and cranberry. I also started taking Fem-Dophilis - a supplement to replenish your natural vaginal bacteria.
These things didn't alter my pH at all, so I tried RepHresh and this brought my pH down to 5 but only for 24 hours. Then it's right back up to where it was before. I'm very concerned that once I get closer to ovulation my pH will be even higher.
So as another test, after BD, I tried the lime tampon (ph 3) just too see if that was something I could do and it was really uncomfortable. I could only wear it for about 30 mins before I gave up. The 30 mins didn't seem to do anything either.
Suggestions? Just cough up extra money and use the rephresh more frequently around O? Have people had good success with vinegar douches?

Well my range has been the lowest at 4.3 after using replens and up to about 5.5 this was since starting the supps of asprin, saw palmetto, zinc and b6 and folic acid. I have also been dieting so that may have helped. However I have my suspicions that eating pasta and yoghurt may be lowering it, will do that tomorrow and see what happens to PH. Maybe that is because it means I eat less bread or something. Drinking tons of diet coke caffiene free and will up that lots around O but the amount Im drinking you would think my PH would be the lower 4's all the time!

I have been on the diet for 10 months (ugh!) and 2 cycles ago i started acidphilus and this has made a huge difference to lowering my ph...really recommend it (though as stated on ig it does raise ph for some).

First of all hi and welcome if I haven't said so already.
1)Low nutrients doesn't mean NO nutrients - eating some vegetables is not only allowed but encouraged on the Low Everything Diet. You can also eat some veg on the French Gender Diet. If you're doing the IG Diet, one of those may be a better fit for you.
2)Some people find that their pH can go up with calcium supps.. You might want to try a different formulation of cal to see if it helps, so maybe try calcium citrate or a different brand.
3)There ARE no magic foods, so if potatoes help you to produce milk for your son, I hope you feel free to eat them now and then. you need 2500-3500 mg of potassium just for survival and this is the same on all three diets - dropping below that level is not only bad for you, it's dangerous and you can actually die from too little potassium.
4)You might want to try dropping the Femdophilus and seeing if it helps.
5)How much cran? I don't love people taking cran when BF, not convinced it's safe.
6)STOP TAKING SAW PALMETTO IMMEDIATELY. Not safe when BF.
7)I cannot stand lime tampon and I would love it if no one ever did it again. It can actually backfire with RepHresh because RepHresh is designed to keep everythign at pH of 4.5-5 so it will only raise the pH of the lime anyway.
8)Using the RepHresh more frequently around O is an option but I think it might reduce odds of pg. File that one away for a possibility.
9)Suggestions (aside from those above) are to be sure to use an antihistamine around ovulation to dry up your CM somewhat. Secondly, it's early yet and things can surprise you - you may not even go up much around O because whatever pH you're testing now, it's only what is happening in your VJ itself and has NOTHING to do with what is going on inside (I actually think you need to STOP testing and step away from the sticks until you O, because I can tell this is causing you some anxiety, and that is what you do NOT need because all the checking and experiments and thinking about it all the time is only going to raise your testosterone.) Finally, I do want you to know that several of us have had pH opposites and it may very well be the case that pH is not a make or break thing and that a lot of other things may be more important.

5 is as low as I really think is optimal for EWCM anyway.

Awesome! Thats what I plan to do. Wasn't sure if u can use refresh and aci jel together. Do u have to wait or can use one after the other? Rep lens can also be used right after refresh right?

I guess you could use Rephresh and Aci-jel/Replens right after the other but personally, as it keeps working for 3 days, I would use the Rephresh in advance of attempt and stick to the other (or Sylk) closer to DTD.
