Ladies, do you only qualify for NIPT testing if you're high risk or have previously had issues with pregnancy. I don't go until the first but I definitely want to do testing due to family history. I did genetic test with my son, but it ass very basic and only checked for a few things. I just didn't know if there was a difference between basic testing and NIPT?

I go Monday for my first ultrasound, Ill be 12 weeks so a tad too early really for the nub theory. Im hoping to book a private one mid Aug for gender, if I dont get a blood test done. That all depends on insurance really.
Good luck on your ultrasound! Yeah, that will be a bit too early because they tend to all look girly then. They tried to book mine for around then but I called and rebooked saying I couldn’t make it to that appt, just so I can try to get a good nub shot lol!

I just tried to figure all this out before my NIPT last week and it's VERY confusing. If you're asking about insurance coverage, the most common reason that insurance companies will cover it is if you will be 35+ at the time of delivery. They may cover it as well if you have a family history or if there are "soft markers"/something abnormal on an ultrasound, but I'm not sure as I didn't look into that. Also I learned that usually the test cost is applied to the deductible first before it's covered at whatever your plan's cost share is (like 10%, 20%). So if the deductible hasn't been met it may cost more out of pocket. The basic NIPT tests for the 3 major trisomies - 13, 18, and 21 (Down Syndrome), as well as Turner's Syndrome. Some companies also offer a more expanded test that tests for more sex chromosome disorders, but be aware I've read online that those can be less accurate and possibly with more false positives. I also learned that if your insurance company will not pay, most of the companies that do the testing will offer you a cash price. Depends on the company but that seems to be between $150-$350. Panorama - the one I did - is $200. I had to call my doctor's office, two of the testing companies that my doc's office uses, and my insurance company to try to figure all this out. And I STILL don't know if my insurance will "cover" it (I'll still pay 20% if they do) because even though I'll be 35 at delivery, most insurance companies wont pay for the test if you're having twins! But if they don't at least I know what the cash price is for Panorama.
I don't know what basic testing you did (sounds like it could have been NIPT - was it just a blood test?), but the other options are the nuchal translucency ultrasound, the triple screen or quad screen - all which test for the same trisomies as the NIPT and are a bit less accurate.

It was such a pain for us to figure this out too! Even though we have unexplained RPL, and I stressed how we had uncovered some chromosomal issues, because I'm under 30 they were giving us a hard time about covering. Then at our nuchal, the nasal bone was seen but "not bright enough" so the tech said she'd say it wasn't visible because then the NIPT would have to be covered (Progenity). I haven't gotten any sort of bill yet or anything but my midwife said they have a deal where we'd never pay more than $99.

Sorry guys for being MIA. I will need to catch up with the posts. Have been busy planning and prepping for my friend's bridal shower and bachelorette party. I have to figure out how not to drink at the party without my friends knowing. Since it will just be the girls, I wont be able to change drinks with DH. It will be tough.
I have been trying to cope with the change. Most of my symptoms have gone away except for fatigue. I am so sleepy all the times. Besides working, all I want to do is sleep. I normally dont take naps, but I have been getting up later and nap at least once a day.

Also chromosome came back normal.
I'm actually shaking. I can't believe it. Now I feel like I need a scan every day to make sure it's fine.

Congrats! I'm late to the party, what was your sway like? :DThank you!
So I was quite worried about my sway because I was reading a lot of other forums before I joined here and thought it would take ages to fall pregnant because everything we did made falling pregnant harder.
Did le diet. With skippung breakfast. But probably only like 8/9 weeks before falling pregnant.
Cut out caffeine because I drank it when getting pregnant with my boys
Cut out red meat and anything with potassium.
Both DH and I drank lots of peppermint tea.
I took folic acid, cranberry, calcium and vitamin b.
I also drank alot of cranberry juice, ate dairy and made a shake every night of Spinage and frozen berries.
Here is where I was worried. We BD every day, with a 3 day cut off.
Made him sit with a warm wheatbag on his lap for a while before.
And unintentionally jump and dumped the last two nights cuz kids woke up right at the end lol

I'm usually not a big drinker so people don't get suspicious when I don't. They'd be much more suspicious if there were a cheese platter and I didn't have soft cheeses.

Simkan: congrats on getting your girl! Woohoo [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]We have had many good news in DDG lately and I hope that it is a good sign we all will get our DG. I am sorry but how many weeks are you? Will you be telling family soon? I know everyone will be so thrilled with the news [emoji4] As for me, the surprised bridal shower will be at my house so I wont need to drive. I am not big drinker myself, but they will still at least expect me to have at least a few drinks hahaha. And lol about the cheese. I have been wanting some soft cheese, and I read that it is okay as long as it is pasteurized, is it true? I havent had any, but will be hard to stay away from it for 9 months [emoji33]
Pbn: good suggestion. If she asks, i might just tell her that. Maybe she will be so happy with all the guests and surprises that she wont notice a thing.

You can have any soft cheese as long as it's pasteurized, and it's pretty hard to find raw soft cheese outside of specialty shops! I eat feta all the time and did all through pregnancy with DD!

What kind of drinks? I'm an expert at this point on hiding it since I'm a well known drinker amongst friends and family and have been perpetually pregnant the last 3 years! Especially since the antibiotics/not feeling well isn't something that works imo lol. Or at least no amongst my alcoholic friends and family ;)
Beer: bring an empty bottle or can! Fill it with water when no one is looking!! This is the best one. There's still photos of me circling around friends holding up a can with no one the wiser!
Wine: Bring juice or sparkling grape juices to fill your glass when no one is watching (I've done a lot of bathroom glass fills!). White grape passes well or white wine, pomegranate is a great sub for red. If you offer to pour wine, you can get everyone distracted then go into the kitchen or wherever to put the bottle away/cork it then do your sneaky "wine." Or open it in the kitchen and pour your "wine" first then come out to pour everyone else's.
Liquor/cocktails: Red solo cups?! Easy! Put whatever in yours, EVERYONE assumes it's alcohol. I just did this last weekend at almost 16 weeks and still no one suspected until I told them this week! Nice cocktails in glassware? If premixed, make a "base" cocktail that people can add liquor too. So like a alcohol-free margarita mix or some sort of mocktail, say, "It goes well with vodka or rum," then just don't choose either. Alternatively, having just soda pop or something sparkling in your glass (especially with garnishes like olives, mint, lime, etc.) is usually enough to make it seem like you're drinking.
Shots: This is still my challenge round! People usually do these together so it's hard to hide and I usually would just say I'm driving or I'm already too tipsy from earlier drinks. I'd plan bathroom trips during shots and also have done, "I'll do the next round!" and gesture to my drink or convo I was having with someone and usually people would forget/be too drunk by next round lol

Yes I've also heard pasteurized is fine. During my last pregnancy I went to a cheese factory for a friend's birthday and it was all pasteurized and I figured.... hey they're making it here. It couldn't be more fresh so I had some. I did panic after

TP: you really do get this thing down. Thank you for all the details. This is amazing and super useful. We will most likely do cocktails, beer since it is too hot outside and maybe some wine. The beer bottle with water is great idea. No one would be able to tell. Anyway, how have you been doing lately? Did you mention before you did the NIPT test? I forgot if you decide to find out gender with NIPT?

It will just be a little more than a week now. How exciting! Cant wait to see more scans. I have a hard time keeping secret here. I just want to tell our whole family already, and get some advices from my mom but I am afraid my mom and MIL wont be able to keep the news to themselves and tell EVERYONE. It will be their first grandchild after all. But you see, it makes me stressed out more thinking how I will have to tell everyone if sth goes wrong (knock on wood). How do you guys tell family and make sure they dont tell a bunch of people?
Btw just got myself "What to expect when you are expecting." Cant wait to start reading when I get home. Heard lots of good things about the book, so I hope it will be a good guide for me through this 9 months journey.

Haha, I am so glad the advice is helpful everyone! For both (hopefully) successful pregnancies, I've been met with, "But I just saw you drinking" by a few people each time we revealed! That's when we give our winks and say, "DID YOU?" Haha -- people are persistently surprised because I throw them off like this.
Shinay -- we did NIPT and thankfully at least whatever was tested in that was normal. Still nervous since our chromosomal abnormalities were rarer ones (like Trisomy 8), but so far so good I hope. And no, we didn't find out gender -- didn't even check to get it tested and put in an envelope since I didn't trust the place where we get scans done for the midwives haha
Now in continuing, "TP is never happy," a sort of surprise occurrence happened and we did end up telling my in-laws. My FIL was predictably an asshole and literally didn't even look at me. My MIL was ecstatic though since she was familiar with some of the losses (and hadn't been the one to be super insensitive before -- she had defended FIL when he had said horrible things). My SIL who I love was so happy since she knew about almost all of the losses and had experienced many herself (I swear, it's the men in my husband's family, since she's married to my husband's brother).
Now, both my MIL and SIL admitted they thought it was a boy. But then my SIL said, "But I'm always wrong about other people's kids." So that sort of bummed me out? Then when I gave my MIL hand me down clothes from DD for my other SIL (who had a girl a few months ago), my FIL sort of yelled, "But what if you have another girl?" I pointed out that even if we did, we wouldn't be needing these clothes for a good year anyway, so at least she could use them, which MIL was very gracious about.
Lol, but now I've gone from, "No one is guessing because they think it's a girl!" to "Well people are guessing boy and still putting caveats making me feel bad!" I am never happy! (Though admittedly -- SIL was right about DD, and she was the ONLY person who thought DD was a girl!! Everyone else thought she was a boy haha).

TP I totally understand why you feel there is no right way for people to guess the gender. That's part of why I had to find out.
If people said they thought it was a girl I was upset that they were getting my hopes up when I didn't want to flirt with the idea that it could be a girl. And if people had said they thought another boy I would have thought- You B**** lol
Maybe just make it clear that you don't want to speculate and that they'll find out the gender when you do after the birth!

Anyway TP, I know people's comments can easily get to us especially with all the pregnancy hormones. But i agree with simkan, maybe let people know that you just want to enjoy this pregnancy without talking about gender. And I am sorry about the insensitive comments your FIL made. That is how men are. You should just ignore him.
And just a comment about your posted sway, I want to go team green as well, but DH really wants to find out. He said we can go team green with our last baby (we want to have 3), not this one lol.

We didn't exactly sway but hoping for a girl. We will be team green for as long as we can (I'm just TOO good at spotting a penis on an ultrasound lol!)
I've tested this AM at 4+1 to double check that line is getting stronger and it sure is [emoji173] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180723/91db14f2824c4b4cba4828d739f946a3.jpg

I go Monday for my first ultrasound, Ill be 12 weeks so a tad too early really for the nub theory. Im hoping to book a private one mid Aug for gender, if I dont get a blood test done. That all depends on insurance really.
How was your ultrasound today? I hope everything went well!

Thanks shinay [emoji173] I have my first doctors appointment next Monday but that will just be to confirm everything. She'll sign me up for maternity care from there but it will be around 12-14 weeks before I get a scan unless she refers me for an early one!! Starting to get excited now :)
This is me too, Noemi! I'm 7 weeks but my nausea really limits what I can eat. Literally nothing sounds good anymore. It's been a struggle to eat lately!

Oh girls I am so hoping I avoid any severe sickness this time around. I had HG on my first two babies, I avoided HG on my third however the nausea and sickness were still fairly bad and still resulted in a few nights in hospital on an IV (not as bad as DS2 when I was admitted 3x every week for SEVEN weeks!)
I'm already staring down the barrel of food versions tho. Anyone else suffer this? It is the absolute pits. I'm hungry but NOTHING appeals!!

Hi! It was a bit of a late ultrasound so I just got home a little bit ago after grabbing some dinner. My stomach was singing during the ultrasound and genetic counsel haha Just one healthy looking so far little bundle! I have NEVER had a baby so active. I thought my last was, this one was a gymnast. Not stop moving, arms legs, bouncing up, flipping a bit. The tech put the 3d on and it flipped and showed its little rump, Im sharing that picture here haha She had heard of the nub theory, as I mentioned it being too soon, and was bummed about that. She got me a shot anyway. :)

Sent from my EVA-L09 using TapatalkSame, Hopper! My husband and I have to eat separate meals right now because, literally, nothing sounds good! It's frustrating because I'm SO hungry and then I eat and I'm automatically nauseous. My doctor gave me some samples of Bonjesta (never heard of it) for my nausea, but I read some reviews and a lot of people say it just makes them seriously drowsy. I can't be drowsy since I am home with a toddler all day! So I've been too worried to even try it.
Crossing my fingers you don't get HG with this little one! I can't imagine how miserable that much have been!

Raining I had so little nausea and symptoms that I kept thinking I was going to lose the pregnancy but 'she' is here alive and well. I actually had way more and all day nausea with my boys.... I really don't believe nausea is a valid gender symptom at all. I've seen it present pretty much 50/50 and 50/50 those that did or didn't have it one pregnancy but did or didn't the next.

Maybe some food aversion... in terms of aversion to food because I wasn't hungry. But I was convinced it was a boy because I had no Nausea with both my boys. But NIPT says girl so now I'm a believer that some people really are lucky and don't get sick. :)

Yeah, echoing PBN for you raining, while I had nausea for a good 4 months with DD, I never puked with her -- my mom ONLY had girls (3!) and had "unicorn" pregnancies of literally no symptoms except heartburn until the end!
I haven't had any nausea or aversions with this pregnancy, and while I hope that would mean boy, I also have had 10 pregnancies under my belt and had symptoms -- even if slight or passing -- with all of them, including my very brief confirmed boy pregnancy from our IVF FET.

Is anyone NOT having symptoms? I’m kind of worried I’m not nauseous since they say nausea = girl. I’m 4 weeks 5 days tomorrow
Well I, for one, can firmly attest to the whole "nausea=girl" to be a big rotten lie. I remember being pregnant with DS1 and everyone - and I meant every one - making me believe he was a she as I had HG from week 5 to week 20 nd lost 2 stone from all the vomiting! We were team green and I just about keeled over with shock when they announced he was indeed a he in the delivery room. I think my GD started there and then actually.
I was worse on DS2. The sickness was awful. I knew straight away he was another boy and I was fine with that.
DS3 had us all fooled. Only nausea and a little vomiting for 2 weeks from week 8-10.
You just can't ever tell from symptoms xx
Hope everyone is doing well! I can't keep up with posts right now... My nausea returned again and the fatigue the last week has been terrible! I'm sooooo tired. 12 weeks tomorrow so I'm really hoping I start feeling better soon :(

Hi shinay!
I had almost no symptoms with DS. I think I threw up one time and I did have nausea but it was mostly just a yucky feeling, not severe at all. I don't think it hit until I was like 6-7 weeks along. I got SUPER hungry in my 4th month and gained 12 pounds (the rest of the pregnancy I gained 1-2 lbs a month). I also craved fatty/protein foods but didn't have any of the weird cravings. I would say my biggest symptom with my son was that I was EXHAUSTED pretty much from conception to 20 weeks.
This time around (I'm 6w3d), I barely have any morning sickness but when I do get it I feel awful and I definitely haven't been as exhausted as I was with DS, which is weird because I'm chasing around an almost 11 month old! Honestly, if I hadn't seen the two lines on the test and missed a period I wouldn't know I was pregnant.

I am so sorry kittendreams - that must have been a very difficult call to receive. I read an article awhile ago about a mum who found out she was having her third boy. Her DH suggested they sell/give away all the boy stuff they already had and started from scratch with all new baby stuff (like shopping for your first baby). I'm not sure if that's an option that would appeal to you but I filed it away in my memory in case we are in that scenario one day. I think it might be a nice way to bond with the pregnancy and get excited about the arrival of a new baby. At any rate, we are all here for you if you need to let it all out.

They DO know the gender of both babies but I told them we don't want to know yet. But now of course I'm going crazy knowing that the doctor knows! All of the sudden I have a very strong feeling it's two boys - and I'm not sure I'm ready to know that yet!

Hi ladies!! Super excited so wanted to share... I’ve been suffering from terrible congestion/drainage with rubber cement like snot/phlem. I’m convinced it’s making my nausea worse however I have found that gargling strong mouthwash (green scope) throughout the day has helped immensely! Just in case anyone out there is having the same problem!

Happy to help! The brand is Scope (I’m in the US), I happen to use the green colored one (fresh mint I believe) but I may switch to the blue one since I use it so much during the day and I worry my teeth look slightly green LOL it’s like 15% alcohol by volume so I have to make sure I don’t swallow any, but it definitely breaks up the mucus

Ladies, I know you're all further along that I but just wondering how did people take it when you told them you were pregnant? This is #4 for us. The reaction to #3 was less than stellar on all fronts. I know this news will be received similarly.
My mom called over yesterday and noticed that my anti anxiety meds were missing from the bathroom (she has eyes like a hawk) and she asked if I had weaned off them. I said I had over the last while. To which she replies " and there better be no more babies on the horizon. I know how your mind works!" (Ie, wean off meds and get pregnant straight away) I got really annoyed and refused to say anything about babies. Instead just saying that I've been trying to super slowly wean off them since Christmas and that I'm not my sister (who is taking a shed load of meds for anxiety, depression and everything in between and she will be for possibly her whole life) and that I don't want to be on meds long term.
We spent the remainder of the afternoon together. She made several negative pregnancy comments and then proceeded to tell my sister, who called with her partner of 5 months, that she wouldn't mind seeing another grandchild come from her. My sister has no kids, is in a very new relationship with a guy 7 years her junior and has said he's not at the point in his life of settling down and as I said above has obvious mental health issues (her meds would be potentially harmful to a pregnancy whereas the ones I was taking are the most "fetus friendly" you can get) It just hurt my feelings so much. I'm dreading telling her. My dad will laugh and say congrats. My sister will fake smile and then I'll hear all about how she went home and cried after hearing. My in laws - don't get me started. One SIL out of 5 said congrats on DS3.
I'm not doing any kind of social media announcement. I have a group of college friends who have a private FB group and I posted on it and was told point blank I must be crazy. All this negativity :(
Trying to tell myself all that matters is our family and how happy the kids will be when we tell them. I was shocked when I saw the BFP this cycle. We didn't think the timing had worked out at all. I don't think it's fully sunk in yet even and all this going on is making it harder to get my head around :(
Sorry for the essay and I'm sure most of it doesn't even make sense. I just don't know who else to talk to who might "get it". I'm such a positive person. I prefer to build people up even people I don't particularly have much time for. A firm believer of what goes around comes around but finding it all a bit blah at the minute.

While I'm not a believer in what goes around/comes around , BUT I think it's great you're still staying so positive with such downers around you!
Is it possible to just NOT tell them?! I think when we put expectations on the announcements, we get disappointed -- versus just taking joy within our immediate family can keep us feeling good? My FIL was a shithead when we shared and it's part of why I didn't want to tell our in laws at all, so I definitely understand the hurt from people who are supposed to care not caring. Your moms comments are particularly hurtful!! I never understand when parents say that! My MIL and FIL kept saying that for one of my SILs, but only because they are fully supporting her as she keeps having more kids and we all see how it's exhausting them. But even then -- they should just stop overextending themselves instead of trying to influence others' family planning!
I'm so sorry you're going through this :( Know WE are so excited for your baby here ♡♡♡

Ooooh boy... Im not sure what page its on but there are a LOT of us in here who can commiserate with you. Personally, this baby is an oops for us. Its a BC baby, and will be nearly 7 years apart from my youngest. Both my boys are on the autism spectrum, one severe so we had decided to stop there. The universe had different plans. My friends- my 2 best, we've been friends around 28 years now- are happy and supportive. My mother.... ehhhh not really. Shes upset and worked up because she thinks I wont have time for Logan, my severe little man who is improving in leaps and bounds since I work with him daily. I def plan to still have time for him, but my mother is a bit of a drama queen so Im sure you can imagine.I havent told anybody else.
My inlaws... Im dreading. My MIL in particular. When we had expressed more babies in the future before we knew Logan was also autistic, she went nuts. "Why would you do that?" "I only had two" "Dont you have enough on your plate? With kids and animals?" "Ridiculous, why would you even consider more?" and so forth. Needless to say I didnt rush off to tell her. Picture the stereotypical jewish MIL from Brooklyn. x10. That is her. Shes even from close to that area (Im originally from Long Island, Im in NC now) They are coming down for a visit around the 6th, and Ive devised a plan to tell them. It will be their wedding anniversary so a card from the kids saying 'Love Jacob, Logan, and Oops'. Maybe if its cute it wont be so bad?

Thanks ladies you all are the best!!! Hopper - it is weird seeing "female" on the report! I have felt this whole time that there was at least one girl in there (until yesterday when I really freaked out that it would be two boys), but it's strange knowing now that there really is! TP I feel good about it! I was *hoping* for 2 girls - I'll admit it - but I'm excited now about 1 of each. I think it'll be fun for my DS2 to experience having a younger brother. And like Verena said it will be very interesting to see what he's like because my current two boys are very different from each other (both in looks & personality!). So as long as I'm getting my girl, another boy will be a happy and welcome bonus :)
Hopper - I am SO sorry for all that negativity!!! What the heck?!! You're definitely in the right place here to vent as most of us have experienced some degree of awful reactions/comments from relatives! It honestly makes no sense to me! What happened to the "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" rule?! Like you said though I'm sure your boys will love the news that they're getting another sibling. My oldest is SO excited about our pregnancy and talks about it all the time. And that's what matters most - it will be such a happy joyous thing for you and your immediate family!!

I am starting to have a lot of anxiety about the gender the closer I get to finding out :/ I know I need to find out so I can work through my feelings during my pregnancy. My doctor knowing this has upped my anxiety/depression med and I’m feeling sick again while it regulates.
Next Monday I have my 12 week ultrasound and I hope to get a good nub shot and I’ve booked an early gender scan for 16 weeks. We haven’t told family yet and I just know what all the comments will be if it’s another boy. At least if it’s a girl I will be so happy that I won’t care about anyone’s opinions. I’ve been thinking if it’s a boy to just tell everyone we are waiting until birth to find out since it’s our last baby. Has anyone found out and then kept it a secret from everyone? Was it hard or did you ever accidentally let it slip?
I’ve felt so resentful lately about having all these boys around me and I can’t imagine adding another one. Then I feel so guilty and depressed about seeming so ungrateful. I want to enjoy my last pregnancy but it’s so hard, and I feel like it’s starting to put a wedge in my relationship too :(

I’m so sorry for you gals struggling, our news was mostly well received with the exception of my mother. Which is pretty shocking considering we only have one but people always have an opinion and for some reason think it’s ok to share, even to a hormonal pregnant woman! Honestly, I believe my mom is jealous I am living a life she wish she could have lived, and is just generally resentful. I couldn’t hide my pregnancy if I tried, aside from being sick I am HUGE! Like, honestly very large. Gained over 20 pounds and a good portion in my belly (although my thighs and hips are definitely wide). I didn’t tell people until I knew the gender, which I’m happy about because everyone guessed boy and that would have bummed me out. Just goes to show that symptoms/OWT and guesses are so unreliable! I hope everyone finds happiness and peace in their newest adventures!

I'm 100% with you. I had my scan at 12 weeks this past Monday, and the nub shots can go either way. Its not as reliable at 12, as it is at 13 or after so I am also booking an early scan. I did see what I think is stacking on a few pictures, so I keep trying to brace myself to hear boy #3, when my heart is screaming for a DD. I also feel guilty, but this is the place to let it all out with less fear of being judged. There are so many of us who struggle with GD.
My husband wanted me to have an abortion, and I couldnt even think about going through with it. He had said no matter what I decided, we were in it together but when fights happened it was always "Youll be lucky I stay with you after its born." It was terrible. But, honestly if thats how it was going to be (It wont come down to that, he just has a really nasty temper. After 14 years I tell him to get over himself.) Id rather have my 3rd and raise it alone. Now that hes actually seen the pictures, hes softened and even started calling it Oops and making plans. It was a bumpy few months though.
I havent told many people, and dont plan to until I know the gender. 3 people know and my inlaws will when they come to visit in a couple weeks.

I want to enjoy my last pregnancy but it’s so hard, and I feel like it’s starting to put a wedge in my relationship too :(
Yes, we didn't share the gender with DD because I had so many issues with it. I never had any issues and secretly told only my best friends. DH occasionally slipped up in front of strangers!

Girl....we could sit and talk for hours. We are pregnant with #5 and we’re given LoTS or push-back with #3. So we knew we were in for a sh%# show with family. We took our time and didn’t tell people until after 10 weeks. Then waited even longer to tell family. We basically said, “oh btw, we are 14 weeks pregnant!” That seemed to work. Our other kids helped share the news too. Because they were so excited, it made family hold their tongues. I know it’s hard. But be happy and stand your ground!! If you are excited, let that carry into your conversations. Yeah, big families seem crazy but we are SO incredibly blessed! I couldn’t imagine my life without my big family!

Hopper I'm sorry you don't think you'll get the reaction that a new baby deserves. I know it's easier said than done to say it doesn't matter what other people think, it's your family and you are excited.
My parents knew I was trying to get pregnant, I think their issue was financial, prices here for everything are huge, and yeah probably will be a stretch to pay for 3 of everything but I'm a believer that things happen as you need them. I'm not worried about that and I always wanted at least 3 so don't think it makes a massive difference if they are born closish together in age or further apart it will cost the same in the end. But I'm also very straight forward with my family. They know better than to throw negative comments my way.
The most I got was- what if it's another boy. My response was usually a sarcastic - well then we will end up with 4 or 5 boys.
I'm actually looking forward to the comments of a third boy when we announce the pregnancy now that I know it's a girl. I'm not going to announce its a girl on social media, but people in our lives that we see often can know.

My scan will be between 12/3 and 12/6 based off my dates and dating ultrasound. I hope it’s a good enough shot! I keep telling myself it’s a boy to not get excited, but it’s getting harder the more time that goes on. I honestly have no feeling one way or the other which makes it easier to daydream the what if’s it’s a girl!
My SO knows I’m unhappy with being pregnant (we were gearing up to start diet and everything to sway for a girl). He was happy though. He kept saying in the beginning that it’s my choice and I could abort if I wanted to, but he knows I could never do that. I’ve been isolating myself and he’s feeling unloved and I’m hoping he’s understanding that it’s just me and what’s going on in my head and has nothing to do with him.
We’ve told friends and that’s it until I know the gender. SOs family will be happy no matter what, it’s my family that will have all the opinions lol. I never look forward to telling them.

Hi ladies! I’m hoping to join you all on here. I’ve been quietly watching since the group was made. I had a MC at the end of last year and have been very hesitant in telling anyone about this new pregnancy. I’m currently 7wk6d and had my first scan on Monday. So far all is going well, Bub is measuring perfectly. I have a EDD of 8th March 2019. I have 2 beautiful boys at home and am hoping this is my DD. But overall I would just love to have a healthy baby.

Can I ask you ladies a TMI question?
Is anyone having loose stool issues?? I was constipated at the beginning of pregnancy and it's been weeks now of "sudden rush to the bathroom." I started realizing I might be lactose intolerant again after noticing what triggers it. Either that or maybe the heat?
With DD I lost my lactose intolerance during pregnancy and thankfully didn't get it back after (for that dairy while swaying!). Now I'm losing my tolerance?! Any experiences with this? Or even just loose bowels from pregnancy? I'm also nervous because I only had that in the week or two before labor with DD and worried it means something's wong...

I am sorry lots of you are having negative reactions from family to your pregnancies. It should be a time of joy and celebration but I know how it feels when you don't get that response. This baby is a birth control oops for us and not only are family not really supportive of number 3 but my DH also isn't happy. I hope he will come around eventually (hasn't even come to either scan so far and keeps calling this my baby not ours). I am very worried about all the gender questions we will face with 2 boys so far. Everyone will be asking if this is a girl and I don't want to face telling anyone if it's boy no.3. We have only told my parents and sisters and DH's sister (who will no doubt have told MIL) and a few very close friends. We have the anatomy scan the day before DS2's birthday and will likely tell everyone at his party (will be too hard to hide any longer as already tricky to hide at 16 w). I am either not going to find out at scan (unless Bub isn't modest like DS2 who put everything on show within first minute of scan) and maybe ask them to write it down for later as I don't want it to ruin DS2's birthday and want to honestly say we don't know gender when asked. I am still contemplating team geeen as I don't want it to ruin the second half of my pregnancy. We are not going to tell people outright but put up photos of DS2 for his birthday and have one I have taken with ds1 and ds2 at their whiteboard drawing with the words "how to be a big brother - lesson #1" on it and see how many people guess from that.

I also have been having constipation issues. I was staying away from caffeine, because I was quite bad with it before I got pregnant. I decided to have some coffee the other morning and Im pretty sure I made up for all the weeks things werent moving along. :omg: I do not typically have that response to coffee/caffeine but it makes me leary of trying it again.
Loose stool can be a normal sign though. DS 2 the prenatal vitamin I chose rubbed my stomach the wrong way and every day for hours after I took it Id be miserable. Then it would taper off at night and then start all over again until I switched. Just make sure you stay hydrated! You dont have any other symptoms of anything right? I do not have experience with lactose intolerance so I cant help in that subject.

Yea I’ve got constipation :( But I have IBS and so that’s normal for me when not pregnant!! Sorry you’re dealing with that. Since you’ve had lactose intolerance in the past maybe it’s just flaring up again? Pregnancy makes all kinds of weird things happen!

I have a question. How much vomitting is too much? I am 5w2d but man MS (all day for me so far) has hit me hard. I was wishing for mild symptoms, not full blown like this [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] i cant really keep food down for the past 2 days. It gets much worse today, i threw up maybe 10 times today. Even water made me feel sick. I tried my best to keep the food down as long as possible, but it usually cant last for long. I also tried ginger candies, but doesnt seem to help much. Also, what do you eat or drink to help with ms? I did some research online and some people recommend bland porridge so I will try that tomorrow.

Thanks ladies, it helps to know others have had it. I thought it might have been a stomach bug ages ago, then figured out it's my new normal! I just feel like people always talk about constipation in pregnancy, and the only stuff you find on frequent/looser stools is before labor -- so I freaked out!
Now I'm on to stressing because I had some tea with ginseng in it, and read that's terrible for pregnancy D:

I'm so sorry you're going through this :( Know WE are so excited for your baby here ♡♡♡
Thanks TP! I think what I meant to write was - you get back what you send out. Like positive versus negative vibes. I think I just wrote whatever came into my head with my rant lol.
It's entirely possible to get away with not telling them unless I get super sick like on my first two sons. I had HG so we didn't even get to tell anyone, as such, it was mostly "oh I'm in the hospital...etc" With DS3 we didn't do an announcement but we told them one on one and it wasn't received wonderfully. Ugh, stressing about stuff that I shouldn't be - yup, must be preggo!!!
Oh I hate that you got that reaction! Of course you'll still have time for your older two, mom guilt takes care of that let me tell ya lol!
So cute referring to baby as Oops [emoji173][emoji173][emoji173]
What I've learned ( and I only have my son, this is my second pregnancy) is that after two people start questioning you. They look at you like you're insane but will be like, HOPE THIS IS THE (WHATEVER GENDER YOU DONT HAVE) SO YOULL STOP TRYING. I have friend who has four kids and the remarks she received are astoundingly dumb.
You just need to focus on you and your family. I would come up with some witty retorts or very direct answers. People can be so rude without realizing.
"Yes, our plan for world domination is almost complete." I like to say weird things that throw people off because I believe stupid remarks deserve equally dumb answers.
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
That is THE best come back EVER! I love it and will definitely be using it!!! Haha world domination for sure!
I remember having just pushed out DS3 and literally he was laying there between my knees on the bed, I hadn't even cuddled him yet and I was being asked by the midwives if they'd be seeing me back in hospital in another year "going for the girl". Eh, I was raw. I mean quite literally raw from a terribly hard labour and they were remarking about my lack of a daughter?! Luckily I knew going in that he was a he otherwise I think I'd have bawled!
What I'm saying I suppose is that people will always make remarks on our family size and make up but I suppose it's down to no one but myself to come to terms with how their remarks make me feel. It's easier when it's inconsequential people like that, a bit different when it's family unfortunately but I do love the world domination quip!! That'll shock them into silence or laughter lol!

Oh ABC one of each is the dream!!! You are going to adore this last little man, I just know it. No GD involved whatsoever - it's like the best thing ever!!!
Thanks for your positivity in the face of the negativity I will most surely face. It's great to know I'm around ladies who just "get it"! X

I want to enjoy my last pregnancy but it’s so hard, and I feel like it’s starting to put a wedge in my relationship too :(
Oh cassidy, I was the same last time after swaying. I was holding out so much hope it was a girl and then the nub was obviously boy and I was broken. And the GUILT over not appreciating what you've got is just overwhelming!
But you know what?! We have all been there. We get it so so so much! It's ok to feel how you feel. You can't help how You feel and the more you dwell on feeling guilty the worse you'll feel. It's a vicious circle. Vent all you like here between now and the scan and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised with a girly nub [emoji173]

Oh yeah, I think the kids sharing the news could be the way to go!! Their excitement will surely be contagious!! I actually only wanted ONE kid growing up lol. Had my first and realised wow I was made for being a mom!!! I'm a good mom if so do say so myself, happily married to my childhood sweetheart, we own our own house, we take nice vacations, I mean - financially things could always be easier but I'm choosing to not work while the kids are young so things will be better in the monetary sense when the kids are older if you get me. Not to say it's not good now anyway tho. Ugh, I just wish my mom would be more supportive. I'm spending the afternoon with her and my sister. Hmm. Could do without it cause I'm annoyed just looking at them knowing they'll have negative views when they know but the kids were promised so off we go :/

Gafan, mummaofboys: welcome to the group. It is nice to see how much our group has expanded [emoji4]

With DS2, it was literally everything that triggered my MS and it only abated towards the end of the night. I found that sour candies would help take the edge off enough that I could keep some bland foods down. They were also something I could grab quickly when I felt the first stirrings. Other times it was a race to make it to something I didnt mind vomiting into. Def mention to your doctor if you already havent, they may put you on something and just check you arent dehydrated. I hope you feel better! :HH:

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I think maybe it's easier tell people when you know the gender. We've decided to go team green. My husband's one stipulation to have "one last baby"!! I'm excited by the idea of not knowing. I just need to get over the fact that I get really down by others throwaway comments. It's an issue of my own and no one else's so I know I need to deal with that. Doesn't make it any easier knowing tho lol.
We won't put anything on social media either. I don't do announcements really. We just tell the family and close friends. If I could get away with telling no one I would.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats on your pregnancy! FXed It's your girl!
It's definitely harder to open up after a loss. We had an early mc last summer, probably adding my reluctance to tell people our news!

Oh you poor dear! It's a little controversial but I found sipping on ice cold full fat Coca Cola to be the only thing that helped ease my ms - and mine was HG so vomiting 30ish time a day for about 20 weeks. Once I figured that it eased off. I've recommended it to quite a few fellow HG sufferers and it's worked for them too. Obviously caffeine isn't great for baby but in moderation it's fine and once it helps you keep your food down it's a win win!
I hope it eases soon for you xx

I'm feeling a lot more excited today!! I've told my best friend and she's delighted for us.
And, the best news, I've found a local midwife who is going to look into a home birth for me!! Yay!! I have chronic anaemia which can make a HB tricky to organise, also hypothyroidism which is a no no if it's unbalanced at the time of delivery BUT she is going to do her best to make it happen!! Excited doesn't even cover it!!!

Oh I just love that!!! I'm so optimistic we can pull it off! We've never lived in an area that offered it before so I'm all over it now I could potentially have one!!! I've always felt very anxious during labour when I've had to make the move to hospital. On my last delivery contractions were under 3 mins apart so as my second labour was 40 minutes from start to finish (I was induced) We thought it best I make the move while I still could withstand the car journey. I got to the hospital car park and contractions stopped. My waters went and they never picked back up. It was a mess, just so long and drawn out. I'm still adamant that the move from one environment to another made my body just freeze. I really don't want that again!

But - I have two littles at home and I'm carrying twins so I guess that's to be expected! I just hope I can get some of the energy back soon so I can get caught up for awhile!!
My nausea is still hanging around too :( Last night I felt AWFUL! Come on 2nd trimester - please bring some relief!!

I hope your nausea lets up! I feel for all of you feeling the sickness :( I know twins are supposed to make you really tired, too!
Though I came in here to talk about how exhausted I am! I feel more tired in the second trimester than I did the first 12 weeks! Of course I'm trying to ignore the OWT I read that said you're more tired with boys (and I know several girl pregnancies where mom was napping a ton), but I was never this tired at any point with DD (did have a few losses where I had early tiredness). Of course now I have a toddler and am still working full time, but man, at 16 weeks with DD I was still working out 7 hours a week and playing volleyball. I'm still staying mildly active, but I can't make it past 8 p.m. and feel exhausted all day and am not getting annnything done that I need to be.

Anybody else craving things that you aren’t supposed to have? I’ve been having sushi withdrawals but knew raw fish is pretty much a no no. Well, tuna salad seemed just the thing. So I made up a large can of it and had two massive sandwiches as melts (I mean I ate at least half) Then realize... the mercy. Oh but you can have 12oz a week. Of chunk LIGHT. I used chunk WHITE, the one higher ugh. I just ate so much of it :worry:

I agree TP - mum fatigue trumps all! I was exhausted with my first two pregnancies (boys) and this time I think I was already so fatigued from nightly wake ups from one or the other of my boys (I hate teething and especially molars!) that I have just continued to be tired but not noticed much difference as I have learned to function while zombie-like.
I hope everyone's nausea resolves soon - it is horrible feeling this way all day. I had bad ms with both DS1 & DS2 but this is a whole new level. I'm 16 weeks and still feel nauseous all day from the minute I wake up til I go to sleep and vomit at least once a day. I shouldn't complain though as I can still keep some food down. Sparkling water or ginger beer (non alcoholic) seem to help a little.

TP you were smart to ask for no nub pics at your scan. I am driving myself insane looking at mine and my anxiety over this being another boy is through the roof. I just feel like my dream of having a girl is shattering and I don't know how I will deal with hearing boy. I wish no one ever had to go though gender desire or gender disappointment as it is so hard to deal with. I feel so guilty for even feeling like this as I have two of the best little guys in the world and wouldn't swap them for the world.

I'm struggling with all mine too. I got a TON of nub pics, and most look stacked. One looks super girly. One looks super boy. The rest are stacked but long ugh. Im really trying to just accept that its another boy, looking up coming home outfits, thinking of names etc. My older son wants to name a boy Trevor or Owen.

Girlswaylondon: that sounds scary. I hope your friend got better after that. I have never been big on drinking water, so ms just makes it even harder to keep any fluids down. After posting last night, i started shaking (probably from low blood sugar), I had some chips and went to sit-sleeping right after so i wouldnt throw up.
Hopper: yikes, 30 times are crazyyyy! I hope you wont be soo sick this time. I have never felt worse my entire life. Even if I am lucky enough to have this gone after first trimester, i still have 7 more weeks to go. This feels like eternity, and i could cry thinking about it now. I feel bad for complaining about ms but i just feel so misery that nothing helps so far. I will try the cola and see if it works. Btw it is great to see your friend soo happy for you. And i hope home birth will work out for you. Would be nice experience to try.
Noemi: i hope you have been doing well. I feel like i am such a weirdo, but i can smell and taste the water now which I dont really like. How much water are we supposed to intake each day? I tried ginger lemon tea this morning and it helps a bit better than other options. You also have appointment tomorrow, right? What time will it be? I pray you get to hear the heartbeat tmr.
Surroundedbyboys: thanks dear. I have first appointment with RN tomorrow. I will ask her or the doctor if i get to see one. I tried sour candies and doesnt work for me. It makes my mouth sour and build up saliva which makes me gag. Now I understand how miserable ms is.

Shinay I'm sorry you're getting MS so badly!!! With DS2 mine started at 5 weeks - it was not fun. I hope it calms down for you but like Girlsway said watch it closely and if you start to feel dehydrated call the doctor! You definitely want to get treated if it gets too bad. One of my best friends is pregnant right now and she also had it really bad and had to go to the hospital at one point for fluids. It went away after the first trimester but was definitely rough for awhile!! Can't wait to hear how your first appointment goes!

Like girlsway and ABC have said just keep a close eye on it as dehydration can happen within the space of an hour. Signs are less frequent trips to the bathroom, very yellow urine, dry mouth, lethary, dizzy, headaches. It's less than ideal to need fluids but let me just say you feel tonnes better after ward lol! I needed them twice on DS1, 7 times on DS2 and only once on DS3. Be nice to not need them at all this time!!

Yes! I was definitely a little terrified of the D&C but I’m so glad I went that route. I had a very easy recovery and my HCG was already negative on wondfos at about 2.5 weeks out. So now I just wait for AF. It’s been so busy here with getting settled and then traveling to see family but you all have been on my mind so much. Sorry I’ve been so absent.

Gafan, mummaofboys: welcome to the group. It is nice to see how much our group has expanded [emoji4]

Shanay, I would definitely be calling in and seeing if you need to go get IV fluids. I had hyperemesis with my last pregnancy. It gets serious fast. If you’re unable to keep anything down, it’s time to ask for help. The more dehydrated I became, the worse it got. At one point, I had to have 3 bags of fluids before I even felt hydrated. I still didn’t go to the bathroom for another few hours. The fluids helped so much with the nausea! They also requested an IV anti-nausea med during the Fluids. Don’t let it get that bad!!

Oh I'm so glad!!! Yea I think for some reason the D&C sounds scarier than it really is - I was so nervous before mine too but it was absolutely the easiest and best option! Have you thought about when you're going to start TTC-ing again? I'm hoping AF comes for you soon!!!!

Thank you! I actually started spotting this morning- not sure if AF or just random spotting. I really hope this is AF 🤞🏻 But seems soon after a 7/5 D and C, but it’s about 9 days after my HOTs turned negative, so maybe it is? I plan on TTC after my next AF. It took six months to conceive the last time so planning on that again.

Could be AF. Mine took 23 days after D&C but I was still getting faint BFPs at that point. From what it sounds like your hcg cleared out faster than mine did. I think what happened with me is once the hcg got very low/ basically zero, my progesterone crashed and brought on AF. That could be what’s happening with you.

Ladies I had some spotting today :( very very little and I think it has already stopped. It also wasn’t bright red - more brownish red. Trying not to freak out - I had spotting/bleeding issues in both of my pregnancies with my boys that never had a clear cause. We’ve always suspected it comes from my cervix which is super irritable and I think prone to bleeding in pregnancy. No sex in recent days but I’ve been up and down the stairs a lot, carrying heavy laundry baskets, lifting things, etc. So hopefully it’s that. If it’s still there tomorrow I’ll probably call in - but I also have an appointment on Monday. Ugh - this is not what I need right now. Especially after DS1 woke up with strep yesterday morning, and I’m worried about DS2 and I getting it now!

ABC, I know that can be scary. If you call would you maybe feel better? Chances are they'll say that's normal. When I had spotting early in pregnancy (previously) and called, the nurse reassured me that it is very common and usually doesn't mean anything. I also asked if there was any intervention they might be able to do to prevent miscarriage and they said no. maybe call if it is likely to decreese your stress and don't call if that would be less stressful?

It sounds like a bit of overdoing it, honestly. Always and anytime, you should call in just for peace of mind if you ever feel worried. My L&D center saw me several times during my last trimester for my last pregnancy (okay, okay, more like a dozen!) you could try drinking as much as you can and resting as much as possible for the next day. That always helped me a ton on those overdoing it episodes.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkPregnancy is so stressful! I'm sure it's nothing, especially if you had it in previous pregnancies. I don't think it ever hurts to call. I know I feel awkward that I may be bugging my OB with that sort of stuff.
For example my last pregnancy at 33 weeks I went to make a wee. Came back to the couch and sat down. 10 minutes later stood up and water started trickling down my leg... like quite a bit. Of course these things always happen late at night right?! So I called in and was told to meet my OB at the hospital. Yep I had peed my pants. My OB came in at 11pm at night, my mom rushed to babysit DS1 cuz I had peed myself.... so when something similar happened 3 weeks later I left it. Turns out that time I didn't pee my pants! It all ended up fine except by the time of got to hospital I couldn't have an epidural. Anyway my point is lesson learnt- I may still feel awkward but I'll always call in now. Just for piece of mind. Pregnancy is stressful enough!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I just need to see there is still a heartbeat. Since finding out its a girl I'm waiting for something to go wrong. I can't believe we'd be this lucky. I never thought there'd be a downside to finding out its the gender I want. But there is a reason to go team green that I hadn't thought of.

Oh wow that’s crazy - glad things ended up ok and you made it to the hospital in time! Yea pregnancy is so frustrating & confusing sometimes!
I know what you mean about the extra anxiety - it’s one reason why I was hesitant about finding out the genders so early on. Now knowing there is a girl in there I feel like something has to go wrong! (And the spotting today didn’t help). I have my next scan on Monday and I’m nervous too!

ABC o didn’t even have a speck of spotting with my son, so when I went to the toilet I’m this pregnancy and saw brown/pink (more than spotting more like beginning of period) I was a wreck!
Mine needed being exactly what you said, irritated cervix! I even had a tiny bit of cramping and everything was fine! She’s kicking my ribs as we speak! Lol!

@ABC: omg that's so scary. I think you definitely overdid it exercise wise (I relate!) and I hope it eased up when you put your feet up and rested! If you have a history of irritable cervix, maybe two would put more pressure on it too? I would call just based on my own anxieties over our histories, but I'm sure it's from all that!!
@simkan: Yup, I actually thought of this early on. If I knew for sure this baby was a boy, I'd be a HOT mess with paranoia lol.
@Noemi: so happy to see little bean with heartbeat!!!!
@kiku: I've been thinking of you <3 I personally had spotting be the start of my AF after D&C (and I got pregnant that following cycle, so I must have been right in thinking it was AF). I'm hoping you all are settling in well at the new place!
And here I am again... with dreams again! This time, I had a dream I went into L&D early with an emergency and they hooked me up to a scan and we clearly saw baby boy floating with a penis. My mom was there and she said, "It's a boy. We needed a boy." I had the baby and kept asking and crying, "Is it really a boy?" and then the nurse cut his giant penis in half so I could "tell the difference from the cord." !!!
So now I've officially had dreams of a girl, a boy, and a baby wearing a diaper so I couldn't tell. I've now had dreams where my mom (who is alive!) telling me it's one or the other! I think I'm nervous though because the only time I had a dream of a boy with DD was the night before the anatomy scan, and while I never saw a baby (only was told), that this dream involved scans (and then cutting penis in half!) has me worried it's an omen :(
Boy how happy I was when I woke up though, since it seemed so real I had a boy. To feel like that all the time...

That’s good to know!! With DS2 I had several incidents in the late 2nd tri where I would suddenly get a big gush of blood that would then turn into a day or two of light bleeding/spotting. All the L&D visits, ultrasounds, a long “high definition” ultrasound, etc and they could never figure out what it was. But the one high risk doc I saw for it thought it was probably my cervix. I know I have an irritable cervix - was told that before I even started having babies! - and I think the blood vessels in and around my cervix are really sensitive and maybe pop sometimes with the pressure of pregnancy. That’s my theory at least [emoji4] it never ceases to completely freak me out though and I’m hoping that’s what it was yesterday.
Only been to the bathroom once this morning so far but didn’t see any blood. Going to try to rest more today. I’m way more anxious now about my appointment tomorrow though.

Oh my gosh cutting the penis in half?!! That’s a strange dream for sure!!!! But I’m glad you had a dream about having a boy! Maybe it’s a good sign!
Btw when is your anatomy scan? Are you going to tell them to keep away from that area as much as possible? With DS2 I swear I saw his “goods” like 30 seconds into the scan! Tech found them immediately too - but she wasn’t trying to keep things hidden since we were finding out anyways!

I am so glad your spotting stopped -- I've been stalking this thread all morning haha. I was so anxious for you!
And it's weird! I have now had three dreams where my mom told me the gender -- 2 for girl, 1 for boy. But this and the "diapered baby not showing goods" are the only dreams where I saw an actual baby (whereas with DD, the one dream I had of boy was at anatomy scan where I was only told and didn't see baby, but had dreams of actual girl twice). It almost makes me wonder if my sort of firm thought that I'd transfer an XX after this pregnancy if it's a boy is (hopefully) where any girl feelings or dreams come from -- since she technically exists!
And while I probably should full on close my eyes even for the scan and we'll tell them we don't want to know gender, I am still secretly hopeful we'll get some indistputable potty shot and I'll come in here with a surprise! But I doubt I'll be so lucky :P

TP - it started again :(. Just very very light pink/red streaks. Had a long chat with the on call OB and she did it’s probably not anything bad and since I have an appointment tomorrow anyways I should wait for that (unless it gets heavier today). Sigh. She also said and I just read online too that spotting is more common in twin pregnancies.
I’m hoping you accidentally get a good penis shot - LOL! I doubt it will happen too though bc if you tell the tech you don’t want to know she’ll probably be very careful in not letting you get a glimpse of anything!!

Did you only have dreams of one gender? I've had both haha. Unless we get surprised with twins at the anatomy scan! Unless physically seeing the baby is the key, in which case DD was correct and this would be boy?! I had a strong dream my SIL had a girl for her last (and I was right!).
I'll never shake or forget that vivid dream of twin boys BEFORE even conceiving twins accidentally back in January for these reasons...

TP if you say you're team green they are good at not showing you, you can even ask them to turn the screen away/off for the lower parts etc and maybe ask them to do that initially and turn the screen on/towards you when they are away from that zone because at my 20 week scan with DD1 the tech put the probe on and it was a perfect potty shot!! i did want to know gender but if i hadn't there would have been no way around it, i hope you either see nothing at all or a clear as day undeniable BOY :D when is your scan?

If it helps Noemi, I think dreams like that are a sign things are still progressing well with your pregnancy! It's so normal for other symptoms to wax and wane!
And 4blue, my anatomy scan is August 14!

@TP- thank you, I'm pretty sure it's AF. Was not expecting it 22 days after d and c, but I'll take it.
@ ABC- HOW NERVE-RACKING! I'm so glad you have an appointment tomorrow. It also sounds like you've been down this road before.I hope you are able to take it easy. I had a subchorionic hemorrhage with my last pregnancy and taking it easy definitely helped. If you know you have a cervix that irritates easily, I bet that's what it is. Take it easy if you can.
@Noemi- that must be nerve-racking for you too! Odds are things are totally good- just remember that sweet heart beating away. When do you have your next appointment? I loved that pic of your sweet little bean!

Abc I was going to say I'm sure this is alot more normal in Twin pregnancies. I have quite a few twins in my family from my brother and cousins and recall many scares/worries like this along the way. And as you said you are prone to an irritable cervix so I'm sure double the pressure doesn't help that. I look forward to hearing about your appointment tomorrow x
TP that dream sounds crazy! I have no idea if dreams can actually help us work out the gender but also hoping you see an obvious penis at your scan by accident. But obviously if you don't, don't worry. I remember looking at both my son's scans and even though I wasn't finding out its thought if I saw something that's fine. I couldn't see anything. And with ds2 I had bi-weekly scans till 32 weeks. I remember thinking I saw testicals at one of the later ones and then the radiographer pointed at what I was looking at and said those are the kidneys. So obviously not clue. Haha
