Hi there
We have our first cycle in October. I moved it back from July/August as I was diagnosed with low ovarian reserve (despite conceiving 3 children naturally on 1st or 2nd cycle each time).
I have been taking COQ10 and DHEA since July to improve egg quality. I am also trying to eat healthier, drink more water, have less caffeine & no alcohol. Along with pregnecare supplement and omega 3.
I have hear acupuncture improves IVF success - does anyone know much about this? How often do I have it? When do I start it?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks

I had ivf and it workedthe first time! I opted to have refelxology on the lead up while taking thw drugs and right after transfer in the 2ww. I also ate loads of pinnaple and almonds on the lead up and 2ww. Don't know if any of this helped. I also wore warm fluffy socks after transfer!

IVF first round worked for me with just acupuncture right before transfer and right directly after transfer offered at my clinic.

Hi! I have had two beautiful babies through IVF, both successful on the first implantation. For both I had acupuncture twice on the day of the frozen embryo implantation, once immediately before and once immediately after the procedure. Not sure it it was the acupuncture that made them successful but until recently studies had suggested that acupuncture relaxed the uterine lining so worth a go. It is important you find someone who specialises in IVF though. I also continued with acupuncture for the first trimester of both pregnancies but this was because I had had 3 miscarriages before IVF so we were doing anything to help them stick! I didn’t have any acupuncture prior to the egg collection so cannot comment on this aspect. Either way it is super relaxing and a great way to focus your positive energies on your IVF success! Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I did also read about keeping warm on transfer day - I got told to eat porridge and warm foods too. Will defo pack the fluffy socks! [emoji847]
So you did reflexology rather than acupuncture? You say it was on the lead up - how long before did you start? We go early October so I’m wondering when to begin. How many times a week did u have it done? Specifically fertility reflexology or just generic?
Thank you x

Thanks mamabird4- so you only did it twice? One session before transfer and one after - you didn’t do any others?

Did you do it at the clinic you had the ivf at? I’m having the ivf abroad so I’m not sure how I would find somewhere? I suppose my Clinic may know if I ask them?? Thank you x

No problem! I think just a few times before once a week and during the treatment once a week and then during the tww. I opted for this as i wanted something really relaxing, I think as little stress as possible really helps! After the transfer i went home and relaxed with a film next day I went to work. I saw a reflexologist that delt with fertility so she knew the best areas to work on and avoid. It maybe a happy coincidence but was very relaxing anyway! 😂 have you got any children already are you having ivf with gender selection? Xx

I didn’t! I went to a Chinese woman in Sydney who is well known for her fertility acupuncture. For baby 2 she was closed on the day of transfer so I found someone online.
I suspect your clinic could help. Where are you going? I am planning on a further round of IVF at ThaiSART next year so will need to find one locally in Thailand too....

I’m going to British Cyprus now called Bahçeci in north Cyprus. We have 3 gorgeous girls and so this is our last child if successful and we would like a little boy to finish the tribe [emoji846]
I’ve heard really good things about the clinic but my results aren’t great so I’m excited but also a little dejected - I’m worried I won’t have many eggs to begin with thus limiting my chances as we are doing gender selection.
We go in 3 weeks...eeek!
I’ve been focused on diet and no alcohol/coffee and taking supplement/meds. But will defo look into acupuncture. I have regular massages anyway for relaxation.
Thanks for all you replies - massively appreciated xxx
