I Have been guessing nubs for quite a few years now, it never have I ever come across a nub that looks so blue so early! I've asked some of my nub friends and that have said that they cannot see this baby being a baby girl in any way, even at the gestation 11+4 (12+4 by dates). What do you all think? I've only seen longer flatter nubs at this gestation, with time to change to a boy, never one so risen. I thought what goes up doesn't come down! Xx40075

I'm not sure that that is the nub.
BUT the way nubs work is that all babies start off looking girly, and then around 10 weeks baby boys' Y chromosomes "wake up" and start making testosterone and then under the influence of testosterone, the "girly" parts start to look "boyly". This can happen for some babies faster than others so if a baby is a clear boy in the 11th week, that ~generally~ means that it is a boy. But a baby that still looks girly may still be a boy, just isn't obvious yet.
Soooo, long story short, it could possibly be a boy (because just liek u say, what goes up, doesn't come down) BUT sometimes things are captured that look like boy parts but are actually something else entirely and I wonder if we may be looking at one of those situations. 50-50 from me. :)

The nub does look very boyish for that age but it's still very early. Closer to 13 weeks is better for nub guessing.
