Hi everyone!
I am new here. I have two amazing sons and am hoping to complete our family with a daughter.
I am from Canada and recently did IVF for family balancing in the US. Besides ending up with OHSS (which SUCKED), I am so grateful that we had a successful cycle - I had 51 eggs retrieved, 38 mature, 33 fertilized, and 21 made it to blast. We recently got our PGS results back and found out that we have 8 healthy males and 6 healthy females!
Our next step will be doing a FET with 1 of our female embroys. I am hopeful that with 6 chances, one of the embryos will stick.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you all :)

Congrats and good luck!
We had 7 PGS girls 1 boy.
Our 1st FET we transferred 2x graded AB girls. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with one.
Hoping and praying I make it to term and deliver a healthy baby girl.

Congrats, that's so exciting! I'm Canadian too, what province are you in? Did you have to pay for remote monitoring or did you find a clinic that offered the option locally? How many trips did you have to make to Washington? Also can I ask how old you are? Thanks!! :)

Congratulations ashley1992,
I am also in Canada and would love to hear more information about going to Washington for PGS. If we have two boys (currently have one) we are thinking about doing PGS for our 3rd.
Congrats again and good luck :)

I am in Canada. I did have to pay my local fertility clinic for apts. Ultrasounds and blood work was $300 each time. It is not covered my insurance or Ohip (I am in ontario)
Just to give you an idea... When your doing your FET you go in every other day roughly. From CD 3 to day before FET (CD 15 for me) So that added up quick!
I paid for my meds for my ivf at a compound pharmacy that was an hour away to save on cost. They were the cheapest in Ontario! I used my insurance coverage for most of that cost.
I used a clinic that was 4 hrs away from me in New York. I had to go in for egg retrieval and transfer only!. All other monitoring was done with my.local clinic via satellite patient.
It was a stressful time trying to coordinate all this... but I am so greatful we did This! I have 4 baby girls on ice and one growing in my belly. ☺

Hi there,
I'm also from Ontario, mama to three DS. We tried to sway with our last but failed miserably...I'm 35 and we are debating going for our fourth. My husband is not keen on the idea. I don't have the guts to tell him that the real reason I want a fourth is because I'm dying for a daughter. I know if I say that he'll immediately refuse to go for it. He's also said he's opposed to gender balancing. I am also too embarrassed to ask my doctor about it since this is illegal still in Canada (correct?)
Can you tell me how this worked? Are you willing to give the name of your clinic in NY? I would so appreciate it! Thanks very much.

I’m in BC. I did have to pay for sattelite monitoring through a clinic where I live, it was about $1000 altogether. We made two trips to Washington - one for pretesting and one for the egg retrieval. I just made a third trip for my trial transfer and will make my final trip for transfer in September. I’m 26!

I'm also in BC! Would you be willing to PM about what clinic you used etc? We are still 1-2 years away from looking into this but I feel so lost as to the IVF path lol :)

Hey I just wanted to mention to you ladies that there is also a clinic in Spokane that's had quite good results according to SART. May be an option for some. Welcome (http://www.fertilitydoctor.net)

Hello,
I am in Ontario and am desperately trying to find more information on PGD in the states. Obviously hoping to do as much as possible in Canada and then only travel to the states when necessary and hoping for a location in the states that is not too far from Ontario (Toronto area). I have no clue what to do/what clinics to look into/cost, etc. I see this process has been successful for you and am really hoping you can help send some detailed info my way?? Thank you so much for any info you can give me!!

Hello,
I am looking into CNY to try for family balancing. I was wondering what the total cost was for people in Ontario doing monitoring here and retrieval and PGS in the states?
Thank you :)

I’m interested in learning this too! Have you inquired about doing monitoring here and retrieval in the states? Do you have any fertility issues that would “allow you” or give you a reason to have monitoring here? My concern is that I don’t know how I would even ask to start the monitoring here because we (thankfully) dont have any fertility issues

I am looking at CNY and have seen quite a few Canadians cycle here. CNY will recommend a satellite monitoring office - I want to say there is one call Create in Toronto.
Not sure about total cost with monitoring in Canada - I am expecting my cycle all in US to be around 12k including meds.
