Ok, so I'm now 2 weeks post-m/c, just got my first BFN (yay!) and am showing fertile signs (EWCM - though mixed with a bit of spotting), soft, open cervix). I took an OPK today and it was -.
If I am lucky enough to O sometime soon, I am soooo tempted to try to catch that egg. I want nothing more than to be pregnant again ASAP, but I'm also trying to keep my head on my shoulders and remember how badly I want this to be a girl. My sway isn't so great since I've only had 2 weeks to prepare.
Here's my plan:
-Low Everything diet - I started this the day after my m/c, so it's been about 2 weeks. I've had 3 cheat days since, while visiting with my mother - one of those days included a hamburger, but I was vegetarian the other days, but probably went over for protein/sodium since I was eating things like cheesy vegetarian lasagna. I've lost 5 of the 13 lbs I gained while pregnant, bringing me to 118, which is still 10lbs lighter than I was when I conceived my 3 boys
-I started taking Vitex twice a day the day after my m/c
-plan to start using 1/2 tube of rephresh every 3 days once I'm sure the bleeding is done
-I will take 1 zyrtec a day when EWCM appears
-when I get my smiley, I'm going to have dh release once or twice then dtd that night. If O still hasn't appeared, we'll dtd again the next day
So...what do you think? It's a pretty weak sway - should I try to be patient and wait until next O? Another factor to consider is that for 3 days I've been taking a prescription steroid inhaler for my cough, and I just found out that sways boy. I'll stop taking it now, but I wonder if the damage is done.
Problem is if I do wait, I'm not guaranteed a better sway. O week could potentially be right around Christmas, when I'll be staying across the country with my ILs for a full week with no control over what I eat - there will probably be lots of meat involved. There's no way I'm waiting two cycles to TTC, so it's going to either be now or a month from now.
Aaahhhh! I'm so bad at decisions! Maybe my body will make the decision for me and I won't end up Oing this cycle, but I need to be prepared in case it happens soon! I really feel like my body is trying to O right now.

Hi Mocha! Been so super busy this weekend and for the next few days but had to write! Honestly, you have sooo many things going for you.... Go for it, Mama! Your sway is fantastic! You just never know what will happen! My "sway" sucked! Here I am with a girl! You have such a great chance:) xoxoxo :HH:

Thanks, DM - my instinct is telling me to go for it, but I'm worried all my boy sway factors are going to keep running through my head and making me regret trying after the fact. I wish I hadn't been using that inhaler - I'm worried that just tipped the odds against me having a girl.

I think your plan looks great Mocha. And I´m happy the HCG went away so you can work on getting pregnant again.
I would try this month if I were you, are you planning to do J&D also? I think that may be a good way to start TTC now and have no regrets later. And then next month your sway would be solid anyway, I believe the 6 weeks of LEdiet will put you in girl-mode even if you cheat some for a week around OV. FX!

I think thats a really good sway Mocha! and you should just go for it !You have a really good chance of a girl with the stress your body is under it will send out that signal of hard times and give you a girl, there is no harm trying and if your body isnt ready yet then you might not conceive, but at least you tried and on to the next month right!Only you know if you are ready!Im hoping for a BFP as a xmas present too,i should be oing any day now i hope we can be lucky in December my favo month!FX for you hun xxxx

Thanks everyone. Today my cervix is completely SHOW, but my EWCM is almost entirely brownish-red with blood. Can I even be ovulating when I'm still spotting like this? Only a tiny bit of blood if any makes it to my pad, but when I do a cervix check my finger comes out covered with it. Is it safe to dtd? Anyone know? If I am about to O it would be right on schedule with my normal cycle - CD16. I'm soooo tempted to dtd tonight just in case, but not if there's a danger of getting an infection by dtd before my bleeding is done.

I can't answer your question above about getting an infection due to the cervix still having blood on it. Besides that I do think you should go for it also. You may already know the cycle after miscarriage sways girl. Regarding the diet, I concieved a baby girl (my loss in July) doing Jenny Craig, so I was losing weight, but the food had to have TONS of salt in it. So, I'm thinking the weight loss is more important then the actual food..and wouldn't worry about having had red meat! If I had known myself I could TTC right away I probably would have. Friday was my first attempt after my loss...seems so long. I just didn't know I could right away.

M.J. - I think your heart is screaming for you to go for it. Sounds like your body may also be ready as well. I definitely say go for it. Your sway has been really strong since your m/c...probably stronger than you think! Are you using OPKs every day? I've been using IC ones and they've helped out a LOT. I wouldn't think dtd at this time would be that big of an issue but I would put some RepHresh in this a.m. since the pH of blood is pretty high. The RepHresh will take care of that quickly, especially if you only have a bit of blood. :HH: and :luck:

Thanks again, ladies - I really appreciate all this support.
Jen - to answer your questions, I stupidly didn't start using OPKs since yesterday since I am out of ICs and got lazy about ordering more. When I started showing fertile signs yesterday I decided it was worth breaking into my pack of expensive digis. It was a -, but there was a definite second line. I'll test again around lunchtime today.
I did use 1/2 a tube of rephresh yesterday just in case, so I'm good to go with that. I also might take a Zyrtec as a precaution since I can't tell if the globby brown discharge is EWCM or not (slightly stretchy, but nothing like my usual stuff). I'm also going to drink some Crystal Light today to try to lower my PH as well since I haven't been taking Baby Aspirin this time.
I think I might dtd tonight whether or not I get a +OPK - I just really feel like I'm about to O and there's nothing to lose, right? I think I'll only have dh release once first, though, since he won't get home from work until 6 and if he has to release twice between then and when we dtd later in the evening, I don't think he'd be up for the task, so to speak .

Mocha, I think your sway is great, I agree, I'm leaning more towards the act of losing weight sways more than any diet per se..tho diet is still important, i think concieving right after a M/C seems to sway girl heavily....
I would do it tonight and hope :pinksperm: get there!!

auroara - thanks. I just wish I'd lost more weight since the m/c. Unfortunately I had a bit of a pity party the weekend after the m/c and ate waaay too much food. Do you think 5lbs is enough? I was a lot happier with he 20 lbs I lost right before conceiving my angel baby. Does that weight I lost before still count towards this sway, or does the fact I gained 13 lbs in between negate it?

I updated elsewhere but I don't think I updated here. I did another OPK in the afternoon and it was still negative. I still have all the O signs, though, so I think we'll go for it tonight and hope I get that +OPK tomorrow. I don't want to risk missing the egg just in case my surge happens in the middle of the night or something and I miss it.

I'd really like to know the answer on this. I did something very similar. Lost a lot before last pregnancy gained back after loss. Lost again for sway, but still weigh more then before. Atomic may have good insight into this
Good luck tonight mocha!

This is really interesting girls.....who has lost weight for ttc girl?
How much? was it low sodium?
What about people who do not fluctuate weight? Is there a method ttc girl?
I hope more people chime in!

I can't really answer your questions in detail, lemon, but I know that atomic suggests that weight loss is a bit part of the sway - even if it's just a pound or two. I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 months I was on the LE diet (and I'm not large to begin with - I was wearing size 00 by the end of the summer). People who are really skinny already need to be very careful they don't lose too much weight or they'll stop ovulating.

So, it's 8pm here, and dh is out playing hockey. He'll be back around 9:30, so we're going to dtd then. I already had him release after supper, but I don't think I'm going to push it and get him to release again. I do think I'll do jump and dump, though, and hopefully that combined with the rephresh I used about 24 hours ago will hopefully keep his sperm count low enough.
I took a Zyrtec earlier today but it hasn't done a thing for me. I'm a EWCM factory - there's more than I've had since I started the diet last May! Should I worry about that? In the month I conceived my angel baby I only had watery cm, which I took as a sign the diet had done its job. I might pop a Benedryl around 8:30 or so but I'm afraid to take it too early since it really knocks me out and I need to be awake to dtd!

Hey mocha!
Size double 0 for real!! You are a model!
I have gained some weight since o and I figure I can then lose a pound to 5 for next round if I need to.
How is your weight now since you are "0"ing again????
I don't think I could eat little enough to not ovulate...I like food too much.
Hope you are well!

Ha! Model - I wish! To answer your question, I gained 13 lbs while pregnant, but have now lost 7 of those pounds and am down to 116. I'm ok with that - I don't really want to go back down to 109 like I did last time since everyone I knew thought I was anorexic (I'm someone who has always been 128-130 for my whole adult life).

Doctors like to err on the side of very great caution and I believe that's what they are doing in this case. I think it's fine to go ahead and DTD. Honestly, it's prob. worse checking your cervix than DTD in terms of germ risk.

There is no way to know unfortunately, but I will tell you, the first time I lost weight with sway for DS 4 I had a LOT of muscle still. Then I gained a lot with that pg and relost it again and I found that after the second weight loss, I had a lot less muscle mass and was more flabby. So it may be the perfect scenario is to lose and then gain and then lose again.
