Hi Atomic Sagebrush,

From diving into GD I got soo much wealth of information , first of all thanks so much to you for all this help you are extending :)

I have been reading all the threads for some time now and I would say I feel blessed to land here. I was soooo confused with all the info available across internet and so relieved now to have found your inputs. I have discarded and unlearned all the other info now and follow only GD info.

We have a beautiful girl ( 20 months) already and we want to TTC Boy this time.With our girl we conceived with 1st and only attempt.

Last cycle we wanted to try 1st time for boy ( It was a full moon day combined with my O day and with all the false info I had , we wanted to BD just once on O day for boy. Also abstained for more than 1 week to follow shettels).
With all the pressure to make it work on O + full moon, DH could not even finish how may ever times we tried the whole night and next day morning.It was so frustrating whole day with full of body pains :( but no luck we could not even BD so we lost that attempt :mad:.I think this happend for my good as I was not fully equipped with correct info on swaying and was doing things wrongly I guess.

Only after that day which was 3 weeks back, I discarded all info I got from internet ( not having milk,thinking of only 1 attempt on O day etc) and started following only GD and nothing else.

So I started eating HE diet ( Im thinking so) from 4 weeks. Have gained few kilos already guessing 2-3 kgs . (My BMI is 25 normally)

Im on my period now and want to try this cycle again.My ovulation is normally late around 20-21 CD ( around 2.5 weeks from now)

I made changes to my diet a lot and following the below mentioned now:

1) Im following a ritual due to which I'm eating only pure vegetarian ( no eggs too) from 35 days. Prior to that I was eating chicken 2 times a week but no other meat. May be was eating fish once in 2-3 weeks.
2)Now - Morning 1 cup of whole milk with slight coffee powder after waking up.
2)After 2 hours on the way to work,having Avacado sandwich for breakfast or shredded wheat with whole milk and 1 tb spoon of Peanut butter and 1 tb spoon of home made mixed nut powder( Almonds,walnuts,cashews,peanuts).
3)Banana after 1 hr of breakfast.
4)Lunch with rice and veggies /greens curry.Will add a cup of sprouts some times. Pasta once a week.
5)Carrot and Cucumber 1 serve 1 hr after lunch.
6)5-6 Almonds,4 Dates,3 dried Apricots together as snack after 1 hr. (Almonds as protein here)
7)Bit of Apple , Orange or Kiwi with plain yogurt after 1.5 hr of nuts( As to add protein as you suggested).
8)After 1 hr of fruit , some snack may be 2 slices wheat bread with potato or butter.
9)A small cup of tea /coffee.
10)Dinner mostly Indian bread with veg curry ( may be lentils,beans /mushrooms / potato /Broccoli / Green leaves). Will add sprouts some times.
11) 2 cups of normal Green tea with water 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
12) Another cup of milk with slight coffee powder either morning or afternoon

DW Supplements :

1 ) I used EPO for 3 weeks but after reading your post that EPO is not good for Vegetarians , I stopped it completely 2-3 weeks back.
2) Started Elevit prenatals 2 weeks back.
3)Started D Vit ( 1000 mg cap 1 per day), Fish oil ( Got only 1000 mg dosage so using 2 days once as you suggested 500 mg per day) , Blackmores Probiotics + ( 1 cap per day) - All these started only 2 days back.

DH Suppplements - Multivitamin using from 2 days. No exercise from 3 months as he hurt his leg. Food same as mine pure veg now. He does not want to eat fish oil / D vit. Saying multivitamins that he is taking will have everything required. No need to add too many supplements.

No smoking / No Alcohol both of us.

My Excercise:

Nothing but walking for 20 mins midday after lunch.
I know you suggested weights , but have never done in my life and as I want to TTC this cycle in 2 weeks I did not want to try this newly.

Now My questions :

1 )As Im having only veg - Do you think my food intake is fine? or should I up/ change anything here?
2)Are my supplements ok ? Given I have only started most of them just now.(2 weeks before TTC) - Does it help at all?
3)My period will stop from tomorrow , so planning to start BDing frequently(3-4 days once with protection) and 3 times with out protection on the night of + OPK,Next day morning and that night,and next 2-3 days later again. We are passive interms of sex and have only 1 week-2weeks once normally . If we incorporate the new strategy , given we have very less time , does it make any difference to DH's sperm count/ strength?
5) Can Sprouts or lentils be used as source of protein ? Im having them 2 times a day with lunch and dinner from 4 days. Can I continue this / should I change to something else?
6) I eat dark chocolate 2-3 bytes per day. Is this ok or can I increase it?
7)Can I add store bought protein bars? Does it help?
8) I worry over lil things normally and overthink on small things. Does it affect my sway?

You sound just like me ! Also vegetarian that doesn't eat eggs:)

-Lentils are great for protein
-Your supps look good and even if you just started something is better than nothing
-make sure you have lots of full fat dairy- cerealand milk, tea with milk, cheese, yogurt etc.
-dark choc is fine but I used to do one square every other day
-I was careful not to have to many protein bars/drinks because of all the atetificla stuff in them but I had them occasionally (1-2 x a week)

Bd is most important !!!!!!! Unprotected all the time is best because sperm exposure can sway blue! I was iffy about always unprotected and had planned to use spermicide free condoms here and there but after doing more reading the unprotected was the way to go! Every 2-4 days :)

Oh and workout ! Even if it's 2-3 times a week at home- do some push ups, squats, sit ups- muscle focused body weight or weight excercises. There's a site called blogilates that has free workouts- Atomic pointed me to it!

Thanks so much for your reply.
Dark choc then I need to reduce it. Increased the lentils frequency.Trying to add 1 servings at each meal.
Haven't had any protein bars / drinks ever so I might as well not start anything now.
Have increased the milk intake to 3-4 cups a day.
Thanks for the tip about workout, I will look at that and start something.

Thank you so much for your patience! I have had several really long posts this last week and have just gotten through them as fast as I can.

Yes we often have that trouble with blue swayers trying for one attempt, something about the pressure of all that really messes with husband's heads and they can't finish. Not at all unusual.

Ok I want you to start holding steady on weight now, no more weight gain if you can prevent it. Do this by cutting back on any extra sources of carbs (not all carbs just things you don't realy need to eat), particulaly fruit juice which is quite sugary. The dried fruits are not necessary and may make you gain weight too. I would also cut out the two extra slices of bread as a snack. Your diet is quite good, very much what I like to see for vegetarian blue swayers, just that we need to be cautious with the carbs so you don't overgain.

:agree: supplements look good - glad you got rid of the EPO. It's fine to start them now - it may be you won't even get pregnant this month (although I hope you will!) and yes even just a short time will help.

:agree: most important thing is no one smoking! :bluecheer:

You guys have plenty of time to implement the new BD pattern. Although I never like to see long abstains for any blue swayer, the sooner you start having him do regular release, the better.

Lentils are ok for protein. I would LOVE to see you getting more dairy protein instead of the lentils but I understand you may not want to.

I don't totally trust sprouts. As seeds sprout they make chemicals which may inhibit conception a little and so I want you to keep sprouts to 2-3 days a week please.

Dark chocolate can be good for a blue sway BUT it may need to be cut out because we don't want you to gain any more weight. For now, continue with it, but if the weight keeps going on this needs to be the next thing we drop after the fruit juice and dried fruit and extra bread (bread is still ok as part of a meal, I"m talking about the 2 extra pieces of bread used as a snack)

You can add protein bars as long as they are nut-based. I do not like the soy protein bars at all for blue and am iffy on the whey ones. As it is right now I'd want you to switch some of your food for the protein bar insted of adding it in, to help prevent too much weight gain.

Worrying about small details tends to sway blue (or to be associated with people who have more boys.) So that's good news!

I'm so relieved to know that I'm not doing bad with my diet and supplements.

When you say to increase diary - Can it be just whole milk alone ? From the time I posted , I have increased milk intake to - 1 cup morning+1 cup with cereals+1 cup milk tea in the afternoon+3/4 cup tea /coffee in the evening. Also having half cup yogurt with fruits+half cup with lunch. Small amount of butter/ghee while preparing curries weekly 2-3 times. I have never eaten cheese apart from on pizzas. So is this dairy intake okay ? If not can I add 1 more cup of milk/coffee in the morning tea time?

I dont drink fruit juices.However will remove that evening bread. Whenever Im eating cereal in the mornings, I'm having bread with avacado in the evening as obligation not to missout on Avacado.But this sandwich in the evening helps me not to eat any junk after work when Im really hungry.Would like to continue if I may :P

Dry fruits - Im having 1 table spoon mix of home made(Almonds+Walnuts+peanuts+cashews+raisins ) with cereals. And in the evening used to have apricots+dates+Almonds. If you say dry fruits will not much help,can I remove the evening lot? I heard apricots help in swaying blue. If not I'm happy to remove apricots+Dates.

Thank you about sprouts. Did not know about it and for a week I added it for 2 meals a day!!Does it help blue at all -Can I remove it completely if it delays conception ?

From few days my body has become used to this regular food intervals and I'm feeling very hungry if Im missing any small meal /snack.Completely opposite to my usual self.If I continue to eat like this and incrase bit more weight, does it affect my sway negatively or were you just saying for normal health?

Yes that is a fine level of dairy intake. You don't need any more than that. In fact that will be a pretty large source of calories so you may even want to cut that back by half or so.

There is no obligation to have avocado every day. I LOVE avocado and even I have never eaten it that much! But if it is helping you to stay away from junk then I am all for it! :)

If it's just like a tablespoon then that's not a big deal. I'm just trying to find extra sources of calories you can cut out.

I would keep the sprouts to 2-3 times a week max. And I'm ok with leaving them out totally if you prefer. They are nutritious, but there's that chemistry they make (it keeps bugs from eating them) and so eating medicinal amounts of them isn't a good idea IMO.

Yes that is how most of us with all boys eat (including myself.) We joke that we eat like Hobbits from Lord of the Rings - first breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, afternoon snack, teatime, dinner, supper, bedtime snack, midnight snack. But the thing is that many of us can eat like that and not gain weight because at the same time we have high metabolisms. I have seen several people who gained 30 lbs/14 kg or more while swaying blue and getting girls. Now, I don't know if that was BECAUSE they gained so much weight so quickly, or if it was because of some other thing (many times they were also doing Shettles and baking soda and were avoiding calcium and having lots of milk replacers) but because of this, I generally advise keeping weight gain to 15 lbs/7 kg instead just because I"ve seen this trend occur.

I got my flashy smiley today so I may get my solid ( peak) smiley day after tmrrw.

Now I want to know can I use guiafenesin? Have used for few days last cycle and then stopped it . I read a lot about this. My EWCM is not bad but Im really not sure if thats fine. Also lot of people are using it. Blue spreadsheer has data too.

So if I can use it, can I use from today my flashy smiley day ? And how many times? Is it 3 times? Can I continue for the next 3-4 days?

Tried to read in the forum but could not get enough updated info so wanted to check again.

Yes guaifenesin does not seem to have any negatives to it and it's fine to use it.

1200 is the max dose, personally I doubt anyone really needs that much but anywhere from 400-1200.

I can't tell you how many times to take per day since all different brands have different formulas to the pills. Just don't exceed 1200.

Yes you can continue till 3 days past ovulation. Some people go all the way till a week after O, I think that's total overkill though.

Hi Atomic,

We did try this cycle but again hubby could only finish just once in the whole 3 days and looks like that was not enough. I got my AF 3 days back. Im disappointed but getting ready for the next cycle again.

This cycle along with my veg food I would like to include eggs and chicken.

Can I include 3 eggs per day ?
And chicken should it be breast? And whats the frequency per week?
Also planning to include salmon 2 times a week.

Also Im planning to go condom less this cycle.I hope this will make hubby to not get pressurised during the fertile window.
Also planning to include weights or pushups or squats.
I have never excercised and I have only 2.5 weeks to go for Ovulation. Can it still help?

Also how much time should I exercis(My BMI 25)?Is it everyday or every other day? Also I read in your post that climbing stairs can help too. Should I do this extra or as part of the overall workout?

Are there any tips to reduce hubby's pressure during that time? He says he does nt have any pressure but cant finish at all.He tried so hard for the whole 3 days just trying to finish but Alas! No it dint happen.We both felt almost depressed and exhausted.But after my fertile window he comes so easily.Only our TTC time does something to his mind.That 3 days time was so hard I wished I never wanted that time again!��

I would want to keep opk info from him this time but for 3 attempts we both need to take off to work, so he would know��.And 3 attempts seemed impossible last time for him to cope.We struggled even with 1.I was so worried last time with just 1 attempt as it is said to sway pink.We could not get the 2nd one despite being on that the whole time.

Any other ladies too please please suggest some tips on this.

3 eggs a day is fine if you can get them in there. If you get sick of them, I'd rather see you start off doing something you can stick with over time (like if you know you're going to get sick of 3 eggs a day soon, better to start off doing them every other day for a longer time, rather that stuffing yourself and getting so tired of them that you have to stop eating them)

Dark meat chicken is best but breast meat is ok too (I don't like dark chicken and rarely ever eat it but I have 4 boys!)

Yes exercise can still be begun, but please go easy on it, don't try to make up for lost time by doing lots. REmember you don't want to tax your body!

Since things were so difficult this time I would not try for 3 attempts, just see if you can get in two.
