help! 13 weeks scan but no nub in the pics :( can you see it?

I got a ultrasound scan yesterday, but unfortunately there is no nub on the pics I got... at least I can't see it. Also during the procedure I was staring at the screen hoping to see a nub but couldn't see anything which makes me think girl.? what do you ladies think?

I wouldn't think girl just from not seeing nub -- I have seen waaaaaay too any vague scans be boys just as much as girls. Baby is so small still and these scans are so imperfect most of the time! And I also can't believe you're already out of the first trimester, haha -- time flies so fast! I hope you're feeling well!

For what it's worth, I would say a tentative boy lean from that second picture. There are two spots where I am unsure of if I'm seeing nub or leg, but both spots look potentially boyish to me!

Yes, I can't believe how fast time went by..
I know that if you don't see anything doesn't mean anything but I was just sooo dreaming of going there and immediately be seeing that "ding dong" and feeling happy the rest of the pregnancy haha.

I agree with Panther, I am giving a tentative blue lean on these (and I thought that before I read her reply!). I think they just didn't capture the goods fully but I feel like the "root" of the nub is up a bit and the skull also seems boyish to me.

PLEASE NOTE this is very very tentative and is more of a gut feeling than a certainty.

Ooooh, while I think that’s a very pretty baby I really can’t see a nub :(
My gut feeling wpuld also say Boy, but only because of the skull... and we know skull theory isnt anything you can rely on. With DS2 for example I was concinved its a girl from his beautiful round skull :D

I know the feeling of not knowing it yet being so nosy... maybe you can book another scan in a week or so...? I also had to pay by myself for the scan today, but I thought it’s worth it because I already had rediculous nightmares where I blame myself and my DH for not swaying harder... totally nonsense :-/

So, my update is no update... doc couldn't tell. :rolleyes: I think he is pretty bad at this so I'm kind of glad he didn't say anything to make me hope too much. He did this with DD3.. he was like "Oh, that looks verrrrry boyish!" lol just to see the tree lines the next scan. Well, at least I had some happy weeks in between these ultrasounds haha

Now I will have to wait until my anatomy scan. At least there will be no room for speculations at this point.

But I post the pic I got anyways:
I really don't know if I see lines or stacking...I really can't tell which direction baby is turned and what angle we're looking from...

I am a sonographer. I see the "3 lines" you are talking about but I would never ever ever take a guess on gender from that picture--baby's legs are way too close together from this picture, that could EASILY be a part of the cord. (*Actually looking again I think the "top line" is part of the femur/leg.)

2b1p....if anything it seems like a stacked nub/potential penis no? Agree the third line seems separate to the other two little lines in between legs.
Hope you get an answer soon Aira, it’s tough...I can imagine the « pressure » you put on yourself given you already have three girls (If we ttc for a #4, will be soooooo scared too haha).

Hahaha you made me laugh! This is crazy right? My husband was like "This is a baby?? Where is the head?? Where is everything??" I really wonder why my gyn was not able to get one clear pic... :mad: But I shouldn't complain, I saw a heart beat and two arms and legs. Thats what matters in the first place lol. This was my 16weeks check up. Now I got 4 more loooong weeks till anatomy scan. I wish I was Team Green, then I would be happy not knowing ;)

IMO doctors are often not so good at guessing gender.

This pic is totally inappropriate for telling gender. It's focused in on all the wrong things and so we can't tell what is what!

Well I had my anatomy scan today and :omg: it's a BOY!! :bluecheer::bluecheer::bluecheer: I'm so so so so so happy! My sway worked and my dream finally came true.

The tech was really nice and funny and she made a "tatataaa!" when she pointed at his parts (she knew I have 3 girls already) please don't ask me what angle this is, there is only one leg at the bottom but the upper thing is the penis.
