Hi all! Super excited as this is my fourth, and last, pregnancy. I did sway pink so I'm really hoping it worked! Any thoughts on how set the nub is at this gestation, also? As in, can I pretty much buy a certain color or is it still iffy?
Thank you!!

Looks girly! I would hold off buying pink until it's confirmed with a potty shot at at least 16+ weeks but that definitely looks like a girl nub.

Congrats on a healthy baby...definitely looks girly to me, nub is very downwards, so unlikely to go up By now. Maybe just wait until you get a potty shot confirming it after you’ve reached 16-18 weeks . Fx and pink dust!!

Thank you ladies!! I truly appreciate the guesses and knowledge. I am cautiously excited :) I won't find out until birth (DH is pretty set on that) but I know I'll be obsessing until then!!!! xoxo

Okay, I am going crazy. I also have this picture and someone told me it was cord covering the nub so you cant see the nub clearly (like you can in my original pic) but I swear it looks boyish. I think I'm just in disbelief and keep looking for this girly nub to up and disappear on me!! Haha  Anyone care to quiet my nerves and give me their opinion?? XOXO40507

I will try and help. I have 4 boys. That “stacking” that you think you see has to be cord because baby boy penises don’t have 4 stacks on them. There are so many folds in that “stack” it has to be cord. Also it doesn’t even look like it’s touching the nub. There is space and then that “stacking”. Hope that helps from my humble opinion. I agree that looks like something else not stacking on the nub.

I'm going to give an alternate interpretation - I personally don't think that's cord but just part of the female nub getting captured and part of it not (ultrasounds can work that way, same reason why the baby seems to have no legs in that pic!), so what is really the forked end of a girly nub is looking like stacking (but is too big to be a stacked boy nub, IMO) and then the part of the girly nub closest to the body is not captured on the ultrasound and looks like dark empty space but it's still there. Envision something that starts where the "nub" on that pic is and goes all the say back to the body and you will picture what I believe to be happening in that shot.

3boysalready, kelbear, atomic, thank you so much. Obviously I'm not cut out to be team green! Haha. Honestly in that pic below I'm not even sure which of the 3 lines is the nub, maybe the bottom line? I'll stick with my original picture from the tech and try and leave it alone!!! I truly appreciate you all taking a look and trying to decipher and describe it for me. You ladies are the best!!! xoxo

Ok. Stick your pointer and middle fingers out straight like it's a girl nub (like you're making a toy gun and your pointer and middle finger are the barrel). Imagine if you were seeing a grainy image that captured just the top and bottom of the very tips of your fingers but then the middle of your fingers, and your entire fingers closer to your hand was in shadow. I believe it's ALL the nub but you're only seeing parts of it
What we are seeing on ultrasounds are 2d representations of 3d objects. Since things in our body are not flat, and ultrasounds have the ability to take pictures of cross sections in which parts of the body seem to be totally gone, it's totally possible for ultrasounds to capture just edges of things and not the rest of it so it can make really confusing pictures and I think that's what is happening here.

atomic-- ah thank you for the detailed explanation, I totally get what you're seeing now!! Okay, I feel a little more comfortable with this being a girly nub ;) i dont know how I'll make it to birth without continuing to nubsess. I keep trying to think of ways to sneak a peek at my anatomy scan *by accident* hahahaha

Oh four thank you so much for updating us - this type of feedback is invaluable to help us better learn to decipher ultrasound images that are less than clear. Hugest congrats!
